Malcolm Quantrill's place of death

Many thanks for cleaning up the page on Malcolm Quantrill I just coined a few hours ago! I'm hoping to add more in the next day or two. However, you have removed the place of his death. I see the old system of placing place of birth and death on the first line is hardly in use these days. But without a picture, it does not yet seem worth adding an infobox. Only discovered that because I asked the other brewer if that was how he choose his brewery name - By the Horns Brewing Co. However, it was derived from the phrase "taking the bull by the horns". Actually, it seems that Smith may have rowed in the boat race in the 1880s according to The Times. I don't know if you can access their archive but there is plenty of rowing stuff from the 1880s there. I don't have time to go through it now but DYK could be ...that Gordon Smith who rowed for Cambridge in the University Boat Race also formed the greatest collection of the stamps of South Australia of his time. I can probably do a bit more on Saloop. I've had a quick look at Killiechassie and it should be relatively easy to get the DYK process on that one moving again. I'll attend to it later. As for the pubs, there's a list of all the articles I've created on my userpage - all the pubs there are Grade II or II* listed. Many of them should be fairly easy to expand by 5x to get to a DYK level... If any catch your eye, I'd be very happy to collaborate. Instinctively I feel like since you chose to open this can of worms it's only right that you should try to close it instead of passing the buck to a new third party, but if you don't have time to close the can I will be disappointed but will not object. It doesn't always quite format them right but still saves a lot of time as all you have to do is tweak them. One thing I have noticed on G Books is that when you scroll to the first pages the publishing details are often different to what they say they are in "About this book". Probably more streets, as one leads to another, as streets are wont to do. Lots of history in them too. Sorry about that. Everything from the old article has been included. A quick search on Google for "Rainer Guillery" gets 331 results, and "Ray Guillery" gets 9720, and the first three pages (at least) are all him. • He indeed signed some of his editorials in the European Journal of Neuroscience as "Ray", so Ray it is. However, what you did (a copy-paste "move") is still problematic, because it doesn't adhere to WPs licensing... The proper way to do this would have been to move the article "Rainer Guillery" to the new title "Ray Guillery" and then modify it as necessary. The way you did it, the edit history of the article has gone lost. It now looks like you created the article and basically were its only editor, whereas in reality it was created years ago by Slowking4. I'll see whether a history merge can be done to correct this. This may involve a temporary deletion, don't worry about that when you see it, but give me some time to do that (I first have to figure out how, never having done this yet... :-) --Randykitty (talk) 11:24, 8 June 2014 (UTC)

There will be enough for an article, but not sure yet about it being DYK length. The things we stumble across. As for Abigail's Party, I do remember cheese and pineapple on cocktail sticks, but not prawn cocktails. But, maybe the budget for the production I was in many moons ago didn't stretch to prawns. "New nominators (those with fewer than five DYK credits) are exempt from this review requirement, as is the nomination of another editor's article, although they are strongly encouraged to do so." I'm very much an inclusionist, but I'm a bit sceptical about restaurants that haven't been around very long. Having said that, it is the sort of thing that many of our readers would be interested in. And as you rightly say, the building istelf is notable, and I've done plenty of listed building articles, including fire stations. So, I'll do an article about the fire station and create the restaurant as a redirect to it. If that goes well enough, we can think about later creating the restaurant as an article in its own right! Once you have five or more DYK credits, which I believe you do, you have to review one other nomination for each article you self-nominate. See WP:DYKR for details. None of us really know how to review a nomination before we try. If you do your best and note in your comments that it is the first one that you've reviewed, others should be tolerant of any shortcomings! My advice would be to pick an article about which you have some understanding of the subject matter, you read the language(s) concerned, and where the sources especially for the hook are available free online. Hi. Do you think you could help me with my DYK for Lili Bosse, the current Mayor of BH? An editor suggested she may have lied about being the only daughter of Holocaust survivors, so another reference from The Jewish Journal of Greater Los Angeles. (I wondered if even questioning her on this might be antisemitic?) Now he is trying to question a citation from the BH City website. I will never suggest any more articles for DYK, because this has made it such a waste of time...but I would like to get this article to the front page, to make sure it was not blocked by antisemitism. • It's more to do with needing a secondary source to support anything in a DYK hook. Lili Bosse herself is a primary source. See WP:PRIMARY for more on this. And writing anything that might suggest that another editor could be antisemitic is probably never a good idea! I already have one difficult Israel-related DYK nomination to get back to (see Template:Did you know nominations/One Million Plan, and some discussion above), so I'm very reluctant to wade into another. A small request

When you're doing things like the London pub articles, can you 1) include {{coord missing|London}} or better still, the coordinates themselves? I'm trying to keep Category:United Kingdom articles missing geocoordinate data as empty as possible, Anomebot automatically inserts {{coord missing|United Kingdom}} but isn't yet clever enough to knock it down to the county level, so someone ends up doing it manually... Also, it's helpful to add a Wikiproject banner and image request (if needed) as it's useful for a Project to claim "ownership" of an article, if only to give bots someone to notify for RFCs, renames and the like - see eg Talk:Duke of Kent, Ealing.
