Hello edit

Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to the PPSh-41 page. Such edits are considered vandalism and quickly undone. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox instead. Thank you. --Le Petit Chat (talk) 20:45, 27 October 2019 (UTC)   Hello, I'm Le Petit Chat. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, M1917 Browning machine gun, but you didn't provide a reliable source. Weapons of the First Indochina War moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Weapons of the First Indochina War, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.  I dream of horses  If you reply here, please ping me by adding {{U|I dream of horses}} to your message  (talk to me) (My edits) @ 03:05, 14 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

January 2020 edit

Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Draft:Weapons of the First Indochina War, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your contributed article, List of military by country equipment edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, List of military by country equipment. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – List of militaries by country. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at List of militaries by country. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Schazjmd (talk) 16:04, 16 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

February 2020 edit

Hi! I just wanted to let you know I've reverted your edits to Disney Channel Games because there is currently a consensus against including the information you added, since a lot of it is unsourced and it's very difficult to find any sort of sources, particularly reliable ones, for the information you added (it also looks like you might have copied the information (without attribution/credit) from the pre-redirect versions of the different year articles that used to exist, given the duplication of category links and such, but...). Further, a lot of the page looks like it might have incorporated formatting and styles that are against the Manual of Style (at a glance I noticed things that might be violating stuff like WP:ACCESS for example), but my reversion was mostly because of the consensus thing right now. Just wanted to let you know my reasoning in case you ever revisited the page and noticed your additions gone. It's theoretically possible to get the consensus to change if you have a good enough (and policy-aligned) argument that you can bring to the talk page and convince people toward a different consensus, but it's likely the consensus won't change. Thanks and good luck as you build skill in editing and policy! Have a good day.   - Purplewowies (talk) 13:27, 26 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

October 2021 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to List of military special forces units, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. - wolf 17:43, 12 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

I must say your talk page is full of warnings and notes now. You seem to continually be adding unsourced information to the encyclopaedia, and even information that is outright incorrect. Take this as your final warning, if you continue to add unsourced information, or add incorrect information to Wikipedia, you will be blocked from editing. Speedy deletion nomination of General Political Department (Vietnam) edit

Hello, Washington Lincoln,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Joseywales1961, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged General Political Department (Vietnam) for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. You may find our guide for writing quality articles to be extremely informative. Also, you may want to consider working on future articles in draft space first, where they cannot be deleted for lacking content.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Joseywales1961}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Speedy deletion nomination of General Political Department (Vietnam) edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on General Political Department (Vietnam) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Page moves & communication edit

I see you moved several articles today from draft to article space, though some of them (such as Draft:Weapons of the Six-Day War) did not appear ready. I also know this isn't your first time with this issue. I would recommend that you submit new articles to WP:AFC for review first. I would also strongly encourage you to start communicating on talk pages, especially to respond to comments addressed specifically to you. I know that as of know, you have only posted one single (angry) talk page post since joining. I know this because I replied to it. Communication is not an option on Wikipedia, I've actually seen editors blocked for refusing to communicate, especially when their editing becomes problematic. Anyway, this is just advice... take it or leave it. - wolf 15:57, 28 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. If you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. plicit 12:33, 8 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Something needs to change edit

Your article Weapons of the Cambodian–Vietnamese War, has again been moved to draft. I'm not sure how many times this has been now, (for this or any of your other lists), but this merry-go-round of pages creations and moves needs to stop. You also need to start communicating on article and user talk pages, especially when people raise concerns about your behavior and/or the articles you keep creating and moving. Otherwise, if this continues, you can expect a report to be filed at one of noticeboards seeking sanctions against your account. I will again suggest, (make that strongly encourage) that you submit new articles to WP:AFC instead of just repeatedly moving them to mainspace. Again, this is advice, take it or leave it. - wolf 18:52, 9 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Adding excess detail to infobox edit

Please discuss contention changes on the talk page of the article. We don't go into that level of detail with military leadership for any other large conflict article; I don't see why we should here. OhNoitsJamie Talk 16:00, 14 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Three different people, including me, have now reverted you at Falklands War in your attempts to add this excessive detail. All three of us have been telling you to take it to the talk page before proceeding again. You are not doing so. Your edits have become disruptive. Please stop. Continuing as you have will very likely result in being blocked (not by me, as I consider myself involved, but a report will be made with the recommendation you be blocked until you are willing to engage in appropriate discussion). If you have questions, ask. Proceeding as you have is not an option. I hope I've been clear. --Hammersoft (talk) 02:28, 16 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

December 2021 edit

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  ~ ToBeFree (talk) 12:56, 18 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
@ToBeFree: not sure if you're aware of the recent history here, but there have been issues with repeated page creations on an almost CIR level, page-move warring, and a continuing refusal to communicate. Up until now I was aware of just one rather hostile tp post, then a second one, only today, which reinforces the issues with communication (with ESL now added in). Preferably before the block expires, could you take these issues into account, or at the very least discuss this, and perhaps future expectations, with this user? Thanks - wolf 00:51, 19 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hi Thewolfchild, thank you very much for the description of the problem and the links – the 24 hour block for edit warring was just the simplest method available to stop the disruption for a moment. I wasn't aware of many other issues specifically, just of a general communication problem. I'll keep an eye on the situation, and please keep me updated too. If disruptive editing continues, I'll re-block indefinitely.
Washington Lincoln, you may be blocked for disruptively ignoring community concerns and should ideally take the time to answer the messages here on your talk page, civilly, before continuing to edit. You are not strictly required to answer the messages, but if you continue behavior that you have been warned for, or even blocked for, in the past, then the lack of communication is disruptive enough to justify a block. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 02:26, 19 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
I concur with ToBeFree. The behavior exhibited is wholly incompatible with editing here. I am quite troubled by the insistent addition of unreferenced or poorly referenced content, combined with personal attacks, combined with edit warring, and topped off with this utterly fallacious attempt here to apply an ArbCom ruling shows a rather determined intent to edit outside of the expected norms. You can either conform to our policies and guidelines here or you will be blocked indefinitely until such time as you agree to do so. --Hammersoft (talk) 17:24, 19 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

About Đại Việt–Lan Xang War (1479–84) edit

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Đại Việt–Lan Xang War (1479–84) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Đại Việt–Lan Xang War (1478–1480). This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Hello, Washington Lincoln,
You are edit-warring and editing disruptively. If you don't move this to the article talk page, you are going to lose your editing privileges. Don't force your opinions into the article, if an editor disagrees with you, you need to come to a consensus on the talk page. Liz Read! Talk! 06:06, 22 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

We're well past the point of final warnings now. You have shown a persistent intention to edit war in an attempt to have things done your way on the project. You have consistently ignored warnings, fallaciously attempted to apply ArbCom rulings, inserting unreferenced/poorly referenced content, and engaged in personal attacks. Throughout this, you have rarely engaged in any collaborative discussion. This isn't how Wikipedia works. This block is for three days. If, after the block expires, you resume your disruptive behavior again I will make the next block indefinite. This has gone on long enough. You can either conform to our Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines or not be part of this project. Your choice. If you have any doubts about how you are conducting yourself on the project with regards to those policies and guidelines, ask questions FIRST before taking action. We will be happy to help. But, continuing as you have means you will be subjected to an indefinite block until you agree to abide by our policies and guidelines. I hope I've been clear. --Hammersoft (talk) 14:34, 22 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

  • It wasn't my position to deny this unblock, but if it were I would have denied it. Washington Lincoln, your unblock appeal has done nothing to address the serious issues behind why you were blocked. All you're saying is you won't make "that" mistake again. You've made a lot of mistakes, and don't appear to be taking onboard the advice given to you at multiple places on this talk page both in this thread and many times before. Your behavior is well outside the norms we expect of editors here. It is wholly incompatible with editing here. There wasn't a single mistake. The edit warring is just the latest. Not only were you blocked for edit warring, no sooner had that block expired and you were at it again. You need to really think about what it is you want to do here in relation to the whole idea of working collaboratively here. --Hammersoft (talk) 00:20, 23 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Vietnam Self-Defence Militia moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Vietnam Self-Defence Militia, is not suitable as written to remain published. Washington Lincoln, in light of everything that's transpired since I last suggested it, I will again suggest, (make that strongly encourage) that you submit any new articles to WP:AFC. If you have a good reason why you believe you shouldn't have to, I would like to know what it is. In fact, I would like to see a response to this comment, any response, just so that I know you are willing to discuss issues when arise. Thank you - wolf 20:12, 31 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Washington Lincoln, I see you've been actively editing since I posted my comment to you just above, but you still refuse to communicate. Along with that, this was in regards to this ongoing issue with you creating articles that aren't ready for mainspace, and repeatedly move-warring them out of draft while apparently not making any improvements and refusing to discuss issues with the articles, or your behavior, on any talk page.
Instead of engaging in discussion, I see you have again(!) moved the above noted article back to main, just hours af6er Onel5969 move it to draft and posted comments above, and again it appears you've made no changes to the article or attempted to communicate, with anyone. Pinging ToBeFree and Hammersoft, as they had warned you about this and they should be made aware. In the meantime, I again will strongly encourage you to stop these disruptive, circular moves and start engaging with other editors on talk pages. - wolf 13:52, 2 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

As you've seen, I've moved the article back to draft space. I have also removed [1] material that you re-added [2] after it had already been removed for being uncited [3]. Also, after the article had been moved back to draft space because it wasn't ready for mainspace [4], you moved it back to mainspace without doing anything to improve it [5]. Further, despite multiple efforts of people to engage you, you're not communicating...just proceeding ahead with undoing the edits of others without discussion, without rationale. Apparently, the only reason is you disagree, and think they're wrong, but refuse to communicate about this. This is not collegial editing. You've been warned about this many times before, and have failed to heed these warnings. I am therefore blocking you yet again, in part for edit warring and in part for refusal to heed many warnings regarding your editing behavior. If you resume this pattern of editing yet again after this block expires, the next block will be considerably longer. The consequences of your actions are yours and yours alone. You've had many warnings. Continuing as you have been is not an option. If you have any doubts about your actions after this block expires, then please ask for assistance by adding {{Helpme}} to this talk page followed by your question. We will be very glad to help. --Hammersoft (talk) 16:56, 2 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Blocked edit

(sigh) Once again you have continued to attempt to create articles that are seriously lacking in sources to support the information in the article. This article you are attempting to make is just another iteration of Weapons of the Cambodian–Vietnamese War, which you attempted to edit war into mainspace before. The level of WP:IDHT is completely unacceptable. Your willingness to continue to edit war to have your way in the face of multiple warnings is unacceptable. Your unwillingness to provide appropriate sources to back up claims in your various attempts at creating articles is unacceptable. Your unwillingness to engage people in these discussions shows a distinct desire to not work with this community, but rather given the above serious problems a desire to work against the community. This is flat intolerable. I am therefore indefinitely blocking you. --Hammersoft (talk) 21:18, 23 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
