Main box--edit suggestion edit

Hello, I'm Rebestalic.

Instead of just having the PS, Xbox and NES logos on the main box, I think their should perhaps be some more famous console brands; in this case, we can only look to the past, as the former three brands create a triopoly in the console market (e.g. Atari).

Thank you, Rebestalic (talk) 08:28, 15 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Creating a portal dedicated to Atari edit

Hi! Me and some fellow editors have been working recently on stuff related to Atari. I checked the Video Game Portal section here for the first time and i'm surprised to see that there is no portal created for all Atati-related articles. Is there any way to remedy this? Thanks and have a good day everybody! Roberth Martinez (talk) 01:34, 8 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

No one really maintains any of these portals. -- ferret (talk) 01:39, 8 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Incorrect linking from Smurfs in the search bar edit

When I type: Smurfs in the search-bar it automatically fills in (amongst others): Smurfs: Rescue in Gargamel's Castle. When I click on that, it redirects me to List of The Smurfs video games instead of the (existing) article Smurfs: Rescue in Gargamel's Castle... what's going wrong here? Equinoxepart5 (talk) 15:46, 20 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

One article is Smurf: Rescue in Gargamel's Castle and the redirect to the list article is Smurfs: Rescue in Gargamel's Castle - X201 (talk) 15:51, 20 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
Now fixed. - X201 (talk) 15:53, 20 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
(edit conflict)@Equinoxepart5: It's known as a redirect. When a topic doesn't have it's own article or isn't considered notable enough for one, it may be "redirected" to a page that discusses it, at least in part. In this case, over the years this redirect got messed up and was pointed to the wrong place. I've fixed it, it now leads to Smurf: Rescue in Gargamel's Castle -- ferret (talk) 15:54, 20 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Ferret: @X201: Thanx!!! Equinoxepart5 (talk) 15:54, 20 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Gizmondo sales numbers, possible circular reporting? Reliable number? edit

The sales number of Gizmondo is listed as less than 25k, with a source to a 2007 GamePro article. I have doubts. Where did GamePro gain this information? Is it reliable? I don't think so.

This New York Times news article, when the company went bankrupt, says that "But sales have been lackluster. Six months after Gizmondo was introduced in Britain, Tiger recorded $1.7 million in revenue, equivalent to about 5,000 units sold. U.S. sales figures have not been released." This means that this reliable source only has given sales numbers for Britain in 6 months, and claims that figures for the US have not been released.

I tried to search for other sources on Google but have been unable to find anything from the 2006-2007 period stating that 25,000 units were sold, except of course that GamePro article. I am certain that this was then added here on Wikipedia and, this being such a highly visited website, led to circular reporting of that number ever since. Similar to the Casio F-91W article that had circular reporting due to a wrong release year in Wikipedia.

I don't know where GamePro got that number from. It is certainly not reliable enough and I think it should be removed. --Morita Akio (talk) 22:59, 1 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Morita Akio: The Portal talk page is rarely used, you should pose this question to WT:VG. -- ferret (talk) 23:14, 1 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for informing me, I have copied it over there. --Morita Akio (talk) 08:47, 2 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
