I am a student in the Poverty, Justice, and Human Capabilities class organized by the user DStrassmann as part of a course at Rice University. My professor suggested that I contact you for your expertise in editing articles over your many years at Wikipedia. Currently, I am working on homophobia in ethnic minority communities. I am worried about my contributions being taken down for sounding too much like a term paper, and would appreciate help in making my language sound as encyclopedic as possible. So that the finalists do not have an undue advantage, these prizes are awarded to the competitor who scored the highest in any particular field in a single round, or in the event of a tie, to the overall leader in this field. Awards will be handed out in the coming weeks. Please be patient!
Congratulations to everyone who participated in this year's WikiCup, whether you made it to the final rounds or not, and particular congratulations to the newcomers to the WikiCup who have achieved much this year. Thanks to all who have taken part and helped out with the competition, not forgetting User:Jarry1250, who runs the scoring bot. We have opened a scoring discussion on whether the rules and scoring need adjustment. Please have your say. Next year's competition will begin on 1 January. Hey, A.B. I love the additional material that you archived on the Talk page of The Great God Pan (sculpture), and I'm incorporating some of it into the article. I've found some original sources that contradict the author's claim that only the plaster version was exhibited, and I added notes quoting them. Lorado Taft wrote a gentle but precise criticism of the sculpture's modeling. And I haven't found confirmation yet that it was exhibited at St. Louis in 1904. More to do. - The catalogue of the art gallery at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair lists only one work by Barnard -- The Hewer.[1] That doesn't mean that The Great God Pan couldn't have been exhibited in, say, the New York State Building or elsewhere. I still haven't been able to find confirmation that The Great God Pan was exhibited at the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis. Barnard was a judge of sculpture, so he wasn't in competition for awards. The Hewer is listed in the catalogue of the Art Gallery, but nothing else by him. Pennsylvania claimed him as a favorite son, and The Hewer was illustrated in volume 2 of Pennsylvania at the World's Fair, but no mention of Pan. His parents were living in Illinois by then, but no mention of him in the Illinois at the fair book; and he was living in NYC by then, but no mention in the New York at the fair book.

Thanks very much for your work on Boston-area buildings and monuments and so on -- particularly your quite good images. I have a request, and a proposal. The request is that seen at Talk:Statue_of_John_Harvard#Photo_ideas, though I think better than a closeup would be a retake of File:JohnHarvardShinyFoot24June07.jpg more carefully done so that the inscription shows clearly, if that's possible. But be sure to include the window (or the window over J.H.'s other shoulder, if the lighting is more favorable or whatever) to serve the caption. The proposal is that we collaborate on List of gates of Harvard Yard, which I stubbed at [2]. If you'll take the photos I can do the text. Hello American friend, I would like you to answer me a question and I want to know if the people in your country have hated Mexicans, my editions are seen as pro white, they cause rejection, I only add the paintings I see in online books or in museums but of who the fault is if all paintings are awesome. There isn't enough content for an article. There's 117,000+ malls in the US alone, so not every mall can be added just because it exists. - @Randy Kryn: I tend to create/improve articles about a city's public art when I get the chance to visit. I am always amazed at how few articles there are about a city's public art. - Every major city in the world should be competing to offer you a couple weeks free stay and let you loose on their public and private art collections. I've seen your work in several cities we've mutually conferenced in. The Boston category you mention went from the six to the 98 or so it sits at now. I too am also amazed at the lack of art coverage for most museums and public collections because I ask myself "where are the art students and historians?" who should be honoring both their expertise and the concept of Wikipedia. This carries over to other topics, and I am actually quite surprised (which doesn't happen to me often) that the Apollo space-related articles have so few editors adding to and polishing them in this first 50th anniversary year. It is an honor to edit them once in awhile, but where are the hundreds of other people who should be doing so and feeling such an honor as well? The crossing-of-the-line for subject matter experts and competent writers, or even amateurs interested in the subject, between reading Wikipedia and editing Wikipedia, must seem like a bridge too far for tens of thousands of people, and is a topic worthy of university or psychological academic analysis. That you do what you do is rare and unusual, and society is much better for it. That it's not more typical behavior is a mystery to me, and the overall lack of the number of Apollo page editors has brought that point more clearly to my awareness. Another Believer should pick a list of cities they'd like to work this out with, and not have to go with the highest bidder (the highest bidder became legal in Illinois today). A city or town government funding this project would likely give AB (or the very few others who would qualify as Wikipedians in Transit) assistance via government employees and local student interns who'd work at AB's direction as well as learn the ropes of Wikipedia. WIT can also apply to extremely qualified and proven editors specializing in articles on individual museums' holdings, on things such as local historical sites, or a myriad of other specialties. It would cost the foundation very little (although someone would have to take out insurance on the travelers) and many of the first cities involved could be initially arranged by three-minute phone calls from Wales, Maher, or a few others. I'm glad I suggested it as, not being a prolific article writer, I wouldn't be qualified as a Wikipedia in Transit, and am barely qualified to be a Wikipedian. Or a combined funding program would work, initially by the foundation if it would agree to it, then eventually augmented by governmental expenditures (as well as from entities like local arts councils, etc.) and private individual or corporate funders who all understand not to expect advertising benefit. Given AB's already considerable and easily pointed-to track record, a one or two page proposal should be an easy write. AB, if you are agreeable to this, maybe you can pick one or three cities that would both benefit most from this and fit your style of gathering and writing article material, and that you'd enjoy working in. Style question
Greets AB, saw a thanks on a recent article and peeked over here. Wow! Thanks for all your contributions. I use a Cannon Elph 360 and Samsung Note 5 and have overlapping interests lol. Thanks for adding back the cats I dropped on FBoV.
I was wondering is it now frowned upon to columnify the refs with the 30em? I see you have reverted it a couple of times. Reason or rationale? I'm not looking to bicker, I don't want to keep doing something if I shouldn't. If it's preference I don't care.

A couple of thoughts: The article does not indicate when the special was filmed, which is an important ommission. One of the most positive reviews of the show was by someone named Joe Drake on a website called TVology. I don't know for sure, but this appears to be a site where anyone can contribute and if so would likely be considered a dubious source.

Or maybe enemies, or maybe just acquaintances. Any of that ring a bell? I remember there used to be someone who was like a lawyer and they were into local Oregon politics articles. And there was a guy called VanTuckey I think. And there was a guy who WP hired, and he actually had me flown to san francisco (see the pic on my user page). Do you remember any of this shit? So, tell me: Why is it that you are trying to convince everybody to contribute to Draft:Stupid Love (Lady Gaga song) and yet, you ignore the fact that there is already an existing draft for Draft:Birds of Prey: The Album? You clearly saw this when creating Birds of Prey: The Album, as articles that don't yet have mainspace entries but do have drafts pop up with a box saying "There is a draft on this" while you're editing. The draft is an obvious tactic to have your work overwrite someone else's. You obviously don't care about working on others' drafts, so why should anyone else care about yours? The only reason you're "not doing this again" is because you just got called out for ignoring the box showing that there was a draft because at first you played dumb. In future, I will not care if you have drafted an article and the box shows: I'll make it regardless, since you don't care for anybody else's draft, therefore I don't think anybody should care for yours. Move my comment into the collapsed box or revert me, I don't care. Your actions on Wikipedia like this go to show that you are very dishonest, sneaky and self-important. You like to put up a front that you're a benevolent do-gooder who stays out of drama and is only here to better the encyclopedia, but your actions speak louder than your words. Remember that. - Richard3120, Yup! I wanted to get the ball rolling while the Grammy ceremony was being televised, and I'm glad I did because editors have already expanded a few of the stubs.
