Spanish. It's about a League of Legends tournament, which is mentioned (as Latin America Cup) in List of League of Legends leagues and tournaments. Possibly notable, given better referencing - all the existing ones are to lan.leagueoflegends,com. Some of the other tournaments in the List article are blue-linked, though many of them are linked to articles in ru-wiki, not here. JohnCD (talk) 16:58, 16 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

I think this has just been put in the wrong WP, really. As far as I see it there is no equivalent over at HR:WP but I think we should transfer it there and delete it from here. There is nothing at Croatian WP and no evidence of deletion, this is a bit of a WP:BLP but seems kinda notable enough by WP:EN standards, referenced and so on. Created by User:Tvrtko6 and this is their only contribution, so that's a bit suspicions that it is a kinda autobiography, but leaving that aside I think this person is notable, and is reffed to English standards to WP_:BLP, but I think best to whack it over to Horvat WP in the first go would be best, let them then decide? Essentially a kinda interwiki page move, does not belong here but might belong there, see no evidence of any attempt to create it there. I could just be WP:BOLD and cut and paste meself of course but that would be unhelpful until we have consensus here, I think. Si Trew (talk) 08:19, 23 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

I don't think this is notable. The award came from something called The Akademia, which at least a couple of sources say is a scam[1] where someone contacts you and suggests you submit your work for consideration, for which you are then charged a fee.[2] And the article doesn't say who named them 16th in the world, but the paucity of Google hits for "show broadway group" diminishes the credibility of this designation coming from any well-regarded organization. Huh? It needs WP:NPOV, links added, translation done properly not an auomated translaion (nobody in English says "continuous present" instead of "now", that is straight out of some machine translation engine), links are not checked or reffed, and is not exactly WP:SINGLESOURCE but not WP:NPOV either. The French and Romanian versions of the article just state the facts, ma'am, this one is an encomium of it is a rubbish university but has passed all tests, I am not sure how this can be rescued if at all. Si Trew (talk) 11:15, 22 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • Thanks, @Korinthos:. As an Englishman living in Hungary I do hear Romanian most days and some of it chimes with me, or rather chimes badly with "that ain't French!", so I hope you won't mind if I do the little minor cleaning etc as you suggest. Si Trew (talk) 10:04, 22 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
Update, I have done some of it, but it is starting to sound like a campaign by the newspaper and is rather unblanaced that way, RS or no. The French and Romanian versions really just state the facts, and this one has a diatribe in English about how awful the place is and how terrible the teaching standards etc. I am on the cusp here because these are reliably reported in the national newspaper and by the national government, so there are two RS there (and a few other gossip papers etc) but as it stands it comes across very much as a hatred of this private university and a grudge by one user who has failed to get it past French or Romanian WP in that way. I hope it is not, but it will be quite unbalanced when I finish the tr. Most references are to one newspaper, which is RS but still rather unbalanced. I don't speak but can read Romanian (you have to if you live in Hungary) so it may be an attempt to get it past idiots who don't know where Romania is. I have added internal links and some of them can be doing with brushing up too because essentially they are incestuous links to this article. THis could be just a genuine article but it is starting to smell of POV. I hope not. Si Trew (talk) 11:11, 22 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

It appears that in January 2016 Joel.Miles925 added a translation of the references to the bottom of the article. I think the translation needs to be copyedited, then added to the inline citations. Notre-Dame de la Garde edit

The initial language of this article was French. bad machine translation from travel guide. Once english is made comprehensible will require a re-write for style and tone. I got about 2/3 through a first pass of deciphering. Will require enough knowledge of French to refer to the page on that wiki; it's almost incomprehensible Elinruby (talk) 13:12, 4 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Elinruby, looks like you're doing a great job over there. Have a question for you, and other experienced translator/copy-editors seeing this comment, namely: is there a standard way to leave a "pointer" or other indicator of how far you have gotten, or otherwise to apportion translation/copy-edit tasks among more than one editor?
I looked at this article and it's quite long; jumping around in it, I can see edited portions that are good now, and other sections that range from okay to poor, and it's easy to see which those are, but the article is so long, I don't wish to spend tons of time reading the whole thing just to assess which parts still need work. Not to mention the fact that I don't wish to barge in on the first "poor" section, and end up with an unintended edit conflict with you. Any ideas from anybody on how best to do this? As a first guess, I'm thinking a section on the Talk page of the article itself to discuss how far one has gotten, or alternatively, "I plan to translate sections X through Y next" or something. I'd be happy to help out on this article, but don't wish to duplicate effort or step on your toes. Thoughts? Mathglot (talk) 21:58, 7 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
@Mathglot, if you are interested in picking up on the article, I couldn't be happier; I put it back on the list recently when I realized that I took it off when I started work on it, intending, at the time to finish it, but as you say, it is very long and while my French is quite fluent I don't have any particular background in architecture, let alone religious architecture, in either language. I was worked on several articles on this as a public service back when I was sick and unable to work, and picked this one because I was rather saddened by the comment that it was incomprehensible, which indeed it was. It does seem to be an important landmark, but I have since gotten quite busy and have other translation projects I have also not finished and am more personally invested in. If you do not pick it up and nobody else does either, I will try to get back to it, but meanwhile yes, it still needs considerable help as of about 2/3 of the way through and after that will still need a re-write for style as it was almost certainly a machine translation of a French-language guide book. I'll come back and give a precise indication of where to pick on on translation per se. Elinruby (talk) 19:50, 8 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
My translation-improvement effort stops in the section after "side walls" in Archtecture:Exterior. I worked on that section a bit, I think, but there is an incomplete sentence and I do not have time to go research what it is in fact supposed to say. And @Mathglot, thank you for bringing a template to my attention, possibly it does apply and if so I will try to put it on there anon ;) Elinruby (talk)
Yeah, lots of specialized vocab, it's slow going. Did a few subsections, not sure how much further I'll take it. I may update sporadically as I have the time. Left breadcrumbs in the History so you can see pretty exactly what I've done. Mathglot (talk) 02:35, 13 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
Exactly the right way to do it, @Mathglot:. Church articles are really hard, how one does translate virginals for example? It's very hard. Thou art my downsitting and my uprising, it is kinda impossible to translate it properly. I think the difference between the Roman catholic and Protestant traditions makes it harder, too. Si Trew (talk) 08:38, 10 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
Hi, referring to the entry statement: the article stems from fr:WP, click here for fr:WP article not from a travel guide. Some external links are not available in English version. I noted this there. bkb (talk) 12:02, 18 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
I meant the tone of the French original sounds like it's word for word from a guidebook, so once the translation gets straightened out it will probably need a re-write for readability and tone. As for copyright, I believe their guidelines are different than ours, and I haven't noted a similiarity to any particular text...In any event it's my understanding that a translation from another wiki is ok as long as it is labelled as such. (?) Elinruby (talk) 07:58, 24 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
I know this is rather late to say, User:Einruby, but what I usually do in the midst of translation is say "First draft" or something like that in the edit summary, and in the text itself put a comment <-- need to look this up --> and sign it with the four tildes in the text. Of course we are not supposed to sign texts but that is then hidden in a comment so a future editor can then realise I am not a total idiot, just an average idiot, that at that time I didn't have time while doing all the other fiddly bits to look up some technical term which I can probably translate literally but there is something probably more idiomatic if I catch my breath. I couldn't think of electoral commission earlier, for example, but went back and linked it later. I'll have a gander at this one cos maybe I can do some tidying, now it is settled down a bit. Someone seems to have worked on this. I only skimmed superficially but this does not look bad at all. One comment, if someone wants a nice manageable task, is that a lot of the red links for other Canadian musicians do in fact have wikipedia pages on the french wikipedia, so changing these to interlanguage links by adding a language code might make them more likely to un-redify. I may possibly come back to this as I am interested in the Canadian part but it won't be soon so don't let me stop anyone else meanwhile. Elinruby (talk) 21:49, 29 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
I did quite a bit of work on this. There are one or two things I'd like to get back to, but I think it could lose its rought-translation template (?) I wonder if I can get a French speaker to take a look? Someone else preferably? I've done so much work on it I am a little hesitant about assessing it myself. Thanks Elinruby (talk) 12:01, 29 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
Oh, I'll have a look when I get time. Je peux parler francais comme une vache espanol. It is usually just the kinda idiomatic way of putting it, no problem, we can scrub it together, User:Elinruby. Si Trew (talk) 11:05, 22 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
Thanks @SimonTrew:. It's not so much idiom I am worried about -- my French is idiomatic if a bit rusty for purposes of translation *into* French -- as the sort of thing you miss when you stare at something too long, stray "et" and "le" for example. Also, since Quebec is under-covered there are a lot of red links. I made an executive decision to zap those that didn't go to French wikipedia, but possibly some further editorial judgement is in order. Also, come to think of it, one of the musician names, with an article on French wikipedia, is going to an article on English wikipedia about a lawyer with the same name. I annotated both talk pages asking if anyone had an opinion which one should move; this should be followed up also. But I have had enough of Gaspesie for now. Completed pages edit

This is just an example. Consensus for this section has not been achieved yet. Please see Wikipedia talk:PNT#Completed pages and participate in the discussion there.

When a translated page formerly listed above, either in section #Pages for consideration or in #Translated pages that could still use some cleanup looks good enough from a translation point of view, the article should be moved here. This constitutes a nomination to remove the "rough translation" template from the article, and is the "last chance" before the entry about the article is deleted from WP:PNT.

Other editors are invited to review and discuss entries here. If the translation page doesn't appear ready, its entry below should be moved back up to the appropriate section.

If there is agreement, or no discussion after a certain period, the translation template should be removed from the article, and the entry below should be deleted.
