If there is an articles with only one or more sentences only, and it was categorized as stub, is it allowed in Wikipedia or not? Example articles are like this. Thanks for advance.

- If they are still not notable, of course, yes; for example, the one above is a local public school which are in fact notable. SwisterTwister talk 05:15, 16 July 2016 (UTC)

editHi. We appreciate your enthusiasm, but please do not patrol new pages or tag pages (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sekolah Datuk Keramat 1) until you have significantly more experience; maintenance tasks are not for new users. Wikipedia and copyright
editHello NgYShung, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to SP Half Marathon has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. for (;;) (talk) 16:54, 23 July 2016 (UTC)
Speedy deletion declined: User:Gilfort Mabitsela/sandbox
editHello NgYShung. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of User:Gilfort Mabitsela/sandbox, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: this is not an attack page. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 09:24, 27 July 2016 (UTC)

How to deal with legal threats
editHi NgYShung, I noted in the AN/I thread you opened you seemed unsure on how to deal with legal threats when you come across them. When replying, it's best only to remind the editor that WP:NLT applies, report it at AN/I and then disengage from any further communication - which I note you did, so thank you. Keep in mind that sometimes the people making these threats are genuinely upset individuals, who would benefit from a polite and calm explanation of WP:NLT with links to the contact page. Automatically add template to articles
editThis help request has been answered. If you need more help, you can , contact the responding user(s) directly on their user talk page, or consider visiting the Teahouse. |
Is there any way to automatically add template tag to articles listed in the template. I created Template:Schools in Kedah, Malaysia and Template:Schools in Johor, Malaysia and wish to automatically add the template into the articles rather than manually edit every page. Thanks for advance, NgYShung huh? 04:20, 13 August 2016 (UTC)
- To my knowledge, there is not, no, so the only way I know is to add them to each article. SwisterTwister talk 06:22, 13 August 2016 (UTC)
Hello, this is B.W. Powe and his wife writing to you
editThe changes we have made in the wikipedia entry on me are accurate, authorized, complete, and not to be altered. This is important for the following reasons: 1) I have two books appearing in 2016 2) Links will be made to and from publishers' sites 3) Readers will be searching for authorized material online 4) I am beginning my teaching semester at York University in September; this site must be accurate for students to access 5) I am speaking at the University of Toronto "McLuhan Then and Now" Conference in October. Again my authorized information needs to be on the wikipedia.
Please stop reverting to older information sources. Yours truly, BW Powe August 16th, 2016 — Preceding unsigned comment added by B.W. Powe (talk • contribs) 16:29, 16 August 2016 (UTC)
- @B.W. Powe: Hello, sorry if that bother you as you are really new to Wikipedia, but thanks for talking to me here. Firstly, through your edits, you had added tons of content without any references. The infobox was broken and one of the title was all caps which made the whole article really bad to read because of bad formatting. One of the user who is an admin (Materialscientist) also reverted the edit.
- Your reasons you had given are okay, but the real problem was you did not cite any of the content you made and it probably violates Manual of Style. The articles must be appear clean and readable. Though you can make a website and add anything you want without Wikipedia WP:RULES, we will add the website link it to the article! Consider you are a new user, you should read WP:WELCOME, WP:REF and also WP:YOURSELF. Happy editing! NgYShung huh? 06:26, 17 August 2016 (UTC)
Battle of Sirte (2016)
editI saw your warning and thank you for that. I am well aware of the 1RR rule applied to any ISIL-related articles and stopped after I made only 1 revert. However, the other editor that you warned made 2 reverts (contrary to 1RR). I warned him of this and he started making personal attacks (extremely negative attitude) on my talk page, saying I was threatening him and having a bossy attitude (just because I warned him of WP policy on civility, personal attacks, good faith and 1RR). The same editor broke the 1RR rule for ISIL-related articles two times last night and was warned of this by another editor as well but did not take the warning into account at all. He was also warned of not making personal attacks against others once more earlier this month. I ask for your advice or any help that could resolve this situation. EkoGraf (talk) 11:28, 19 August 2016 (UTC)
- @EkoGraf: Sorry but I'm busy and I can't go through the dispute because it was a bit long (and also not good on judging dispute). I've requested help at WP:DRR so others' user help may come soon. Thanks, NgYShung huh? 11:51, 19 August 2016 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Shri Rang Avadhoot Question
editHello, I saw your warning in Shri Rang Avadhoot page. Then, I added a one reference in this page and also delete the {{prod blp/dated}} tag after adding the reference. If there is any wrong step in this editing, please tell me because I'm new user in Wikipedia. Thanks for best support. Jydpseo
- @Jydpseo: Thanks for talking to me here! I am greatly appreciate for creating the Shri Rang Avadhoot article. References are very important for verifiability of an article. I accepted your remove on the PROD tag, but you should talk to me first so I can remove the tag (because normally the author of an article should not remove the PROD tag). Since you're new here, here some pages you should read: WP:YFA and WP:CITE. And also remember to sign your posts by typing four tildes (~~~~). Happy editing! NgYShung huh? 07:43, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Jydppatel Question
editHello, How to solve "Sockpuppet investigation"? I see this message on my talk page but i have no idea to solve it. Please help me to solve it. Jydpseo (talk) 10:06, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
- @Jydpseo: The "Sockpuppet investigation" means the use of multiple account to mislead, vandalise etc. Don't worry, if you are really sure that you now only have one account, and you did not own the account (which in this case, Jydppatel), the case will be close (if identified you did not own the account by CheckUser) and you won't be judged or banned. You can see WP:SOCK and also this. Thanks for asking, NgYShung huh? 10:18, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
Dealing with attack pages
editHi. You recently tagged as WP:CSD#A7 a page with a title like "X is a sad ugly boy". Two things about that:
- For an attack page like that, you should use WP:CSD#G10, which puts the page in a high-priority queue for admin attention, and also blanks it so that the content is no longer visible.
- Where the victim's name is visible in the title, and particularly where the title is itself an attack, in your messages to the article author it's best not to use templates which repeat the title. {{subst:uw-attack}} is the best one to use and does not leave the victim's name visible.
A new user who starts off with an attack page is unlikely to be a useful contributor, and I myself would not bother with a "welcome" message - just uw-attack. In this case, I have fixed the attacker's talk page so that his victim's name is no longer visible - just letting you know for next time. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 08:53, 24 August 2016 (UTC)
- Okay, I will take note next time. Thanks, NgYShung huh? 08:55, 24 August 2016 (UTC)
RE: Home Credit Philippines article
editHello Ng!
Thank you for the warm welcome to Wikipedia. I'm still quite new, so there are many things still to explore and learn, but I am having a very good time in taking everything all in. :)
I just wanted to make a gentle clarification regarding the removal of the article I had created: Home Credit Philippines. I do understand the Wikipedia rules regarding encyclopedic writing, so I very much strived to be as factual and as objective as possible in developing the article, including quoting reputable sources (mainly top-tier media outlets from our country), and making sure that the content itself is non-subjective. If you still have access to that draft (not sure if it is possible), you will see that the sections of the article-- general overview, history of the company, information about the product and partners-- are all quite objective and non-hard sell.
In fact, I used the Wiki pages of some of Home Credit's partners-- such as OPPO and Samsung, both of which were hyperlinked in my article draft-- as a benchmark, since their pages are still very much approved and existing on Wikipedia. :)
Hope you can shed some light on this, and appreciate any advice you might have to help the next draft be more Wikipedia-worthy.
Thanks again!
Warm regards,
Jbmangahas (talk) 01:07, 25 August 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you for commenting here. Just some advice here, you should read WP:YFA as a start-up. The article you created contains advertising content which is not allowed in Wikipedia. And you should not copy content from another website as it violates the website owner's copyright and normally contains soapboxing content. If you want to get the article back (which in this case Home Credit Philippines), you can ask for an undeletion but you need to delete the soapbox content. I hope you enjoy at Wikipedia! Happy editing, NgYShung huh? 07:05, 25 August 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for the reply, Ng! To clarify, I did not copy content from another website-- neither the media articles that have been cited as sources, nor the OPPO and Samsung wikipedia entries that I had mentioned. The Home Credit Philippines article contains all original content, with media citations to verify the accuracy of the information provided. thanks!

Wikipedia Malaysia
editHi,
Thanks for that announcement on the WikiProject Malaysia thing. I've been also trying to revive Malaysia Wikipedia, because it has not been active compared to other countries' Wikipedia. I've made two Wikipedia Meetups recently (Wikipedia:Meetup/Johor 1 and Wikipedia:Meetup/Kuala Lumpur 1), and also take a lot of photos in Malaysia in Wikimedia Commons. There are just so many things need to be done for Wikipedia Malaysia. Chongkian (talk) 00:43, 29 August 2016 (UTC)
- @Chongkian: Well, let's make it active again! Still I hope that we can bring back the old WikiProject. I retouched everything in the WikiProject pages and subpages so yeah! :) Maybe go invite some active Malaysian user or user who actively work on Malaysia-associated articles, let's make our dreams come true. Cheers, NgYShung huh? 06:58, 29 August 2016 (UTC)
- And also Happy Malaysia Independence day! NgYShung huh? 07:01, 29 August 2016 (UTC)
- And also try to join this Wikipedia:Meetup/Malaysia page (can put your name there in the list), in which we discuss all of the upcoming meetup. We plan to make another one soon, probably in Selangor. And also not only the English one, we are trying to make the Malay-speaking meetup as well, to heavily improve the ms.wikipedia which is still lagging behind. ~ Happy Merdeka! Removed your tag
editWe are not mind readers and this sort of tagging waists a lot of our time trying to suss-out what drive-by taggers are thinking. Please read: Wikipedia:Responsible tagging--Aspro (talk) 12:37, 30 August 2016 (UTC)
- @Aspro: Not really drive-by exactly and also I did not patrol the page yet. At that time I think that the article should merge to Goat, and using pets as title looks a bit unencyclopedic (normally something like "Interaction" or "Roles"). Anyway thanks for the comment and sorry if there is any inconvenience. I've retouched the article. Feel free to revert it. Cheers, NgYShung huh? 13:04, 30 August 2016 (UTC)
Attributing anonymous edits to a registered username
editHi NgYShung do you know if i can attribute the anonymous edits to my userid jibinmathews ? I had made all of them without signing in and well took notice when another wikipedian pointed this out :( According to Wikipedia:Changing attribution for an edit i need to redirect. I think you can track my id and the username to the same location :) and i think the edits since 2014 attributed to this ip are mine. I have made more edits too from other computers but well i cannot track them down now. I believe we could raise tickets with the developer team till 2005 when it was closed off. 131.188.6.21 (talk) 12:18, 23 August 2016 (UTC)
- @131.188.6.21:, @Jibinmathews: Hello, thanks for noticing me. Before that, I hope that your main account (User:Jibinmathews) can confirm this to me here (sorry if this may bother you). If you are sure that your IP was static and not used by multiple users, I'll redirect it for you. Thanks! NgYShung huh? 12:52, 23 August 2016 (UTC)
- What exactly are you going to do, NgYShung? And no, history cannot be modified to change the attribution of edits. --NeilN talk to me 13:04, 23 August 2016 (UTC)
Hi just adding a message from my registered id User talk:jibinmathews. According to the page Wikipedia:Changing attribution for an edit i think we can redirect the user page and not the history. Earlier i believe the developers could directly change it in the database but now it will be separate pages. Like another wikipedian said , it will be better if i redirect so that the edits made with the ip can be enquired to with my id.Jibinmathews (talk) 13:47, 23 August 2016 (UTC)

According to the project page, it says: "If you have a static IP that will not be reused by others, you may redirect your anonymous User: and User Talk: pages to your new account." But after seeing the contributions of the IP, per NeilN, I think the IP may be not static, and only have active contributions for a few days. I think you may check if your IP is dynamic or static here. Thanks, NgYShung huh? 06:28, 24 August 2016 (UTC)
- @NeilN:@NgYShung: ITs ok guys. dont argue over this. its not a few days ,the edits made last year are definitely mine as those articles refer to my hometown and im now almost 10,000 km away from home since 2 years but the ones in 2014 i dont remember making those edits. :O. i will use my registered id from now on. was just too lazy to signin and was just easy to make edits and logout.signing in is a motivation to learn all this. Rollback granted
editHi NgYShung. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Widr (talk) 19:07, 31 August 2016 (UTC)

Your Message
editIt is important that the New Beacon School reflects the facts. The controversy section should include a note of the victim's response to the letter or apology, in accordance with standard Press practice. I have amended the article accordingly.
The fact that Constantine was the Headmaster at the time of re-employing Woodward is clearly deducible from the referenced Press Statements, but the spokesperson was Mr Piercy who was employed after Constantine's mood. Omission of Constantine's name merely colludes with the misleading Press Statements, which were damaging to the victim, and for the which school apologised in writing. I would wish to avoid further incidents of misleading in favour of Mr Constantine's public relations at the expense of a victim of sexual abuse.

editThanks for patrolling new pages, a vital and under-appreciated task, but please don't tag newly created articles with WP:CSD#A1 or WP:CSD#A3 too soon after creation. While things like copyright violations and attack pages need to be tagged at once, new contributors often put in a word or two and then click "Save page" to see how it looks: it is discouraging and BITEy if a speedy-deletion template immediately pops up. For incomplete articles like Qaisar Abbas (which you tagged only one minute after creation), you should make a note of the title and wait at least 10 - 15 minutes before tagging. See {{uw-hasty}}. There is general advice about new page patrolling at WP:NPP, and about speedy tagging at WP:10CSD and WP:A7M. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 09:44, 3 September 2016 (UTC)
- Agree with User:JohnCD. See my earlier post: Removed your tag]. This editor seems far too trigger-happy. He adds tags to new articles on subjects he knows nothing about. Drive-by shooting Thus, adding more unnecessary debating work for the active creators. This slows down the expansion of any such new articles. When I started editing WP, editors with reservations, disused it on the article's talk page first but now lazy editors just add a tag with out explanation. --Aspro (talk) 10:49, 3 September 2016 (UTC)
- @Aspro: C'mon don't be so triggered man. Do you read my explanation on that? And also two of this scenario are different, one is just an small unaffected for the author merge to tag, and one is WP:A3. I don't always place these tags but only if it is blatant like unref and essay-like. "He adds tags to new articles on subjects he knows nothing about" does not really imply on merge to and the article I speedily tag on. Don't let just a merge to tag affect your editing. @JohnCD: Thanks for noticing me about that. Cheers! NgYShung huh? 12:21, 3 September 2016 (UTC)
Okay, NgYShung, I think I'm going to have to put this in stronger terms. Do not do any more admin-like stuff. Find an article to write or improve, work in mainspace, then consider whether reviewing and administrative work is still of interest. If I hear any more complaints, I may have to block you for disruption. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 12:39, 7 September 2016 (UTC)
- @Ritchie333: Oh I see... Just a question, can I still do vandalism reverting? I'm still have interest on that, and yeah I'll stop for that kind of stuff. Thanks and regards, NgYShung huh? 14:04, 7 September 2016 (UTC)
- If you are certain you are reverting actual vandalism (remember the incident where you reverted my work on a public library computer because I hadn't logged in to preserve security credentials). Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 15:56, 7 September 2016 (UTC)
PROD replacement
editGreetings. I undid your re-placement of the proposed deletion template on Jeffrey Storey, because re-placement of a prod template is against the Wikipedia:Proposed deletion policy. The proper course of action is to send the article to WP:AFD, if you feel it warrants it. -- 1Wiki8........................... (talk) 10:37, 14 September 2016 (UTC)
- Hey NgYShung! Once a PROD is removed, it cannot be replaced back (regardless of whether it is a bad faith or good faith removal). Basically, a PROD is for uncontroversial deletions where not a single editor contests the PROD. Once removed, the next step is to send it to AfD. As you see, the article has now been sent to AfD by another editor. If you want you can debate it on the AfD now. Cheers! --Lemongirl942 (talk) 10:56, 15 September 2016 (UTC)

Question about category
editThis help request has been answered. If you need more help, you can , contact the responding user(s) directly on their user talk page, or consider visiting the Teahouse. |
Is there any function or tools that can search or list the new articles in a specific category? Thanks for advance. NgYShung huh? 16:27, 19 September 2016 (UTC)
- You can try Special:RecentChangesLinked. You'll need to choose the "Show page categorization" option. Of course you'll get all related changes, not just page creations (and figuring out which newly categorized pages are new may be tricky), but it does also show all pages that upon recent creation were added to the category. editAll the four links I just tagged: Moro attacks on Sabah, Moro attacks on Malaysia, Moro battles in Sabah and Moro conflict in Sabah for deletion to maintain the WP:NPOV as well to stick on the current issues. Sorry for accidentally tagging you on the csd as I am using an automatic tool. Molecule Extraction (talk) 08:23, 27 September 2016 (UTC)
- Hey Molecule Extraction. For deleting redirects with NPOV concerns, it is best to take it to WP:RFD. The speedy delete based on housekeeping is for un-controversial deletions. It is also important to clean up the incoming links first. --Lemongirl942 (talk) 09:10, 27 September 2016 (UTC)

Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
editWe'd like to invite you to participate in a user study closely related to SuggestBot. User:Another Article is seeking to understand more about the workflow and time commitment of contributors to the English Wikipedia. As part of this study you will occasionally be prompted to answer questions about your editing activity, and these questions should never take more than a minute or two to complete. The intended length of the study is two weeks, but your actual time commitment is totally up to you. If you would like to see more details you can read the project proposal at Research:Measuring editor time commitment and workflow (on meta), but if you are feeling bold and would like just like to sign up right now you can add the line importScript("User:Another_Article/workflowstudyclient.js");
to your common.js
. Contact User:Another Article if you have any questions about this study!
Note: All columns in this table are sortable, allowing you to rearrange the table so the articles most interesting to you are shown at the top. All images have mouse-over popups with more information. For more information about the columns and categories, please consult the documentation and please get in touch on SuggestBot's talk page with any questions you might have.
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. We appreciate that you have signed up to receive suggestions regularly; your contributions make Wikipedia better — thanks for helping!

Mass message sender granted
editHello. Your account has been granted the "massmessage-sender" user right, allowing you to send messages to multiple users at once. A few important things to note:
- Messages should only be sent to groups of users who are likely to be interested in the topic.
- For regular mailings such as those for WikiProjects, localized events, or newsletters, users should be informed of how they can unsubscribe from future mailings.
- The mass messaging tool should never be used for canvassing with the intention of influencing the outcome of discussions.
- (Personal note) Always be careful with the formatting of the list you put in the tool.
For information, refer to the guidance for use. If you do not want mass message sender rights anymore, just let me or any other administrator know and we will remove it. Thank you and happy editing! Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 15:34, 3 October 2016 (UTC)

10,000 Asia Challenge
editHi, I wondered if you would be interested in joining Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge? The idea is to showcase the work being done on wikipedia across the continent, and inspire more people to create and work on countries which might not usually get much attention and then possibly running some contests to bring in new editors. I know it's very existence will definitely make me more likely to contribute more on Malaysia and other countries. Could be a way to highlight work needing doing for Malaysia and draw in new editors! Or start a 1000 Challenge for Malaysia feeding into it or something? Not sure, but if interested add your name to the participants and I'll consider setting something up later in the month.♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:52, 8 October 2016 (UTC)

editHey I'm on my phone right now, for some reason it won't let me edit the section you made, so I'm responding here. Tanks and land vehicles aren't neccisarily synonymous, for instance we (as coordinator for both MILHIST and tanks, I'm clarifying that we is going to be used to mean wiki project tanks) don't include half tracks, motorcycles, tractors, trucks, a lot of specialized equipment, etc etc. Tanks is more specialized, and an informal (likely will be formal once we gain more members) child project of MILHIST, it would be inappropriate to merge them. anti-capitalist
editI wasn't putting in "original research" - the citation I corrected was "original research" in your definition. And correcting the word to "anti-capitalist" remedied the distraction and contradiction that the former "original research" had with the preceding paragraph that spoke of "socialist economists". New Page Review needs your help
editHi Renamed user 943a06d1c3,
As an AfC reviewer you're probably aware that a new user right has been created for patrolling new pages (you might even have been granted the right already, and admins have it automatically).
Since July there has been a very serious backlog at Special:NewPagesFeed of over 14,000 pages, by far the worst since 2011, and we need an all out drive to get this back down to just a few hundred that can be easily maintained in the future. Unlike AfC, these pages are already in mainspace, and the thought of what might be there is quite scary. There are also many good faith article creators who need a simple, gentle push to the Tea House or their pages converted to Draft rather than being deleted.
Although New Page Reviewing can occasionally be somewhat more challenging than AfC, the criteria for obtaining the right are roughly the same. The Page Curation tool is even easier to use than the Helper Script, so it's likely that most AfC reviewers already have more than enough knowledge for the task of New Page Review.
It is hoped that AfC reviewers will apply for this right at WP:PERM and lend a hand. You'll need to have read the page at WP:NPR and the new tutorial.

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!
edit
Hello, NgYShung. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

editThe article Lee Chong Wei you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:Lee Chong Wei for things which need to be addressed. RfC non-admin closer

NgYShung, I'm very surprised that you proposed yourself as a non-admin closer for this important RFC. Can you explain a bit how you came to know about it and deciding to do so? Wrigleygum (talk) 13:29, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
- It's quite the same as determine the consensus of the discussion thus closing it. See WP:NAC and Wikipedia:Consensus. NgYShung huh? 06:59, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
- My question was rather specific, if you don't mind. How did you came to know about the Singapore RFC and deciding to offer yourself experience-wise? - as it appears to be your first attempt at RFC closing and a substantial one at that. Wrigleygum (talk) 08:45, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
- The bar for "substantial" is unfathomably low if the RfC in question is considered to meet that threshold. That said, Wrigleygum you are welcome to challenge RfC closes if you feel the close was performed incorrectly, but asking what appear to be leading questions is not the way to do it. If you feel there is an issue, say what that is rather than running circles around it, and if you feel NgYShung has not addressed this issue with their responses, the procedures for moving ahead are detailed at WP:CLOSECHALLENGE. CMD (talk) 18:06, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
- Let him answer. Wrigleygum (talk) 20:32, 2 December 2016 (UTC)

- Wrigleygum, we are all here to improve the encyclopaedia. If you have any problems with the RFC, please look at WP:CLOSECHALLENGE and follow the steps over there. --Lemongirl942 (talk) 06:20, 3 December 2016 (UTC)

. If this procedure is ambiguous to yourself an 'experienced' editor, you can press to change of the guidelines. Wrigleygum (talk) 10:59, 3 December 2016 (UTC)- Wrigleygum, the thing is, you haven't stated any particular "issue" with the close. --Lemongirl942 (talk) 11:03, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
- I am writing on his talk page and not accusing you of any involvement, but the more you reply here, the issue becomes suspect. Any interactions between us should be on our respective talk pages for now. So please to not obscure my questions nor provide any leading opinions here. If the closer is confident enough to close an RFC, he should be able to justify the reasons without 'prompts/answers'. (Copying parts to Lemongirl talk page). - - To save time, I'm adding the next question. You said - "..public opinions are mostly wide-based and cannot be decide truly". Please expand your answers, it is puzzling. Wrigleygum (talk) 11:18, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
- This is really not a great time after my 5 days wikibreak right now. Just so you know I saw this RfC because I was browsing WP:ANI and saw a discussion thread about Singapore WP:NPOV and start looking at it. Then I reviewed the proposal, comments and statements and saw that the WP:Consensus is quite clear. That's why I decided to close the RfC. For the "public opinions" one, because the "Gallup polls" doesn't include comments of people who are supporting or opposing (which we cannot verify if the polls are really true of not). And that's looks like not a good thing to adapt with Wikipedia per WP:VOTE. Cheers, NgYShung huh? 03:44, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
- @NgYShung: Your answer still makes no sense as does your earlier grammar. Do you have experience or understand the mechanism/methodology of polling by established pollsters like Gallup? "not a good thing to adapt with Wikipedia per WP:VOTE" - What are you trying to say here and what has wikiedia vote got to do with it? Wrigleygum (talk) 04:11, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
- Yeah, I agreed that my English grammar is not quite as good since English is not my babel. Even the gallup polls are true, but the problem is the article is "opinionated" and biased which is not a reliable source in Wikipedia, see WP:BIASED. NgYShung huh? 05:55, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
- You seem to be avoiding the questions. Please answer them. Wrigleygum (talk) 05:59, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
- Let me warp this up: I said "not a good thing to adapt with Wikipedia per WP:VOTE" because I wanted to state that it is much more opinionated and you can't comment anything about why you support or opposed in the polls, just not like the system in Wikipedia. Even the article itself was biased, even though the polls may be true. If you think this is a reliable source, please state how do you know Gallup poll is polled by "established pollsters" and the mechanism of it, also providing a reliable source with it. Saying "Do you have experience or understand the mechanism/methodology of polling by established pollsters like Gallup?" won't help at all. NgYShung huh? 06:09, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
- Gallup is sanctioned/engaged by OECD to conduct the polls, what makes you think you would be qualified to judge the methodology of established pollsters and international organisations like OECD? Afaik, Gallup employs the same methodology in all countries in world it polls, translated to the relevant language if it is not english. Wrigleygum (talk) 06:15, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
- "also providing a reliable source with it" - Please read all the statement before answering. Thank you. NgYShung huh? 06:16, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
- I've partly answered that in the RFC and we can debate more, but will appreciated you address the immediate questions I asked. Are the questions unclear? Wrigleygum (talk) 06:25, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
- "also providing a reliable source with it" - Please read all the statement before answering. Thank you. NgYShung huh? 06:16, 6 December 2016 (UTC)

- I asked - "Gallup is sanctioned/engaged by OECD to conduct the polls, what makes you think you would be qualified to judge the methodology of established pollsters and international organisations like OECD?"
- As to: "much more opinionated and you can't comment anything about why you support or opposed in the polls", That's the related question whether you have an understanding/experience in such polling research?. You are looking for discussions, not polls. Wrigleygum (talk) 06:59, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
- Adding related questions to save time -
- Have you read through all the references I have provided in the RFC?
- Did you set aside the one-liner votes with little or no elaboration? -Wrigleygum (talk) 07:18, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
RfC non-admin closer 2
edit@NgYShung:, questions continued from above before the interruption:
- your statement "..it is much more opinionated and you can't comment anything about why you support or opposed in the polls". I will have to guess roughly what you are talking about… are you suggesting more discussions rather than standardised polling?
- OECD has sanctioned/engaged Gallup to conduct the polls. Are you questioning the survey methodology of OECD and Gallup? -Wrigleygum (talk) 23:55, 6 December 2016 (UTC)

DYK for Lee Chong Wei
edit
On 9 January 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Lee Chong Wei, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that at the 2016 Summer Olympics, badminton player Lee Chong Wei (pictured) was the Malaysian flag bearer? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Lee Chong Wei. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Lee Chong Wei), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Wikipedia Johor Meetup 2
editHi NgYShung,
The normal things as usual ;) --> Wikipedia:Meetup/Johor 2 on 18 March 2017.
By the way, regarding the Wikipedia Meetup page in ms.wikipedia.org, can you create the main page which tallies with the en.wikipedia.org (Wikipedia:Meetup/Malaysia) meetup page version? My Malay language is not that good, especially for official writing purpose, hehe .. Once we have a nice page with standardized template, I can add by myself any future meetup or event. Maybe can liaise with that Yosri user. Thanks yo!
At least this first few years (starting early 2015), I will try to make many meetups around Malaysia to get enough Wikipedia Malaysia users & editors to make sure the ball keeps rolling (frankly speaking, I can't be the only one who keep this thing running, lol). In April next month I will go to Ipoh, and probably will make the Wikipedia Perak Meetup 1 ;)
Chongkian (talk) 04:05, 12 March 2017 (UTC)
- @Chongkian: Just wondering, would it be possible to let some editors join online? For me, travelling/physical meetup is a bit of a problem. But if we have a synced google docs, I would be happy to join in and contribute. --Lemongirl942 (talk) 18:56, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
- Uhm, all of our meetup so far are being done offline (that's what a meetup is about right?). For any online discussion, the main page for it for Malaysia Wikipedia is Wikipedia:Meetup/Malaysia. Or from there, you can also browse for each of the meetup page which was done before (e.g. Wikipedia:Meetup/Selangor 2), where I've written each minutes of meeting from the meetup. Of course from there we need to make follow up accordingly (I try to make it continuously so that we dont keep reinventing the wheel - or keep discussing the same thing again & again). We also have our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/ms.wiki/), although less official discussions are being discussed there. This Johor Meetup 2 is also for me to understand the upcoming Wikimedia Conference 2017 in Berlin in which I will join end of this month. Following to your suggestion, I think I can setup a gmail account with its google docs for Wikipedia Malaysia ;) Traveling is a bit of a problem? I dont think so, cuz so many Singaporeans go to Johor every weekend for shopping :P Chongkian (talk) 00:48, 17 March 2017 (UTC)
