Question about the correct evidences for band members edit

Thank you for making the members' page of QUIET RIOT! Do you have any correct information for them? I made the similar page but I can't find the certain info (when they joined and when they left), especially for Pat Ashby, Bobby Rondinelli, and DOWN TO THE BONE TOUR bassists. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Akatsuki S (talkcontribs) 02:55, 1 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thought Contagion edit

Hi. Thanks for expanding Thought Contagion, however, when you did you changed accessdates I put there from 24 February to 23 February. It was 24 February where I live at the time, so these did not need to be changed, even if "re-accessed". I'm not saying you did it in bad faith, but there was no reason to do this. Thanks. Ss112 07:58, 24 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Also, we don't need publisher defined as a reference parameter where we already have work; see Template:Cite web. The website is no longer Pitchfork Media (it's been just Pitchfork for nearly, if not a decade). Also, you changed ref parameters from work to publisher for a publication like Spin. This isn't correct to do either. Also, I've restored the original spacing the first post-stub revision used in references per WP:CITESTYLE. Unless there's good reason to change it, we shouldn't, and I don't see that there was. Just letting you know for next time you expand an article. Ss112 08:06, 24 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
Hi. I don't ever change the spacing of sources and stuff like that consciously, I just rewrite the whole thing from scratch when it's so short. Just giving you an idea of how I work. Yep, I keep forgetting about the work/publisher stuff, and didn't check that Pitchfork Media was still called that. My bad! I am still trying to get out of the habit of defining both work and publisher instead of just one, as I've been doing it for a long time. Thanks for reminding me. Creeper edit

Ok, so Southampton is well known... it must be on a level of like Los Angeles or Chicago, I presume? As a clueless American, I ask: what are the others (besides obviously London) in the UK that have similar cases? dannymusiceditor Speak up! 14:41, 26 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi, @DannyMusicEditor: I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but I'll assume not.   Southampton is certainly not as notable as somewhere like LA or Chicago, but as the only city in the country with that name it is safe to assume that close to 100% of people who know of Southampton would not confuse it with somewhere else of the same name. I'd say that's the test, although obviously that's off the top of my head and not really a scientific approach (I'm sure this has been discussed elsewhere on the site, but I can't find anything myself). Anywhere with a unique name like this doesn't need a county added, in my opinion (and you were right to remove it from the lead section for consistency). If there is potential for confusion between two similarly-sized places, then the county should be added (for example, Ripley, North Yorkshire and Ripley, Surrey), or if a much smaller place with the same name as a potentially confused larger place (for example, Leeds, Kent instead of Leeds). Adding a county is not the same as adding a state in the US, from what I can tell; in other words, it is much more common to hear "Boston, Massachusetts" than it is to hear "Southampton, Hampshire". Andre666 (talk) 15:18, 26 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
No, I meant it  . Sorry if I came across sarcastic. The response is helpful. dannymusiceditor Speak up! 00:10, 27 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

1923–24 Southampton F.C. season edit

Congratulations on the season articles. You have made a mistake, however, regarding the friendly matches against “Corinthians”. These were against the amateur clubCorinthian F.C. - these matches are recorded in the history of Corinthian. I will try to edit the article on the next few days. Ah, I was not aware of this! In the Southampton books I have, they are listed as "Corinthians". This would make much more sense, though! I will edit them, not to worry. Thank you :) Andre666 (talk) 13:39, 16 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
Do you have any record of what league they were in during these seasons? Andre666 (talk) 13:41, 16 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

I've edited some of the other seasons as well with the detail from the Cavallini book, including goalscorers for Corinthian. Corinthian never played League football. Their ethos was opposed to any form of competitive football, although they did make a few FA Cup appearances late on. 2A00:23C5:8D07:B000:6C02:1FEE:4A66:9A04 (talk) 07:30, 17 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thin Lizzy members page edit

Hi, I don't agree with merging the two sections. This is not what we agreed previously. Bretonbanquet (talk) 21:56, 16 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi again. Sure, I remember our conversation, however on reflection I no longer see the need for two different sections. The splitting of 'original' and 'recent' based on whether or not Phil was in the lineup is not really based on much. Also, with two different sections it means people like Sykes, Gorham and Downey are repeated, which is not necessary. Thin Lizzy is one band, not two, and since 1996 it has continued without Phil. One timeline, one band. Sorry for changing it, but it's not consistent with other band member articles to split it out just because of the view that "Phil Lynott was Thin Lizzy". Andre666 (talk) 09:53, 17 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
If that had ever been my view then that would be a fair point. Consistency with other band articles is not required. The splitting was because of the long hiatus between periods of activity, and the fact that the second period was never intended to be a full time band. No recording was ever planned or ever took place. That is a very significant difference between the two periods. The other errors I brought up before have never been addressed, and there are still mistakes and misleading statements in it. I shall at some stage make some changes to address these and I shall probably reintroduce the splitting of sections. Merging the sections should have been discussed given our previous differences and the compromise we worked on to resolve them. Bretonbanquet (talk) 11:40, 18 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
A long hiatus between the different lineups shouldn't inform a split like that. It's the same band with the same name and (at one point) many of the same members. There's no substantial reason for the split, I realised. I'd recommend we open it up to other editors before it starts getting messy and we start reverting one another. Andre666 (talk) 11:42, 18 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
A long hiatus plus the fact that after the hiatus they were only a part-time band which never recorded nor intended to record, often considered a tribute by its own members. It only exists at the shows it plays; there is no band activity outside the shows except a rehearsal before a run of shows. Same name perhaps but with an entirely different MO and raison d'etre. Lots of temporary members, and now, a rhythm section made up of stand-ins doing occasional shows, which is not clear from the current article. Tom Hamilton was not in Thin Lizzy for three years. Mikkey Dee was never in the band, never rehearsed, never played. Between early 2017 and the first show later this summer, the band was/is on hiatus. Bretonbanquet (talk) 18:23, 20 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
How's that look? Andre666 (talk) 18:34, 20 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
A lot better. I think the way you've done it, it doesn't look complicated or confusing at all. I don't think it's a problem repeating a couple of members. Thanks for that, Bretonbanquet (talk) 18:46, 20 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

We Are Not Your Kind edit

Hi. If in future you intend to "overhaul" an article that you did not create (that didn't really have any problems to begin with and where you clearly mean "expand"), it would be appreciated if you use the pre-existing reference style/order (per WP:CITEVAR). Also, please do not misuse the start date template by using it in the singles template or anywhere else outside of the infobox template itself, per its documentation (Template:Start date). Also, Template:Infobox album no longer requires hardcoded flatlist formatting (it's automatic when we list items with bullet points), nor the duration template (per Template:Infobox album#length), and we also don't link to well-known places like Hollywood, Los Angeles or California (per Template:Infobox album#studioWP:OVERLINK applies). Also, please don't unnecessarily rename sections—the standard heading these days is "Charts", not "Chart positions", and also I don't agree with reception being split into one-word subsections. Also, Hits Daily Double is not a reliable source, it's a prediction website with unclear methodology, so that has been removed. If you have any issues with these changes, please go to the talk page and discuss them. I'm not saying you would, but please don't edit war over them as WP:BRD applies. Thanks. Ss112 12:12, 16 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Well, thanks for all that criticism, I'll be sure not to spend 2 whole days of my free time researching and writing high-quality, well-sourced content for an important, high-traffic article in the future. List of The Guess Who members edit

If you would like to enhance the List of The Guess Who members article, such as adding individual photos of every member, please do so within the article structure that has been established. Your recent actions to completely overhaul the article are ambitious but you introduced a lot of formatting errors, wiped out several reliable sources (yours can be added to those already present), removed the required infobox and section headers, and mangled the timeline illustrations. Also it is completely unnecessary and redundant to repeat the band's entire history, which is freely available at their main article, and two versions of the same historical info would probably become inconsistent over time. This article is called "List of..." for a reason. I think you can enhance the "Lineups" sub-section in useful ways, but that does not justify overhauling the whole thing. Thank you. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 15:17, 22 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

How you can think the current format, with incorrect and missing information, terrible formatting, and confusing sectioning, is acceptable, is beyond me. Just being territorial, I imagine. I'll leave it with you though, this isn't the first time someone has unilaterally decided my hours of research and writing are unacceptable for no reason. I don't care enough to edit war with you. Good day. Andre666 (talk) 07:20, 25 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Creeper again edit

Greetings old friend,

We both seem to be less active than we used to be on here, but I am looking for a new challenge to bring forward to the GA nomination podium after having finished two features through this year, and I very much like the way you have worked on this band's material. I had been hoping over the years that perhaps you might bring it forward yourself, as I had done a few of your album works previously years back. However, upon doing my due diligence with an activity check, it seems to me that while you're obviously still around, you seem less busy, and I would like to ask if you have any intentions of helping either Creeper themselves or Eternity, in Your Arms toward the green marker. If not, would it be alright if I took it on in your stead? dannymusiceditor oops 01:00, 6 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi Danny, I'm definitely still active as much as I can be! Life has become very mad busy though. Good to hear from you again. Yes, very happy to give the articles some more attention, been meaning to flesh out some more stuff around the SDIV era based on some articles I have. Let me know what needs to be done and what you want me to do to help. Andre666 (talk) 18:25, 7 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
To hear that you have even more content for them around SDIV is great news, especially considering the album's own article probably needs more work than either of the two others. I think the biography personally is already quite strong and the closest toward the goal so far, so if there's more to that era that you can offer I'm sure we'll have a quality presentation among the nominees. E,IYA needs some writing on the temporal background of the time it was conceived/created, but otherwise that one looks pretty good too. dannymusiceditor oops 15:16, 8 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Creating navigational templates and Template:Start date edit

Hi Andre. In regards to Template:Sleep Token, for future reference, if an artist does not have at least five articles to link to besides their main article, it probably does not need a navigational template yet per the informal "rule of five" at WP:NENAN. Also, please do not use Template:Start date outside of the infobox proper, where it should only be used once per the template's documentation. Thanks. Ss112 20:30, 6 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Im inquiring about the removal of Rob Silver from the "Asleep At The Wheel" page. I was told he was actually in the band and was wonder if you could confirm that for me. Whosmydaddy1981 (talk) 05:16, 19 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
