In Tekken 6, I've recently achieved all the levels except where you have to fight Alisa after fighting Jin Kazama and I need help. I've read questions and answers on Q&A websites, but none of them are any help to me. I'd appreciate any help because I've been trying for many many days now. I know other people have said that to try and finish her henchmen before her, but the controller leads me to her instead. Lastly, I've posted this question on the Wikipedia:Reference desk/Entertainment section, but no one ever replied. SwisterTwister talk 20:35, 8 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

To anyone who finds this, I need help finding the place to ask a question other than the Help desk, I used to remember but I forgot. Thanks for any feedback.

There used to be a New contributors' help page (Ok there still is), but it has changed in function - I mention this one in case it is the one you were thinking of.
You can get specific help at Requests for feedback, although it is understaffed.
You can also ask technical questions at Village pump.
Are any of these the one you were thinking of?--SPhilbrickT 01:46, 28 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Actually, yes. I was looking for the Wikipedia:Reference desk. Thanks, Sphilbrick. :) SwisterTwister (talk) 01:53, 28 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

But you're right, this question belongs at the reference desk, and that is the only place where it belongs since it's entirely unrelated to editing Wikipedia. The question of where to ask is thus done. The underlying question about the game is not the proper subject of a helpme request, and is, in any event, extremely unlikely to be answered even if it was because this type of request only calls a small number of users to your page who monitor such requests so it is statistically unlikely to garner an answer. If you can't get an answer through the reference desk, you may not be able to get help on Wikipedia, but reposting the helpme request because you have not is not going to get you anywhere I don't think. You might try some off-Wikipedia places, such as asking an expert at the gaming section of allexperts. By the way, the nomral posting order on Wikipedia is always to have new post below old--this post would normally be placed at the very bottom of your page, which you will find will make it easier on responders because it is what they are used to.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 09:11, 9 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Blanking Sandbox

Hi, I did not understand your message. What is blanking the sandbox? I am brand new to Wikipedia. Does it refer to the header at the top of the sandbox in the edit screen? I accidentally deleted the first time, and it instantly reappeared, so I assumed it was somehow protected. But if "blanking" means something else, let me know. Tnx for help. About your request in the 29 May 2010 AfDs

Hi, SwisterTwister,
First of all, please don't let a dispute with another editor (or any number of other things) put you off continuing with the Wikipedia project. From your contributions my opinion is that, though it's been a bit of a bumpy ride, I would urge you to stay around and keep contributing.
All that said, please read Wikipedia:Right to vanish, which outlines what steps you can take if you really want to have your user and talk pages deleted.
In summary: please stay and contribute; if you really want out then please read Wikipedia:Right to vanish

About quotation marks

Just so you know, Wikipedia's MoS demands that all articles, even ones written in American English, use the British/LP punctuation system. Darkfrog24 (talk) 00:26, 31 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Your edit?

I have no idea what you are talking about. Can you please be more specific? ---RepublicanJacobiteThe'FortyFive' 01:06, 23 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Well, yes... I looked at the history and I see a recent anon. edit in which a nonnotable cover of the song was listed, with no source provided. Were you that anon. editor? If so, or if not, a cover of a song, with no source to show why that cover was notable, is just cruft, which adds nothing to an understanding of the song or its importance. Ok? ---RepublicanJacobiteThe'FortyFive' 01:28, 23 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Recycling Photos

Hi. It seems you really like recycling, but the photos you are adding to numerous articles are problematic. Galleries of photos devoid of any context serve no encyclopedic purpose, and should be avoided. If there are articles on cities where recycling is an especially notable topic, you should write about that in the text of the article. --LordPistachio talk 22:01, 2 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Even where the galleries already exist, their appropriateness is questionable. As per the policy on Image Galleries, galleries are not to be used to shoehorn in images that don't fit otherwise or have no encyclopedic value. And since every city in the developed world has recycling bins, sticking photos of them in every article does not serve to advance the reader's understanding of any subject. --LordPistachio talk 22:11, 2 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
You hit the nail on the head when you posted this: "Hmm, I see your point now, to not add something so trivial to an entire country." The point is simply that things that are ubiquitous features of any city, country, etc. shouldn't be mentioned in an article unless they have some kind of special significance to a particular place. Thanks for your understanding! --LordPistachio talk 22:19, 2 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Cover versions

I notice that you are adding information regarding cover versions to Song articles. However, the information and hence the cover version needs to be notable e.g. for commercial success or mainstream critical aclaim. Simply being listed on a site such as All Music does not establish notability. Note that Hey Jude is a WP:FA and achieved that status without referring to any cover versions (and that this has been discussed on its talk page); also, as a FA, structural changes (such as new sections) should ideally first be discussed on the article's talk page. HTH. Wrapped in Grey (talk) 09:41, 19 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

(In response to your question on my talk) There is nothing that you can do to make a cover version notable; notability of a cover version is established by one or more reliable secondary sources that record the fact that the cover version has e.g. achieved commercial success or critical acclaim. For example, Joe Cocker's cover of With a Little Help From My Friends is a notable cover version having achieved both. Yes, I know that there are many non-notable cover versions currently listed in Wikipedia; I remove them whenever I have time. Note that a song may be notable for having had many cover versions made; if this is so then it will have been documented by a reliable secondary source. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wrapped in Grey (talkcontribs) 08:49, 20 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

I will second Wrapped in Grey's concern. Most successful popular songs have been recorded by many others. Most of those other versions are of no special interest, and listing them out generally does not add any value to an article about the song and indeed weakens the article. Only remakes that were hits themselves or otherwise achieved importance need be discussed. In some cases, WP projects have set up separate articles, for example List of cover versions of U2 songs, just to keep this kind of material out of songs articles. Wasted Time R (talk) 03:50, 21 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Here's another opinion on the matter. Wasted Time and Wrapped in Grey are correct here. Just because a fact is verifiable does not mean that it should definitely be included. If every song article listed every single cover that ever existed, the pages would be huge. As such, we try to list only particularly notable covers on pages. This is really based on two policies: WP:INDISCRIMINATE, which says that we need to be selective in what we include, and WP:TRIVIA, which states that random facts shouldn't be introduced into an article. So for example, Jimi Hendrix's cover of All Along the Watchtower is worthy of inclusion on the song article because of how popular it was, whereas some small indie band playing the song wouldn't be listed because of how it's relatively unimportant. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 19:15, 23 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
(posted on HelloAnnyong's talk page): I understand that, but what was odd was they seemed to have said the same thing about articles that didn't have any cover sections. What's wrong with that? Adding cover sections to article? SwisterTwister (talk) 19:30, 23 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Again, just because a cover of a song exists doesn't mean that an article should list it. If a song was only covered by non-notable bands or in an otherwise non-notable way, then the article shouldn't have a covers section. It's not the case that a section of non-notable covers is better than having no section at all. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 19:35, 23 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Actually, discard what I said on your talkpage. I understand fully now. SwisterTwister (talk) 19:36, 23 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Re: Excuse me??!!

The definition of "smooth jazz" has been taken liberally by a number of stations for the duration of the format's existance. WNWV in Cleveland was just as guilty when they were known as "Smooth Jazz 107.3 The Wave," and they were standard bearers of the new age/smooth jazz format for nearly 22 years. In fact, that's really what "smooth jazz" should have been called all along. Just my opinion, but WJZA was clearly the norm and not the exception here. - Nathan Obral (talk) 02:57, 9 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Marked as Patrolled

Just a little request. I've just come across a couple of articles you'd tagged on the unpatrolled list. I'm sure you already know, but if you scroll down to the bottom of the article, there will be a little link in square brackets that says "mark this page as patrolled". Clicking that means it'll get taken off the unpatrolled list and so no-one else will come across it on that list. I've marked them as patrolled. If you didn't find the article via the new pages list then just ignore me; you won't have had the option to mark it as patrolled. Fly by Night (talk) 22:54, 17 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

The page William Bagget Busa looks like it may be a valid CSD, but I prefer not to delete a page unless the creator has been notified. I understand that sometimes automated tools fail to do the notification for some reason. Not sure if that was the case, but could you make the notification?

I realize you did notify re Marla Hanam Busa. I recently agreed with someone observing that too many notifications can be discouraging, so perhaps that was your thinking. In fact, I'll assume that was the case, so I'll add a note to the page (my long term hope is that Twinkle could do something like this.) You need do nothing, except maybe look at my notification, and think about how we should handle multiple notifications in the future.--SPhilbrickT 02:44, 19 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi David. Thank you for paying attention to the Toure page and being diligent about making sure no vandalism happens there. Please allow me to explain the edit I made: the erasure of a fact that's no longer a fact. (This is Toure writing.) I made an edit to the page—I erased something that is no longer true. I was slated to teach at CUNY this fall. That is no longer going to happen. So in the interest of honesty I erased it. I have learned that I should not edit my own page and have been honoring that but I thought this instance was different or unique in that the fact that that event (my teaching at CUNY) is now not happening is not something that would be announced and is not something most people would know anytime soon so I felt there aren't others who could be trusted to make that edit in a reasonable amount of time. So if I didn't do it now then the unfactual thing would stay up for a long time and possibly create a situation where it looked as though I was lying to make myself look better. Or that I'd have to answer questions that made it seem as though that was happening. Dishonesty about academics is seriously frowned on and I was simply hoping to avoid that misunderstanding. Could you possibly restore the erasure of that fact so that the page can be honest and up to date? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.193.54.246 (talk) 16:29, 17 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy tagging

Hi. Thanks for doing New Page Patrol, a very valuable and necessary task. A couple of points about your recent tags:

 • Beverly and Qamanirjuaq Caribou Management Board - if you can answer the question "What is this about?", then WP:CSD#A1 is not the right tag. This was clearly about the Board, but it gave no indication of importance so db-corp, i.e. WP:CSD#A7 would have been fine, and that's what I deleted it for. It's important to choose the right tag, so that the article author gets the right message.
 • Joshua Opada - once again, you can tell what it's about, so even though there's no information A1 is not the right tag, A7 is - db-person in this case. Also, you tagged it only a minute after it was posted: that's really too soon unless it is absolutely clear the article is no good. New users often put in only a word or two and then press "Save page" to see how it looks: it is WP:BITEy and unwelcoming if a speedy notice pops up at once. I agree this one looked like an autobio and was unlikely to be useful, but better give it a few minutes. By the way, there is a useful template userfy to give people who post an article about themselves, which tells them about their user page while emphasising that this is not a social-networking site. You can see what it looks like at User talk:Jopada314 where I have added it. It is a bit more welcoming than just deleting their autobio page, and you never know - some of the ones who come here thinking this is another Myspace may become useful contributors once they understand what it's really about.

Your question re RFA

Although your edit count is respectable, I think your chances would be much better if you wait a bit. I notice these numbers from Part 3 of this interesting page:

 • The (average) edit count of new admins has increased year on year. From a midpoint of ~11,000 to ~19,000.
 • Only one person since 2009 has gained adminship with less than 3,000 edits (He had over 1 million edits across wikis)
 • Editors who passed with less than 10,000 edits - 2009: 44 (36%), 2010: 20 (26%), 2011: 5 (18% so far)

Things that are certainly looked for are:

 • at least some constructive article work - DYKs, GAs, FAs are all good, but less important than many people think, I myself have very little, but in fact it was not a problem at my RFA
 • accurate CSD tagging
 • accurate contributions to pages like AIV and UAA
 • contributions to discussions such as AfD displaying a sound understanding of policy - because closing AfDs is one of admins' more contentious jobs
 • no (or not much) record of losing one's cool in stressful situations

Those may give you ideas for areas to work in to improve your experience.

I am not really a good person to ask about this, as I am not an RFA "regular", and for that reason I have not spent any time looking at your actual record. I suggest you spend some time reading recent RFAs, particularly failed ones, both to see the sort of issues that are raised and also to see if you can identify some regular contributors who would be better people to ask. Look for people who do not always support, and who seem to give sensible reasons. You will also see, and should be warned, that RFA can be extremely stressful - there are complaints about this, but I don't myself think it a bad thing, because an admin can expect stress and abuse and needs a thick skin.

A-Lin

Hi, you tagged that as unreferenced. This was incorrect. What was needed was to help the article creator with the reference in the infobox by putting ref tags around it and adding a references section. Along with this, the refimproveblp tag was appropriate. Incorrectly tagging an article as unreferenced can be rather WP:BITEy, and should be avoided. Thanks, LadyofShalott 23:21, 22 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

I had no intention of being bitey but because the "references" cited were written as text and didn't have any indication of tabs, and you'll find a clickable link called Reflinks in your toolbox section of the page (probably in the left hand column). Then click that tool. It does all the rest of the work (provided that you remember to save the page! It doesn't work for everything (particularly often not for PDF documents), but for pretty much anything ending in "htm" or "html" (and with a title) it will do really, really well. So long! --Sp33dyphil ©© 05:19, 28 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Note

After some time on wikipedia I realized that it is important not only to revert but also warn (those who have vandalized before) - otherwise they can't get blocked for any reasonable period. Warning is easy - there is a standard subtituted template which can be copy/pasted from some notepad window or even typed in, like ~~~~ or ~~~~ , and the keywords are intuitive: unsourced, test, vand, spam, npov, biog, error, etc. Cheers. Materialscientist (talk) 06:12, 16 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

I cross with you at WP:RCP (good work, by the way) and see that you do warn, but not always, and just wanted to share my experience. I also skip warning when I "know" that there is little chance this IP will edit in a foreseeable future, but I try to warn any time I see that this IP did vandalize before. We don't know "who sees the warning", and it is often more than one person vandalizing from a school IP. Yet, we can't block that IP if not warned. "Quaker Universalist Fellowship" article editing

David,

I'm Mike Shell (Crippled Wolf), newly registered with Wikipedia, and a member of the steering committee of Quaker Universalist Fellowship.

We do not know who created or has been editing the article. However, we would like to make it both more accurate and more informative for readers.

A colleague of mine on the committee has been trying to expand and correct this stub article, and her edits keep being undone. Could you give me some guidance on the process? I have a lot of text and references which we could add, yet I don't want to go around in circles.

Thanks, Crippled Wolf (talk) 15:56, 4 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Re: Quaker Universalist Fellowship article

Friend,

Thanks for your reply earlier today, informing me about COI issues. I understand and value the principle, though it's a bit troubling to discover that someone else has created an article about our organization which we ourselves are not allowed to correct.

I have left a message on the article's talk page asking for collaborative help.

User:Danceyman

Hey, thanks for the welcome, I have a friend on this called Danceyman, and he was banned indefinitely for vandalism, but he didn't do it, the reason I know he didn't do it, is because I did it, I was really drunk at the time, Danceyman is a non-alcoholic, and we hacked his account and vandalised axl rose and Nickelback, looking back on what I've done in the past when drunk made me give up alcohol, but Danceyman is paying the ultimate price, he did make an appeal, but it was turned down by a user Kuru, I've messaged Kuru, but he has ignored me for some reason, but continues to answer other people's queries which is quite frutrating, but I know you'll listen to me because you're a very friendly wikipedian, and I'm really sorry what I did to those pages, but I want to benefit wikipedia in a positive way now, and I'd really appreciate it if you let Danceyman back in, he's a really nice guy. Thanks for the welcome.

Thanks for the welcome and the info on why the page was flagged. The page I am referencing is the one for Martha Ballard. The older version was better organized and more usable in an educational setting. I have used the old page in the past for some of my classes (in fact that is how I discovered the new version as I reference it at least twice a year). The newer version reads like it is an uploaded middle school book report. The older version had better citations and a greater diversity of information as well as links to other pages.

Re: "It does not matter who puts a speedy deletion on an article???"

I am new to the whole Wikipedia editing process, but something is wrong with this picture!!! (re: "It does not matter who puts a speedy deletion on an article???"). It appears that anyone can vandalize a work - with of without cause? I don't really care about the Henry Adams article, I am more concerned with the basic principle / practice.

Questions:

Can any Wikipedian, at any level, delete an article? &

Is there a process whereby an editor can appeal a decision to delete?

Thanks Mormonfaith101 (talk) 03:11, 4 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

How many is too many links?

Hi David -- As veteran Wikipedian, perhaps you can tell me how many links are appropriate to an article. I've read the help sections are there doesn't apear to be a definitive answer. See the related Embroidery article, it contains many of the links you removed.

Thanks for your help on Royal School for the Blind (Liverpool)

Cheers for correcting my silly error in missing the refheader on the above page I started. I'm making a number of edits on articles about visual impairment organisations, particularly on Merseyside. It's the first time I've made anything beyond the odd grammatical correction - I wondered if you'd mind casting your eye over another similar (but more in depth) page I've started, Bradbury Fields? Messages on Lake Worth Historical Museum page

Hi, I see that you left some comments on my new page regarding the Lake Worth Historical Museum. I assume that you are a volunteer and so appreciate the time you spend making Wikipedia a reliable info source.

I attempted to address your comments by adding references and links. Not sure what the protocol is. Do you go back and look to see if the concern has been addressed? Do you then delete the comments from the top of the page as appropriate?

I will be adding more info to this page as well as creating related pages. Just learning the ropes at this point. Thanks, Tedbro (talk) 18:46, 12 February 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tedbro (talkcontribs) 18:42, 12 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Reversals Of Edits/Additions To Contributions

Hi SwisterTwister,

I can see from the article [Alor, Anambra] revision history that you made a reversal on my name and contact details which I added as a comment such that anyone that wants to liasie with me on any of change or contribution which I made on the article can easily get through to me. The reason for my doing so is because I hail from Alor and will like to interact with other users that are also contributing to the article with the view of improving on the existing information on the site about my hometown.

t's because there is no Canada-college-stub, you have to use Canada-university-stub. As you can see, the Canada-university-stub is mentioning college: "This Canadian university, college, or tertiary institution-related article is a stub". SwisterTwister talk 04:35, 4 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
Not all view Québec colleges as post-secondary, and consider it equivalent to "Grade 13". A high school diploma from Québec does not meet the prerequisites for University (or College in the US) admissions. In Québec it is considered post-secondary, so how do we objectively evaluate? Klara Min -- ok to remove PROD BLP?

Hi SisterTwister, I see you removed the PROD BLP at Klara Min, looks like because a cite was added to "New York Concert Artists & Associates." However, "New York Concert Artists & Associates" is Klara Min's own organization. It isn't an "outside" cite or reference. Does that still meet Wikipedia criteria for removal of the PROD BLP? Thanks for helping educate me... (I'll look for reply here.) Zad68 (talk) 14:31, 6 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

I was not aware that it was her organization. It can be used as a reference, but it would help the article if third-party sources were added as well (see Wikipedia:Third-party sources). Third-party sources will help achieve notability. SwisterTwister talk 22:18, 6 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for both the welcome and the warning. So I beg your prardon and for your assistance: Please tell me directly whitch external link is excessive or inappropriate at your guidelines here. Same wish at category: I did set Category:Fibers and Category:Composite materials and do not know what´s going wrong with it. Good

I love the description given by you in your user page....especially the last lines which say, "We aren't tolerating vandalism. We will warn. Vandals, expect us." You seem to be a Wikipedian who simply hate vandalism.....like me!! My question was that what will happen if are unable to give even one reference like some of these pages have or don't have references.....if they have it's very less. The pages are: Samta, Madanmohan-jiu Temple and Sarat Chandra Kuthi. Please help us by adding reliable resources. Please leave me a Tb template. --Jagadhatri২০১২ 04:28, 21 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

In most cases, if an article is unreferenced/unsourced, it can be either proposed to be deleted (see Wikipedia:Proposed deletion) or simply tagged as "unreferenced/unsourced". The articles (Samta, Madanmohan-jiu Temple and Sarat Chandra Kuthi) seem to be sourced except Madanmohan-jiu Temple. Unfortunately, I believe I would be unable to help with those articles as I am unfamiliar with those subjects. Lastly, I would suggest using "show preview" (located next to "save page") when contributing as this will lower exhaustion on the servers and save history space. It will also allow to change your contributions before officially submitting them. SwisterTwister talk 05:03, 23 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Yes....the articles have been tagged as "unreferenced/unsourced" and I do know that there's a show preview button but as I am very very eager to contribute to Wikipedia I often don't use it and that's the problem my server gets exhausted but when I create a new article I do see a preview. And when it comes to helping by adding reliable resources I can understand that you aren't familiar and you will be unable to help but I just gave it a try. Anyway thanks that you tried to stretched a helping hand towards me. --Jagadhatri২০১২ 07:05, 23 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Vyacheslav Seletskiy

This is a tough one. I found a list of his transfers, so he seems without a team currently defeating any chance of a team bio being out there. If I type his cyrillic name into google news I get results, but I'm struggling to figure out if any are useful even after a translation. Association football's not my strong suit but it looks like sources might exist, so I'm borderline on whether or not to delete it. There was a prod earlier in the history so I don't think it can be prodded a second time; AfD might be best, since if sources exist I'm sure the footy crowd can find them better than I can, and if they don't then it'll be gone. Process Question

Hi SwisterTwister. I'm a noob here and you sent me a "welcome" when I joined so I'm hoping you can help me with this question. I edited an article which included a sentance which didn't at all match the cite. My edit was quickly undone with the comment (Undid revision 483857133 by EdWitt This is a GA: restoring content supported by a RS) I assume RS means "reliable source"? But the point was the reliable source didn't state what was written in the article. I asked for an explanation but haven't received one yet. Just curious what I should do, what's the process? Thanks. EdWitt (talk) 03:04, 26 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

The article is Nissan Leaf. The sentance in question states, "An optional CHAdeMO fast charge receptacle can be added for US$700, but is only available as a factory installed option, only on the SL model, and it is not compatible with the SAE J1772 standard connector now in use in the US."

The cite states, "The likely standard won't be compatible with the "CHAdeMO" quick-charge hardware in your Leaf, or any of the other Asian electric cars that offer it."

Today there is no SAE fast charging standard and it has been delayed many times. The cite says likely standard, thats a long way from an actual standard. EdWitt (talk) 03:16, 26 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. So am I following the correct process? I'm trying to learn here. I could imagine a lot of thrash changing articles back and forth. So if an edit is undone, when it clearly shouldn't have been, what should the original editor do? EdWitt (talk) 03:57, 26 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Loffice page

Hi SwisterTwister,

Thanks for your input considering the Loffice page! I understand what you mean but I encountered some problems in it, maybe you can advice in this? What I tried to do now is make more general references (for example, a general reference to coworking in Budapest which features loffice and other coworking places, and a general reference to the European Coworking Conference instead of to the specific speaker list), you think it is an improvement?

The only big problem now in terms of third party sources is the second reference, the only place I could find a collection of articles relating Loffice was on the Loffice website itself. Do you think it would be better to make specific links here (for example: Elle Dekor Magazine, issue 7/2011) to a few of the publication?

I understand where you're coming from, but this is Felix Cartal, a canadian dj... the links/references are the best I can post. He isnt interviewed by Rolling Stone or any other type of massive publications really. I have NME, Pitchfork, CBC, Itunes, Punknews references that do fit the criteria, only 3 sources are from blog interviews, which is really the best place to get printed information on the artist. Please try to understand that and not putting that tag up all the time. Why did you tag this as needing wikification? WhatamIdoing (talk) 23:16, 1 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

At the moment, I put the "wikify tag" because I thought the article could an infobox and may be simpler than adding multiple tags. I can change the "wikify" tag if you think it seems more appropriate. SwisterTwister talk 00:18, 2 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
I don't believe that any relevant infobox exists, and therefore it is impossible to add one. Besides, what would you put in an infobox?
Perhaps in the future you'd choose to use Infobox requested in such instances. WhatamIdoing (talk) 04:00, 2 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Your question...

Sorry for the delay in responding to your question. My recollection of that exchange is that it had to do with the ongoing debate/edit war over the IMDB's Top 200 movies list, and whether it should be mentioned in The Shawshank Redemption article. The long-standing consensus among experienced editors is that it is not relevant, that the voting is by fans, and that IMDB is not a reliable source. But, it keeps getting added again and again. Take a look at the article talk page for the repeated discussions of the issue. ---RepublicanJacobiteTheFortyFive 14:21, 2 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

sorry wasn`t you after I looked closer. What happened was while I was writing someone called chris had cleaned it up a small bit and when I tried to save my new info, the site asked me to re-check my info and decide what to save in upper and delete in lower case. So got kind of confused after the page went blank.

You know more about this can me so could you delete the page I might try again some other time. Sorry again, it was my first ever attempt. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Johnnymc1984 (talkcontribs) 22:43, 6 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Please suggest improvements for article on SBI Youth for India

Hello

This is regarding the SBI Youth for India page i created. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SBI_Youth_for_India

I had ensured that all content mentioned in the page is taken from published newspaper articles in Indian national dailies. Also, i had taken the content pattern from already existing pages of such programmes (Teach for India, etc.).

In case, some portion appears promotional please can you mention specifically so that i can immediately remove/re-edit it.

Please help. This is my first article on Wiki. :o)

Disambiguation link notification for April 7

Hi. When you recently edited Now That's What I Call Music 38 (N.Z. series), you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Good Night, The One That Got Away and I Like It Like That (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

I'm always reluctant to block the editing of a talk page, and usually do so only if it's used for abuse. Since this is the first transgression in two years, I've added a warning, and put the page on my watchlist. I'll remove talk access if there is any recidivism. Help for Uchunari Coffee page

Since this morning I have worked on the content and the aspects which were not neutral. I think it's better now but I would like to have your advice on it, please. My talk page

Why did you blank my talk page? I have an archive, and I liked my cookie. 71.234.215.133 (talk) 04:04, 19 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

I removed the message as future users of that IP address may see and believe the message/warning is for them. This helps prevent irrelevant warnings from being seen by future users of that shared IP. Second, I moved the message to the archive box. SwisterTwister talk 04:07, 19 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

I am a static IP. I have had this IP for years. 71.234.215.133 (talk) 04:09, 19 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
I also have a talkback on someone else's page. The final conversation should stay, at least for a while. 71.234.215.133 (talk) 04:11, 19 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

You may restore the content if you wish. SwisterTwister talk 04:12, 19 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

It is my understanding that, aside from a few editing features, IP editors have the same rights as registered editors; this would include other editors not editing or deleting an IP's comments, including on their own talk page. As I dislike the idea of having my talk page arbitrarily archived, please point me to the policy or guideline you are using to justify erasing IP talk pages, that I may read it/them and decide in what fashion I wish to continue editing. 71.234.215.133 (talk) 12:15, 19 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

See this guideline. I believe the "you should never remove another user's talkpage content" applies to registered user talk pages.

As you can see, I will archive warnings using Old IP warnings top and Old IP warnings bottom. However, when there are only one or two warnings, I'll simply blank the page and tag the article OW. Warnings may be removed if the IP user has seen the warning(s). There are also bots that archive old IP warnings (User:SharedIPArchiveBot). SwisterTwister talk 18:27, 19 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi again. I was looking at using Twinkle for doing the CSD tags, but unfortunately, not being Autoconfirmed, it doesn't work for me. It's a shame, because I know that Twinkle does both together - place the tag and warn the user. Is there any other way I can do that? Doing it manually is fine, don't get me wrong, it's just a bit faster with something to help. I'm off to bed now as it's very late in the UK, so I'll catch any reply from you later today. Re: In response to your feedback

Indeed it contains foreign language. ClueBot is nothing but a 'BOT' ultimately. What I can say in support to the 'popularity' claim is I, myself. I have seen that movie a lot of times. Besides, if you always ask for written proofs, then I'm sorry! I still think contributing on Wikipedia sucks! I am damn sure you are not Indian, otherwise, you wouldn't have to ask me proof in support of that 'popularity' claim. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Orioncaspar (talkcontribs) 11:36, 21 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Re: Sholay

Ok, here I found some authentic resources in support of the 'Popular Dialogues' of Sholay. Here you go:

Sholay on IMDB Sholay dialogues on IBNlive Sholay dialogues with proper translation

I hope these three references are enough. By the way, I wouldn't recommend the reference of IMDB as there are no original dialogues available, all are translated. Other two references are very much authentic. Let me know your reply.

You can remove this notice at any time by removing the Talkback or Tb template.

Blue Shark Optics

You removed PokerPlayer1973's removal of content here, I believe the user was removing unnecessary information from the article. As you can see, the article seems to be advertising and contains unnecessary information such as "history of sunglasses" and "safety". SwisterTwister talk 18:51, 3 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Nicely spotted - on first glance it looked as if the editor was removing a whole bunch of useful content, but it seems that all of it was unrelated to the article. I've deleted the page itself as (very clear) copyright violation of multiple sources. Of the 4 segments i Googled all 4 proved to be a straight copy-and-paste from various other sites. Atsushi Shimono

How, exactly, do you want the image to look? Which page were you editing? It would be helpful to know that. Daniel Case (talk) 21:53, 7 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

I want the image formatted to the infobox. Usually, I'll be able to fix these situations myself, but I can't seem to format it correctly. I've attempted removing the "" and moving the caption to a separate caption section, but it'll show the image as "File:Atsushi Shimono.jpg". SwisterTwister talk 22:26, 7 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
According to the template documentation at Infobox football biography, you must use the normal image syntax: Use the full image syntax, including the markup, a size, and alt text. Do not use the "thumb" or "frame" attributes.
I'll see what I can do. Daniel Case (talk) 23:29, 7 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
OK ... it looks like what you want (I removed the month and day from the caption because, frankly, those aren't important in the long run). If this is how you're planning to do future such images, hope it helped you learn. Daniel Case (talk) 23:34, 7 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
I appreciate your help, I'm not a frequent user of football bio templates. I assumed the photo would appear without the "File:" as usual in other cases. SwisterTwister talk 02:16, 8 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thank you lots-- Grasch2014 (talk) 00:17, 9 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Yes, that is the article. I have a updated image... but i don't understand how to put that image in. Like when you commented on my talk page, you said: "If there is an existing image, you can simply replace that image with the new photo". But what I do not understand is how to replace it. like, do you type in the link, or what about if you drove by it today and took a picture of it and you would like to insert it. Sorry if I'm being a bother, I'm just trying to learn the tricks of Wikipedia. ;) Thank you always--- Grasch2014 (talk) 23:20, 9 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

You recently reinforced the rejection of my page, a rejection that still doesn't make sense. The page Trauma Plate, isn't a page, but a redirection to the page ceramic plate. A ceramic plate can be a TYPE of trauma plate or a ballistic panel. All of this is explained in the page that I created but continues to be ignored. The redirect that exists is extremely miss-informative and needs to be repaired. Making my submission the page for Trauma Plate, while leaving the ceramic plate page as the link referenced in my page should solve the issues that exist. I don't understand why this is so difficult. Thanks for cordial welcome

Thanks for your kind words and encouragement. I’m pleased for the basic things you taught me. My first article was deleted on the very first day of its creation because I could not stand by the policies and guidelines strictly. I worked hard in collecting references and other evidences for the article entitled “Dinesh Kumar Mani”. I studied seventeen newspapers’ reports on him out of which nine I’ve quoted as inline citations. I also quoted pages from his book as references but mistakenly used some of the sentences from his website.

Initially I was upset but after reading ur referred articles I got inspired to write the article again without breaking any policies and guidelines of Wikipedia. In this regard, I need ur cooperation and believe that you always motivate beginners like me. Maharathi (talk) 10:12, 16 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Draft:Busby Productions

Thanks for re-reviewing Draft:Busby Productions. I took my steer from Hat Trick Productions, a production company Busby have frequently partnered with. I'm a little unsure about where we fall short compared to their article. Could you help, please? I appreciate "additional amount of in-depth third-party news sources overall" is required. But looking at Hat Trick, would like to know where exactly we'd have to top up. Thanks so much. natz 11:24, 12 April 2016 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nadworks (talkcontribs)
