However, in terms of gross rental (the distributor's cut of the gross) it earned $43 million, second only to The Sound of Music's $72 million and over fifty percent more than the $27 million earned by Thunderball in third-place.[2] Its lifetime box-office gross—including revenue from re-releases—totals $111.7 million.[3]
