I have been editing on Wikipedia for nearly ten years and during that time have met some really obnoxious people - rude, aggressive, self-opinionated and think that their view and only their view is correct. I wish to have nothing more to do with it. I'm out for good. -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 05:09, 18 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Please reconsider edit

Wikipedia is indeed full of people who know they're right, god knows I'm one of them. But please don't let a bad encounter drive you away for good. Wikipedia needs editors like you who keep away from confrontation and get on with creating and maintaining quality content.

Whatever you decide, all the best with the rest of your life, and genuine thanks for what you've done here. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 08:40, 18 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Regardless of our recent altercation, I have to agree with Struway. It may not have seemed like it to you, but I was trying to have a constructive discussion with you, so I hope you'll come back and engage with us once again. – PeeJay 11:07, 18 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
Hope you come back, buddy. Andre666 (talk) 12:28, 18 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, come back, you are a credit to the project.--EchetusXe 16:32, 18 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
I'm going to echo all of the above, you are a valued member of not just FOOTY but also the Project as a whole. Please re-consider. GiantSnowman 16:41, 18 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
Yes, come on fellow, don't let the rudies let you down! Putting the Project aside to do something else for a short while seems a healthy step to me after the annoyances, but then take a look at your non-neglegible (and appreciated) additional value as a Wikipedia-authority. Kareldorado (talk) 15:32, 1 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • Wish you nothing but the best, i'm leaving also for good after the World Cup. Ironically, my list of "People whom i have encountered who are full of it" also includes ME, so you see it's not fun anymore. You take care, hopefully your next visit to my country will be even more pleasant than the last one.

Kind(est) regards --AL (talk) 22:31, 13 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for everything you've done for the project. I do hope you reconsider and come back soon. Best wishes, WaggersTALK 10:57, 26 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of John D Wood & Co. edit

The article John D Wood & Co. has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Pure promotion.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Bishonen | talk 09:10, 21 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Bishonen: I have requested the undeletion of this article which was deleted in 2015 as a result of an uncontested wp:PROD. I wanted to see if the article really was Pure promotion. If you decide to take this article to wp:AfD I would appreciate being notified. Ottawahitech (talk) 14:25, 5 July 2016 (UTC) please ping meReply
Yes? And surely now you can see that it's pure promotion and unsourced, Ottawahitech. I frankly don't feel like bothering with it any more. Have you considered taking it to AfD yourself? Or indeed improving it? Bishonen | talk 14:35, 5 July 2016 (UTC).Reply
(edit conflict) @Ottawahitech: It looks purely promotional to me. This was the only non-promotional, non-routine coverage I found with a cursory glance online. You might consider requesting userfication rather than leave the article intact or go through an AfD. Chris Troutman (talk) 14:37, 5 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Possible removal of AWB access due to inactivity edit

Hello! There is currently a request for approval of a bot to manage the AutoWikiBrowser CheckPage by removing inactive users, among other tasks. You are being contacted because you may qualify as an inactive user of AWB. First, if you have any input on the proposed bot task, please feel free to comment at the BRFA. Should the bot task be approved, your access to AWB may be uncontroversially removed if you do not resume editing within a week's time. This is purely for routine maintenance of the CheckPage, and is not indicative of wrongdoing on your part. You will be able regain access at any time by simply requesting it at WP:PERM/AWB. Thank you! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 23:36, 8 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
