Hey Rosie, reckon Cavea Auditorium of Parco della Musica is worth starting? Paco played there two days ago! A good thing would be to browse his concert venues [1], on July 10th he's playing Plaza Alta, Badajoz. Badajoz has interested me for a while because of its extreme location in Spain near Portugal, somewhat mystical. We could expand the article and covers some of the landmarks some time..♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 18:39, 6 July 2013 (UTC)

I am feeling fine and have been enjoying the sunshine Your Rosiness. You can call me TP or toilet paper if you wish hehe!! You can still call me Dr. B, that's fine. I don't regret a single thing I've said or done because I meant it. The bad thing happened though when Orlady sought support at the DYK review page and got it. Excessive badgering reviewers do need to dial down the tone of their comments; nobody has to contribute to wikipedia and what I dish out is usually a reflection of what is thrown at me. Obviously none of them wanted to hear criticism of their reviewing in the same way none of us wanted to hear the criticism of our work, but either side had some valid points. Obivously there are quite a few contributors who feel the same way as I do but they don't have the guts as I do to be honest with people. I'd rather a less toxic environment in which reviewers support editors and work with them rather than against them. I always try to encourage a friendly rather than a hostile environment. I can still produce the same work in the meantime for wikipedia without being credited at DYK, nothing will change that. But I am a little concerned that some of our nominations have to be rushed for DYK and if the quality isn't great it's not really a true reflection of our abilities. I'm definitely done with DYK myself anyway, and I hope once you reach 1000 DYKs we can move more towards new and exciting projects which produce work I know we're capable of..Tibetan Prayer 16:51, 17 July 2013 (UTC)

McLean's Mansion

Cardboard Cathedral; yes, it's warped and twisted

Hi Rosie & friends, if you are interested, I invite you to collaborate on a couple of articles. McLean's Mansion is in my userspace, and its first owner's article stood at 123 Bytes of prose yesterday, so that can be expanded quite easily. Wasn't sure whether to post here or at Wikipedia:RBN. Schwede66 18:38, 18 July 2013 (UTC)

As it is taken out of our project page do we continue to add to it?--Nvvchar. 16:21, 20 July 2013 (UTC)

I have added to this article. However, first owner's article is already well covered. I can add only some small text to complete the double.--Nvvchar. 02:11, 21 July 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for your help. The five days for Mr McLean are almost up. Any good ideas for a good double hook? Shall we discuss this here, or on the article's talk page? Schwede66 21:06, 21 July 2013 (UTC)

You created the nomination nearly 3 months ago, but you never put it on the DYK nominations page. It got reviewed quickly -- apparently by someone who was watching the Rosblofnari page, which might have obscured the fact that it wasn't on the DYK nominations page. It finally made it to the nominations page because I added it there a few days ago. --Orlady (talk) 04:26, 22 July 2013 (UTC)

I also had some confusion about Banghar Fort and Bangarh village which is a new town below the fort city. The fort city was very vast with five gates of entry (originally Jaipur city was also built within five gates of a fort) gates with a population of 10,000 and the entire town was destroyed during the war. The palace is at the end of the fort's limits which is mentioned in the article. The page number for Sarina Singh's book ref is 18. Some one has already corrected it. The spelling of Banghar Fort has been correctly incorporated now at all places in the article. Thanks.--Nvvchar. 01:44, 22 July 2013 (UTC)

Morning

Thanks. Funnily enough even though the summer is almost over we are enjoying the best weather of the year. We had one day in June where the temperature went up to 19 °C (66 °F) but July was cooler, highest was 16 °C (61 °F), and plenty of rain. Way too much rain. However, yesterday was 19 °C (66 °F) with 24 °C (75 °F) forecast for Saturday. It's been several years since we have had such temperatures forecast and usually it is in July. How is your summer going? CambridgeBayWeather (talk) 16:14, 8 August 2013 (UTC)

Appley Towers

Hi Rosiestep Any chance you could revisit this article you created? I'm sure you'll see that even with some recent edits the tone is inappropriate, and it reflects a 19th century view which is not surprising as it appears to be copied from a 19th century source. Hi Doug. Oh, yeah, that needed a good scrub! I think it's now more accurate. Good question

Thanks for your concern. My concern can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Trayvon_Martin_could_have_been_me_35_years_ago I am not considering retiring because my articles or ideas trump consensus. Quite the contrary, I treasure consensus on Wikipedia, although I have long been a critic of notability. But if consensus leads to this pages deletion and/or merger, than Wikipedia's evolution has truly moved past me. Juneau Mike (talk) 02:08, 22 August 2013 (UTC)

DYK for Ibitekerezo

Alex ShihTalk 12:04, 23 August 2013 (UTC)

Thank you very much, Rosie, for the milestone DYK 1000 award. Ibitekerezo marks the milestone 1000. The first was Mysore mallige (used in making the famous perfume Chanel No. 5, in 2007 for which my state of Karnataka is famous. I am the first non-native speaker on English to achieve this by a long shot. A great deal of credit goes to you and Dr.Blofeld as well who have continued to collaborate with me all these years.--Nvvchar. 16:52, 23 August 2013 (UTC)

Cwm, Llanrothal is my 100th GA. A good day for us it seems!♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:24, 23 August 2013 (UTC)

Aw thanks, you're so good at designing awards!!!♦ Dr. Blofeld 15:01, 24 August 2013 (UTC)

Sally Army Band? Rosie can you make sense of this. Scroll back a bit. It's discussing the Ziegfeld follies in 1936 but I think it's talking about the theatrical production which is interesting as it appears it was produced at the same time as the film. Perhaps you could add something to production about this and mention this was going on? Ah this explains it well but can't be used as a source. It appears she also organized the Ziegfield Follies at the same time to pay off Ziegfeld's debtors.

Also the Variety source says this about the music "By program tabulation, there are seven numbers. Actually, the tally totals 23. For instance, in the Ziegfeld Roof sequence are included five subdivisions — “You Gotta Pull Strings,” “She’s a Follies Girl,” “You” (elaborate production flash), “You Never Looked So Beautiful” and “Parade of the Glorified Girls.” Fannie Brice is billed for only “Yiddle on Your Fiddle” and “My Man,” but she also has an elaborate sequence in a 10th avenue burly, “Queen of the Jungle.”

As for what is programmed to be No. 7 of the numbers, “A Circus Must Be Different in a Ziegfeld Show,” actually this has 10 component parts. It starts with the highly imaginative and very effective Harriet Hoctor ballet, plus her own soloing (generous in footage but worth it), supplemented by “Look for the Silver Lining” from “Sally” (Jerome Kern); “A Pretty Girl Is Like a Melody” (Irving Berlin), as a reprise, as it is handsomely mounted for the first half finale earlier in the footage; “March of the Musketeers” from “3 Musketeers” (Rudolf Friml); “Ol’ Man River” (“Showboat”) (Kern again); “Making Whoopee” from “Whoopee” (Donaldson-Kahn); “Rio Rita” (Tierney-McCarthy); “Someone Loves You After All” from “Kid Boots” (also Tierney-McCarthy); Dave Stamper’s “Tulip Time” and Buddy DeSylva’s “If You Knew Susie,” a reprise of the number which Buddy Doyle does so well in his Eddie Cantor characterization earlier in the unfolding.

Considering the recent screen standards in book musicals with five numbers for 100 to 110 minutes of running time this Metro Santaclausing of numbers becomes virtually a double-feature filmusical." Can you find a way to incorporate some of this without is seeming paraphrased? It is unclear to me if the 13 standards represent all of the songs or just from one number, as shown above there were many other songs, and Number 7 of the film (the long showcase of Pretty Girl is like a melody) actually had 10 songs within it so this needs to be clarified I think before I nom for GA!. Perhaps the list of songs of the 10 in Number 7 (Pretty Girl) should be sublisted in the song list too.

Dr. Blofeld 13:31, 25 August 2013 (UTC)

I'm finding a way around it, I'll sort out the theatre show, if you could sort out the songs I'd be grateful.♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:00, 25 August 2013 (UTC)

Articles on Aalborg

Hello Rosiestep. It's good to see the red links change to blue on the Aalborg article and you have indeed created several of the articles I intended to develop myself. I realize they need quite a bit more work and that many of the sources are in Danish. My problem is that I don't work nearly as fast as you do and that I also like to complete work on one article before moving on to the next one. At the moment, my attention is unfortunately divided between suggestions from Dr. B. and you yourself, the work I was doing on Lolland, and more recently on frescos in Swedish churches, not to mention Women in photography which I never really completed. Maybe I could help with one or two of your new articles in order to help them on their way to DYK but I don't think I can do much more over the next few days. Let me know if you think there are priorities.--Ipigott (talk) 10:24, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

Mr. Bigglesworth needs baby sitting again, can you take care of him for a few days? Aalborg template coming tomorrow...♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:22, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

I'm creating a few more Aalborg articles today, so no rush on the template. Working on the port now. We do need to work on more ports, eventually. --Rosiestep (talk) 20:38, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

The first woman cultural anthropologist to reach 990 on DYK

The first woman cultural anthropologist to reach 990 on DYK
Hearty Congrats on your reaching 990. You are the first woman to reach this unique mark on DYK Wikipedia and there is no one else close to you to surpass this mark. Your compulsion to edit and spread “freedom of all knowledge on the planet” on Wikipedia will take you through the next ten to reach the milestone 1,000 very shortly. Cheers--Nvvchar. 21:33, 1 September 2013 (UTC)

LOL congrats!. Rosie would you be interested in getting Las Vegas Strip or Las Vegas up to GA status? I'm tempted to nuke it and start from scratch. Let's get Aalborg sorted and nommed first anyway.♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:55, 3 September 2013 (UTC)

A lot of people confuse it with the strip though which isn't in the city of Las Vegas or something I think? Perhaps expanding one or two of the hotels might be easier, I dunno, I just want a Vegas GA on something!♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:05, 3 September 2013 (UTC)

Aalborg Teater

The article says it is the largest theatre in Aalborg. Are there any smaller theatres? There are certainly far larger auditoriums at the Aalborg Hall where shows are produced. The sports arena is also used for performances. Perhaps you have sources on this?--Ipigott (talk) 13:50, 2 September 2013 (UTC)

OK, there is in fact a smaller theater in the congress center, see here. I'll take care of it tomorrow. Thanks once again for all your efforts on Aalborg.--Ipigott (talk) 19:41, 2 September 2013 (UTC)

Still recovering... As I've been called back to work for a week or so, this time in Milan, Italy, I thought about being the first to congratulate you on your upcoming DYK milestone. Hail Hail Rosie ! Krenakarore TK 07:34, 4 September 2013 (UTC)

You might be interested in three Aalborg-related biographies I've just started: Marie Rée, Christen Winther Obel and Poul Pagh. I intend to include them in a short introduction to the Notable people section. I'll try to get back to your other Aalborg stubs later. Had to do quite a bit on Lille Vildmose which now seems to be OK. Have also started Cementir.--Ipigott (talk) 13:45, 4 September 2013 (UTC)

OK now, I think. Maybe I'll expand Jørgen Olufsen's House house in the same way. It should be easier to do as the text is quite short.--Ipigott (talk) 09:30, 7 September 2013 (UTC)

Aalborg harbours

Thanks for mentioning the harbours but obviously quite a bit of work could go into them. For a start, Port of Aalborg needs expansion, including a new article on Aalborg Havn A/S. The harbours you mention are no longer used for shipping, so I don't think they really belong to the economy section (apart perhaps from their minor contribution to tourism). Østre Havn is in the midst of transformation into a residential area (see here). Like Marina Fjordparken, Skudehavn is a marina while Vestre Badehavn is a recreation area. Maybe they should be included in a separate section in the article but I am not keen to embark on it now. Let's deal with the GA requirements first.--Ipigott (talk) 07:45, 10 September 2013 (UTC)

Cathedral San Juan Bosco

Thanks, Rosiestep, for another challenge. I would suggest the main title in English should be "San Juan Bosco Cathedral" or "Comodoro Rivadavia Cathedral" (both now redirects), possibly with their Spanish equivalents in parentheses. I know some editors have a preference for keeping the title in the original language but when dealing with the Romance languages, I think it is useful to have the title in English as it is easier to see what else is named (in alphabetical order) after the person or place involved. I'll have a quick go at expanding the article. I've found some sources.--Ipigott (talk) 08:23, 15 September 2013 (UTC)
