Wikipedia and copyright

Hello TheChunky, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your additions to Exodus of Kashmiri Hindus have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — MarkH21talk 03:28, 20 March 2020 (UTC)

The content I added in the article was in public domain. The is allows us to use the content after giving reference to Article owner.
Kindly add back the information. That is too much important for the article. As this article is not from the neutral point of view. I added the two sides of the Exodus as neutral point in the article. :I firstly read that Wikipedia allowed neutral point of view only in Articles. Biased articles not allowed.
I loved to make Wikipedia neutral. TheChunky (talk) 04:50, 20 March 2020 (UTC)
You copied and pasted directly from an article by Scroll.in. Do you have evidence that their content is in the public domain as you claim? — MarkH21talk 05:27, 20 March 2020 (UTC)

Yes I copied and modified it as neutral point of view. And scroll.in allows us to use information, read Sharing Your Information-point 4. https://blog.scroll.in/privacy-policy-764ca1ea1166

Syndication and use of RSS means we can use the content on other websites except personal information. And the article I made is not personal, it is public data.

Now please revise back my edits. TheChunky (talk) 00:06, 21 March 2020 (UTC)

I joined Wikipedia some days ago, after reading some of it's policies what is allowed and what not. And I know what is right for Wikipedia. By reverting my all the edits, you guys are doing wrong. I have given evidence now. And if still my edit didn't come back. I will quit this.

I don't have much time to give evidence of everything which I edit.

I love to contribute Wikipedia and want to make Wikipedia more neutral and verified. But you are stopping me by these ways. TheChunky (talk) 00:12, 21 March 2020 (UTC)

TheChunky, you seem to find it quite difficult to follow the policies. So, here is a simple-minded explanation. You need to write your own content in your own words for Wikipedia. If you are unable to do so, you cannot edit Wikipedia. (The fact that the content should be based on what the reliable sources say does not imply that you can copy them.) -- Kautilya3 (talk) 15:20, 21 March 2020 (UTC)

Okay I got it, I will write the copy pasted content but you had reverted other editing also. Revert other minor edits, I am going to write the copy pasted content in my way. TheChunky (talk) 01:08, 22 March 2020 (UTC)

To be clear on what Kautilya3 means, ensure that all claims and ideas in the added content are directly supported by a reliable source and attributed to the source. Otherwise, if you really write your own content or your own interpretation of content, then it is original research or synthesis which are not permissible. — MarkH21talk 07:47, 22 March 2020 (UTC)

Ramadan or Ramadhan

Please do not change the standard spelling. It is really simple: if the article name is spelled "Ramadan", then so should the article and all other articles on Wikipedia, except when it is spelled otherwise in a straight quote. Debresser (talk) 10:21, 30 April 2020 (UTC)

Ramadan doesn't make actual pronunciation. It is simple mistake. Ramadhan makes actual pronunciation. TheChunky (talk) 10:59, 30 April 2020 (UTC)
Be that as it may, please do not change the standard spelling on Wikipedia without discussion. Debresser (talk) 14:17, 30 April 2020 (UTC)

Converted drafts

Several times, you created and worked on a draft, and then created an article on the same topic. This means that both the article and draft co-exist. Either use the process of submitting drafts to Articles for Creation for review and accpet/decline, or else tag the abandoned draft with a request that it be deleted. The tag to put as the first line of the draft is db-g7 inside double curly brackets {{ }} David notMD (talk) 09:10, 20 May 2020 (UTC)

Thank You for telling this. I am a new user. I didn't knew this before. Now I will delete the drafts whose articles I published directly.

Actually I was firstly collect the article in a draft and when I complete my article for publish, I use the direct procedure.

Now I understand.

Thanks again. (TheChunky (talk) 09:29, 20 May 2020 (UTC))

I have sent you a note about a page you started

Hello, TheChunky

Thank you for creating Safoora Zargar.

The subject has received significant coverage in multiple reliable sources and is definitely notable for having a stand-alone article, even per WP:1E.

Thanks, hope you guide me in future too. @AaqibAnjum:

@TheChunky:, If there is much vandalism, please request for page protection at WP:RFPP. Thanks. - Aaqib Anjum Aafī (talk) 22:36, 20 May 2020 (UTC)

Thank You, the article Safoora Zargar was much vandalised since I created it. I managed edit it again and again.

Kindly tell me, how to restore older version if someone vandalised our Article. And how to mention that user for blocking from vandalism. — TheChunky (talk) 22:46, 20 May 2020 (UTC)

There is nothing 'our' on the Wikipedia. However, if someone vandalizes any article, there are two things to do, one is to revert the edit and the second is to warn that user on his talk page. You must see in the history section of any article is Undo option on the top most edit, that's pretty long haul if there are numerous such edits. If a single user makes multiple edits which count as vandalism, they're reverted through a special permission called Rollback in a single click, and that's not a permission given to newbie users. If you want earlier version of the article to be restored, you can do this by going to the relevant diff in the article's history and click restore; but that would remove all the edits made after that diff, even good ones. You should try adding content again from the history of article. You can also use Twinkle to counter vandalism. Best. Aaqib Anjum Aafī (talk) 22:54, 20 May 2020 (UTC)

Thank You. I didn't mean that possession for calling it 'our'. I means to say that the article I started/created.

I know that articles didn't belongs to anyone personally.

Speedy deletion nomination of Vicky Manhas

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Vicky Manhas requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. DMySon 03:14, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

Search the name, and see why it is notable. TheChunky (talk) 03:19, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

This is not the first article I am writing. I know the notability criteria.

Kindly remove this tag. TheChunky (talk) 03:21, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

Are these things not sufficient?

Zea Abad (Thathri) Tagged With Multiple Issues

Hi TheChunky, just wanted to let you know that your recently created article Zea Abad (Thathri) is tagged with multiple issues. You may remove the concerned tags after fixing the issues. The article needs reliable reference as it solely depends on a single source. Keeping the article tagged for a longer time may invite a speedy deletion tag. The Ultimate Let's Talk 18:20, 20 May 2020 (UTC)

I have tried to find more sources for it. But I got 2-3 sources only where it is just mentioned. And I think 'just mentioning' is not suits as references.

Just like you can also search Middle School Zea Abad Thathri scam on Early Times newspaper. The Zea Abad name is in documents of the area. So I put it on wiki.

You can help me in fixing the issues too. As you have many edits related to nearby areas. — TheChunky (talk) 22:32, 20 May 2020 (UTC)

@The Ultimate: that article shouldn't be merged with Thathri . As it was separated from Thathri when Thathri became town in 2010. I am trying to finding sources online to add them as references. TheChunky (talk) 23:14, 20 May 2020 (UTC)

I may help in improving the article as I find some reliable sources mentioning the place. Keep up your valuable contributions to Wikipedia. :) The Ultimate Let's Talk 07:42, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

Conflict of Interest

"Linked and minor grammar"

Note: (This section of discussion is about Safoora Zargar, started by Toddy1 on talk page of The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri)

@TheChunky:, with the greatest respect, your English is not that great. You may have noticed that the article you wrote on Safoora Zargar was tagged: "This article may require copy editing for grammar, style, cohesion, tone, or spelling." I think you should spend your time adding to articles or developing new articles rather than "correcting the grammar".

Have you heard of the word "buzzword"? Replacing normal words with buzzwords is not a good idea.

Have your heard of the concept of "overlinking"? There are several key ideas:

  1. It might be useful to link Tihar Jail once in the article, because most English people have never heard of it. But if we mention Tihar Jail again, it does not need to be linked.
  2. Similarly, it can be useful to link words or concepts that people are unfamiliar with or might not understand. But we need a very good reason to link words or concepts that everybody understands.
  3. If there are a small number of links, the reader is guided to them. If there are lots of links, the reader ignores them.

-- Toddy1 (talk) 08:56, 31 May 2020 (UTC)

Hehe. Sorry. Thanks for guiding me. Will do the same which you told me. And also I will try to improve my English also.

One senior is guiding me as an adoptee. Is there option to that you also adopt me on wiki. Means, I will learn from both. The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️) TheChunky (talk) 09:05, 31 May 2020 (UTC)

@@Toddy1: I had reverted back my last edits. 🙂 Keep guiding me. Yours guidance will improve my skills and my bad English. TheChunky (talk) 09:12, 31 May 2020 (UTC)
Thanks. Sometimes, you have a good point when you do not understand something. I suggest that you use the article talk page to raise this. I have tried to fix the problem you raised about the 2018 quotation from her about her experience at school in Dehli at the age of five: "You are a terrorist, go back to Pakistan".-- Toddy1 (talk) 09:31, 31 May 2020 (UTC)

I just checked. Seems improved.

#MyRequest is unanswered about Adopting me on wiki. The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️) TheChunky (talk) 09:37, 31 May 2020 (UTC)

Have you got a copy of The Complete Plain Words, by Sir Ernest Gowers? There are many versions of this book. I recommend it.-- Toddy1 (talk) 09:40, 31 May 2020 (UTC)
Also you need to take great care to make sure that information is cited correctly. It is really easy to make a mistake, and put true information in, but with the wrong citation. It is a good idea to use the "show preview" button, and check that the links on the citations take you to the right place.-- Toddy1 (talk) 09:40, 31 May 2020 (UTC)

@Toddy1: Thank You for suggesting me this book. I will read it for sure. Yes, I check the reference preview. Actually, in the beginning, I use simple external link type references to all when I was new. But recently my adoptee shown me how to give reference citations. Hope, if you also like to adopt me, so that I can be a successful editor on Wikipedia. The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️) 09:44, 31 May 2020 (UTC)

Linking to headings.

See what happens when you click on the links. The reason for the difference in behaviour, is that there is a heading that is exactly called Role in Delhi riots, but there is not one called Fake vids.

Now try clicking on #Ramadan or Ramadhan and #MyRequest.-- Toddy1 (talk) 09:49, 31 May 2020 (UTC)

Yes, I already read this yesterday. Thanks for this. But I just highlighted my point only. I know there is other options to highlight it. But shortly I just meant to request Adoption from you as you are one of the senior editor. The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️) 09:54, 31 May 2020 (UTC)

Please do not do links just to highlight things. It is confusing. The following techniques are ok on talk pages:
  • ''Italics'' produces Italics
  • '''Bold''' produces Bold
  • <u>Underlined</u> produces Underlined
  • <span style="color:#DD0000;">Coloured</span> produces Coloured

How to set up an archive bot

Can you please tell me, how to set bot for archiving old messages on my talk page? — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️)02:03, 1 June 2020 (UTC)

code

{{User:MiszaBot/config |archiveheader = {{talk archive navigation}} |maxarchivesize = 200K |counter = 1 |minthreadsleft = 3 |minthreadstoarchive = 3 |algo = old(31d) |archive = User talk:TheChunky/Archive %(counter)d }} {{archives}}

explanation

Each main heading on the page is a "thread".

  • minthreadsleft = 3 means please always leave three headings on your page.
  • minthreadstoarchive = 3 means only run the archive bot on the page if at least three threads will be archived
  • algo = old(31d) means only archive threads where the newest post is at least 31 days ago
  • maxarchivesize = 200K
  • counter = 1
  • archive = User talk:TheChunky/Archive %(counter)d means start archiving at User talk:TheChunky/Archive 1. When the archive is 200k change the counter to 2, and start archiving at User talk:TheChunky/Archive 2, and so on.

Use of square brackets in quotations

  • Wikipedia uses double square brackets for Wikilinks to other Wikipedia articles - for example [[cat]] produces cat.
  • Wikipedia also uses single square brackets as a way of marking up links to external websites - for example [https://www.thetimes.co.uk/?region=global The Times] produces The Times.
  • But normal English also uses square brackets to mark up interpolations in quotations. (see Wikipedia:Quotations)

Consider this quotation from The Times, 6 June 2020:

"Alok Sharma and Rishi Sunak filed into the cabinet room with Boris Johnson on Tuesday. For 45 minutes the business secretary and chancellor took the prime minister through the economic outlook. It was not a pretty picture."

The quotation is meaningful today, but would it still be clear in five years time? So you might decide to clarify "Tuesday" by interpolating the full date - and the standard way to do this is to use single square brackets:

"Alok Sharma and Rishi Sunak filed into the cabinet room with Boris Johnson on Tuesday [2 June 2020]. For 45 minutes the business secretary and chancellor took the prime minister through the economic outlook. It was not a pretty picture."

If you removed the square brackets people would think that the original said "on Tuesday 2 June 2020", which is untrue. The square brackets make it clear that the words are an interpolation in the quotation.-- Toddy1 (talk) 11:52, 6 June 2020 (UTC)

@Toddy1: thank you. But I still stand with my decision of removing that square brackets. Kindly check "the Barelvi movement is the Ahle Sunnat wal Jama'at, or "People of the traditions [of Muhammad] and the community," and they refer to themselves as Sunnis.
In this of Muhammad has single brackets and if we want to add informal text in between quotation we should use ( ) these brackets instead of square brackets. Like
Muhammad says, "Allah is one."
Now if we add informal word, we should do this.
Muhammad (PBUH) says, "Allah (swt) is one."
And Instead of revert back my edits you should edit and add () these brackets.
Thank You.

Thank You for guiding me @Toddy1:The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️)16:58, 6 June 2020 (UTC)
The English language uses square brackets for interpolated text. What other languages do is not relevant.
By the way, talk pages are easier to read if you use indentation. See Wikipedia:Indentation.-- Toddy1 (talk) 17:13, 6 June 2020 (UTC)

Draft:Marina Kuwar

In your haste to force Draft:Marina Kuwar through AFC, your assertion here that all the article's sources are reliable, is in fact not accurate. Four of the eight references are grossly insufficient. Care to guess which ones? Cyphoidbomb (talk) 13:33, 7 June 2020 (UTC)

In fact, Marina Kuwar is in Bollywood. And most references are reliable. When it comes to mainspace the other editors will do edit it. Now when I comes to publish this after believing there are some reliable source. — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️)21:06, 7 June 2020 (UTC)

I very strongly urge you to read WP:RS and WP:UGC as starsunfolded.com is a garbage content-scraping website, indiaforums.com is a discussion forum, and thus not suitable per WP:UGC, and Telly Dhamaal, whatever you think that is, is yet more garbage. If you don't understand basic sourcing requirements, I'm not clear on how you can be expected to vet questionable articles or provide suitable references. But please feel free to argue to the contrary. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 01:00, 8 June 2020 (UTC)

@Cyphoidbomb: Thank You for giving space for my argument. In the Draft:Marina Kuwar there are reliable sources too. New Indian Express is a proper newspaper. Zee News is a news channel. Mid Day is a "small format" newspaper. Firstpost is a news and media website that is part of Network 18.

Also if you search of Marina Kuwar on google news (Link here). You can see more reliable sources about her. Yes this article have 4 unreliable sources, which was actually added a long time ago. I think now the solution is to clean the unreliable sources and add more new reliable sources. Thank You (Ps. I am new user here, thanks again for guiding me, hope you will guide me in future too) — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️)03:22, 8 June 2020 (UTC)

Your assertion as per this edit, was that "all the sources are reliable". Now you know that half are not, so I expect you not to make such a bold, unfounded statement again, please. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 03:40, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
TheChunky - instead of trying to find sources to back up statements - try looking at reliable sources, and base the article on what reliable sources talk about.-- Toddy1 (talk) 06:39, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
@Toddy: Yes, I also said the same in my last msg, that editor should find new reliable sources to make it notable. — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️)07:12, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
It's not my job to do it. You were the one who resubmitted it through AFC when it still had four garbage references. Now other editors are going to have to waste their time looking at the article yet again and decline it for the same reasons as before? And you expect other editors to fix it? Don't submit articles when they're not ready, especially if you're not willing to invest the effort to make sure they are ready. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:09, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
There is a total mismatch between what actually happened and TheChunky's edit summaries on the article. For example: 01:35, 20 March 2020 ‎Career: Added Content, or 05:14, 31 May 2020‎ I have added much reliable references. But still rejected. So I need to clean up mine created draft. Now I am not interested to write about this lady. He/she made no changes of any kind to the text of the article,[1] though he/she did make some changes to the infobox. TheChunky's actions included twice proposing it for speedy deletion on the grounds that he/she was author of the only substantial content and twice submitted it for AFC review. It does not make any sense.-- Toddy1 (talk) 16:28, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
@Cyphoidbomb: As Toddy said that I have submitted AfC two times because of having 4 reliable sources. It got rejected due to garbage references as you said. While it is an too old draft, and got rejected several times so I added AfD tag. And coincidentally, two time deletion request also removed/rejected. Lolz. The reason for putting deletion tag that I don't want to see garbage on Wikipedia, when it got rejected for AfC too many times and no one is interested to edit it. So why my deletion request for this lady Marina Kuwar is being rejected? Reveiwers are not satisfied with AfC as well as AfD about Draft:Marina Kuwar what to do now? this is the reason I am wasting time of admin to clear this debris. Best regards — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️)17:06, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
The problem is that you are a bit clue-less. So we try to advise you.
  • The deletion requests were on the basis that the person requesting deletion was author of the only substantial content. The basis of the requests was untrue, so the requests were rejected.
  • You ask what to do now about Draft:Marina Kuwar. Nothing.
You did something useful creating an article on the 2018 Bihar riots. Maybe you are better at creating new articles than at fixing the problems with existing articles. Something else you did well was spotting errors by other editors on articles you are familiar with.-- Toddy1 (talk) 17:29, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
@Toddy1: Ok. Thank You. The main reason why I so captious here cuz I am new. Keep advising me like this, so that I can contribute wiki the best under T&Cs. From now I will leave this Daft Marina Kuwar and follow your advice. Thanks again 😊. — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️)17:40, 8 June 2020 (UTC)

Thank you for creating Sagrika Kissu.

Source 3, 4 and 5 are primary, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 are not anyway related to subject of the article while sources 1, 2 and 10 and 12 appear to pass WP:THREE., added with a fourth source make subject somehow seem notable.

Disambiguation link notification for June 14

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of Indian journalists, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Financial Express (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Use of English

See Sagrika Kissu:

  • when she interviewed fathers
    • missing word "the" before "fathers"
  • who had been killed in encounters.
    • Men who are paid money for sex with other men have "encounters".
  • She authors at Financial Express and had reported for at least one year.
    • Does this mean "In 20??-??, she was a journalist at the Financial Express."? (If the right dates are 2017-18, put that instead of ??.)
    • Citation pls
  • Later, she authors NewsClick and has been reporting for Jammu and Kashmir since 2018.
    • Does this mean "After leaving Financial Express in 2018, she was a journalist at NewsClick, and reported on Jammu and Kashmir."?
    • Citation pls
  • In another event, when tensions between India and Pakistan emerged after the Pulwama Attack and both countries was in war-like situation[6] but some people tried to create environment of dialogue between two countries. Kissu was one of the Journalist who started #SayNoToWar trend on her twitter, which was covered by International media
    • Go back to CNN and look at what it says. Then start the paragraph with whatever Kissu did.
  • in 9 districts of Bihar state
  • The fact-finding team’s report on the 2018 communal violence in 9 districts of Bihar state were proved by the team as “not spontaneous but pre-planned”
    • This means that the team proved that the report was “not spontaneous but pre-planned”. I am fairly sure you did not mean that.
  • “not spontaneous but pre-planned”
  • After 2019 Pulwama attack, when Kashmiri students and businessmen was being abused, attacked across India.
    • "was" is singular - but "Kashmiri students and businessmen" is plural.
    • "abused, attacked" - does not make sense - "abused and attacked" would make sense.
    • The "when" construction is used wrongly here. The following is correct use: "When the mouse nibbled the chocolate, the trap snapped shut." What you wrote is like: "When the mouse nibbled the chocolate."
  • After helping stranded Kashmiri Muslims in Delhi, she was trolled and abused by many people.
    • Rewrite this. You need to say what Kissu did to help people, and when. You then need to explain about the abuse. When explaining about the abuse, you need to explain how the abusers knew what she had done.

@Toddy1: Ok. Let me do all these things. Thanks for this. But I think, I have not understood that Go back to CNN . What should I have to do there? . — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️)

Birth

According to the infobox at Sagrika Kissu, she was born on 19 December 1992. There is a citation to The Huffington Post. Maybe I am dim, but I have failed to see where in that Huffington Post article it says that. Is it possible that you have the wrong citation?-- Toddy1 (talk) 12:29, 14 June 2020 (UTC)

@Toddy1: I think I cleared it while I added it. The date of birth was added in infobox after evaluating that Huffpost ref, which shows her age. And on calculation from the date of article, it is 1992. Now the month and day was taken from official twitter of the journalist. There is only date and month. Year is evaluated from huff ref.
Is this wrong way? — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️) 23:36, 14 June 2020 (UTC)
The process you used to find out her date of birth is good - but Wikipedia:Verifiability requires that provide citations that support the information - so cite her Twitter page for that. Probably the best thing to do would be have a citation that has both the Twitter page and the Huffington Post article, and to add the comment in the citation that the Twitter page is being used as a source for the day and month of her date of birth, and that the year of birth was calculated from the Huffington Post article.
Please could you do this.
By the way, you made the picture in the infobox excessively large.-- Toddy1 (talk) 07:07, 15 June 2020 (UTC)
@Toddy1: Ok I will add twitter and huff citations. The pic was showing so small so I increased the side. Kindly update the good view size which you know. — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️) 07:31, 15 June 2020 (UTC)
It is better that you look at other pages and determine what size is best and then apply it to that page. Try looking at the size of image in the infobox for Alexander Zakharchenko or Margaret Thatcher. Would that do?-- Toddy1 (talk) 07:39, 15 June 2020 (UTC)
@Toddy1: The two pages you suggested have not any |image_size tag. — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️) 08:20, 15 June 2020 (UTC)
One way to learn is to experiment until you get it right. (See below.)
One factor to consider is that different people look at Wikipedia pages on different devices. If you do not specify the image size, it will use a default "thumb" size, which will be different for different people/devices. I view this page on a 3840px wide display. Some people are viewing this page on an iPhone with a much narrower screen.-- Toddy1 (talk) 09:15, 15 June 2020 (UTC)

Career

Dear Toddy1, Thanks for your contribution on Sagrika Kissu, as I am new user I have to learn many things. And your precious contributions have taught me many things.

Coming to Question, in Career section you included In another event, when tensions between India and Pakistan emerged paragraph. I think this is type voluntarily work, like promoting a hashtag for a cause (like to stop war). Maybe I am wrong, that's why I asked here. — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️) 00:03, 15 June 2020 (UTC)

Cynics say that when models and actors promote political causes, they have mixed motives. They might believe in the cause (if they understand it), but they need publicity to promote their careers. The same argument applies to journalists.-- Toddy1 (talk) 07:15, 15 June 2020 (UTC)

@Diannaa: The content was not actually copypasted. As this article is about region. So many nouns are same in original article and on Wikipedia I have wrote it with different sources and made a neutral point of view. the copyvios tool shows 48% because of same words such as nouns and some things which were matching. I have seen you have removed the copyright content. It's okay. I will just fix some Copyedit now. And will not add anything from that source. — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️) 04:22, 18 June 2020 (UTC)

@Diannaa: Oh, actually I firstly created Draft:Saraz in which I copypasted some text which includes nouns and some information about them. I pasted that in draft not in Mainspace. In draft I read the additional information from the copypasted text and added it to the related nouns. Later I removed the copypasted text. Also when I got to know that Saraz is already an article on mainspace, then I changed the draft to Draft:Saraz region and did some Copyedit again and submitted for review. But I forget to check the information I added which was same like the copied text.
Anyways the matter is sorted out by you. I don't have any arguments anymore. Your edits at Thathri

Greetings The Chunky! Thanks for your major contributions to Wikipedia, especially your edits to Thathri. Just to remind you a bit, kindly add appropriate edit summary whenever you perform edits to any article. Sometimes it is a bit confusing for other editors to know what the edit was about! Like in this edit of you, you did provide the edit summary but it was a bit misleading. You added the climate/weather data but provided something else in the edit summary. It'd be appropriate to add "added climate/weather data" in the edit summary. You're doing a great job man! Keep it up. The Ultimate Let's Talk 19:41, 20 June 2020 (UTC)

@The Ultimate: I have added single source of weather. And it is actually on the name of Jangalwar. As I have seen, at various things Thathri is referred as Jangalwar like in shop bought Maps. So I said add extra source also. And if you get some time. You can add the appropriate readings of weather from the source given in climate reference there. I would add it but I am working on the projects right now. You are also the major contributor of the articles related to Doda District and especially Thathri . Kindly update the readings of weather/climate. With huge Thanks and regards — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️) 02:35, 21 June 2020 (UTC)

OK, I'm glad you appreciate that one should only attempt to help and answer other people if one definitely knows the answer, or at least part of it. But being relatively new here does give you a useful perspective which longer-serving editors like me don't have. i.e. you can probably relate better to the newcomer's experience, and they to you. Please don't take this the wrong way - but I think it would be far better if you tried to added the Teahouse Host userbox yourself. That is the type of question one might get asked at the Teahouse, so I would prefer you to learn how to do that sort of thing yourself if you are not currently sure about it. I am self-taught in the same way, myself. (Hint: Copy the relevant code that you can find on my own userpage). Best wishes and regards from the UK, Nick Moyes (talk) 13:24, 18 June 2020 (UTC)

Your recent contribution to answering a Teahouse query was perhaps too long and also likely confusing to the person who posed the question. Edit Warring on Doda district

Hi TheChunky, just to bring it to your notice that you recently undid an edit of mine on Doda district which I had removed because it is more than 80% plagiarism (which I had even mentioned in the edit summary, already). Also the alleged things are being considered the facts by you, which should be mentioned appropriately by you in clear words. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, not a news website. Plagiarism is not allowed on Wikipedia. The content is 100% plagiarized from here and if mentioned, should have been in "History" or some other section. I believe you did this in good faith, else it's called edit warring. I have not currently rolled back your edits (which was the only option) because I dont want some later edits of you get removed, which are constructive. Kindly rewrite the content you added, avoid plagiarism in future. The Ultimate Let's Talk 08:37, 22 June 2020 (UTC)

@The Ultimate: Thank you for not rolling back the edits. Hope you are fine. The 100% plagiarized content you are saying of this link is not added by me. This incident of Chapnari area was already there. I just made sequence date wise. This incident was listed at 4th number, I have moved to 2nd number. Besides this, I am not fighting for editing bro. Lolz. ☺️ I have added the information which actually meant for terrorism in Doda district. Because in the past, according to my research and observations, the terrorism spreads and the innocents were killed whether they were innocent Hindus, or innocent Muslims. My Editing on incidents have valid and referencing from reliable and independent sources. In conclusion, terrorism had affected both communities, but before my edits there was incomplete information there. So I completed the information. Maybe it needs minor Copyedit but overall information is backed by independent sources. Hope you understand. Thanks for message, I would love to rewrite some content which needs copyedit. And this link is about a incident which was added before me, i.e Chapnari killings of innocent Hindus. — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️) 08:55, 22 June 2020 (UTC)

Kind, from your side. Maybe you want to read WP:NOR also. Also I mentioned that I removed the plagiarized content (not all, I re-phrased most of it) and news-like/POV. You may rephrase it to make it look like encyclopedic content, currently it's like a news (mostly communal, instead of facts). The Ultimate Let's Talk 10:03, 22 June 2020 (UTC)

@The Ultimate: Yes sure, I will. And respect your editing, I have reverted only single edit not all. You edits were good there. Only the last one which you remove the numbers of Killings in the Doda district. I am rephrasing now. — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️) 11:12, 22 June 2020 (UTC)

The pages parameter in Template:Cite is not for showing how many pages there are in the document. The correct use of this parameter is to tell the user which pages he/she should look at for the information (for example, "pages=13, 666" means that the relevant pages are page 13 and page 666). If there is only one page to look at, use "page =" instead.-- Toddy1 (talk) 18:07, 25 June 2020 (UTC)

I actually meant the page number. Not the total number of pages. — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️) 18:10, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
But the page number for the section on Jai Valley was 118, not 138.-- Toddy1 (talk) 18:29, 25 June 2020 (UTC)

No. There are things I suggested you ought to do that you have chosen not to do. There is no point in my repeating this.-- Toddy1 (talk) 18:29, 25 June 2020 (UTC)

I have clarified them? Which thing is remaining? Mention me there. — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️) 18:32, 25 June 2020 (UTC)

Oh this one I have replied! Okay. I will add more information from those sources. I have to stay patient. Remembering Quran 8:46. As you know I am just some months old on wiki. 😋 Suggest me the sections which I should fill with more information? — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️) 18:45, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
@TheChunky: The way to do it, is to go through each source carefully one at a time see what you could add to the article.
When I do this kind of thing on articles, sometimes I only realise the next day the significance of some things in a source, and have to go back to the source to improve the article.-- Toddy1 (talk) 20:21, 25 June 2020 (UTC)

Toddy1 Done, I have added more information from sources which is important to it. It may require some Copyedit for grammar. Kindly see. — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️) 23:39, 25 June 2020 (UTC)

Dear Toddy1, I have added more information to improve the article. Any more improvement required?? — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️) 09:23, 26 June 2020 (UTC)

There is a road project - it has been going on for many years. This should be in the article. When did it start? How far completed is it? Where is the road meant to start and end? Where does it currently start and end? Is it expected to be the kind of road that people in the West are used to? (tarmac surface that functions in all weathers) And what surface does it currently have?-- Toddy1 (talk) 09:38, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
The stream. Rivers like the Thames and the Dnieper run all year round. Some rivers in J&K are like that (e.g. the River Chenab). But the Jai Nallah is not like that. So how does it vary with time of year?-- Toddy1 (talk) 09:38, 26 June 2020 (UTC)

Hmm. Okay. I will do that too. Let me find some sources. — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️) 13:49, 26 June 2020 (UTC)

Oh, It was my fault. Thanks. Now what is the next step for this draft? — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️) 07:27, 27 June 2020 (UTC)

It does not matter whose fault it is. These templates are good, but it is easy to make mistakes. The reason for showing you the diffs, was to help you learn how to spot the causes of error, so you can guess how to fix them.-- Toddy1 (talk) 11:47, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
If you look at my edits today, you will see that I missed out a "]]", which messed up a template. It took me a while to spot that the template had gone wrong. It took me 5-10 minutes to spot the error that caused it to go wrong. I ended up posting the completed template on a sandbox page and experimenting using page preview before I spotted what was wrong.-- Toddy1 (talk) 12:19, 27 June 2020 (UTC)

What needs to be done is to read through it again, and check statements against the sources that are cited for them. Ask yourself these questions for each:
  1. does this source really support this statement?
  2. is the English OK?
  3. are there things that need explaining better?

Jai Valley name

I have gone through the sources to check how they capitalise "Jai Valley". When I tried, I failed to open source 16 (there is probably a temporary fault). Source 8 initially failed to open, but eventually I was able to open it. - this is temporarily stored at here.

According to Google translate, "ghati" is a Hindi word meaning "valley". Is it also a Kashmiri word?-- Toddy1 (talk) 16:53, 30 June 2020 (UTC)

Toddy1 The source 16 is Indian government website. There is Chinta and Jai valley mentioned. The 16th reference valley is not capital because it refers to two valleys actually. In conclusion, there is Jai Valley in maximum sources. Valley starts from capital alphabet. And yes "Ghati" is a Hindi word. But it is not Kashmiri word. In Kashmiri language Valley means Wadi(وادی) which is also a urdu word too.— The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️) 17:11, 30 June 2020 (UTC)

Your user page

Hello TheChunky. I noticed that on your user page, you include a {{tick}} next to "new page reviewer", but it does not appear that your account has new page reviewer permissions. I just wanted to let you know that I think this may be an error. Thanks, Mz7 (talk) 21:19, 6 July 2020 (UTC)

@TheChunky: If you want to be a new page reviewer, you have to apply for permission. See Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Reviewers. The application form is on this link.
  • I strongly advise not stating that you are a new page reviewer, until you get this permission.
  • I do not think editors are allowed to accept articles for creation without that permission. So edits like this are not a good idea.
  • If you want to know what permissions people have, try this tool: User rights: TheChunky, User rights: Mz7.

This make your signature at last of the message and will help other users to reply you easily. Also when you are discussing anything like in this discussion you had asked about Erik Reel but you had not used any clickable link which help others to go to the draft. Shaikhs in South Asia

Hey there, I've noticed that you've taken an interest in the Shaikhs in South Asia page. I enjoy researching established religions, but I can't really find quality sources for this page. The Origin section has pretty weak sources (they mostly just link into a book without page identifiers). Maybe you can find better sources? Otherwise, I'm thinking about redirecting it. Thank you, Philotimo (talk) 02:34, 19 June 2020 (UTC)

@Philotimo: Wait for days, let me check all the references, I will surely make strong references if available. Besides, the reason of revert is actually vandalism. The IP user was just removing and adding things without any valid references. So I reverted it to "at least valid" references. — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️) 02:39, 19 June 2020 (UTC)
No problem, I'll wait a week (probably more) before circling back to it. My problem was more trying to discern if those anonymous user edits were in good faith or outright vandalism. There is conflicting evidence in my mind about it, but good luck trying to short things out with it. Philotimo (talk) 03:33, 19 June 2020 (UTC)
@TheChunky: I'm curious if you're still planning to mend the Shaikhs in South Asia page? I'll look at ways to merge it otherwise. There's plenty of issues on it. Philotimo (talk) 15:47, 15 July 2020 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Junaid Shah

The article Junaid Shah has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

no indication of WP:notability. Just because someone looks like someone notable is not sufficient to be notable themselves. References read like they are all from the same press release and are not WP:significant coverage of him.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. noq (talk) 23:05, 17 July 2020 (UTC)

Nomination of Junaid Shah for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Junaid Shah is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Junaid Shah until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. noq (talk) 22:42, 18 July 2020 (UTC)

How to place a format bomb on a user talk page by accident

One of your posts on another user's talk page was as follows:

Also using simply text in external is discouraged, you have to add official website etc which will be helpful for the readers. Also using <nowiki> tag alone without any reason is not good at all. — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️) 04:50, 8 July 2020 (UTC)

When you posted it, it worked fine.

But when someone else posted a message with <nowiki></nowiki> in it, their </nowiki> matched up with your earlier <nowiki> and produced a mess.

J&K census data tables

Please look at the language data census tables I added to

They are all the same format. I used a cut-off of 0.01% (rounded) - i.e. if the number of people whose mother tongue was less than would be rounded to 0.01% of the district, that language is included in "others" rather than mentioned separately. Spellings/classifications are as in the census output. The reason for the "mother tongue code" is two-fold:

  • The first three digits of the code are the language family (e.g. 006 = Hindi-family of languages).
  • It makes it explicit what is meant.

The plan is to do all 22 districts and 3 divisions in Indian J&K.-- Toddy1 (talk) 20:06, 19 July 2020 (UTC)

@Toddy1: Good job. You are best and helpful as always. I would love to support the plan for all districts. But let me clear Commons mess. It make me headache. If you were not there. I maybe blocked from there without any reason in general. I have explained all things there except two files which needs OTRS procedure for permission. I am understanding what it is actually. I will also add the table to the districts which lacks it. Best — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️) 04:38, 20 July 2020 (UTC)

@Toddy1: There is one language which you added two time and which refers to same actually. The language Gojri is written as Gojri, Gujari or Gujjari . You have added it in table of each location above like in Kathua district the 006207 and 053005 refers to same language. But have separated it. Check it. — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️) 06:50, 20 July 2020 (UTC)

I understand now.
  • The reason for writing "Gojri/Gujjari/Gujar" is that is exactly what the source document says.
  • 053005 is "Gujari", which the census says is related to the Khandeshi language, hence the code start "053".
    • I had not realised that the link is to the same article as for Gojri/Gujjari/Gujar.
Wikipedia is based on reliable sources - since the source splits these, I would prefer for the table to do the same.-- Toddy1 (talk) 07:14, 20 July 2020 (UTC)
@Toddy1: As you said ""Gojri/Gujjari/Gujar" is classified as related to the Hindi language" but my studies says related to the Khandeshi language. There maybe only single reference which claims relationship to Hindi but I am Hindi knowing and also Gojri knowing. Even I speak both of them. There is too much difference between both. My opinion is to make them single as it might be confusing for readers. — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️) 07:21, 20 July 2020 (UTC)
I have raised this issue at Talk:Gujari language.-- Toddy1 (talk) 07:29, 20 July 2020 (UTC)
Please could you contribute there - I suspect that you are right that I need to merge the entries - but let us try and get some consensus - and maybe some reliable sources. I will carry on doing the tables the way I am (because the Excel processing is already set up). I will also try to figure out a sensible way of explaining merging two language codes.-- Toddy1 (talk) 07:41, 20 July 2020 (UTC)

@Toddy1: I will also try to find some Reliable sources for topic on merging both. I am not a PC user generally. So I would likely to contribute in making tables. But I will look over them for errors and other fixes which I can do from mobile. — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️) 07:49, 20 July 2020 (UTC)

Hey @Toddy1:, help me understanding this. I was fan of a actor whose article I created but after his death. I used to visit his instagram profile. One of the pic is File: Junaid Shah.jpg and I have added a source link to his instagram profile photo in this. A user had added copyright violation tag on it saying it falls under COM:NETCOPYVIO at commons but I don't think it falls under it. Kindly help me to sort out the matter till then I address the other things at Deletion request of my all files. I am so confused which to address first.— The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️) 13:34, 19 July 2020 (UTC)

You cannot just copy images from other websites unless those websites explicitly state that they can be used either free of copyright or under a compatible license such as a Creative Commons license. Someone else will own the copyright to that image. noq (talk) 14:55, 19 July 2020 (UTC)
edit conflict
Did you take this photograph yourself?
  • If yes, then provide evidence that you took it yourself. It is not a copyright violation (providing you have not sold the copyright to someone else).
  • If no. Then you do not own the copyright. Unless you can provide evidence of a licence (as with The Chenab Times), then it is a copyright violation.
Does that help?
As a general rule, if you are uploading photographs that you took yourself, you need to make it clear that you took the photograph.
  • Upload a version that has the Exif metadata from the camera.
  • Upload a different photo than has been published elsewhere.
  • You might want to consider uploading on to Wikipedia, and not Commons. That way you can upload under a different licence.
-- Toddy1 (talk) 15:07, 19 July 2020 (UTC)
By the way, it is not very likely that Junaid Shah was the author of the photograph (File: Junaid Shah.jpg). The author is the person who took the photograph.-- Toddy1 (talk) 15:10, 19 July 2020 (UTC)

@Toddy1: Well, Sorry for taking time to address all the issues. But I am already stressed. Now the point is my uploads. In beginning months when I was learning commons, I have uploaded photos without providing proper license. Also most of my uploads are from The Chenab Times, because my topic of interest is Chenab Valley and there is project on Chenab Times which I already shared. That project allows everyone to reuse the photos right by downloading from that website and give them properly credits and I did the same. Remain I have also uploaded one audio file Pheran.ogg which is created by me in a long procedure by recording it as MP3 then I converted it to ogg online because I don't have any other options here. But another nominated all my files for deletion. Another one, File:Junaid Shah.jpg was a photo which was commonly used by everyone, no one knows its copyright owner because it was not upload as a copyright work. Well, we should agree the norms of wiki. So as per norms now I believe it should be deleted. I have less experience in Commons as I always used to edit on Wikipedia. Remain the Huffington Post and Al-Jazeera Photograph, as one editors told me on Junaid Shah's pic that Hands of Junaid are visible so it doesn't holds the copyright of his own pic. Well, File:Masrat Zahra.jpg and File:Sagrika Kissu Green.jpg both have visible hands and the Al-Jazeera and Huffington Post have credited the ladies in the pics as those were taken from their twitter profile.

At the final conflict remaining is about the above two Al-Jazeera and Huffington Post files. So these both don't own it, they have credited the on-pic ladies as pic owner. So I also did the same. If I again need to provide license for these two then tell me, whether I have to find contact of these two ladies or connect them through social media etc to ask the permission or something else. — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️) 19:25, 19 July 2020 (UTC)

You need to contact them to get permission. They need to email OTRS - I do not know the details of this.-- Toddy1 (talk) 19:31, 19 July 2020 (UTC)

Thank You @Toddy1:. @Noq: Can you help me to understand the OTRS? How they have to do mail or if they permitted me online on social media or phone or in some other way. Can I mail through the OTRS. Please help. Thanks. — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️)`

Aripal Tehsil

Please could you do a sanity check on the article on Aripal Tehsil. I only created it because some well-meaning IP editor had seen that it was a red link on Pulwama district and deleted the item from the list of tehsils in the district. It occurred to me that if there were an article on Aripal Tehsil such an error was less likely to occur again.-- Toddy1 (talk) 06:00, 22 July 2020 (UTC)

Ways to improve Guwahati Central Jail

Hello, TheChunky,

Thank you for creating Guwahati Central Jail.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Thanks for creating this page. It would be helpful to add a few more sources to demonstrate notability. There seems to be a lot of news coverage about this jail but the only notability-supporting source in the article at present is the Guwahati Plus reference; Wikimapia isn't a reliable source and Assam Prisons Headquarter is just a directory listing.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Spicy}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Spicy (talk) 13:12, 1 August 2020 (UTC)

Hi @Spicy:, as you suggested improvements. I have added some reliable sources and information which completed the notability criteria. So I removed the Source exist tag. Anything else now? Thank You. — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️) 03:24, 2 August 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for your review notes at draft page

Hi TheChunky! I would like to thank you for your review notes added to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Uploadcare draft page you have reviewed a month ago questioning me for notability, so the Russian-speaking sources' notability I've used were explained at the draft article page as well. Please see below as well:

  • Inc Russia (chapter of the international independent business media)
  • If24.ru (it's Investment Foresight media in Russian, independent media with editor's interview describes the venture-backed startup story as well, the media has got around half million visits a month)
  • VC.ru (we may call it Techcrunch of Russia, it's editor's article describes the venture-backed startup story)

It would be great to review the addition stressing out that books and journals meeting notability requirements (or not if you don't find the explanations satisfying).

Many thanks. Victor Yanin 08:02, 7 August 2020 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vit-ali-yan (talkcontribs)

Basant Rath moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Basant Rath, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. John from Idegon (talk) 00:11, 13 September 2020 (UTC)

I removed the negative BLP and controversies. They had undue weight and inadequate sourcing. Please wait for an independent AfC reviewer to examine this BLP closely.03:13, 13 September 2020 (UTC) --Deepfriedokra (talk)

Deepfriedokra I added all the controversy section from independent sources. As he became viral due to these controversies which was covered by number of independent media. I didn't endorse negative or positive. I write what it happens actually from the independent source. There is no objection source against it. — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️)

Nothing in the draft suggests that they pass WP:GNG if submitted it will be rejected. Theroadislong (talk) 17:13, 13 September 2020 (UTC)
Given your lack of understanding of negative WP:BLP, you used inadequately sourced content to heap criticism on someone-- in Wikipedia's voice. I don't think you should be accepting BLP's at AfC. (@Theroadislong: in case they want to add more) WIth the backlog at AfC, I don't think you should be accepting articles you create. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 17:57, 13 September 2020 (UTC)
I am not trying to be insulting, TheChunky, but from your posts here, and the content at the draft, it appears your command of English isn't very good. This is an English language document. A command of English at the college level is expected of our editors. There are many other-language Wikipedias. Perhaps your time would be spent editing in a language you can write well in. John from Idegon (talk) 05:15, 14 September 2020 (UTC)

John from Idegon well, your point is good that a person who knows good english can edit en.wiki . But let me tell you, I have created many articles till now and the Draft:Basant Rath had information which was removed by the above admin, as he claims it was negative BLP. So let me clarify, I am not enemy or hater of that person. I am his fan. Even I didn't got any chance to talk to him. The things I mentioned in the article was from independent sources. It is same person. You can check his official twitter. He always remained in controversies. So I added same. He was suspended, transferred for these controversies and I added same.

Remaining the thing about my english. I started this article about a month ago. I completed it at my level. So I moved it to mainspace. So that grammar or other remaining mistakes will be fixed by other editors. I am not much active these days due to some personal reasons. Today I was reading something on wiki and I got the notification, so I came here for explaining you all. I am still busy for a month. — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️)

  • Wow...your idea of collaberation is you create a mess and someone else cleans it up? What an incredibly selfish attitude. Sorry, competence is required and my 8 year old son has better English skills than you. It's time you grow up enough to realize that Wikipedia is here to help people, not so YOU CAN GET HELP WITH YOU MISERABLE ENGLISH SKILLS FOR FREE. Nothing about Wikipedia is about you, you selfish jerk. It's about our readers. How's about I come over to your house and practice my non existent skills at open cranium brain surgery on you? Do you think that would be helpful? Neither are your non existent skills at English. When I was growing up, I was taught not to do things that make more work for other people. Apparently, that isn't part of your particular moral structure, or lack of it. However it does apply here. You do not have the competence to contribute to a formal English document at a college English level. So go to a language wiki for a language you are competent in, or take enough English language courses until your competency increases. We are not an English tutoring service. John from Idegon (talk) 15:30, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
John from Idegon Wikipedia is created by volunteers. I don't claim Wikipedia as my own property.— The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️)
So I guess we can add English Comprehension to the things you lack competence at too.  I didn't mention WP:OWN at all. This is a collaborative project. If you lack competence to communicate effectively in this website's ONLY language,  what contribution do you think you can make? Content decisions are based on consensus,  and in order to form one, you have to have at least a similar level of competence in the language we use here for communication. It's frankly extreamly self-centered and arrogant of you. John from Idegon (talk) 19:26, 20 September 2020 (UTC)

No sir, I am not talking you with arrogance. Sorry if you feel bad due to my words. I am too much busy these days. So I am not visiting any website regularly. I just replied some questions above simply. Hope you understand what I want to convey in my replies above. See you soon. Thanks — The Chunky urf Al Kashmiri (Speak🗣️ or Write✍️)
