Venue edit

  • Loretta is a nice cafe with good WiFi. We'll be there from 10.30, hopefully down the back.

Report edit

  • Giantflightlessbirds talked about the upcoming kauri dieback Wikiblitzes.
  • We advised Brittany from leopardseals.org about Creative Commons licensing for photos, Flickr, and image copyright. She suggested improvements for the leopard seal article, and we talked about a possible NZ Pinnipeds edit-a-thon in the future.
  • NIWA apparently has an all-rights-reserved policy for its photos: Giantflightlessbirds will visit them in Hamilton and discuss this.
  • The National Archival and Library Institutions Ministerial Group is calling for public comments on increasing public access to digital collections, deadline August 19th. Several of us will be making submissions.
