Silk industry Mount LebanonEdit

Thank you very much for your edits to Silk industry in Mount Lebanon. This was actually supposed to be a draft in my userspace but I only realized today that I created it in mainspace. Will be moving it to my userspace as originally intended since it is still a long way from being ready. —Al Ameer (talk) 18:58, 14 February 2021 (UTC)

Nod, I figured that it was something like that. No worries; most articles start out incomplete. I think you could actually let it stand the way I have left it, but it is up to you. I think you should definitely keep a copy in your draft space at a minimum m, but if you update from your draft space, keep an eye out for other people’s edits. In any event, no apology to me is necessary; articles with no categories, which is what I was working on when I found it, frequently need other work. If you do start over in draft, which is probably the simplest path, make sure you get the missing verb (or predicate clause) in the last sentence of the first paragraph. Cheers. Elinruby (talk) 19:06, 14 February 2021 (UTC)

Had to delete and recreate it my userspace, as it is still very far from completion and I will not be able to give it the attention needed to make it viable for a another few weeks probably. See User:Al Ameer son/Silk industry in Ottoman Syria. If I have not fixed the grammar issue, please let me know or feel free to copyedit. Regards, Al Ameer (talk) 16:55, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
Looks fine. It was just a missing word. Looks like you didn’t drop it when you re-typed. I am interested in the topic, btw, did not know that this was a thing Elinruby (talk) 18:30, 15 February 2021 (UTC)

New Template:Further illEdit

Hi Elinruby, thought you might be interested in new template {{Further ill}}. It's basically a mashup of {{Further}}, which adds a "Further information" link at the top of a section, and {{ill}} which you already know for linking to articles on foreign Wikipedias that en-wiki doesn't have yet. To view some examples in the wild, see:

Oh, and thanks for the ce at LoF ! Mathglot (talk) 08:43, 16 February 2021 (UTC)

aha. Is that how you’ve been doing multiple languages. And I’ll be back at LoF, don’t have the attention span tonight though. I did go through through North Africa Campaign and Western Desert Campaign; next was thinking of comparing these with LoF to see if we hit all of the notes; obviously this will be broader strokes of course. Your charges of intellectual dishonestyEdit

There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you.-- Pldx1 (talk) 11:12, 26 February 2021 (UTC)

@Pldx1: I have already tried to explain to you at least twice that translation is not a copyvio. Have you been reading the talk page? Even if you want to continue to maintain that the article wasn't translated, the {{rough translation}} template is also used for articles where English is clearly not the author's first language, and knowledge of another language would be helpful to anyone else trying to edit it. I really suggest that you click on the link for the Teahouse on the main page. Elinruby (talk) 13:48, 26 February 2021 (UTC)

French Constitution of 27 October 1946Edit

Thanks for your efforts to expand French Constitution of 27 October 1946 from fr:Constitution française du 27 octobre 1946, in particular, the new section on adoption, including the two constitutional referendums. I started adding some links and {{ill}}'s, and one of them was blue (i.e, the ill rendered as a regular, blue wikilink, with no bracketed fr-link), which means that the English article exists already. Lo and behold, it turns out someone created the article 1945 French constitutional referendum back in 2007, which pretty much duplicates the content of just the Referendum section, including the stuff you translated. This perfectly reflects the large overlap between the two French articles fr:Constitution française du 27 octobre 1946 and fr:Référendum constitutionnel français de 1945. I don't know why they bothered having two articles about this in French, or if it was worth having two of them why they didn't just summarize the latter in the former, in a WP:Summary style relationship.

In any case, I just wanted to let you know, in case you decide to further expand French Constitution of 27 October 1946, that some of it may already be in that other article, or—who knows?—maybe in some other article somebody created on en-wiki. Ultimately, I think we should probably merge French Constitution of 27 October 1946 and 1945 French constitutional referendum, but I'm not overly concerned about dealing with that now; I just wanted to make sure you were aware of the whole situation, so you know to look out for content relating to this 1946 Constitution which may already exist elsewhere. Mathglot (talk) 22:53, 7 March 2021 (UTC)

I usually do a straight translation, then edit and wikilink the translation. I really don't ask questions when it comes to French legalese, just try to get the verb tenses right. Is this other article about the 27th October law? I will attempt to unravel. I also wondered why the preamble to this particular constitution rates its own article also. I seem to recall that the Fifth Republic had to do with decolonization?
In any event the sort of extreme bureaucratically infinitesimal meticulousness that we see here probably has its place. Remember what happened in the Third Republic. Clearly the people who planned this transition were being careful to avoid another hero who kept absolute power for himself and therefore they pretty much assumed the French would vote against another Third Republic in the referendum. So how is this constitution notable? Well, women can vote now. The proposed new political architecture was what they called a "rationalized" parliamentary system. I have questions about how to say that in ten words or less. But in any event, yes, if there isn't a concordance for the French constitution, it would be nice to have an overall survey. As far as this document is concerned, it came to be as a result of the LoF but I can summarize it in a couple of sentences Elinruby (talk) 23:38, 7 March 2021 (UTC)

Category:Disambiguation pages in need of cleanupEdit

Hello, Elinruby. You recently added 'Category:Disambiguation pages in need of cleanup' to the page Tmolus (mythology). That category is only a container for disambiguation pages that have dated clean-up tags, either {{Disambiguation cleanup}} or {{Hndis-cleanup}}; the category should not be added by hand. If a disambiguation page needs cleanup, you can add the appropriate cleanup template. In this case, though, Tmolus (mythology) does not seem to be a disambiguation page – at least, it is not formatted as one. I have therefore removed the category from the page. Happy editing, Cnilep (talk) 02:27, 28 March 2021 (UTC)

@Cnilep: all I really know about disambiguation pages is that I get yelled at if my wikilinks go there. The page certainly needs something, and lists multiple possibilities for the name, is all I know. I see from other notifications that it's being dealt with with page moves, which is fine with me; I was only there because it was listed as needing categories. Cheers for the post however Elinruby (talk) 03:27, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
