Current requests for increase in protection level
editPlace requests for new or upgrading pending changes, semi-protection, full protection, move protection, create protection, template editor protection, or upload protection at the BOTTOM of this section. Check the archive of fulfilled and denied requests or, failing that, the page history if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
Reason: Persistent IP disruptive edits. Please see the list's talk page, as well as message I left on relevant WikiProject talk page.
Multiple IPs being used (at least 4: 1; 2; 3; 4), and largely ignoring my edit summaries, as well as talk page messages, and user talk page messages.
@Ad Orientem: You said "Not enough recent disruptive activity to justify protection." but please look at the list's edit history, and you'll see there is actually a lot of such activity. IPs have reverted edits from another user (see here). Soulbust (talk) 20:27, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
- Automated comment: A request for protection/unprotection for one or more pages in this request was recently made, and was denied at some point within the last 8 days.—cyberbot ITalk to my owner:Online 20:31, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
- @Soulbust I'm seeing a very large body of IP edits and only a handful have been reverted. That said, I'm also seeing corrective editing. Most of the anonymous edits have been by a couple of IPs. We don't usually protect pages when the problem is just one or two editors. Once adequately warned, if the disruption persists then we issue blocks. The problem with page protection, and the reason we treat it as a last resort, is that it prevents constructive editing by anonymous users. Sometimes that's unavoidable but we try to keep it to a minimum. Is this actual vandalism, or just well-intentioned edits that are not helpful? If it's actual vandalism and warnings have been issued, either ping me with diffs or report it to AIV. Otherwise, as frustrating as it may be, try to communicate with the IPs to let them know they are not helping and why. If all else fails, we can page block them. Let me know if you have any questions or I'm missing something. -Ad Orientem (talk) 21:54, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
- Quick clarification to the above. Those are probably just two editors as they are each operating within a /64 range. -Ad Orientem (talk) 21:57, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
- Okay thank you for the reply. I think it is a bit tricky for sure, as there is some positive to glean from the edits that've been made. But they're just amid a bunch of very (perhaps disruptive is too strong a word here) unconstructive(?) or unhelpful edits. I've tried to communicate through the edit summaries and whatnot, and that has recently seemed to at least garner some sort of actual edit summaries being made by the IP editors. I'll try to navigate the issue, as I am assuming good faith here, and do believe that because a portion of the edits are actually constructive, that all of them are being made with well-meaning intent. Idk, it is incredibly frustrating like you suggested, but I'll try to work with it. Soulbust (talk) 00:33, 27 June 2024 (UTC)

Current requests for reduction in protection level
editBefore posting, first discuss with the protecting admin at their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
- To find out the username of the admin who protected the page click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page" which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
- Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
- Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
- If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected please use the section below.
Current requests for edits to a protected page
editPlease request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here
Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among
{{Edit protected}}
,{{Edit template-protected}}
,{{Edit extended-protected}}
, or{{Edit semi-protected}}
to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}
template should be used. - Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
- This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

As a WikiGnome, I fix a lot of spelling and grammatical errors. I want to use AutoWikiBrowser to be more effective. I promise to use it responsibly. Tonyfaull (talk) 20:08, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
Hello, Recently, I have made hundreds of edits primarily consisting of correcting proper names related to Brazil and, more generally, to the Portuguese-speaking world. For example, I have fixed the name of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, President of Brazil, which was incorrectly spelled on dozens, if not hundreds, of pages (sometimes as Luís Inácio, Luis Inacio, etc.). Other cases relating to presidents of Brazil include José Sarney (sometimes spelled Jose Sarney), Juscelino Kubitschek (sometimes spelled Juscelino Kubitscheck), and so on, to avoid going into too much detail. Regarding place names, I have corrected Rio de Janeiro (sometimes spelled Río de Janeiro, Rio De Janeiro, etc.), São Paulo (sometimes spelled Sao Paulo, etc.), Brasília (often spelled Brasilia), and so forth. There are more to be corrected, such as Belém, Maranhão, and so on. That said, I would like to gain access to AutoWikiBrowser to make these edits more easily and efficiently, no more being so limited to redirects as I currently am. For what it's worth, I am fully aware of WP:NOTBROKEN, so I will not make changes to valid redirects, but rather to those with spelling errors ("Spelling errors and other mistakes should be corrected. Don't link to a misspelled redirect"). I also refer to WP:DIACRITICS, emphasizing that the changes I make are well-supported by English-language sources. Finally, given that AutoWikiBrowser is such a powerful tool, I commit to being cautious while using it, always following the principle "if I'm not sure, I won't do it", to avoid issues that could lead to losing access to it. I have some knowledge of regular expressions, which could be useful when operating it. Thank you, RodRabelo7 (talk) 18:44, 22 June 2024 (UTC)

Dear Wikipedians: I'm a Brazilian user with a good grasp in Inkscape who is looking forward to help converting some raster images from the following page to SVG: Images that should be in SVG format My main interested in that is both to contribute to Wikipedia and to get more experience with vectorial illustrations. However, I cannot upload SVG versions in those images file history because my account is not autoconfirmed (it has less than 10 edits in EN Wikipedia, even though I have more than that in PT Wikipedia). I'm asking for the "confirmed" flag because I'll probably never do 10 or more edits in EN Wikipedia articles, mainly because I have good reading skills in English, but I'm at "base level" writing in that language. I was given a two-moth extension about two months ago, and I wanted to apply now for full-time approval to be a new page reviewer. I have been active in AfDs, and, as suggested in my temporary approval last time, I have reviewed many more pages than the first two months of my reviewership. All of the AfDs I have created have spawned genuine discussion, and I have also approved several new pages that pass the standards of WP:GNG and WP:SIGCOV. I feel as though I have done enough to earn full-time approval, but I would appreciate any approval the admins are willing to give. I enjoy this work, and I enjoy helping clean up Wikipedia. I am requesting Pending Changes Reviewer rights to assist in maintaining the quality of Wikipedia articles. I have been an active editor for almost 3 years, with over 16,000 edits. My contributions reflect a solid understanding of Wikipedia's content policies, including verifiability, neutrality, and no original research. I regularly engage in discussions to improve articles. I am committed to ensuring that pending changes are reviewed promptly and accurately. M S Hassan (talk) 17:25, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
