Why do you keep getting rid of the class section I made Mscoopo Mscoopo (talk) 22:27, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
- @User:Mscoopo, because Wikipedia is not a game guide. We do not list every bit of trivial, unimportant information about video games, or any other subject for that matter. Please remove it--Jac16888 Talk 22:37, 15 December 2014 (UTC)

Clermont Gaels Deletion Feb 7
Hey, you just deleted my page Clermont Gaels. I'm aware it was in French but I am actually translating the French page into English and I just copied the source code from the French page so that I would have the exact same layout. I was in the process of translating all of the French when you deleted it. I'm new to this and I received a message saying that the article was listed at "Articles needing translation" but I am unable to find my article anywhere? I'm not sure what to do?AJ6000 (talk) 23:34, 6 February 2015 (UTC)
- It was deleted because an article being in a foreign language and existing on another language Wikipedia is reason for speedy deletion. Deletion of Open_Broadcasting_Software
Hi. I wanted to link the Open Broadcasting Software item on OBS to an article on that application, but you've deleted it on account of notability criteria (or rather, moved it to the author's userpage, which I presumably shouldn't link to). Would you consider restoring this article? I know nothing about streaming software, but even I've heard of OBS - I would describe it as "well-known software" and was actually quite surprised it didn't have a page. Note that its website is the top hit on Google for the acronym "OBS", but is now absent from the OBS disambiguation page for lack of an article to link to. Meanwhile, many other items on that page (including another, more obscure, application) have their own articles. This is likely to confuse users searching for "OBS" after encountering the term online. Here is a Google search on "Open Broadcaster Software" for reference. As a final observation, while searching Wikipedia, I found an article for an application called "OpenBroadcaster". If you attempt to search the web for this program, all you'll find is page after page of results for OBS! You actually need to filter out "Open Broadcaster Software" to even find results for that application. Troyp (talk) 11:59, 13 March 2015 (UTC)
- User:Voxletum/Open Broadcaster Software was userfied as a result of an AFD, and has not been changed/improved since then so I don't see any reason to move it back, as there are no reliable sources or references to demonstrate notability at this time. I would advise you to work on it in it's current location, or move it to your own userspace, and then submit it to the WP:AFC system--Jac16888 Talk 19:19, 13 March 2015 (UTC)
- I'm not sure I understand: was it removed due to notability as stated, or due to the article quality? If the former, why would the article need to be improved to be restored?
- Unless Wikipedia's notability criteria are completely broken, it should be easy to verify the notability of something like OBS. For instance:
- • Google gives 1,770,000 hits for the name in quotes
- • The OBS forum has 30,626 registered members, with 252 users currently online when I just checked (I think I saw the maximum was close to a thousand).
- • I can't get download numbers from either github or the official OBS download from AWS, but the Sourceforge repo (a secondary mirror at the bottom of the first page of search results) shows 2,583 downloads per week. I'm guessing the total weekly downloads are in the five figures.
- I don't think there can any doubt about notability. The article quality is another matter: it didn't look the best (although not the worst either), but that doesn't seem to be the reason it was removed.
- I'm not sure I understand: was it removed due to notability as stated, or due to the article quality? If the former, why would the article need to be improved to be restored?
- I wouldn't be the best person to create a new OBS article. I don't know anything about video capture and streaming software (or particularly care, for that matter). Anyway, it probably doesn't matter. People can find information on it elsewhere. The main problem was that a disambiguation page for OBS existed, but didn't include the most common meaning, which could actively confuse users - and the item I added was removed for lacking a link. However, it now looks like I'll be able to restore the item by linking to another article, so I guess it doesn't matter. In the event that you don't restore it, I'll leave it to OBS users to create/rehabilitate an article for it if they want to. Troyp (talk) 08:38, 14 March 2015 (UTC)
- It was removed due to notability, it is both the notability and the quality that are why I won't restore it. Notability is more than googlehits and forum members, these are irrelevant. Notability needs to be demonstrated through the presence of multiple reliable 3rd party references--Jac16888 Talk 12:01, 14 March 2015 (UTC)

Deletion of John Vergara page
Dear Jac16888,
I hope you're doing well. Yesterday I created a page for a leading young luthier under the name "John Vergara" that you deleted today. There was a note that the content was copied from his official website so today he sent an email for Permissions that allow using the content in his bio. This is the Ticket#2015051510021082. Usually when I create pages I receive a note on how to enhance my article before being deleted. Kindly, instruct me on how to avoid deletion and what the issue with the page was. I created several pages for prominent people before and this luthier I am trying to create a page for is taking luthiery to a whole new level in making guitars and Ouds. How can I bring his page to birth without risking its deletion? Thank you for your cooperation — Preceding unsigned comment added by NisreenNasser (talk • contribs) 18:40, 15 May 2015 (UTC)
- I didn't delete it because of the copyright issue, I deleted it because it was blatant advertising, not surprising if the content came from their own website. Please see WP:PROMO, and also WP:REF since the article had little in the way of references. Can I also ask what your connection to the subject is?--Jac16888 Talk 19:05, 15 May 2015 (UTC)

You were mentioned on the AN board . I hate to do this, but this should be straight-up common sense. By the way, it 's not a question of who knows what, (this is in reply to your comment on Mr.X 's page, it's just common sense, that's all. Jac16888,
I saw your post, and didn't want to respond on the village pump, so I'll respond to you here. As far as blanking a page, it depends, in fact, policy permits pages to be blanked under certain conditions (attack pages, BLP, courtesy blanking ). As far as copy and paste, I've been told it breaks attribution, my understand of what that means is that it doesn't identify the author that wrote the copy and pasted item. However, I don't see copy-and-paste as a bad thing, for example, I have four articles on Wikipedia, I worked on them in sandboxes set up on my own page. Once they were ready, I simply copy-and-pasted them into main space, the article was preserved exactly as I'd written it, no changes, nothing like that, so not only do I not see copy-and-paste as bad thing, I've actually done this on my own articles. I see it as a minor issue. I'm not trying to be difficult, dickish or pointy, I literally don't see it as a big issue. However, because you've mentioned it, I will refrain from copying-and-pasting anything, even if I wrote it myself . KoshVorlon Rassekali ternii i mlechnye puti 15:18, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
- The fact is that just blanking a page doesn't achieve anything, even with attack pages and copyvios you leave a tag, and in both of those cases the blanking is largely a legal and protection thing. As for copy and pasting, same thing: attribution is also legal issue, it wouldn't matter if there was only one editor (such as with your sandbox pages) and that editor was doing the copying, but anymore and it becomes a problem, which is why we have the move function, to maintain a page history--Jac16888 Talk 18:13, 22 May 2015 (UTC)

Why was the ISMTE page I created deleted? I had emailed in that I had the right to copy the page from the ISMTE website. The group is meaningful with 500 members serving the STM publishing community, robust annual meetings, strong sponsor support, great newsletter. It has existed for 8 plus years now. I am no expert on making a page, this was my first. Perhaps I missed something? Glenncollins13 (talk) 23:48, 30 June 2015 (UTC)Glenn
- It was deleted because regardless of the copyright status, there was still nothing in the article to demonstrate notability and there were no reliable 3rd party references. Good meetings and a great newsletter do not make something notable--Jac16888 Talk 18:21, 1 July 2015 (UTC)
Confusion about the removal of the Sean William McLoughlin page.
I was attempting to look into Sean (better known as Jacksepticeye) and saw that you had remove the page. Reason being, there was no evidence of that being a person of importance. Yet when it listed examples of things, it mentioned web as a thing for them to be important on. Sean, known as Jacksepticeye is a major youtuber. Of which Wikipedia has several pages for, examples being https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smosh https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Markiplier and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PewDiePie . He is certainly one of importance, being one of the fastest growing channels. He currently has 5,290,000 + subscribers And as of now 1,961,443,013 video views, and 1,726 videos posted. As for "proof" here is his channel, https://www.youtube.com/user/jacksepticeye/about it states all the stats I mentioned under the about section. I'd say he qualifies as a person of importance, and if possible the page on him should really be re-added. 50.147.32.39 (talk) 02:42, 1 July 2015 (UTC)Husky
- Please read notability, and understand that having lots of followers does not make a person notable. Multiple reliable 3rd party references are required--Jac16888 Talk 18:27, 1 July 2015 (UTC)

the "Strulovitz" entry that you deleted
Dear Sir / Madam,
I would like to explain with a few examples please, why I think the "Strulovitz" entry is worthy of mentioning in Wikipedia:
(1) It's 100% FREE and open and volunteer based.
(2) It tackles IMPORTANT issues:
- the most important questions in math (project Ramanujan 2) here is a video explanation (2 min): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r46H42DhKGY
- all the man-made human extinction risks (project Neo Luddism) as mentioned in Wikipedia's Global Catastrophic Risk! video explanation (2 min): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIfBJ5pmJ1Y
(3) It's treating the subject in a UNIQUE way:
- the closest thing to Ramanujan 2 is either Chegg (which is closed and commercial) or Khan's Academy (which does not treat advanced subjects, and certainly not this thorough). We solve EVERY exercise in the book! Example:
http://www.ramanujan2.org/course/view.php?id=2
- there are no websites that I were able to find. This is not "let's all live in the forest" website. examples:
http://www.neoluddism.org/?page_id=165 http://www.neoluddism.org/?p=1
it's an organization with the same sole purpose as your organization - contributing to and expanding humanity's knowledge.
Please please re-consider your decision to delete...

A2 deletion: a technicality?
Hi, I was surprised by your A2 deletion of Bakó Árpád. Do you mind if I go over it with you?
At WP:PNT you specified that it was an A2 of the Hungarian Wikipedia. But the article there, hu:Bakó Árpád, is in Hungarian. The article that was posted here was in Romanian. Although it say so as explicitly as this, I interpret A2 to provide for deletion of an article in a language other than English if essentially the same article appears in that language on another Wikipedia, rather than in any non-English language. Korean article
Hi there! I just started recently as a new page patroller, and when I came across 야성의_동맹, I originally proposed it for speedy deletion. I then re-read the CSD guidelines, and didn't think to check if it was on the Korean wikipedia. I changed the tag to {{Not English}}. I see that you ended up deleting it under A2. In the future, how can I easily check if an article exists on another language wikipedia (especially if I don't read that language)? Is it as simple as copying and pasting the title into that wikipedia's search bar? What if I don't recognize the language? Thanks! Air ♠ Combat What'sup, dog? 22:57, 11 November 2015 (UTC)
- Hello. There are a few ways, just pasting the title into another Wikipedia's search bar is one way, you could also try a web search on the article title. If you're not sure on the language again google often helps (look at the language prefix of the results e.g. co.uk), alternatively you could try [2], or another thing I do is look at the editors sul page (see mine for example, [3]), it can be found at the bottom of an editors contribution page and it shows the language Wikipedias they've got an account on--Jac16888 Talk 17:51, 12 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Please withdraw or remove the article from deletion!
Again raised to remove the article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramil_Garifullin. Earlier in 2014, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Ramil_Garifullin thanks to Your help, the article was taken out of removal. And here it is again. Please pay attention to the discussion https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Ramil_Garifullin What, in my opinion, involves removal? Here is the arguments :
1. The initiator of removal Fedor Babkin is the assistant Akim Dubrov. That is, there is a tandem Fedor Babkin-Akim Dubrov. Akim Dubrov and Ramil Garifullin is a long – standing opponents and have antagonism. A significant portion of the papers and books of Professor, candidate of psychological Sciences of Ramil Garifullin dedicated to drug prevention. Moreover, Ramil Garifullin in the media acutely raised the issue about the dangers of certain articles in Wikipedia dedicated to drugs and psihodelii. On the other hand, Akim Dubrov is the author and translator of books in Russia dedicated to drug substances and an author of articles on psihodelii in Wikipedia. It is likely that the main antagonism between Akim Dubrov and Ramil Garifullin is now in the risk of publications on drugs and psihodelii in Wikipedia. 2. Earlier this conflict Akim Dubrov - Ramil Garifullin has been associated with the publication of an article about Garifullina negative article about Snowden. Article about Garifullin on Wikipedia was removed in 2013 on the day of publication in the Russian newspaper article about Snowden. 3. Ramil Garifullina good level of scientific citation http://elibrary.ru/author_refs.asp?authorid=295329&SesCookieID=372174247&UserID=175914337. Ramil Garifullin told me that if would be continued against him as slander in the discussion of Wikipedia, he is libel to sue. 4. Moreover, this identity in the English Wikipedia is seen as a well-known Russian journalist and writer, not as a scientist. Although the number of scientific articles and monographs enough (watch out links http://elibrary.ru/author_refs.asp?authorid=295329&SesCookieID=372174247&UserID=175914337. Therefore it is incorrect to use the same discussion for deletion on the Russian Wikipedia. 5. The Internet is the namesake and namesake, Ramil Garifullina, who is really engaged in pseudoscience and is in jail. It's a different person. Not to be confused! So it looks like slander. 6. Based on this English article was formed a modified Russian text to Russian Wikipedia, which upheld the administrator --be-nt-all Here is his assessment: the Draft looked, the chances of successful recovery are good, although above the neutral still need to be work --the be-nt-all 07:40, November 25, 2015 (UTC). This text was revised and edited based discussions-2013. Here is the translation: 7. But Akim Dubrow was removed for some reason https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A3%D1%87%D0%B0%D1%81%D1%82%D0%BD%D0%B8%D0%BA:Irek_Minnullin Irek Minnullin 22:27, 24 November 2015 (UTC) . 8. be-nt-all gave me an assignment to work on the draft is not directly on RS, but on the appropriate subpage: User:Irek Minnullin/Garifullin Ramil, Rosiewicz --be-nt-all16:43, 26 December 2015 (UTC) 9. Ask the participants to carefully examine all links and articles Garifullina and not to succumb to provocations tandem Fedor Babkin-Akim Dubrov. Article revised in the light of ancient comments-2013. The article is about a famous essayist and writer. The merit of Ramil Garifullina as a scientist is sufficient. 10. Please withdraw or remove the article from deletion! 11. And think, what are the motives of the authors of the Russian Wikipedia to put the question of removal of articles from the English Wikipedia. 87.117.189.39 (talk) 02:15, 2 January 2016 (UTC)87.117.189.39 (talk) 02:21, 2 January 2016 (UTC)Irek Minnullin (talk) 02:23, 2 January 2016 (UTC)

Good afternoon! First allow me to wish you a joyful, blessed and successful 2016.
I've recently joined WIKIPEDIA with the intentions of publishing information about a radio show, hosted in my country (Dominican Republic), and was very excited with the idea of being able to stamp the story of that show in this site, just so anyone interested could find at the first source people go to get reliable information, which is this site.
Of course I, myself, am one of the many millions of Internet users that rely on this site to gather facts and notes, so being able to post here was a very exciting experience of which I was looking forward to go through.
Saturday my post for "Alarma De La Mañana" was published so the first thing I did was to share the link to the producers and hosts of the said show. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Alarma_De_La_Ma%C3%B1ana They did, as well, shared that information on their personal social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram) as on the show's official account too. Instantly the regular audience of the show started clicking the link, sharing it and replying to it.
Not only that but, being today the first day of the show [after the publication] the announcement was also made during the show. Again, people started searching for the link and some also made phone calls to the radio station, stating -with joy- that they were proud that "our show was on WIKIPEDIA"...
Until one of the fans, via Twitter, shared the notice posted on the page saying that "No credible indication of importance (individuals, animals, organizations, web content, events)" were the reason why the post was taken down. As soon as that information was noticed by the hosts of the show they did the announcement that "we're so insignificant to WIKIPEDIA that they do not believe we're worth being portrayed in their website".
Given the fact that they're far more useless information (not only on WIKIPEDIA, but in the whole Internet) I can't help but to come and, humbly ask you what was the criteria in which you've sustained the reason to take down the post.
I don't mean to disrespect nor to tell you how to do your job, but given the fact that the information was valid, was true, was properly redacted, all facts were real, there were no imaging infringement and the show has being on the air for nearly four years now I find it hard to understand your reasons.
Also, if there's any way that the audience (that now are very displeased with this whole issue) can make a request to have a "Alarma De La Mañana" page posted in WIKIPEDIA, we would appreciate it if you let us know.
Please, do not hesitate to give me any inputs you might think would be helpful for us to bring back the page. I hope you find it in yourself to reconsider putting it back in this site.
Should you request any further information regarding this matter feel free to contact me as often as you consider possible. Yours truly, Karina Navarro-Baez/ Tirana69 KNB T/69— Preceding unsigned comment added by Tirana69 (talk • contribs) 23:49, 11 January 2016
- There were multiple issues with the article as it was created. The first and key to it's deletion was it's notability, this was not a judgement of the subject but rather the determining factor for all articles on Wikipedia, they must demonstrate WP:NOTABILITY as the linked page describes, and they must do so through the use of reliable 3rd party references, of which there were none. Secondly the article as clearly written from the point of view of a fan, it was overly promotional and not neutral. Finally, it was not written in English, which is a problem since this is the English language Wikipedia--Jac16888 Talk 00:07, 12 January 2016 (UTC)
Nice comment
very nice comment for Alfa Romeo Avio, your answer doesnt help anybody, so pls avoid ansvering if you dont have anything to say. The page is tagged because its ongoing project, and added for Pages_needing_translation_into_English for reason the template asked for it, and that template is for rough translations, so please dont add any "clever" asnwers in future, thanks. I can ask help if I want, Wikipedia is still "group work" if you know. Your comment makes that rough translation template useless, so pls avoid commenting those in the future, or if you want ask they remove that template. -->Typ932 T·C 12:11, 13 January 2016 (UTC)
- The rough translation template is intended to point out that somebody has created a bad article that needs dealing with, its not for somebody to intentionally create a bad article and then leave it for somebody else to fix, PNT is not your personal clean-up crew. Like I said, if you can't do it yourself, WP:TRANSLATION is the proper policy--Jac16888 Talk 17:43, 14 January 2016 (UTC)

Getting Jibanananda Das translated
I agree with your edit summary for this edit to Jibanananda Das, but am troubled by the edit itself. The {{Not English-inline}} template that you removed was being used as directed in its documentation and per WP:NONENG.
Do you agree that it is undesirable to have a hunk of un-translated Bengali in the middle of the article? I can't recall ever seeing such a thing in a featured article about a non-English-writing poet. A translation is always given, and the original language is included only if the translation was by a Wikipedian. A published translation, for example by Joe Winter, would be preferable to one by a Wikipedian. But the text has been sitting untranslated for three years. The purpose of the tag is to galvanize improvement by alerting editors that a change is needed. If not with this tag, how do you propose to accelerate that improvement? --Worldbruce (talk) 01:51, 31 January 2016 (UTC)
- The purpose of the tag is to say to WP:PNT, "translate this", this doesn't want to happen in this case, as for us to do that would be WP:OR, since it would be an interpretation and it would be easy to give multiple different ones, that aren't the original intention. If a sourced translation can't be found, then just remove the poem--Jac16888 Talk 13:16, 31 January 2016 (UTC)

Digital Atlas of Costa Rica - Please Restore
The project to create the Digital Atlas of Costa Rica, whose last version was coordinated by Dr. Edgar Ortiz-Malavasi, is a project that has been developed at TEC (Costa Rica Institute of Technology). There are 4 versions, 2000, 20040, 2008 and finally 2014.
The 2014 version has 120 layers, in .shp format and the coordinate system used is CRTM05. Some of the layers include "geo-spatial elevation, geology, life zones, rivers, vegetation coverage of diferente years, biotic zones, earthquakes, temperature, precipitation, soil type, as well as political and administrative divisions of provinces, cantons, as well as districts with its perspective census data, human development index, health, presidential election results for diferente years and rounds, etc"[1]
You can buy this atlas at the TEC bookstore.
You indicated the following: No credible indication of importance (individuals, animals, organizations, web content, events))
Individuals: Dr. Edgar Ortiz-Malavasi Organization: Costa Rica Institute of Technology Importance: This is a database of Geographic Information Systems that can be used as a base for map making, this is mentioned when i speak of the 120 layers, the coordinate system used so the database can be used correctly and the available layers. I want to add this for educational use. Web Content: I link the article to the press conference so that people can see where i found my information. Litlplastkastl (talk) 14:41, 20 April 2016 (UTC)

- None of this gives any indication of importance, which must be shown through the use of reliable 3rd party references--Jac16888 Talk 16:25, 20 April 2016 (UTC)
I will add the following to indicate importance:
The importance of this information in a country like Costa Rica are the following: - It unifies databases allowing analysis of not only geographic characteristics but also information on the population. - It is the only source of information that can be used as a base of a map by opening a layer on a geographic information system (GIS). - It is the only database of information based on the Institute of National Geography (IGN) maps. - It serves as a base showing how the new coordinate system should be used (CRTM05).
These layers can serve as the basis for creating new updated geographic information. Many of the maps created by the IGN are from the seventies, the use of this type of information can lead to improved land management, facilitate decision making when it comes to development and it can also improve decision making if there were ever an emergency.
Litlplastkastl (talk) 00:39, 22 April 2016 (UTC)
- I'm not disputing the importance of this, I'm sure it is to your field, however without the references I asked for it can't have an article--Jac16888 Talk 22:28, 24 April 2016 (UTC)

Aegean College CSD
Hi, Today you CSD'd the article Aegean College, created by new user user:Alexander imp. However, you failed to put the appropriate template on the user's talk page. I had made contact with the user, requesting they provide a translation for the Greek article language, and added it to WP:PNT. This request now looks a little daft on their talk page, should they return to view it.
I'm sure this was just an oversight on your part, but in my opinion it's always good to give new users that little bit more leeway to try and turn them into good editors. I hope you agree. Cheers, Gricehead (talk) 20:39, 28 April 2016 (UTC)

Isabel Londoño López Hello my name is Isabel Londoño i work for a cervantes institute in Manila philippines and im trying to organice the article about the Pélicula international film festival, wich happens since 15 years ago and is a big cultural referent in the history of Manila and hispanic countries. I have been trying during the complete week to make the article better, but wikipedia editor always erase my job. I am not promoting a new event, im just adding the past awar films and making better the grammar. Always adding the link to each movie that has a wikipedia page also.
The same problem with the pictures. I really dont know what to do, my boss who is the director of the festival is counting with me to have the wikipedia page ready and with the correct and new information on it. SO, please can do you help me about it? what im doing wrong and how can i do in order to fix the information and make my job?. Im very grateful about your help.
As i told you, Película film festival happend for 15 years and is part of the culture in manila, many people research for it.
The page that i was trying to do were 2: Película film festival in english and Festival de cine Película en español.
Thank you so much for your help. Isabel Londoño — Preceding unsigned comment added by Isabellondoo200 (talk • contribs) 17:39, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
- @Isabellondoo200:, please read WP:COI and WP:PROMO. It is me who keeps removing the content, because what you are adding you are doing in a highly promotional. If you are not able to add, neutral and very importantly sourced content, then you can't at all. In addition using misleading edit summaries such as "gramar correction" when you are actually adding a significant amount of new content is likely to lead to you being blocked from editing altogether--Jac16888 Talk 17:51, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
Hello llJac16888 ok, thank you so much for the informati. i apologizase if i keep writing to you but i really want to do the article with the correct way for wikipedia and adding the right information about the Pelìcula Film Festival . I just want to contribute to the text because the festival is very important for many people and the information there inside the Wikipedia article goes until 2011 so there is information about the last years version of the festival that still need to add in the Wikipedia web.
I mean is not about promoting the festival, is making it more complete about wich movies won the awars during this years and wich one were present to the public, organcing the description also.
The article doesnt have any picture yet about what happened there and i have jorunalist pictures that shows the festival, so i want to ask you i fis posible to add it.
In the other hand the title of the article needs to be complete because is called just Película and is “Película: spanish film festival”.
I read the articles that you told me and i did some of your advice, for example i look for similar examples as the sitgest festival and cannes festival in order to have a good referent. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannes_Film_Festival
https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Festival_de_Cine_de_Sitges
i keep question myself about wich is the diferent betwen those and Película festival, because the article that im trying to purpose is full on information as a history of the festival, films and winners. I will aprecciate a lot if you give an advice about it and thank you again for your help. I wont move the articles untill you know that my intención are just to complete the information tha is not there and dont want to promote or make look better someone, is just to make it actual acoording with the last years festival.
If is ok with you i can just make small changes every day and making sure you are agrre with each one. :) Hope you can understand my text and my solicitud. Have a good day
- Because of your conflict of interest, you're better off not editing the article directly, instead I suggest you suggest edits on the talk page and use the WP:EDITREQ template to request other editors review and implement your changes --Jac16888 Talk 17:10, 21 August 2016 (UTC)

Request for translation deleted: US support to Nazis
Hi Jac16888. Just for my own edification, where/ what in Wikipedia:Translation is the rationale on which you based this deletion? These guideline pages can often be vague or unclear or contain a number of elements all of which are applicable, without it being clear which one is being referred to, unless there is a direct reference to a specific section. I and four other editors received direct requests from this user (from a different IP address) on our talk pages asking to translate said article. Personally I would not (will not) translate anything for anyone who feels so strongly about something, but (not strong enough to create an account) prefers to hide behind an IP address. I know that IP addresses are prefectly legitimate, but I treat such editors with circumspection when they demonstrate a strong interest in a topic that does not present a direct threat to themselves. I do know of IP editors who edit so little — and uncontentious material — that they do not see the need to register, and I don't have a problem helping those. Regards, Rui ''Gabriel'' Correia (talk) 11:36, 23 September 2016 (UTC)
- Because WP:PNT is not a translation project it is an article crisis centre. It it not a place for people to request translations from other language Wikipedia, it is a place for handling already created articles that are in another language. Wikipedia:Translation details the procedure for requesting another editor translate a page from another Wikipedia--Jac16888 Talk 19:09, 23 September 2016 (UTC)
Extended confirmed protection
Hello, Jac16888. This message is intended to notify administrators of important changes to the protection policy.
Extended confirmed protection (also known as "30/500 protection") is a new level of page protection that only allows edits from accounts at least 30 days old and with 500 edits. The automatically assigned "extended confirmed" user right was created for this purpose. The protection level was created following this community discussion with the primary intention of enforcing various arbitration remedies that prohibited editors under the "30 days/500 edits" threshold to edit certain topic areas.
In July and August 2016, a request for comment established consensus for community use of the new protection level. Administrators are authorized to apply extended confirmed protection to combat any form of disruption (e.g. vandalism, sock puppetry, edit warring, etc.) on any topic, subject to the following conditions:
- Extended confirmed protection may only be used in cases where semi-protection has proven ineffective. It should not be used as a first resort.
- A bot will post a notification at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard of each use. MusikBot currently does this by updating a report, which is transcluded onto the noticeboard.
Please review the protection policy carefully before using this new level of protection on pages. Thank you.
This message was sent to the administrators' mass message list. To opt-out of future messages, please remove yourself from the list. 17:49, 23 September 2016 (UTC)

While creating a new topic (still in Draft form) I discovered that Posepny's profile was included in the Czech page but amazingly, given his impact on American economic geology, not in English. I couldn't figure out how to "link" his name to the Czech page, so I did a quick translate-copy-paste. Sorry, I am new to this! If you can tell me how to link to the Czech page, we can delete the English version. Or I can clean up the English translation, but I don't want to spend too much time on it. OverZealous Deletion
Your efforts in the main are great and to be commended however, there do seem to be a lot of overzealous deletions. Wouldn't it be better for all if when you see something that you think should be deleted that you first try to improve it rather than delete. There isn't even time to research and further improve when you delete so zealously. [4] 109.202.157.159 (talk) 15:55, 12 October 2016 (UTC)
- Perhaps it would be better if you actually read about how things work before editing. If you read WP:LISTPEOPLE to understand the type of page, you will find that in order for something to be listed it must either a) have an article or b) have a reliable 3rd party reference. So for example, the bus company you have added (albeit incorrectly by not giving the actual name) does not belong. A random non notable person (would I be wrong in guessing that either the person or the company are connected to you? seems likely) with a link to userpage does not, nor does a company with only a link to their own website. Please revert your additions, or I will do so--Jac16888 Talk 21:24, 12 October 2016 (UTC)
- Actually I've just removed it, you're obviously trying to use the page to promote yourself and your company. Restore it again and you will be reported--Jac16888 Talk 21:35, 12 October 2016 (UTC)
There seem to be some crossed wires here and I am confused ? I added lots of stuff to the page and I think that the items that you refer to were done by other users such as Magioladitis which I attempted to improve as didn't think they where correctly listed albeit relevant. I was asking you to help rather than just remove.
I only knew about the name and was interested in clans so was attempting to improve. My intent was also to update those pages too but to be honest can't be bothered now given this experience. If you know about the rules which it sounds like you do then I would ask you to assist by for example creating missing pages such as for Patrick which I think merits and others; editing the list items to make them correct rather than removing. Its better that someone like you does these things as I don't understand the issues as I was going by this [Notability] . Regarding the bus company it was made without the link to site to avoid promotion as doesn't have an article page but could cite. If you think its better to link to their site or to a page which doesn't exist I have no issue with that but I don't think they meet requirements for page creation - you know better than me. 109.202.157.153 (talk) 14:54, 13 October 2016 (UTC) I just realised you deleted all the name info and clan info too ! what do you mean policy violation of original research - It was absolutely not and data was contained on the links to the WP clan pages. If you wanted more citations why didn't you ask? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.202.157.153 (talk) 15:18, 13 October 2016 (UTC)
- Several times you have restored links (to a person and to their company) which were not appropriate. The issue is that a list article is not meant to list every single instance of a thing - could you imagine what that could end up like? Imagine a page about Smith? Things are only included on lists if they are notable, either they have an article or there are reliable 3rd party references that could suggest they warrant one. As for the clan info, because you didn't reference any of the info, there is no way to WP:VERIFY it, making it unsuitable--Jac16888 Talk 16:29, 13 October 2016 (UTC)
No I keep trying to revert your changes because they have errors. You seem to be focused on a specific person and company which I only edited as part of my other edits to make the info more correct (And by the way are appropriate although do require more info).
The page is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Anthroponymy and I do not agree with your explanation of List article or notability; Notability_guidelines_do_not_apply_to_content_within_an_article.
You are hindering incremental improvement by removing everything and actually putting in more errors instead of editing and improving ! In your most recent edits you removed dates and changed the text however by removing the dates and only using present tense you made it so it was impossible to tell if the person was alive or dead. There are other errors such as consistency in that some now have prepositions whilst some don't, you left behind a bracket ), A verus an...
Regarding the name box, name origin and clan info etc there was no need to remove. If you thought a citation was required you should have requested rather than delete everything. And in my understanding there was no requirement to verify as in this case the links to the WP clan pages were provided where data can be confirmed. 109.202.157.153 (talk) 17:40, 13 October 2016 (UTC)
- You are ignoring everything I say. First of all, listing the person and the company are not appropriate, and I have no further way of trying to make you understand that since you just don't get it. Likewise, the dates do not belong either. The entire purpose of this article is to refer you to somewhere else. So that if somebody searches for McKendry they will find links to the various people with that name. That is it, it not the purpose of this page to give any other information. Those links will have the information, in their own individual pages. If you want to turn this into an article about the name itself (which currently it is not) then yes you absolutely need references and another Wikipedia page does not constitute one.--Jac16888 Talk 18:25, 13 October 2016 (UTC)
I am not ignoring what you say however I am requesting you not to delete all but rather fix errors / improve. I noticed that whilst not mentioned above that you did remove the errors that you created so thanks. 109.202.157.146 (talk) 15:38, 14 October 2016 (UTC)

Two-Factor Authentication now available for admins
Hello,
Please note that TOTP based two-factor authentication is now available for all administrators. In light of the recent compromised accounts, you are encouraged to add this additional layer of security to your account. It may be enabled on your preferences page in the "User profile" tab under the "Basic information" section. For basic instructions on how to enable two-factor authentication, please see the developing help page for additional information. Important: Be sure to record the two-factor authentication key and the single use keys. If you lose your two factor authentication and do not have the keys, it's possible that your account will not be recoverable. Furthermore, you are encouraged to utilize a unique password and two-factor authentication for the email account associated with your Wikimedia account. This measure will assist in safeguarding your account from malicious password resets. Comments, questions, and concerns may be directed to the thread on the administrators' noticeboard. A new user right for New Page Patrollers
Hi Jac16888.
A new user group, New Page Reviewer, has been created in a move to greatly improve the standard of new page patrolling. The user right can be granted by any admin at PERM. It is highly recommended that admins look beyond the simple numerical threshold and satisfy themselves that the candidates have the required skills of communication and an advanced knowledge of notability and deletion. Admins are automatically included in this user right.
It is anticipated that this user right will significantly reduce the work load of admins who patrol the performance of the patrollers. However, due to the complexity of the rollout, some rights may have been accorded that may later need to be withdrawn, so some help will still be needed to some extent when discovering wrongly applied deletion tags or inappropriate pages that escape the attention of less experienced reviewers, and above all, hasty and bitey tagging for maintenance. User warnings are available here but very often a friendly custom message works best.
If you have any questions about this user right, don't hesitate to join us at WT:NPR. (Sent to all admins).MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:47, 15 November 2016 (UTC)

A proposed bio page on Burt Prelutsky.
Apologies if I am getting your moniker wrong, Jac [?], but I want to work with Burt Prelutsky (television and film writer, producer, director, reviewer, blogger of some note) on posting a page for him. This is being done with his knowledge and he is completely supportive of my intention to do this as a friend. I don't want to do anything that might test Wikipedia rules so could you let me know the best way to proceed in light of the fact that you seem to have rejected a Prelutsky posting in 2010 because the poster was apparently hostile. Thanks for any help or advice you might provide me in this. There's really no rush on the posting but I'd like to begin the work sometime soon; thanks again.

I represent an artist or an artist. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Son_Damla_4)
I wrote a short article to provide the necessary information about the artist's song on digital platforms such as "vevo" & "iTunes" & "spotify".
But I do not understand why it was erased, the person I represent is a rap artist who is rising fast and open to the front.
There are a lot of results in google search about him and google is in the knowledge map. I thought that you need to support it with wikipedia, because "who is it?" This is the only large and reliable platform that can answer your question. BerkURAL95 (talk) 13:48, 21 December 2016 (UTC)
- As you have a clear conflict of interest you should not be writing about this person full stop, however if you didn't, we would need an article about the artist before their song, and it would need to be more noteable than "rising fast", and with more reliable references than a google search. It would also help if you wrote the article in English, this being the English Wikipedia--Jac16888 Talk 23:22, 21 December 2016 (UTC)

Play of Daniel
Yersteday I made the Hungarian page for Play of Daniel, but I didn't recognize, that it's not in the right place. Could you help me with placing my article to the Hungarian version of Wikipedia (or just explain me how can I do that)? - (talk page stalker) Hello UBBFTTSzK, I'm De728631. To create an article at the Hungarian Wikipedia you need to go to https://hu.wikipedia.org. Your username and password should be the same as here at the English Wikipedia, and you can then create a new page just as you did here. Generally, the different language versions of Wikipedia can be distinguished by the server part of the web address. E.g. the English Wikipedia has en.wikipedia.org, Hungarian would be hu.wikipedia.org, German is de.wikipedia.org and so on.
- I have moved the content of your Hungarian article to a subpage at User:UBBFTTSzK/Dániel-játék (note: this is only at your English Wikipedia account). You can click here and copy the source code to a new page at the Hungarian Wikipedia. De728631 (talk) 14:11, 28 December 2016 (UTC)

Question regarding new page patrol and non-english articles
Hi Jac16888,
I saw you deleted a Chinese article that I had tagged as notenglish while patrolling new pages. Out of curiousity, how did you reach the conclusion that this was appropriate for A7? Do you just use google translate and make a decision based off of that? If this is the case, I could use the same tool to just tag it for CSD instead, but I thought the standard policy was to tag the language first, wait to see if anyone gives a translation and then either make a decision regarding notability after it has been translated, or delete/move to native Wikipedia if not translated after X amount of time. Advice, recommendations, clarification?
Thanks
-War wizard90 (talk) 01:56, 6 January 2017 (UTC)
- Hello. It was google translate/bit of knowledge. While not being in English is not a reason by itself to delete a page (unless it remains untranslated for a set period of time) it doesn't excuse an article from other criterion for deletion, all of the CSD criteria apply, and similarly a page can be prodded or afd'd, provided the reason is something other than "not in English". If you list them at WP:PNT we will handle them in the most appropriate method--Jac16888 Talk 16:39, 6 January 2017 (UTC)

Supporters of RC Strasbourg's deletion
Hello, I was wondering why you attempted of delete Supporters of RC Strasbourg page, before trying to edit it, to find sources or to help us? Instead of deleting it, you should have read it entirely and corrects parts that you find not good enough. This is hours or work, hours of translation and hours of source searching (and articles about supporters are hard to find, especially in France where relations between medias and supporters aren't good). This is just a beginning of the translation, and, as all wikipedia's articles, it needs time. If an article is deleted without letting time to users to correct it and without considering time that users give for making Wikipedia better and useful, I do not understand why we should call it "encyclopedia" I hope you will reconsider your demand of deletion, because it is totally unfair and a lack of respect for other's work. The purpose of a community is helping and sharing knowledge in order to get the encyclopedia better and give reader an entire and true informarion.

- Many of the other translations are sourced to proper references such as books, they are not the original work of editors, that would be the ideal. WP:SIGNHERE? Or the fact that no other article contains a link to the editor who did a piece of content?--Jac16888 Talk 18:33, 25 February 2017 (UTC)

Beg to differ
re: your deletion summary...
- Beg to differ, the Secretary of State of a state as 'large and historied' as the commonwealth is a damn good reference. I'll admit to OR on the matter, but that was unintentional since my contact actually started as a comment and complaint email after accessing digitized records trying to untangle the old company references from the new. Hence in this matter, I think I might be forgiven for the OR, and the point is still valid. Here we need some rationale for separating the old historic and influential from the modern, opportunistic and greedy. That cite sets the reason where any editor can understand the caution on the page. (So I'll probably put it back eventually.) Meantime, be well! // FrankB 23:41, 1 March 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, it would be a great reference, if it wasn't "some email that this one editor has in their inbox"--Jac16888 Talk 23:56, 1 March 2017 (UTC)
- A reference is a reference, one may always ask for it. I suspect you should have just commented around it so there was supporting information for others. See, I'm not hung up on academic nonsense like someone at the beginning of a career. With five degrees and a lifes work, I've little time for nonsense. I've just retired nad have little use for professors and their guild system who lie and promise hundreds of thousands of applicants a four year degree is the best path, that one will be able to get a job with one. HA! Worse in my book than marketing people, media, and politicians. The whole lot say nothing but what will help their own causes and line their pockets. Best regards! FrankB 23:48, 4 March 2017 (UTC)
- I'm sorry but it's not, a reference on Wikipedia is only of use if it is verifiable and from a reliable source, "they emailed me, honest guv" is not one. What happens a year from now if you're no longer editing and somebody comes across that article and wants to check that reference? They can't, simple as that. Alternatively what's to stop me putting the exact opposite to your statement with the reference "they sent me a letter"? By your logic that would be ok.--Jac16888 Talk 22:25, 5 March 2017 (UTC)

i would like to know why you change the passage to the old one,the content is old-dated and i try my best to add some new information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Twinklestellar (talk • contribs) 11:40, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
- Because the content you are adding is badly written, unsourced and excessive, it is making the article worse not better--Jac16888 Talk 17:52, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
I believe the email an acceptable source of the building's height as per WP:SELFSOURCE. It is not a self-serving or exceptional claim. There was no objection on the article Talk page where I quoted the text of the email. It only makes a claim about the building in which the museum operates and indicates how they obtained the information. If it is desired, I can forward the email correspondence to anyone in a position to do a verification. I had searched unsuccessfully for the information prior to emailing. I'm OK to see tagged as [unreliable source?], I am happy to see it replaced with a better source if one can be found, but I don't see any point in removing the only source for the current information. Kerry (talk) 11:44, 18 March 2017 (UTC)
- I'm sorry but I disagree, as a reference it is not verifiable, it is no better than trying to reference a conversation. Yes people can ask you for to see the email, but a) forwarding an email and altering the source is incredibly easy (I'm not saying you would do this, just that someone could), and b) what happens are year or ten from now when you are no longer editing? --Jac16888 Talk 19:39, 19 March 2017 (UTC)
- What's the difference if I reference an obscure book in my local library that you can't access, it's less verifiable by you. Mine is verifiable in that anyone can contact the museum and ask them to confirm it whether the information is true, regardless of whether you or I are still contributing. The academic principle of "cite it where you saw it" always applies, that is where the information came from so that is what I cited. You can it tag as [unreliable source?] but you cannot deny it is my source. Verification is impossible if you take away the source; verification remains possible with a source. And I think this is a storm in a teacup over the height of a building, which isn't making any claim about being tallest/shortest. And I think WP:RSCONTEXT applies too. Kerry (talk) 01:09, 20 March 2017 (UTC)
- It is very different to a book and you know that, no matter how obscure a book it can always be verified by someone. Your reference is no different than to trying to reference a conversation, it is simply not verifiable, and essentially original research--Jac16888 Talk 21:14, 20 March 2017 (UTC)

Chkites Honqerd? Thank you - good outcome
Hi Jac16888,
April 8, 2017 Jac16888 (talk | contribs | block) moved page Chkites Honqerd to User:Lyovson/sandbox without leaving a redirect (move back to sandbox, not in english and not ready to be an article)
Thank you for that move. I wasn't sure what to do with it: not a WP:A9 candidate as Lilit Hovhannisyan appears to be a notable artist, but the entire article was written in Armenian. I did check the YouTube link to see if it was a WP:COPYVIOEL, but it appears to be from Hovhannisyan's own YT channel. I wouldn't have a clue what the song is about, but it does appear that they are both having a lot of fun.

Self promotion
I think self promotion is a good thing for the development of Wikibooks. But I won't start a conflict about this. You may read the discussion with jmcgnh, Wikibooks links and COI rule, on the same subject, and take a look at my user page at Wikibooks. Thierry Dugnolle (talk) 12:08, 6 May 2017 (UTC)
