Hi there. I saw you changed a long-standing redirect into a stub article, and then someone proposed its deletion. Since the topic has been stale for 15 years apparently, it's unlikely the article has WP:POTENTIAL. If you want to re-create it, please discuss it on the relevant Talk pages. If you need any help, please don't hesitate to reply on my Talk page. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 16:06, 18 January 2017 (UTC)

Your draft article, Draft:List of unicameral legislatures

Hello, Carrot official. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "List of unicameral legislatures".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Legacypac (talk) 18:34, 25 August 2017 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Italian football clubs established in 1967

A tag has been placed on Category:Italian football clubs established in 1967 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! Redirects

Hello, Partofthemachine,

Please review Wikipedia:Redirect#Purposes of redirects. It is not helpful to make a redirect for every possible misspelling of a name. And if there is an article on Alexa Dectis, it makes no sense to create a redirect at Alexa Dectis (actor) because readers will just search for her name, Alexa Dectis, and are unlikely to add "actor" to their search terms. Redirects should be for alternative names & terms that readers might search for, not more complicated versions of their names. Wikipedia:Redirect has a lot of helpful information that will be useful if you choose to spend time on this editing task. You might also visit Redirects for Discussion where editors discuss whether questionable redirects should be kept or deleted. Liz Read! Talk! 05:58, 24 March 2021 (UTC)

Block appeal

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.

Partofthemachine (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

(Note: This is largely copied from a previous appeal that I was not able to post on the talk page.)

I would like to take this opportunity to appeal the indefinite block I was given in April 2021. The reason I was blocked was primarily because of two factors. First, I nominated a largely legitimate user subpage for deletion because I disliked the user that created it. I now recognize that this was immature and a waste of editors' time. Second, I created user pages and user talk pages for new users even though this was not necessary, because those users can create pages of their own. Because it has now been over a year since I was blocked, I request to be unblocked per WP:SO. Partofthemachine (talk) 21:12, 17 July 2022 (UTC)

Accept reason:

No objections to giving this user another chance. Graham87 06:43, 18 July 2022 (UTC)

You forgot the part from your UTRS ticket where you described what constructive edits you would make. No unblock request is complete without that. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 21:52, 17 July 2022 (UTC)
(Again mostly from the UTRS ticket.) I will engage in making mostly the same types of edits that I was making prior to April 2021 (aside from the ones that are considered unconstructive obviously), such as grammar fixes, topics related to programming and mathematics, and AFD discussions. Partofthemachine (talk) 01:57, 18 July 2022 (UTC)
  • Inclined to unblock. @Graham87: What say you. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 06:21, 18 July 2022 (UTC)
    • Yeah I guess there's no harm in giving an unblock a go. Done. Graham87 06:43, 18 July 2022 (UTC)

November 2022

This is the only message I will leave here. I have very politely asked you to stay off my talk page. That is a perfectly normal request and on Wikipedia it is expected to be respected. I have been around on Wikipedia for a great many years and there are 629 people watching my talk page, there are 24,059 links to it and 2,733 editors have contributed to it. In 16 years you are only the 4th person I have asked to stay away. Take my advice, you have already invited sanctions and you are continuing to step on our policies. Enjoy your editing but do try avoid being a Wiki policeman until you have a lot more experience. Maybe Chris troutman is the person to ask, he's as experienced as I am - perhaps more so. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 03:09, 8 November 2022 (UTC)

Partofthemachine, Kudpung is right when he says that the norm on Wikipedia is that when an editor bans you from their talk page, you stay away forever. I, myself, have been banned by two other editors from their talk pages (each about five years ago) and I respect their requests. If you have questions ask me but leave Kudpung out of this. Chris Troutman (talk) 03:51, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
I don't know why you think I have an issue with doing that. Another user requested that I avoid his talk page about a year ago and I haven't commented there since. Partofthemachine (talk) 03:56, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
This is the last comment I will make about this situation: I don't have anything against Kudpung, and I agree that he was right in discouraging the user in question from starting an RfA. I just think it would have been better if he had just linked to WP:NOTNOW instead of saying he would need to wait 3 years before even thinking about becoming an admin. ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:32, 29 November 2022 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Readlink

The article Readlink has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:NOTMANUAL and fails WP:N.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Fram (talk) 10:10, 14 December 2022 (UTC)

Nomination of Readlink for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Readlink is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Readlink until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article until the discussion has finished.

Hello. I'm leaving you this message to let you know that I've removed your Good Article nomination at The Low End Theory. It appears you have not substantially contributed to this article before nominating it. While "drive-by" nominations have always been discouraged, there is now a consensus that they are subject to removal without review. The relevant discussion can be found here, and any further questions can be posted at Wikipedia talk:Good article nominations. I see that you're a fairly experienced editor, but I would suggest nominating articles where you're the primary contributor so you can get a better grasp of the Good Article process. G10 deletion request

You are creating a massive Streisand effect with your G10 nominations. Please reconsider your G10 tagging and deletion requests for user and user talk pages that have not been edited for years, it's just shining a spotlight on them and feeding the trolls.-- Ponyobons mots 23:29, 2 February 2023 (UTC)

Keep in mind that many of these pages show up in the search results for these users. Partofthemachine (talk) 00:16, 3 February 2023 (UTC)
You have to be specifically looking for them, and even then, G10 rarely applies as the pages created are not attack pages (which makes G10 inapplicable), it's the user names that are disruptive. If you want usernames from over a decade ago removed, they would need to be globally oversighted, but again the Streisand effect comes into play. With your most recent declined request, you've now created an MFD, which puts the name smack in the forefront and across multiple recent change lists and logs. While I understand your intentions, you are accomplishing the opposite of what you're trying to achieve.-- Ponyobons mots 00:25, 3 February 2023 (UTC)

Draft:Definition of a Cute Fall

Hello, Partofthemachine,

I have a request to ask. When you are tagging pages for deletion, please post a notification on the talk page of the page creator letting them know of the deletion tagging. I see that you use Twinkle, which is great, but check your Twinkle Preferences and make sure that the box stating "Notify page creator" is checked off. It should then be checked off every time you tag a page for any type of deletion, CSD, PROD, AFD/RFD/MFD/etc. but it doesn't hurt to double-check and make sure it is checked. It's just best practices for editors who do patrolling so I'd appreciate you adopting this habit. Many thanks! Liz Read! Talk! 07:08, 24 February 2023 (UTC)

I generally do, but this particular draft was created by a long-term abuser that creates drafts with nonsense text (Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Gsthae with tempo!), and they clearly already know that their pages are eligible for speedy deletion. Eric Lerner

I appreciate your enthusiasm, but before you tagged Eric Lerner with pseudoscience banners, did you read the talk history/archives and those of the plasma cosmology article? There is a long recurring debate going back to about 2004. Jon (talk) 02:05, 1 June 2023 (UTC)

Please read the edit summary on my most recent edit to Talk:Eric Lerner. Plasma cosmology (and for the record, the talk page for that article has the exact same CT template) does not have the explanatory power that the Big Bang cosmology does, which is why it hasn't been the subject of serious research for decades. Partofthemachine (talk) 03:30, 1 June 2023 (UTC)
I'm aware of both your edit summary and what you believe, which is why I thought discussing it here would be better than engaging in edit-warring. Not that PC has all the answers either, but I always find it interesting when folks talk about explanatory power, yet we have all these pesky 8σ and Hubble tensions, Lithium problems, mature JWST galaxies at z > 10, missing dark matter, missing baryons, missing dwarf galaxies, missing halos, missing Pop-III stars, too much early LSS, too many free parameters, and so on. But that's not what's really at issue; I think you should re-read the 2006 arbcom decision. If anything PC is an attempt at an alternative theoretical formulation (with a very small following) rather than any attempt to subvert or reject science per se. The folks who were black-and-white labelling and condemning things without discussion were variously cautioned, blocked and banned, regardless of whether they were right. This is also why I now focus on articles about wine and musical instruments :) — Jon (talk) 22:35, 1 June 2023 (UTC)

I thought i was trying to edit without publishing, the code is the main thing I'm interested in understanding. Sorry, both edits were purely immature, albeit rhetorically 2603:6000:AD00:3D13:142C:ED7A:569D:FF44 (talk) 05:06, 23 June 2023 (UTC)

The study aims to evaluate AI models that power recent change filters, Huggle, SWViewer, and many other anti-vandal tools. Your feedback can be really helpful! If you're interested, please check out our recruitment page for more information. Thank you for your consideration! Tzusheng (talk) 03:08, 29 June 2023 (UTC)

Need Help On Creating Table for LN Volumes

Hi Machine, I tried to add the LN sources (I have them if you need) on one of the articles but the table kept showing on the manga section. P.S, those edits were not vandalism and I'm aware that you reverted them. --2603:7000:4001:8BBA:5C9E:E3A6:39CC:69A7 (talk) 18:50, 22 July 2023 (UTC)

Cult vs cult of personality

Hi. These two terms do not mean the same thing. The former usually refers to a social group with unusual beliefs or norms. The latter refers to an idealized public image of a person. The category cult leaders is for the former, not the latter. StephenMacky1 (talk) 20:34, 25 August 2023 (UTC)

Worse yet, Partofthemachine, you need to refer to WP:BRD. You are already headed towards edit warring on two different articles. Feel free to discuss rather than face WP:ANEW. Chris Troutman (talk) 20:38, 25 August 2023 (UTC)

IP block exemption request

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Partofthemachine (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

My university's wireless network randomly assigns users to IP addresses, many of which are hard-blocked. This makes it inconvenient to edit. Partofthemachine (talk) 01:21, 10 September 2023 (UTC)

Decline reason:

You haven't provided your IP address so this claim can be looked into. If you don't want to post the IP publicly, please use WP:UTRS to provide it privately- or just contact a checkuser directly, please see WP:IPECPROXY. 331dot (talk) 08:46, 10 September 2023 (UTC)

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

IEA on the political spectrum

Why have you reverted my edit on the IEA? The previous source is the NY Times, the source I used was a journal published by the American Association of University Professors. Alexanderkowal (talk) 22:19, 29 September 2023 (UTC)

DYK for Iribe Center

On 30 September 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Iribe Center, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status.
