Copying/translating within Wikipedia requires attribution
editHi. I see in Draft:Sennur Sezer you included material translated from the Turkish Wikipedia. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. It's also required under the terms of the license. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. Please make sure that you follow this licensing requirement when copying from compatibly-licensed material in the future. Please let me know if you have any questions. — Diannaa (talk) 19:41, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks, I didn't know how I had to do that. So I just have to state the attribution in the first edit summary? Gazozlu (talk) 20:05, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
- The edit summary where you add the content is best, but if you forget, you can do it in a subsequent edit summary. — Diannaa (talk) 20:50, 11 September 2022 (UTC)

September 2022
editHi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Şairler Sofası. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Hey man im josh (talk) 00:30, 14 September 2022 (UTC)

editHi there, Gazozlu, and thank you for all your biographies of Turkish people and recently those about women. If you intend to continue writing about women, you might find it helpful to become a member of WikiProject Women in Red where we may be able to help you along. In the meantime, I think you would find it useful to look through our Ten Simple Rules. Please let me know if you need any assistance. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 09:39, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
- I see you've been adding the WIR project banner to your biographies of women but you have not yet joined the project. You can do so by registering in the box at the top of the main WIR page. You'll see from my recent edits that I've been adding DEFAULTSORT to your articles. You can add the feature from the editing prompts at the bottom of the page in edit, and normally put the family name first. It's quite important as otherwise the article is incorrectly listed in categories, etc. Let me know if you have any difficulties with this. And thanks for adding appropriate info on your translations.--Ipigott (talk) 13:52, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
- Welcome to Women in Red! I've just noticed Gazozlu that you followed up on my suggestion and have become a member. Please let me know if ever you need assistance.--Ipigott (talk) 06:57, 12 October 2022 (UTC)

editThe article Ali Seçkiner Alıcı has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Speedy deletion nomination of Selim Gökdemir
editHello Gazozlu,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Selim Gökdemir for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Amou Haji in 2018.webp
editA tag has been placed on File:Amou Haji in 2018.webp requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file from a commercial source (e.g. Associated Press, Getty Images), where the file itself is not the subject of sourced commentary. If you can explain why the file can be used under the non-free content guidelines, please add the appropriate non-free use tag and rationale.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Uşak Atatürk Monument. - Any idea what words should follow
- ... doctor, to make a sculpture for ...
- Perhaps someone's name? Shenme (talk) 03:34, 6 December 2022 (UTC)
- A part appears to have gotten reduced during copy editing. The sculpture was made to stand in the garden of the doctor (Kemal Özkan)s circumcision palace in Levent. So it's not just the garden of any building, but it's the garden of the doctors building, the sculpture is a monument of the doctor himself. Gazozlu (talk) 10:07, 6 December 2022 (UTC)
