Hello, it looks like you're going through same confusion I did when trying to work out the best names for various aerial cable transit systems! I'm trying to find some good references and explanations but it's not a thoroughly covered topic online. The best I can find is The Gondola Project. The article on the unit Bar could use some additional information. What are the fundamental units of Bar (Kg/cm^2)? And the article reads like the SI committee won't accept it as a SI Metric unit of pressure for reasons other than it is NOT compatible with the modern SI Metric System! It is no more compatible than accepting an imperial unit of pressure such as PSI. In the SI System, mass and weight/force are two completely different things. If you multiply pressure by area in the SI Metric System, you get force; namely, a Newton (Kg meter/sec^2). Multiply Bar by area and you get Kilograms. That mass has to be converted to weight/force to bring it into the SI Metric System. How can you do any numerical analysis with an ambiguity of not knowing if a person means kilograms as mass or kilograms as force if kilograms can have an accepted double definition. How long has the SI Metric System been officially adopted by "metric countries" now and people still can't let go of the past.

The relationship between the bar (unit) and the kilopascal is simple and direct. Both are derived in a similar manner. So 1 bar (100.0 kilopascals; 1.0 kilogram-force per square centimetre) or 100 kilopascals (1.0 bar; 1.0 kilogram per square centimetre). So the bar, the hectare and the stere fall in the same category, namely older metric units that are still in use. The fact that they are not included in the International System of Units is for daily purposes immaterial. @Etan J. Tal: I found that there is now dual gauge in Yangon. It looks like dual gauge 1,435 mm (4 ft 8+1⁄2 in) standard gauge / 1,000 mm (3 ft 3+3⁄8 in) metre gauge? The difference does not appear to be big enough.

Longhorn and Western Railroad

Hi, I’m a volunteer at the Texas Transportation Museum. I saw your addition to the L&W page about the tracks being constructed by the Texas Transportation Company. This is false. The tracks were hand built by volunteers at our McAllister Park property. TTM was founded on the Texas Transportation Company’s old tracks at the Pearl Brewery in 1964, but moved to the new location in 1969. Counterweight brake

Hi Peter, I'm confused. You redirected counterweight handbrake to the non-existent German Wiki de:Wurfhebel-Handbremse. I changed that to redirect to de:Wurfhebelbremse which does exist, but then noticed it had been translated into English Wikipedia as counterweight brake. CIT Roussillon // Clarification

What clarifications do you need? Only routes 100 110 120 and 130 go to Terminus Centre-Ville. All the others require transfers at Georges-Gagné Park and Ride. See your example of route 31: The portion from TCV is in a different font and isn't and the grid. That's because users need to take the previous/next 1X0 route to get to TCV. I removed most of that because it's confusing. This can be solved but it needs investigation. How is your laptop connecting to the internet at the moment? Is it using a wifi connection or a phone connection? Does your laptop use some VPN software to connect to the internet via a VPN? Roughly how long will you be in Mexico? A week, a few months, indefinitely? The point of that question is that there are some temporary workarounds that can be applied if you are only there for a limited period. @ST47: Can you please look at this (you blocked Special:Contributions/31.14.72.0/24). The laptop is connected to the internet by WiFi to the modem of the cable provider Megacable https://www.megacable.com.mx which also provides me with WiFi for my Apple Ipad as well as a land telephone line and TV. @Johnuniq:, @Peter Horn:, it looks like this IP address range is used by a VPN. Per the proxy checker, it is likely to be a hosting provider, which VPN companies usually use to host their serevrs. If you disable your VPN, you should easily be able to edit. You may need to clear your cookies from en.wikipedia.org (or simply wait 24 hours) after disabling the VPN, due to a MediaWiki feature called a "cookie block". @Johnuniq: The range 31.14.72.0/24 is a hosting range, the current block settings are correct. The most likely explanation is that some VPN service is being used. If Peter isn't intentionally using one, it's possible that it's something bundled with their web browser or their security software. Avast and AVG apparently have the same ownership now. You probably ran a setup program supplied by AVG and it installed various software on your laptop. Part of that probably was a VPN which causes your laptop to communicate over the internet using an AVG server with an IP address in the 31.14.72.X range. Anyone can install the same AVG software and use their VPN server. That makes it an "open proxy" which is why it was blocked. That is not a problem for you during the next six months because of the IPBE right. However, if you use the laptop after six months, you will have the original problem and you would need to find a better solution because IPBE is for exceptional and temporary circumstances.

By the way, in the future you should consider using better anti-virus software such as Avira. For example, see this story about how Avast/AVG browser extensions have apparently been exploiting customer privacy. I have seen other reports that they are not optimum. Hello Peter, I generally don't mind additions to articles that I have created, but I would appreciate if they appeared a bit more reasonable. Frankly speaking, I doubt that your edits were improvements at all, since you added a couple of little errors to every single article that you have edited, and these errors required fixing. However, some of your edits have clearly demonstrated (at least to me) that your intent was "North-Americanising" these articles rather than improving them. I have seen removal of sourced information because you didn't understand that information, and wikitext comments such as "in North America, we NEVER use this and that". The Unimog isn't North American, and its description in the English Wikipedia doesn't have to be "North American reader friendly", it just has to be in English, which it is (and was). I like sticking to the source information, and if it's "not North American", the article becomes "not North American". As long as the source information is not obviously erroneous, that is fine! There is a lot of differences between "North American" and "European", and we can't make Wikipedia homogeneous. I make a lot of errors myself, especially spelling errors, but in your 19 edits to the Unimog 421 article, you didn't make any apparent attempts of fixing them. So please, be a bit more careful. I try not to introduce errors but I tend to work fast so at times it happens. That said some models of Unimog are probably sold in N. America and like in the case of passenger car engines and even of diesel locomotive engines, the engine displacement is given L. Formerly it was given in cubic inches. In addition our American friends and readers do not know what is a kW and even less often what is a PS. Anyway, it is a Wiki convention that if a vehicle of any sort is dimensioned the metric dimensions are given first and by using template:convert the imperial measures follow generally in brackets. If the vehicle of any sort is dimensioned in imperial measures then by using template:convert the metric dimensions follow generally in brackets. Hello Peter, as I've said, I generally don't mind these additions. But outside the US, engineers usually don't stick to US conventions. I find it a bit bizarre to assume that Daimler-Benz would immediately abandon the conventions associated with the metric system if a vehicle is sold in the US; in this particular case, the Unimog was not even sold in the US. What I actually found to be unfelicitous was the way you put the convert templates into tables that aren't covering technical specifications. I'd say that I've put some thought into sorting Unimog models, types, and series so the reader somehow gets an idea; I wanted to put as few information in there as possible, but still enough information for the reader to be able to get the key points. It wasn't meant to be "exact" wheelbase/engine power output figures. For instance, instead of writing something like "wheelbase 1234 mm", I could have written long/short wheelbase; and instead of engine power output "23 kW", I could have listed the engine model. I've chosen to put actual figures since I felt they were saying the same thing in an easier way. But with the addition of the convert template, some fields now have up to nine different numbers, which I find to be too much. I was also confused by the removal of kilopondmetres (something that was very common in West Germany in the 1950s and 1960s), as well as the conversion from litres into gallons for engine displacement. On your user page you write that you are a retired draughtsman; I am not a draughtsman by profession, but at university, I attended mechanical draughting classes, and to me, designing a cylinder using inches and having a cubic inch displacement figure makes perfect sense. But a gallons figure doesn't; I'd assume it's something liquid that I'd pour into the fuel tank or oil filler neck. I reckon my message has got too long already, so I stop here. Have a good evening! This is NOT about manufacturing practices and standards of any given company. Instead this about giving cyclopedic info to two culturally different groups readers. One group of readers understands only the imperial system and the other group or readers, the majority, understands only the metric system. Personally I'm of a third group that understands both but prefers metric. Decades ago I owned in Canada in turn at different times three NSU cars. As was the marketing custom at the pre metriction days, the displacement one was marketed as 996 cc (60.8 cu in) (4 cylinder) the other two were marketed as 600 cc (37 cu in) (Two cylinder).
