Hello there, Aoba47. How's everything with yourself? Good I hope. BTW, I've nominated this film article about a poignant yet funny love triangle starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead. As always, your comments would be most welcome and beneficial to the overall improvement of the article. I will be willing to do any QPQ for you. Thanks. — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 08:46, 16 July 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you for your message, but I have already supported the nomination. Aoba47 (talk) 17:09, 16 July 2019 (UTC)
May the fourth be with me, no pun intended. Since you commented on previous FACs, I hope you will do the same here. I have now shortened the article substantially. --Kailash29792 (talk) 10:33, 16 July 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you for the message. I will look over it later this week if that is okay. If you have the time, I would greatly appreciate any feedback on my FAC. Either way, I hope you are doing well! Aoba47 (talk) 17:08, 16 July 2019 (UTC)
- Your comments have been resolved, Aoba. Do have a look and let either of us know if there's anything else. Thanks. — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 14:30, 17 July 2019 (UTC)

- Thank you for the comment. Unfortunately, I do not have the time to do a GAN review right now, but good luck with it though! I have never reviewed an article about a book so I would not feel 100% comfortable or the right fit for it. Aoba47 (talk) 19:42, 19 July 2019 (UTC)
Hey there, I'm in the process of copy editing your requested article Little Eva: The Flower of the South.
I have a question regarding the following sentence:
Cozans had also published several children's books, including the alphabet book, Little Eva, the First Book in 1853 and 1855.
How many books has Cozans published? Two, or three? What are their names? Can I add "respectively" after the years?
I will continue to copy edit the article tonight and over the weekend. Thanks. —Bobbychan193 (talk) 00:25, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
- @Bobbychan193: Thank you for the message. I do not think the word "respectively" would make sense in the context as both publication dates refer back to the same book (Little Eva, the First Book), but I respect your opinion/choice as I could be wrong about that. I am not certain exactly how many books he has published as I could not find a source that supplied that information. I hope that helps and makes some sense. Aoba47 (talk) 00:44, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
- Okay. So if I'm understanding correctly, the author published several children's books, one of which is the alphabet book called Little Eva, the First Book? And this book had two editions published in separate years? —Bobbychan193 (talk) 02:48, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
- That is correct, at least according to what I have read from the sources. Aoba47 (talk) 02:57, 20 July 2019 (UTC)

Yet another FAC
editHey Aoba47. Glad to see you back online. You probably don't even remember me, but you commented at several of Jill Valentine's FACs, and also wrote a review for Antichrist Superstar, which I never got around to nominating for FA—for one reason or another. Jill's last FAC was unsuccessful, and I was given advice from one of the coordinators to "work with an experienced, uninvolved FA writer before renominating". I consider the "uninvolved" aspect to be a bit of a red herring, because no uninvolved editor with that level of experience is going to involve themselves with this topic once they see its history, so I have no qualms about disregarding that specific word. But I've spent the last six or seven months clicking on the userpages of everyone who has nominated an article for FA this year, and couldn't see anyone who came even remotely close to your experience. How many FAs do you have at this point? 40? That really is amazing! So I was wondering if you'd be interested in collaborating with me to help get Jill's article through the FA process? It's cool if you don't have the time/energy to invest in a topic like this, but I genuinely think you're the best person for the job. ;) Do you see anything I could do to help get this past FA? Thanks for your time. Homeostasis07 (talk) 21:38, 21 July 2019 (UTC)
- @Homeostasis07: Thank you for the message, and I hope you are doing well! My biggest suggestion would be to read through the suggestions from the previous FACs and peer reviews to identify areas that require further improvement and note any trends over different people's comments. It can be hard to read criticism (and I still need to learn to be better at it), but I think it would be a gesture of good fait if you genuinely try to address the comments so a more constructive discussion can be formed. I would try posting on the appropriate WikiProjects to see if you could get uninvolved editors to look over the article. I would also look at at successful FAs on video game characters, like Lightning (Final Fantasy) and Tidus, to get some inspiration. I will definitely read through the article sometime in the future; surprisingly enough, I have never played any of the Resident Evil games, although I have seen the movies lol. Let me know how the process goes! Maybe one day I will get to 40 FAs lol. Aoba47 (talk) 23:57, 21 July 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks so much for the feedback. I've rewritten 'Reception and legacy', trying my best to address that one opposing user's most actionable criticism: that the section "wasn't a cohesive whole", and needed a "holistic rewrite". I've tried to do that, although I'm sure they'd label my attempts "inadequate", yet again. What do you think of how the section currently reads? Most everything else they said seemed to be based on confusion on their part (i.e., they believed Mikami directed Resident Evil 3, and used that as a springboard to rant about the article containing "fallible" "overweighted" "self-assessment"... which is "contested by other sources" in the article). But something else he repeatedly complained about was the position of the sentence "
Neither character appeared in the 1998 sequel, as the production team sought to retain the level of fear found in the original game by introducing similarly inexperienced characters.
" I'd love to get an unbiased opinion on that, since he claimed its current positioning left the article "mired in details". I ended up undoing their request after realising that multiple users disagreed with him during the last peer review. It's something he'll continue to complain about, I'm sure, so I'd especially love your opinion on that. Or any other specific aspect of the article you believe I could improve. And I definitely agree that it's time to get the appropriate WikiProject more involved in this. One of the biggest problems this past year has been the fact that I'd primarily been rewriting the article based on "advice" from one particular editor. A wider consensus is definitely needed at this point. And I'll make sure to mine Lightning's and Tidus' articles in the near future. That's very helpful advice. Thanks again for your time. This has been genuinely helpful—something I couldn't say about my last "collaborator". This has been much appreciated. ;) Homeostasis07 (talk) 01:32, 22 July 2019 (UTC)- I find reception sections very difficult to write. I recommend [Wikipedia:Copyediting reception sections|this resource] fairly often, but I honestly find it helpful to get a handle on this type of writing. I do not think the sentence quoted above is an unnecessary detail, but I am wondering if the prose could be improved. The beginning "neither character" is a little too similar to the start of the last sentence "both characters" so it would be best to avoid that. I am also wondering if there could be a better transition from talking about the first game to the sequence because someone could possibly find it somewhat jarring. In the future, would it be okay if I did a copy-edit on the article? I would encourage you to revert anything that you believe is not helpful.
- I have two quick comments about the article. I am not sure about having two images in the "Concept and design" section as it is a little crowded. I would suggest that you replace the Shinji Mikami image with the Voth image; the picture of Shinji Mikami is not particularly helpful, but I feel the Voth picture illustrates a point made in the prose. I am also uncertain about having the merchandise information in its own section. It seems rather short, but I am not entirely sure where to put that information either. Just wanted to leave you with two things to think about. I hope that people respond on the WikiProject pages as it is always helpful to get a greater perspective on things. I hope that this helps at least a little. Aoba47 (talk) 02:04, 22 July 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks again for the suggestions. I made all of these recommendations, but neglected to mention in my last (overly-long... sorry) message that I'd mined Lightning (Final Fantasy) for what I thought I could transfer to Jill Valentine. I'll read Tidus over the next few days, and also try to take what precedence I can for Jill's article from there. And feel free to edit the article as you see fit. It makes a hell of a nice change from my last "collaborator"—who complained about this and that and another thing and then some additional thing, but then became aggressive as soon as I asked him to fix "this and that and another thing and then some additional thing" himself. I'd almost forgotten Wikipedia can be genuinely collaborative. ;) Homeostasis07 (talk) 01:56, 23 July 2019 (UTC)
- @Homeostasis07: Great work with the article so far. I certainly admire your dedication to it. I will look over the article either at the end of this week or sometime next week if that is okay with you. Collaborations can be a tricky thing; sometimes they work and sometimes they can fall apart because of differences in personality or bad timing. On a random note, if you have the time, I would greatly appreciate any insight for my current FAC? I understand if you are busy though. Good luck with everything! Aoba47 (talk) 02:12, 23 July 2019 (UTC)
- Hey again. Sorry for not responding to your message at Jill's talk page. I hope I didn't piss you off. =( It's been a ridiculous weekend. But I really appreciate your edits to the article—all of them, but especially the 'Other appearances' section. One of the things I hated about the article before was how both that section and 'Merchandise' were so short, but you've managed to expertly merge the two into something a lot more substantial than I could ever manage on my own. So thanks for that. ;) Just thought I'd let you know that the final thing I plan on doing with the article before initiating the talk page discussion at WP:VG is to read the S. D. Perry novelisations of the games, so as to incorporate all of the most important character aspects/developments and plot
holes... I mean, devices, that I can. I read the first chapter of one of those books long ago (forgot the title, but it was probably The Umbrella Conspiracy), and I thought it was absolutely awful. But I might be able to read the whole thing over the next week or two. I'll then e-mail you (if you don't mind) jpeg screengrabs of specific pages, and try to gauge your opinion (on site) as to how I could incorporate those details into the article. Again, thanks for your time and effort so far, and I'll try to work ASAP with the novels. ;) Cheers, Homeostasis07 (talk) 22:21, 29 July 2019 (UTC)- @Homeostasis07: It is all good. Take as much time as you need to respond to anything. I removed the message from Jill's talk page and I integrated the information in the article. However, I was unable to find a source for Jill's appearance in Onimusha Soul. I am glad that I could help in any way. And reading the books sounds like a good plan to me. The books sound like they could definitely be better, but they still seem like fun and silly reads lol. And it is good to make sure everything is in order before posting on the WP:VG. Feel free to message me anytime! Aoba47 (talk) 00:38, 30 July 2019 (UTC)
- Hey @Aoba47: figured I'd just write this here, instead of bothering you with a new section. ;) And I'm sorry about the delay in replying – yet again – but it took longer than expected for me to get enough free time to read The Umbrella Conspiracy all the way through... which was genuinely a waste of time (and €6.99), I'm afraid. There really is nothing of substance to extract from the book, aside from what was already included in the article (her father being a thief and her military background being completely ignored—which came across, to me anyway, as more of a plot hole/error than anything else). Otherwise, the book is similar to the games, in the sense that bad stuff happens, the protagonists react, and by the end you can't tell if the "heroes" are any better or worse off for the experience. There really isn't much "character development" to speak of. The only thing I could potentially extract from the book is about Albert Wesker, who was never given much screen-time in the games, save the obvious "I'm a bad guy doing bad things!" antagonism. Knowing what I know from playing [the majority of] the games, there was an interesting bit near the end about his motivations... but that wouldn't be relevant to Jill's article. Anyway, thanks so much for your time and for all your help with the article. I really did appreciate it. This made such a nice change from the sort of "collaboration" I'd become used to. You're an awesome editor! ;) Homeostasis07 (talk) 23:31, 4 August 2019 (UTC)

@Homeostasis07: You can feel free to message me anytime! And take as much time as you need. And that sounds about right for a Resident Evil book lol. I am genuinely surprised that Wesker is not given a lot of screen-time, because I have seen a lot of fans of the character online; however, a lot of that attention was for his "You Will Give Me An Egg!" quote so it is probably interest in the meme over the actual character lol. I am glad that I could help.
I still have a lot to learn as an editor, but I try my best to improve over time. You are the truly awesome editor here lol. I love fictional character articles (if you look through some of my earliest contributions on here, a lot of it was these kinds of articles) so your work on the Jill Valentine article really does inspire me to go back to it, and maybe even choose a video game character. I have no idea who I would choose though lol. Either way, good luck with it! Please let me know if you need any further feedback on it. Aoba47 (talk) 00:54, 5 August 2019 (UTC)

When You Get a Little Lonely
editHi Aoba, how have you been? Long time no talk. I just want to say, I really like what you've done with When You Get a Little Lonely. It's a huge improvement. I hope I can do a review of it, possibly next week if I have time. I've been busy with another kind of life project and haven't had much Wikipedia time lately. By the way, I see you've made use of Newspapers.com. Coincidentally, a couple of months ago (before I started my current quasi-Wikibreak) using Newspapers.com I also found a goldmine of new references to expand a couple of articles that I brought to GA several years ago. The articles are on the backburner for now, but I'm really excited to get back to them when I have time. (I did the one week free trial of Newspapers.com and took screenshots of lots of articles so I can use them anytime.) Take care, talk to you later! Moisejp (talk) 02:02, 16 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Moisejp: Thank you for the message! Apologies again for how I left things with you last time. You were correct with your assessment that the article was underprepared. I was able to get access to Newspapers.com through the Wikipedia Library Card Platform, and it was a lot of fun to dive deep into the archives to learn more about the album. I am trying to be more thorough with how I conduct research and take on projects. I completely understand if you do not have the time to do a review; you have already helped immensely with the article so thank you for that. I would be interested to see how your Wikipedia work goes as you are always a great editor on here. I am doing well, thank you! Just trying my best. How is everything with you? I cannot believe it is already August. You take care too! Aoba47 (talk) 02:36, 16 August 2019 (UTC)
- Interesting, I did not realize Newspapers.com was available through Wikipedia Library Card Platform. A number of months ago I signed up to NewspaperArchive.com through Wikipedia Library Card Platform, which was a little bit fruitful, but Newspapers.com was about ten times more fruitful. I'll have to look into that sometime when I have time, for future projects. I'm doing really well too, thanks for asking! Moisejp (talk) 03:00, 16 August 2019 (UTC)

DYK for A Rugrats Kwanzaa
editOn 19 August 2019, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article A Rugrats Kwanzaa, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that "A Rugrats Kwanzaa" was one of the first mainstream television episodes to feature Kwanzaa? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/A Rugrats Kwanzaa. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, A Rugrats Kwanzaa), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

- @Amakuru: Thank you for the note, although I am curious on why the hook was included on the front page without the picture? It is not a big deal, but it was approved with the image and I am not aware of a discussion of running the hook without it took place. Aoba47 (talk) 00:42, 23 August 2019 (UTC)

Atsushi Nakajima (Bungo Stray Dogs)
editHi there. In the past months I've been trying to expand the articles from the series Bungo Stray Dogs. After creating Atsushi Nakajima (Bungo Stray Dogs) and I referenced everything while bringing up as much real world information as I could, I had the article copyedited. Its size is not that big considering the series is still ongoing. If possible, could you give it a review one of these days? I promise it's really smaller than that last time I made a GA nom. Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 00:21, 25 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Tintor2: Thank you for the note. You have done so much to help in the past so it is really the least I could do. I will definitely pick it up for a review. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend so far! Aoba47 (talk) 01:50, 25 August 2019 (UTC)
Atsushi Nakajima (Bungo Stray Dogs)
editHello:
I see that the original Guild editor who provided the c/e for this article has been contacted by the GA nominator and agreed to work with them to improve the article. I think under these circumstances it would be best (and politic) to let them work on Atsushi Nakajima (Bungo Stray Dogs) together. I did edit the lede.
Regards,
Twofingered Typist (talk) 11:36, 26 August 2019 (UTC)
- That is probably the best outcome in this case. Thank you for letting me know, and I hope you have a great start to your week. Aoba47 (talk) 18:49, 26 August 2019 (UTC)
- The article has been copyedited with Flowerpiep also giving it a look (he/she has also made some good GAs in the past if you remember). Do you think I should nominate it?Tintor2 (talk) 21:50, 4 September 2019 (UTC)
- @Tintor2: It is up to you. If you nominate it for a GAN, I would be more than happy to review it again if you would like. There is a "clarification needed" tag that would need to be addressed first. Aoba47 (talk) 22:18, 4 September 2019 (UTC)

A co-nomination?
editHey again. The talk page discussion was archived a couple of nights ago (16 days since everyone was pinged, as well as a grace period, so more than enough time for anyone with any genuine concerns to respond). I was wondering about what Tintor2 said during that discussion: would you be interested in being a co-nominator for Jill Valentine's next FAC? Please feel free to decline if doing that might get in the way of your own work. You've invested more than enough time and effort into the article already... much more than I ever expected. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for all the work you've done, because compared with my last "collaborator", this was a hugely beneficial experience. I really appreciate that. Let me know if you're interested in being a co-nominator, or I can just re-nominate it myself tomorrow. The FAC template says you can have 2 active nominations so long as you're a co-nominator of one of them. And I'll hopefully be able to return the favour by reviewing your current nomination. ;) Cheers. Homeostasis07 (talk · contribs) 22:30, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Homeostasis07: Thank you for the message. I was actually going to message you soon about the progress with the article. I have enjoyed the experience working with you, and you have honestly done most of the work so you should be proud of how far the article has come along. I would honestly be happy either way so it is up to you. I have never done a co-nomination before, but I will definitely help out with addressing the suggestions from reviewers. Hopefully, this time around it will end successfully. Aoba47 (talk) 01:36, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks for correcting the number of FAs you've written on my intro. I counted 32 at your user page just a few months ago, and I know you had a few more since then, so I figured "nearly 40" was pretty accurate. Looking now, I guess my memory combined your FAs and FLs together. But, still, do you know you're in the top 50 Wikipedians by successful featured article nominations? Pretty damn impressive. ;) And please don't feel pressured into doing anything you don't want to do at the FAC. I'm more than prepared to do most – or, all – of the work. ;) Homeostasis07 (talk · contribs) 01:36, 29 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Homeostasis07: No worries. I am proud of all my FAs and FLs. It is crazy to look back on them, particularly now that one of my FAs is featured on the main page. I was very lucky to be able work with so many different editors to get the articles and lists that far. I really owe a lot of it to them. You have done an awesome job with the "Jill Valentine" article, and I would be more than happy to help as much as I can to get it to that FA status. It is no pressure at all. I have genuinely enjoyed learning about Valentine and working on the article with you. I am looking forward to how the FAC turns out. Aoba47 (talk) 01:48, 29 August 2019 (UTC)
@Homeostasis07: According to this source, Jill Valentine was originally going to be the lead character for the first Resident Evil movie. This source also discusses this. I think it would be beneficial to add a brief sentence/part to the beginning of the first paragraph of the "Other appearances" subsection. I hope that helps. Aoba47 (talk) 17:42, 29 August 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks for the sources. ;) I wasn't able to use the Variety one, because it seemed to be referring to a different film than the one that was released—it was talking about a script written by George A. Romero in 1998. Unfortunately, that film was never made, and instead we got the Paul W. S. Anderson films. Shame, because Romero has some pretty huge credentials in the horror film genre. He could've easily made something more substantial than the Anderson series. I guess we'll never know... =( Homeostasis07 (talk · contribs) 22:59, 29 August 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you for double-checking. Apologies for that as I did not read the article in full so that was my mistake. I enjoy Anderson's films, but I am sure Romero would have done a more critically accepted version of the franchise. I would love to read Romero's script and see how much (if any) elements were taken from the games. I have not seen the first Anderson one in years, but I remember thinking it was actually quite good. The later installments definitely took a nose dive in terms of quality, but they are still enjoyable, popcorn films and those are always nice to have. I have a soft spot for Milla Jovovich so I couldn't help but love her in the films lol. I wonder what the reboot will be like. Aoba47 (talk) 23:21, 29 August 2019 (UTC)

editThank you for All Money Is Legal, about American rapper Amil's debut studio album who "rose to prominence in 1999 and 2000 as a protégé of Jay-Z and the "First Lady" of his record label Roc-A-Fella. A hip hop album, All Money Is Legal includes songs about wealth and Amil's personal life. The singles – "I Got That" with vocals from Beyoncé and "4 da Fam" with verses from Jay-Z, Memphis Bleek, and Beanie Sigel – were released in 2000 to promote the album. All Money Is Legal peaked at number 45 on the US Billboard 200 chart, and received a mixed response from critics. Your GA nomination of Little Eva: The Flower of the South
editHi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Little Eva: The Flower of the South you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Barkeep49 -- Barkeep49 (talk) 22:21, 8 September 2019 (UTC)
The main reason it failed its last FAC was because Fowler rained a barrage of comments which are too hard to understand, let alone solve. He even has issues with the film's director Mahendran's officially published memoir Cinemavum Naanum being used as a source even for simple statements (Am I right or wrong? What about him?). Do you believe Fowler's comments are right and justified? Prose is no longer a major issue, but now I'm confused over whether the book can be used as a source even slightly, or not at all. Since he has refused to read the translation I got from the key pages, or right away tell me which of Mahendran's sources can be replaced/removed (replacing those sources is hard as all contents of the book are not there in other sources), I was wondering if you could help. Ssven may not be here until mid-October, and he wasn't even very active during the FAC despite his promise that he would be. This is how I felt then (I still do). If Fowler is reading this, I want him to know I harbour no more ill will towards him, I regard his FAC comments (at least most of them) and I'm trying to solve them all to end my mental strain. But if I try to solve something, he always says I only further ruin it. So please help. --Kailash29792 (talk) 18:23, 11 September 2019 (UTC)
- @Kailash29792: The memoir should be considered a reliable source. It is a primary source, but I can understand how it would be used to support information about the film's production. It is the same reason that interviews with actors and directors can be used in a film article to support similar information. I have to disagree with Fowler if they are saying the memoir is not usable at all. I am not read through all of their comments on the FAC so I cannot say with 100% certainty on that matter. Maybe Numerounovedant would be more help as they have done successful FACs on films. I have two film articles that I would like to put through the FAC process, but I am not super familiar with this particular area.
- With that being said, it may be best to take a break from the article if you are feeling any type of "mental strain". There is not a time limit to getting an article through the FAC process. I had an article fail an FAC about a year ago, and I recently put it through a successful FAC. I am not saying you have to wait that long, but there are benefit to getting distance from your own work. That way you can come back to it with a fresh perspective. I understand that having an FAC fail can be discouraging. I have had some pretty awful reactions to it in the past, and I have hopefully grown since that time. I am not sure how much help I can really be. I would encourage you to put your mental health first and seriously consider taking a break from at least the article for a short period of time. That is just my advice though so you can take it or leave it. Aoba47 (talk) 20:44, 11 September 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you for those uplifting words Aoba47. At this page, Fowler said,
The problem here is that we have a book of recollections of J. Mahendran, the director of a movie, Mullum Malarum: Mahendran, J. (2013) [2004]. Cinemavum Naanum [Cinema and Me] (in Tamil). Karpagam Publications., published in the Tamil language, unavailable under the author's name on WorldCat (see here and here), or in the Library of Congress Catalog, or on Google books (all three list Tamil language publications); never translated; very likely not peer-reviewed before publication; and to my knowledge, not reviewed in an English language journal or newspaper after publication (see here) These recollections were being employed for citing text added to the Development section of the movie . Its assessment proved very difficult for this reviewer.
- and later, "that uncataloged memoir is not appropriate except by way of one or two vignettes that support statements in reliable secondary sources". This is what nearly sent me into a downward spiral, even though there have been quite a few third-party sources confirming the book's existence like [1], [2], [3], [4] and [5]. The least I could do is rewrite each statement attributed to his book into something like, "Mahendran stated that..." or "In his book Cinemavum Naanum, Mahendran wrote...", not nix it altogether. But I'll listen to your advice, take a break from this article and wait for Ssven to return. Meanwhile, since Fowler shared his revision of the complete plot with you, can you suggest further plot rewrites/corrections based on that? I made one correction, the "frolicking" part. - It's the weekend Aoba47. I hope you have time just for the plot section, because I want to correct any "error" pointed out by Fowler. Kailash29792 (talk) 06:37, 15 September 2019 (UTC)

Advice needed
editI have no plans to make a GA nomination but I've been working on Shinya Kogami to expand its real world information to the point the fictional information is short in comparison. I thought about making a voice actor subsection since his original actor talks a lot about him, information about the English one is lacking. Do you think a subsection for the creation section be made? Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 01:05, 19 September 2019 (UTC)
- @Tintor2: A voice actor subsection makes sense to me. Naruto Uzumaki has a similar subsection type so it can be done. Good luck with it! Aoba47 (talk) 01:09, 19 September 2019 (UTC)
- Yeah, but McCollum onlu made one small comment. I also wonder if the early sketches of Kogami by Akira Amano or the designer would be fitting as additions to the articles considering Amano also talks about her work. I'll try asking in reddit to see if MccCollum said soemthing in the dvds.Tintor2 (talk) 01:45, 19 September 2019 (UTC)
- I think it would be fine since the Japanese voice actor has talked a lot about his role. I am quite unfamiliar with image policy so I cannot comment on that. Aoba47 (talk) 01:50, 19 September 2019 (UTC)
- The article looks good to me with the current edits/revisions. Aoba47 (talk) 20:55, 19 September 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks. I might be able to add more McCollum's comments considering people from reddit replied to me when I asked for info about the series' English DVDs which have interviews.Tintor2 (talk) 21:11, 19 September 2019 (UTC)
- That sounds great! Aoba47 (talk) 21:13, 19 September 2019 (UTC)
@Tintor2: I noticed on the GOCE request page, the copy-editor did not cover the "Appearances" section because they found it "confusing". I agree with this assessment, because the section is missing key point of background information on the show. I tried to copy-edit that section, but I was also confused. There are several words just thrown in the section without much or any context. For instance, I do not know what is meant by "the Specimen Case". It seems like the section was written for someone who already has a background in the show. I would recommend going over it again to make sure that everything is explained, not only in terms of the character's story line, but also in how it fits in the show as a whole. The show has a more complicated story line and setting than others so more care would have to be put in fully explaining everything in a clear and concise manner. Feel free to revert any of the edit that I have made to the article. Aoba47 (talk) 21:33, 19 September 2019 (UTC)
- I see. Basically, the anime is an adaptation of the famous novel 1984 by George Orwell plus a bit of the movie Bladerunner so there is a lot of worldbuilding to explain what exactly is Kogami's status in society. If possible, could you tag some parts you find confusing?Tintor2 (talk) 21:37, 19 September 2019 (UTC)
- @Tintor2: I honestly find the entire first paragraph confusing. The "Specimen case" is never clearly defined so everything about the investigation does not make sense to me. Some words, like "the Sibyl System" and "Unit One", are used without context or definition. I can somewhat understand what an "Enforcer" is in this context, but I do not know what an "Inspector" means here. "Makishima" is mentioned near the end of the paragraph without his full name being given or any context of how he fits into the story. I cannot really address the other three paragraphs, because I could not understand much with just the first paragraph. Aoba47 (talk) 21:50, 19 September 2019 (UTC)
- I hope I do not sound too negative because a lot of great work has been put into the article and it can be quite difficult to work on something that requires more background and explanation than most. Good luck with it! Aoba47 (talk) 22:20, 19 September 2019 (UTC)
- No, no. That helps a lot. I managed to understand what's to fix and was tried to remove the issues you mention and expand a bit on what happens in the first 22 episodes while explaining stuff better.Tintor2 (talk) 22:54, 19 September 2019 (UTC)
- @Tintor2: I just wanted to let you know that I have done a small copy-edit to the "Plot" section. Feel free to revert any or all my edits if you disagree with them. I keep meaning to watch the anime since I first heard about it back in 2013/2014, but I just never got around to it. I hope that I have helped at least somewhat. On a separate matter, I was wondering if you had the time or interest to do a source review for my current FAC? I completely understand if you would prefer not to, but I was just wondering. Have a great start to your weekend! Aoba47 (talk) 03:04, 21 September 2019 (UTC)
