The opening paragraph of a WP article doesn’t really require citations the way the body of an entry does. Unless we’re making a controversial assertion (he was the first...) or quoting, it’s ok to rely on the citations in the body of the WP article. This is a judgment call and there’s no strict rule about when to add citations to the summary at the top of an article, but IMHO the ones you’ve added to Grech are superfluous and distracting.
