DYK for Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz
On 5 October 2015, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz features guest vocals from Big Sean, Sarah Barthel from Phantogram, and Ariel Pink? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |
Thanks for turning me onto a new artist
I didn't realize that Wayne Chabre had such an interesting body of work. I didn't know anybody had done a bust of John Von Neumann, for instance. Are you planning to write an article? — Brianhe (talk) 17:34, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
- P.S. started Draft:John von Neumann (sculpture) just now. — Brianhe (talk) 17:43, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Brianhe: Thanks. His work is quite interesting and he is deserving of an article. I don't have immediate plans to start an article about him, but that's only because my personal preference is to create articles about individuals works of art, more so than artist biographies. By the way, your draft is a duplicate of Portrait Head of Von Neumann. Would you care to merge your draft into the existing article. I am open to renaming the page, but I wanted to start with the Smithsonian source and I was not sure of the sculpture's 'common name'. ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:24, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
- Aw darn, I thought I started something new. Go ahead and merge if you have time. I do think, however, from my quick research that John von Neumann is the common name. I'll keep the Chabre bio on the list of "things to do someday". - Brianhe (talk) 18:29, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Brianhe: Thanks for your work, nonetheless. I will try to merge the info. In the meantime, if you have an interest in public art / sculpture in Oregon, you might check out Wikipedia:Oregon Arts Project/Visual Arts/Sculpture and its talk page. I mostly use it as a checklist and resource, but you can see which works have existing articles and which need to be created. ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:32, 5 October 2015 (UTC)

Hey AB, I just reviewed The Pioneer Mother Memorial for the GOCE. I made a few small changes but overall it looks quite good. I did have a few questions about certain minor details, though. One, in the infobox you give the condition per the 1995 report, but the main text says that it has been renovated since then. Two, the quote says that Esther is not "armed with a gun", yet she's holding a rifle. You correctly quoted the source, but it appears to be a self-published book, so perhaps not the best source, especially for a block quote. Perhaps you could find another description of the statue, like a book about Fairbanks that includes descriptions of his sculptures? Cheers, Tdslk (talk) 19:51, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Tdslk: Thank you for your time and assistance. In the infobox, I replaced "treatment needed" with "Renovated c. 2000". Does that work? Also, I went ahead and removed the block quote, per your suggestion. Thanks again! ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:09, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
Hello, and thanks for your contributions! I'd like to ask one thing: could you please use the "coord missing" template, instead of "coords missing", when creating new articles? While the second redirects to the former, and thus works fine in articles, using "coord missing" directly makes a number of automated bot workflows work better by eliminating the overhead of having to track down the uses of "coords missing" to eliminate the redirects. Thanks, -- The Anome (talk) 11:22, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
- @The Anome: Yes, I have already started using "coord missing" for new articles. For the longest time, I was using "coords missing" because I was thinking "coordinates" (plural). But, I've corrected my usage and thanks for the reminder! ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:02, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you! -- The Anome (talk) 14:10, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
- Update: I've now converted all the remaining instances of {{coords missing}} in articles to use {{coord missing}} instead, so everything should now be resolved. -- The Anome (talk) 12:15, 8 October 2015 (UTC)

Movement Wide Finance Report 2014
Dear Believer,
I’m Alex, currently a finance fellow (i.e intern) at the Wikimedia Foundation. I worked before for Wikimedia France, planning the Hackathon Lyon 2015 mainly. I'm today contacting you because of your activity for Wikimedia North Carolina Triangle User Group.
Last year, Finance Fellows produced a financial report that included financial activity from every chapters. It was great and has been presented at the Wikimania in Mexico.
If you haven’t seen the results of the Report 2013, here they are: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Chapter-wide_Financial_Trends_Report_2013
We’re currently starting the Report 2014 and this year we also want to include user groups to improve the scope of our work. I want to tell you that I’ve tried to make the process as short and easy as possible, so that shouldn’t require a lot of your time.
The aim of such a report is global. It helps having an idea of how the money is used across the movement, it helps chapters and user groups to learn about best practice and finally it leads to more transparency through a qualitative work, which I believe is important.
Could you briefly tell me if you had any income and expenses in 2014? If you are not the person responsible for this, please tell me who is the user the most likely to know this information.
I’ll be your contact for this project this year, I’m looking forward to working with you!
Cheers, ACella (WMF) (talk) 23:27, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
- Hi, Alex. I support the Wikimedia North Carolina Triangle User Group and its activities, but I am not connected to the group in any official capacity. I am more involved with the Cascadia Wikimedians User Group and the Wikimedia LGBT+ User Group. ---Another Believer (Talk) 01:24, 7 October 2015 (UTC)
Replaceable fair use File:Bear Gargoyle, University of Oregon, 2015.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Bear Gargoyle, University of Oregon, 2015.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Steel1943 (talk) 00:11, 8 October 2015 (UTC)

2014 White House intrusion
I think before we nominate the article for GA it should undergo a peer review (plus i'd like to refine a few things myself while we're waiting for a peer review). I currently already have an article nominated for peer review and you're only allowed to have one article nominated at a time, so would you be interested in nominating it? :) Freikorp (talk) 08:25, 12 October 2015 (UTC)
- Done ---Another Believer (Talk) 17:06, 12 October 2015 (UTC)
- Well that got a thorough review very quickly. I'll leave it up to you whether you want to keep the peer review open in the hopes of getting more comments or close it and nominate it for GA. In either case be advised I'll probably be taking a considerably long wikibreak starting from November 9, so if the GA nomination remains open past that date you may be the only one watching over it. Freikorp (talk) 11:12, 13 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Freikorp: I closed the peer review (hopefully correctly). You've completed much more work on this article than I have. Do you want to nominate the article for Good status? Co-nominating is also an option, but I don't want to take credit for your work. :) ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:40, 13 October 2015 (UTC)
- Peer review close looks good. Sure, I'll nominate it, thanks. But if you could watch 2014 White House intrusion/GA1 I would appreciate it; in the event it takes several weeks for someone to review it AND I end up taking that wikibreak it will be up to you to address the nominators concerns. :) Freikorp (talk) 15:53, 13 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Freikorp: Yes, I will definitely add the page to my watchlist. I'd love to see this article reach GA status. Then, I may revisit the other article that was redirected (which I still completely disagree with and think could also reach GA status with a little more work). ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:56, 13 October 2015 (UTC)

While we're on the subject of GA, would you be interested in trading music article reviews? I see you have Jacques Gershkovitch nominated and I have nominated DJ AM. I would intend to do a thorough review of your article and would expect you to do likewise, so don't feel bad about failing my nomination if it isn't up to scratch. Also no worries if you don't think it's a good idea to trade or don't have the time, I just hate having things waiting at GAN haha. Freikorp (talk) 23:41, 13 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Freikorp: I appreciate the offer, but I must decline, only because I don't have experience reviewing other articles and, frankly, it is not how I enjoy spending my time. I am much more interested in creating content. :) ---Another Believer (Talk) 23:45, 13 October 2015 (UTC)

Atatürk's sculptures
Hi, I see that you've created two articles about Atatürk's sculptures. Thanks. However, I don't agree on the titles. "Atatürk's sculpture (XX)" is much better than "Mustafa Kemal Atatürk (XX)" Please consider moving the titles. Nedim Ardoğa (talk) 10:36, 15 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Nedim Ardoğa: Thanks for your feedback, but I am used to seeing sculptures disambiguated by artist name (per Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Visual_arts#Article_titles). ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:01, 15 October 2015 (UTC)
- Yes. "Atatürk's sculpture (XX)" sounds like a sculpture by Ataturk, not of him. And statues should be called statues, if any term is used. Johnbod (talk) 15:57, 15 October 2015 (UTC)

WikiProject X Newsletter • Issue 5
Hello there! Happy to be writing this newsletter once more. This month:
In July, we launched five pilot WikiProjects: WikiProjects Cannabis, Evolutionary Biology, Ghana, Hampshire, and Women's Health. We also use the new design, named "WPX UI," on WikiProject Women in Technology, Women in Red, WikiProject Occupational Safety and Health. We are currently looking for projects for the next round of testing. If you are interested, please sign up on the Pilots page.
Shortly after our launch we presented at Wikimania 2015. Our slides are on Wikimedia Commons.
Then after all that work, we went through the process of figuring out whether we accomplished our goal. We reached out to participants on the redesigned WikiProjects, and we asked them to complete a survey. (If you filled out your survey—thank you!) While there are still some issues with the WikiProject tools and the new design, there appears to be general satisfaction (at least among those who responded). The results of the survey and more are documented in our grant report filed with the Wikimedia Foundation.
There is more work that needs to be done, so we have applied for a renewal of our grant. Comments on the proposal are welcome. We would like to improve what we have already started on the English Wikipedia and to also expand to Wikimedia Commons and Wikidata. Why those? Because they are multilingual projects and because there needs to be better coordination across Wikimedia projects. More details are available in the renewal proposal.
The Wikimedia Developer Summit will be held in San Francisco in January 2016. The recently established Community Tech team at the Wikimedia Foundation is interested in investigating what technical support they can provide for WikiProjects, i.e., support beyond just templates and bots. I have plenty of opinions myself, but I want to hear what you think. The session is being planned on Phabricator, the Wikimedia bug tracker. If you are not familiar with Phabricator, you can log in with your Wikipedia username and password through the "Login or Register: MediaWiki" button on the login page. Your feedback can help make editing Wikipedia a better experience.
Until next time,

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Wind-Rain Song sculpture by Weltzin Blix, Eugene, Oregon.jpg
Thank you for uploading File:Wind-Rain Song sculpture by Weltzin Blix, Eugene, Oregon.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 21:48, 27 October 2015 (UTC)

- So if we upload pics here on Wikipedia instead of putting them on Commons, that makes them fair game, uh fair use? 'Cos I deleted my Kesey pics off Commons because of copyright stuff. What pics do you still need? With the caveat that I'm lazy and the light is always bad. I have BTW, pics of Proctor's "Indian Maiden and Fawn" from the basement of the UO art museum. She used to be out front until a vandal attacked her, long ago in the 1970s, so there's a good story there. Valfontis (talk) 02:38, 30 October 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, images can be uploaded here at English Wikipedia under fair use. You can use the upload link on the sidebar, then click on "This is a copyrighted, non-free work, but I believe it is Fair Use", followed by "This is a depiction of a copyrighted three-dimensional work or building" along with the other parameters. As far as images go, I think only
Bison, Einstein Gargoyle, Encounter,Lady,Great Blue Heron,Three Standing Forms, andTrapezoid Eare missing illustrations. You can see my note taking at Wikipedia:Oregon Arts Project/Visual Arts/Sculpture and its talk page (Wikipedia talk:Oregon Arts Project/Visual Arts/Sculpture) if you are curious about existing articles and ones that still need to be created (if notable enough). BTW, Indian Maiden and Fawn does appear to be notable enough for an article. I will add this one to the list to be created, unless you want to beat me to the punch! I am happy to see a couple other WPORE editors interested in sculpture/public art. ---Another Believer (Talk) 02:47, 30 October 2015 (UTC)- I should be able to get photos of those. As far as images go, I think only
- So if we upload pics here on Wikipedia instead of putting them on Commons, that makes them fair game, uh fair use? 'Cos I deleted my Kesey pics off Commons because of copyright stuff. What pics do you still need? With the caveat that I'm lazy and the light is always bad. I have BTW, pics of Proctor's "Indian Maiden and Fawn" from the basement of the UO art museum. She used to be out front until a vandal attacked her, long ago in the 1970s, so there's a good story there. Valfontis (talk) 02:38, 30 October 2015 (UTC)

WikiCup 2015: The results
WikiCup 2015 is now in the books! Congrats to our finalists and winners, and to everyone who took part in this year's competition.
This year's results were an exact replica of last year's competition. For the second year in a row, the 2015 WikiCup champion is Godot13 (submissions) (FP bonus points). All of his points were earned for an impressive 253 featured pictures and their associated bonus points (5060 and 1695, respectively). His entries constituted scans of currency from all over the world and scans of medallions awarded to participants of the U.S. Space program. Cwmhiraeth (submissions) came in second place; she earned by far the most bonus points (4082), for 4 featured articles, 15 good articles, and 147 DYKs, mostly about in her field of expertise, natural science. Cas Liber (submissions), a finalist every year since 2010, came in third, with 2379 points.
Our newcomer award, presented to the best-performing new competitor in the WikiCup, goes to Rationalobserver (submissions). Everyone should be very proud of the work they accomplished. We will announce our other award winners soon.
A full list of our award winners are:
- Godot13 (submissions) (FP bonus points) wins the prize for first place and the FP prize for 330 featured pictures in the final round.
- Cwmhiraeth (submissions) wins the prize for second place and the DYK prize for 160 did you knows in the final round (310 in all rounds).
- Cas Liber (submissions) wins the prize for third place and the FA prize for 26 featured articles in all rounds.
- West Virginian (submissions) wins the prize for fourth place
- Calvin999 (submissions) wins a final 8 prize.
- Rationalobserver (submissions) wins a final 8 prize.
- Harrias (submissions) wins a final 8 prize and the FL prize for 11 featured lists.
- Rodw (submissions) wins the most prizes: a final 8 prize, the GA prize for 41 good articles, and the topic prize for a 13-article good topic and an 8-article featured topic, both in round 3.
- ThaddeusB (submissions) wins the news prize for the most news articles in round 3.
We warmly invite all of you to sign up for next year's competition. Discussions and polls concerning potential rules changes are also open, and all are welcome to participate. The WikiCup judges will be back in touch over the coming months, and we hope to see you all in the 2016 competition. Until then, it only remains to once again congratulate our worthy winners, and thank all participants for their involvement! Declined speedy deletion request
Hi, I have declined your WP:G6 (db-disambig) request at Justin bieber purpose. Firstly this is a redirect not a disambiguation page. Secondly it has recently been kept here. It is good practice to check the talk page for previous discussions before nominating for deletion. Thanks. Just Chilling (talk) 23:54, 15 November 2015 (UTC)
- @Just Chilling: First, apologies for marking the page as a disambiguation page. I realized my mistake right after tagging the article, but figured an admin would still judge whether or not the redirect served a purposes. I did fail to see the talk page, so thanks for the reminder. I still think the redirect is pointless, but I don't feel strongly about deleting redirects if others believe they serve a purpose. Thanks for your assistance. ---Another Believer (Talk) 00:00, 16 November 2015 (UTC)

Bot automation at Wikipedia:Today's articles for improvement
Greetings WikiProject TAFI members!
Over the past two weeks, there has been extensive discussion on introducing bot automation to assist with maintenance of the Today's Articles for Improvement project. A bot has now been approved for trial and will carry out the weekly duties. The bots first run will occur around 00:00, 22 November 2015 (UTC) (midnight on Sunday).
If you have been assisting any of the weekly maintenance tasks, please refrain from doing so this week. The bot needs to be tested and proven it can do the job, and it only gets one chance per week. The tasks will include:
- Adding the new scheduled article to Wikipedia talk:Today's articles for improvement and removing the entry from Wikipedia:Articles for improvement
- Set up the schedule pages for the new TAFI, except the adding of an image and caption
- Adding {{TAFI}} to the new article for improvement, remove {{TAFI}} from last week's article and add {{Former TAFI}} to the talk page
- Notify relevant WikiProjects that the new TAFI is within their scope
- Send a mass message to everyone on the notification list of the new TAFI selection
Updating the accomplishments and archiving selections is still done manually, along with daily tasks such as adding approved entries to the articles for improvement page. These will become automated in the near future.
We hope the bot proves to serve well, and by carrying out the routine housekeeping tasks we can boost the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the project. MusikBot thanks you for your service in helping with the weekly tasks in the past, and for your cooperation during this trial period :)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jeff the Diseased Lung until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. 3RR Warning
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on seedfeeder. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Seedfeeder Fan (talk) 19:06, 25 November 2015 (UTC)

Street art
I'm a little concerned about some of the articles on street art you;ve been writing--the sources don't seem adequate to me, and at first glance I do not see that the artists are notable. Local travel guides and the like are not really good sources for the notability of art, but there has been some difficulty in establishing criteria in this area, as they are less apt to be covered by theusual art sources unless the artists are famous. Perhaps you can find some more to add. DGG ( talk ) 05:21, 26 November 2015 (UTC)
- OK. ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:20, 26 November 2015 (UTC)
- If there are specific works that concern you, please feel free to post on their talk page or add a "notability" tag to the page. Remember, if any of these works are deemed not notable, the content can simply be merged to a page like MAX Orange Line (where there is currently a public art section), or we can create something along the lines of List of public art on the MAX Orange Line. These pages serve a purpose, even as a redirect, so AfD is not necessary. Thanks. I will be traveling and off-wiki for a short time, so we can discuss further upon my return. ---Another Believer (Talk) 17:35, 30 November 2015 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Tri It, Portland, Oregon, 2015.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Tri It, Portland, Oregon, 2015.jpg.
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
Thank you. Fut.Perf. ☼ 21:51, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
- @Future Perfect at Sunrise: Thanks for the notice. I have been uploading images of contemporary sculptures and murals at Wikipedia for years, but only recently have I started getting notifications questioning their appropriateness (see above). All I can say is, this is a contemporary work of art. I am not sure of its copyright status, but I thought we could upload one fair use image of works of art at English Wikipedia (not Commons). I took this picture myself and don't have a preference for how it is used. I just want to illustrate the Wikipedia article about the mural. Does that help? ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:00, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
- If I add the "Non-free fair use" template to the image, does that address your concern? I am not sure of the differences between 2D art and 3D sculpture. ---Another Believer (Talk) 22:03, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
- I don't know if this will resolve your specific issues, but what's called "Freedom of Panorama" does not generally extend in the United States to three-dimensional works of art. You'll find explanations and examples here. A local example would be a photo I uploaded to the East Bank Esplanade article some years ago. Because it included the Vera Katz sculpture near the Hawthorne Bridge, it was removed as a copyvio. Finetooth (talk) 00:39, 1 December 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks, Finetooth, but this image is actually about a 2D work of art (mural). Most of the images I upload are of 3D works of art (sculpture). I've uploaded images of both for years, but only recently have they started being tagged. I wonder if the upload process has changed? I don't think I am skipping any parameters when using the upload wizard. ---Another Believer (Talk) 00:41, 1 December 2015 (UTC)
- I don't think an automated process (the wizard) can make decisions about what is protected by copyright. It might be that no human until recently has looked closely at the licenses you used for images of sculptures and other 3D works of art. Finetooth (talk) 00:54, 1 December 2015 (UTC)
- On the other hand, I don't see what the problem is with your fair-use licensing of the mural. Finetooth (talk) 01:17, 1 December 2015 (UTC)
- Neither do I. @Future Perfect at Sunrise:, you tagged the mural as failing the first fair use criterion, but didn't say why. Could you help us out and elaborate why it doesn't qualify in your opinion? L.tak (talk) 20:31, 1 December 2015 (UTC)
- I've put a pointer to this discussion on the talk page for the file. You might want to continue the discussion there (and copy the discussion so far to there as well). I also agree that this image seems to meet the fair use requirements. It is a 4.7 Mpixel file, but noise, moire, compression, and a partially obstructed view make this image unlikely to impinge on the "original market role of the original copyrighted material" while being useful for the article's intent, to "significantly increase readers' understanding of the article topic". Generic1139 (talk) 22:12, 1 December 2015 (UTC)

Hi, I reviewed this image and have removed the tag. The above discussion is correct that no free alternative can be created, since this is a copyrighted mural. Future Perfect at Sunrise may have mistaken it as a non-free image of a building, which would be eligible for deletion under the tag that was placed on the description place.
I would just like to point out two things. Another Believer, although the mural is copyrighted, your photograph itself also needs a license, preferably under one listed at WP:ICTIC. You can add it to the description page and make the distinction like so:
==Licensing==
===Mural===
{{Non-free 2D art}}

Proposed deletion of Send My Love (To Your New Lover)
The article Send My Love (To Your New Lover) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Nothing that the parent album article 25 cannot cover, or her discography page.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. — Calvin999 13:04, 4 December 2015 (UTC)
- AB: Normally, I'm happy to visit articles that you have worked hard on to rescue them from the deletion squads, but in this case, I looked at the latest non-redirect version of these song articles and believe that they did not come close to meeting WP:NSONG yet. If any of the songs receive real coverage in reliable sources, they could be restored. In other words, we have to wait for coverage to develop rather than assuming that there are sources out there and letting the article develop naturally. – Jonesey95 (talk) 17:03, 4 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Jonesey95: Thanks, but I did not expand these articles (though I did create the redirects). I don't think deletion is necessary because the redirects serve a purpose, so, if anything, these pages can just be reverted to their state as redirects. ---Another Believer (Talk) 08:53, 5 December 2015 (UTC)
- Update: I see now that the articles have all been redirected. I don't have a problem with this if notability is not yet established. I just didn't want to see the pages deleted because the redirects are helpful. Thanks for the note! ---Another Believer (Talk) 08:57, 5 December 2015 (UTC)

WikiCup 2016 is just around the corner...
Hello everyone, and we would like to wish you all a happy holiday season. As you will probably already know, the 2016 WikiCup begins in the new year; there is still time to sign up. There are some changes we'd like to announce before the competition begins.
After two years of serving as WikiCup judge, User:Miyagawa has stepped down as judge. He deserves great thanks and recognition for his dedication and hard work, and for providing necessary transition for a new group of judges in last year's Cup. Joining Christine (User:Figureskatingfan) and Jason (User:Sturmvogel 66) is Andrew (User:Godot13), a very successful WikiCup competitor and expert in Featured Pictures; he won the two previous competitions. This is a strong judging team, and we anticipate lots of enjoyment and good work coming from our 2016 competitors.
We would also like to announce one change in how this year's WikiCup will be run. In the spirit of sportsmanship, Godot13 and Cwmhiraeth have chosen to limit their participation. See here for the announcement and a complete explanation of why. They and the judges feel that it will make for a more exciting, enjoyable, and productive competition.
The discussions/polls concerning the next competition's rules will be closed soon, and rules changes will be made clear on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Scoring and talk pages. The judges are committed to not repeating the confusion that occurred last year and to ensuring that the new rules are both fair and in the best interests of the competition, which is, first and foremost, about improving Wikipedia.
If you have any questions or concerns, the judges can be reached on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, on their talk pages, or by email. We hope you will all join us in trying to make the 2015 WikiCup the most productive and enjoyable yet. You are receiving this message because you are listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. I reverted your changes to "redirect'. The AFD decision was "merge", not "retitle and screw around". Have a problem? Try WP:DRV -- which is YOUR responsibility, not of those maintaining the status quo.--Calton | Talk 12:24, 23 December 2015 (UTC)

Spirit of the American Range - GOCE Copy Edit
Hello Another Believer:
Hello: The copy edit you requested by the Guild of Copy Editors of the article Spirit of the American Range has been completed. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. You'll notice that I archived a couple of your citations - 1 and 2 - and I would strongly suggest that you archive the rest as time allows. This ensures your article's references are available "forever". The site I use is https://archive.org/web/. Simply copy the url in your citation and paste it in the box on the archive.org site and click save. It creates a copy of the original page and provides you with a new url to add to your original citation. If you look at one of the url's I've archived you'll see the syntax. You add the new url to the end of the original citation like this: |archiveurl= http etc|archivedate=D M Year}} Not all websites allow archiving - CBS TV news and the NY Times are two I've come across, so there's not much you can do about that unless there is an alternate citation you could use. Kind regards.Twofingered Typist (talk) 14:58, 24 December 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you for your time and assistance, and for explaining the archive process. Happy holidays! ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:29, 24 December 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Denver Wrangler
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Denver Wrangler, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. DGG ( talk ) 20:33, 28 December 2015 (UTC)
- Consider doing some research before marking an article for speedy delete. It appears someone already removed the speedy tag before I finished my "contested deletion" comment on the talk page, but I posted some additional sources there. ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:56, 28 December 2015 (UTC)
