February 2024
editHi CGP05! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Mazi Melesa Pilip that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. BBQboffingrill me 05:07, 12 February 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for letting me know! You are right, I should not have marked that a minor edit. CGP05 (talk) 16:22, 12 February 2024 (UTC)
Your contributed article, Glasgow Willy Wonka Experience
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Glasgow Willy Wonka Experience. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Willy's Chocolate Experience. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Willy's Chocolate Experience. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.
If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. JTtheOG (talk) 03:14, 29 February 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you so much. I did not realize that there was already an article for that topic, so I will not contest the speedy deletion. CGP05 (talk) 14:15, 29 February 2024 (UTC)
Didn't mean to double warn
editSorry, stepped on your toes there, my bad! Kingsmasher678 (talk) 00:56, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
- Yes it was a weird coincidence lol CGP05 (talk) 00:58, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
Re: Patrick and Benjamin Binder
editHi there. Can you please explain why you reverted my edits to Patrick and Benjamin Binder? —Qwerty Binary (talk) 10:16, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
- The first wikilink was incorrect and the second wikilink wasn't completely related CGP05 (talk) 21:43, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. A page you recently created, 2024 New York Equal Protection of Law amendment referendum, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for new pages, so it has been moved to Draft:2024 New York Equal Protection of Law amendment referendum where you can continue to work on it. Please consider using the Article Wizard or the Articles for Creation procedure. For more information about creating articles, you may want to read "Your first article". You may also want to read our introduction page to learn more about contributing. I have moved to draftspace as article had completely empty sections and lacks sources. AusLondonder (talk) 20:31, 7 May 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you. I will add more information to the draft then publish it. CGP05 (talk) 23:23, 7 May 2024 (UTC)
- Good job, thanks! AusLondonder (talk) 12:41, 8 May 2024 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for May 16
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Zach Shrewsbury, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Democratic. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 05:54, 16 May 2024 (UTC)
Rollback granted
editHi CGP05. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:
- Being granted rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or Ultraviolet. It just adds a [Rollback] button next to a page's latest live revision - that's all. It does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear and unambiguous cases of vandalism only. Never use rollback to revert good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war, and it should never be used in a content-related dispute to restore the page to your preferred revision. If rollback is abused or used for this purpose or any other inappropriate purpose, the rights will be revoked.
- Use common sense. If you're not sure about something, ask!
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Malinaccier (talk) 00:44, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
- Great thank you!
- I appreciate it a lot and I hope you have a nice day. CGP05 (talk) 00:46, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
Concern regarding Draft:2024 New York Equal Protection of Law amendment referendum
editHello, CGP05. This is a bot-delivered message letting you know that Draft:2024 New York Equal Protection of Law amendment referendum, a page you created, has not been edited in at least 5 months. “I walk alone“ reverts
editPer the message you left on my talk page, I am restoring the legitimate and appropriately summarized edits I have made to that page. Please do not summarily revert all the edits and editor has made when you don’t understand why you are doing it. If you bothered to look, you would clearly see that I indicate that I am relocating content, then have relocated it later appropriately integrated. including with new sections and their own headers. Accordingly, I am going to restore all of my edits. Please be slower to pull the trigger on reverting legitimate and constructive edits at Wikipedia. Thank you. 2601:196:180:DC0:446B:AE9A:DF31:143A (talk) 02:10, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry about that, I did not see that you said that you deleted the text because you were relocating the text. That was my mistake. CGP05 (talk) 13:28, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
