Editing others' comments

Please be careful when editing others' comments. Even something small like indentation can carry meaning. Namely here, you changed my comment so that it appeared to be a reply to Asartea, when in fact it was a direct response to the original nomination (as you would expect of an admin's response at an admin-request board like PERM). – Joe (talk) 16:52, 30 May 2021 (UTC)

flexible electronics

Hi, my submission was reverted.

Please have a look on the opening paragraph on "flexible electronics". It is non focused, very esoteric and seems to be a promotion of some scientific articles. As for me, after working in the electronic industry since 2002, it seems not only weird, but also misleading. And it fails to help the reader understand what is a flex circuit is. In addition, previous paragraph also has errors.

Yes, I might have messed the font size but was planning to fix, but to revert into the original content and advertise some scholar papers of one group seems bad to me.

@SunnyG81: I reverted your edit because your new paragraph was actually a section header.🪐Kepler-1229b | talk | contribs🪐 15:13, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for the explanation, I'll try again, hope to get the formatting right this time.
P.S. Honestly there the title should be flex circuit / flexible circuit / flexible circuit board. "Flexible electronics" doesn't sound right at all. I can't seem to be able to fix it, can you help?

Speedy deletion nomination of Solar eclipse of June 16, 2178

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Solar eclipse of June 16, 2178 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://spectrumtelescope.com/category/future-events/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Onel5969 TT me 16:07, 2 July 2021 (UTC)

Candidate 1 in exoplanets discovery list?

I found you have added Candidate 1 to the List of exoplanets discovered in 2021.

In my opinion, while the page Candidate 1 is valid, the entry should be removed from list of exoplanet discoveries. Reasons are following:

1)The "planet" looks like artifact - fuzzy and elongated, with size similar to nearby clumps

2)It is located where the artifact is likely to be spotted (i.e. on the edge of artifact exlusion zone).

3)No confirmation for 9 months despite of high-profile journal publication

Trurle (talk) 22:55, 6 October 2021 (UTC)

Still, it hasn't been disproven. 🪐Kepler-1229b | talk | contribs🪐 23:33, 6 October 2021 (UTC)

I.m.h.o., Candidate 1 would be neither disproven nor confirmed forever (or for several tens of years at least). Disproving poorly defined claims is technically diffucult. In case of Candidate 1, not detecting one-time observed object in consequent epoch proving nothing - it can be either not existent or just hide behind PSF of star. This is a reason good-quality papers publish imaging discoveries based on at least two epochs (and better three) of data. Furthermore, radial velocity method also can be used only for confirmation (not for disproving) of imaging detection because of unknown orbital inclination.Trurle (talk) 23:56, 6 October 2021 (UTC)

Beta Cancri b moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Beta Cancri b, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Ways to improve SDSS J143317.78+101123.3

Hello, Kepler-1229b,

Thank you for creating SDSS J143317.78+101123.3.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Tagged to death, I'm afraid. This object *might* be notable (I found two papers specifically about this object, and several more that mention it), but as it stands the article is on the verge of being deleted. Having the wrong title and being an orphan definitely don't help.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Lithopsian}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Proposed deletion of Solar eclipse of April 23, 2191

Question about a template you created on Simple English Wikipedia

Hello, Kepler-1229b. I am writing to you from Earth, so I hope this message gets to you without too much delay. :)

In February 2021, you created simple:Template:Infobox biseptquadium. It is used only on your page simple:User:Kepler-1229b/Bsq. Does this template need to remain in template space? I came across it while checking templates that are not connected in Wikidata. If you want it kept, no problem, but I thought I'd check.

Thanks. I'd appreciate a ping with any reply. -- Auntof6 (talk) 04:54, 26 January 2023 (UTC)

I just noticed another one, simple:Template:Infobox biunnilium, which is also used only on one of your user pages. Please also let me know if you'd like this one kept. Thanks again. -- Auntof6 (talk) 04:56, 26 January 2023 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Izno (talk) 07:35, 1 June 2023 (UTC)

Template:Infobox Cyrillic letter

This reversion doesn't make sense to me - we shouldn't be inaccurate simply because it means a letter is listed twice. Why is it a problem, when the two lists refer to things that might sometimes overlap? Theknightwho (talk) 23:40, 18 July 2023 (UTC)

It's redundant. Since it is used in another language, we list letters in their most recent usage. 🪐Kepler-1229b | talk | contribs🪐 00:55, 19 July 2023 (UTC)
It's not redundant:
  1. The usage in Selkup and Russian is entirely coincidental because they developed at different times for totally unrelated reasons.
  2. Only listing it as a non-Slavic letter is factually incorrect.
  3. It's not at all clear why "most recent usage" should take priority anyway.
  4. We should not be prioritising a desire for a neat layout over factual accuracy.
Theknightwho (talk) 06:19, 19 July 2023 (UTC)
That's true. I didn't make these guidelines.
The standard is if you have a letter with 2 visualy different forms, you list them separately.
But if the letter has 1 form and multiple different usages, the standard is that we list the most recent usage.
The above is only the standard. 🪐Kepler-1229b | talk | contribs🪐 18:15, 19 July 2023 (UTC)
Realistically, are there any other instances where this situation applies? The vast majority of non-Slavic languages that use(d) Cyrillic do so due to Russian influence, and the new letters invented for their alphabets were generally modifications of Russian (and occasionally Latin) letters. I can’t think of any instances where Cyrillic letters that had become obsolete in Russia were revived for use in a non-Slavic language, and the vast majority of these orthographies were invented after the 1918 spelling reform in the USSR.
The case of я̈ is an oddball, because as a Slavic letter it was only ever used in Russian (and very rarely at that), and after the reform every other letter using a diacritic was either still in use (ё, й), or its base letter fell out of use entirely like ѣ̈. Theknightwho (talk) 13:56, 20 July 2023 (UTC)
That's true. I'm not really sure about any other examples. 🪐Kepler-1229b | talk | contribs🪐 16:17, 20 July 2023 (UTC)

I fail to see why you would make an article with a single citation, which leads to a 404 error. I think we would be better off with the redirect. Chris Troutman (talk) 21:41, 4 October 2023 (UTC)
