Speedy deletion nomination of Department of Infrastructure and Industrial Development (Uttar Pradesh)
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Department of Infrastructure and Industrial Development (Uttar Pradesh) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://udyogbandhu.com/Topics.aspx?mid=About%20IIDD. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. -★- PlyrStar93. →Message me. 🖉← 03:52, 21 August 2017 (UTC)

Ways to improve Rajiv Gauba
Hi, I'm Boleyn. SshibumXZ, thanks for creating Rajiv Gauba!
I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. PLease add categories.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.
Improve GK
- I think you are very poor in GK,
You believe that Mr,Rajiv Gauba is present Home secretary,And believe that Mr.Rajiv Mehrishi is not present CAG of India, Than definitely problem with your mind, Because as per my knowledge there is only one can set on the post of home secretary, two person can not serve for one post. Kartik Patel (talk) 17:44, 5 September 2017 (UTC)
- @Kartik Patel:. Thank you for your concerns. But I am afraid your concerns are greatly unfounded.
- I have never said, or even implied that the Office of Home Secretary of India is being occupied two different individuals.
- Rajiv Gauba indeed is the incumbent Union Home Secretary.
- And like wise, Rajiv Mehrishi, currently, isn't the CAG of India.
- There's no correlation between the two. Rajiv Mehrishi, at this point of time holds no office. He superannuated from IAS on 30 August 2017. Though he's likely to become the CAG of India, when the incumbent, Shashi Kant Sharma demits office on 24 September 2017 i.e. when he attains the age of 65. But as of today, Rajiv Mehrishi is not holding any office, constitutional or otherwise.
- CAG is a constitutional office, one can't be removed from the office, unless, of course, one is impeached by the Parliament of India.
- @Kartik Patel:. Thank you for your concerns. But I am afraid your concerns are greatly unfounded.
I hope this clears your doubts, and, by the by, I believe that my General Knowledge about these particular subjects is sufficient.

Thank you for your details but I have read this article regard appoint of Rajiv mehrishi to CAG of India,so I put it on wikipedia. Kartik Patel (talk) 06:51, 7 September 2017 (UTC)

Ways to improve Sunil Arora
Hi, I'm Domdeparis. SshibumXZ, thanks for creating Sunil Arora!
I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. The subject requires more sources to prove notability. he is an appointed civil servent and the sources are almost exclusively routine announcements of his appointment.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.
Domdeparis (talk) 15:12, 7 September 2017 (UTC)
- @Domdeparis:. First of all, thank you for reviewing Sunil Arora. Secondly, I would say that the subject is notable, as he's occupying a Constitutional Office. Be that as it may, I have added a few more secondary sources, so, can you check and tell, if the article now clears the bar?
Regards, SshibumXZ (Talk) (Contributions) 22:21, 7 September 2017 (UTC).
- Hi just occupying a constitutional office does not make him automatically notable. Notability is not inherent or inherited. Even elected politicians have to meet WP:GNG. I may be mistaken of course so if you have a guideline or policy that supports automatic notability for those occupying constitutional offices I would be very interested. i'll have a look at those other sources and see if the notability tag can come off now. Domdeparis (talk) 09:02, 8 September 2017 (UTC)
- I had a look and the sources are really what is needed especially the Indiatoday one. Domdeparis (talk) 09:11, 8 September 2017 (UTC)
- @Domdeparis:. Thank you for explaining the General Notability Guidelines of Wikipedia, I would be sure to add secondary sources like the India Today one in the articles I create henceforth.

Rollback granted
Hi SshibumXZ. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Malinaccier (talk) 19:11, 16 September 2017 (UTC)
Replaceable fair use File:RajiveKumarIASChiefSecy.png
Thanks for uploading File:RajiveKumarIASChiefSecy.png. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Train2104 (t • c) 02:32, 6 October 2017 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:IAS (Central Association) logo.jpeg
Thanks for uploading File:IAS (Central Association) logo.jpeg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:19, 3 January 2018 (UTC)
Re: Sanjay Mitra
I have updated the Defence Secretary to describe him as a civil servant rather than politician, after reconsidering the content. Defence Secretary is often a political position in many nations, so the IAS aspect was missed. When multiple articles with the same name are involved, the article names should be "disambiguated" unless there is clearly a primary topic, and there could be potentially other articles about persons named Sanjay Mitra. WP:PRIMARYTOPIC has further background about this. Dl2000 (talk) 05:32, 10 January 2018 (UTC)
- @Dl2000: Thank you! Also, I went through WP:PRIMARYTOPIC (just glanced through, haven't read it thoroughly), and indeed I was wrong. Also, thank you for making the world a better place by using `use dmy dates` template on articles! :P

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Indian Administrative Service, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Gaya (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Vikash Maharaj
The Vikash Maharaj article seems to have some issues, and I'd urge a little caution in linking to it at the moment, which is partly why I undid your edit of Uttar Pradesh (in addition to the "best known artists" test). Batternut (talk) 17:30, 28 January 2018 (UTC)

Hi SshibumXZ, I've largely completed the copy edit of the article. Please have a read over of it and see if the text matches up with the sourcing appropriately. Although I've generally checked the source, I'm sure I've missed a thing here or there. Let me know if it needs any fine tuning. Cheers. Blackmane (talk) 13:17, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
- @Blackmane: from the looks of it, the article has improved vastly. I would do a deeper check later, but for now, I can’t find anything missing/wrong with the article.
- Thanks for the thorough c/e, I think now it can pass the GA review, whatcha reckon? Thanks again for accepting my c/e request.
Regards, SshibumXZ (Talk) (Contributions). 13:30, 30 January 2018 (UTC)- Worth giving it a shot, always best to get an extra couple sets of eyes on an article to see what else can be done to improve it. I'll remove the GOCE tag and mark it as done at the Requests page. Cheers. Blackmane (talk) 13:59, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
Reliable sources
Tx for input. So basically, you are telling my that a national register of commerce and the Financial Times are considered as NON reliable by the Wikipedia community. Kindly clarify. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Al ashton (talk • contribs) 16:24, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
- @Al ashton: Hi. Financial Times is a reliable source, but as per WP: RS, only passing mentions don't contribute to notability. As far as National Register of Commerce is WP: Primary Source and has to be backed up by a reliable secondary source. For further info read; WP: Citing sources. I know you may find all this a bit complicated, and maybe even absurd, I too experienced all this when I started (as you may be able to guess by looking through this talk page), but trust me, you'd get used to it. If you have any other issues, I would be more than happy to help.

Hi, the article you declined has multiple references from industry analysts, industry publications, and publicly-traded companies. Why was it declined for lack of reliable references? Wikisubmitter (talk) 19:26, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
Wikisubmitter (talk) 19:26, 31 January 2018 (UTC)
- @Wikisubmitter: first of all, sorry for the delayed response, my internet isn't too good at the moment. Secondly, as far as your draft goes, barring the lack of reliable sources, it's impressively well built for a first timer, so I'd like you to read up on WP: Reliable Sources, that should give you a fair idea. Once you add two-three reliable sources to your draft, it'd be ready to be published, all the best! Again, sorry for the delay in response.

- Hello, @ArtofSuiting: notability isn’t inherent on Wikipedia, for any article you create, adequate sources have to be provided to back up your claims. These sources have to be reliable and secondary, and passing mentions in a reliable sources won’t do. I encourage you to read up on WP:RS. I know this may seem a bit complicated right now, but once you get the hang of it, it actually can be fun. All the best!

Identity Management
This should not be read as insulting or diffamatory. Just making a point about self-complacency. You provide 2 generic high-level references that do not clarify the question about source validity (e.g. "do not combine material from multiple sources" whereas you recommend to duplicate sources"). In a nutshell, same old story whenever, new material needs to be created; those who suffered beforehand do everything possible to have other enjoying the same feeling. Not the principle behind Wikipedia's creation. In law, we call it the spirit and the letter. Kindly validate my contribution since you appeared being the editor-in-chief. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Al ashton (talk • contribs) 13:14, 15 February 2018 (UTC)
- Hi @Al ashton: from what I can infer, you seem to be insinuating that I am too much on the side of policies and hence can't understand the spirit of Wikipedia. That may very well be the case, but, in my opinion, Wikipedia policies, in general, should be respected. Also, as for me being the editor-in-chief of Wikipedia, that is not the case, everyone, at least in theory, is equal on Wikipedia. As for the article, Identity management, I had a look at it, and, barring the lack of additional sources, it looks fine, any particular thing you want me to look at? Again, I would be more than happy to help you out with any problem(s) you may have.
- By the way, it's hard to take something as not being defamatory, when its motive is to be defamatory. Just a thought.

00:18:02, 15 February 2018 review of submission by Wikisubmitter
Hi @SshibumXZ, thanks for your feedback. I added a link to a Wall Street Journal article, which I believe Wikipedia considers to be a reliable source. Also, I should note that Gartner and Forrester, both previously referenced, are perhaps the two most respected analyst firms in this information technology space. Does this suffice to re-review and approve the draft for publication?
Wikisubmitter (talk) 00:18, 15 February 2018 (UTC)
- Hi @Wikisubmitter: yes, Wall Street Journal is considered to be a reliable source, and, as the article already had references from Gartner and Forrester, I think that it may pass both WP: GNG and WP: Company. Still though, I would advice you to try to make further improvements to the article before you resubmit it for review, these may be general improvements like improvements in tone, style, grammar et al., you may, if you want to, also expand the draft. All in all, the draft is already eligible for resubmission, but it still can do with another round of improvements. All the best!

00:12:09, 16 February 2018 review of submission by Dmfennell
Hi! Thanks for reviewing my draft page on the IPSF. If you have any more specific feedback, please let me know. I modeled this page after the pages of other federations on wikipedia which often draw many facts from the webpage of the federation itself. When I asked for help from a previous reviewer, they indicated the topic was noteworthy and sources not a problem, but wanted me to change the tone. Over time, I added in sources that were peer-reviewed about pole sports, more news articles about the IPSF, links to associated federations under their umbrella organization, and more. I have also changed the tone. There are other pole related organizations covered on wikipedia but they are not the one recognized by GAISF. That is one reason why I thought this page was notable and worth having up, not to mention how the IPSF has basically been a major player in the sportifcation of a dance associated with exotic dance clubs. For my day job, I am a social scientist, so I have found other primary sources but those are not appropriate to cite on wikipedia so I have omitted them. However, since I received your feedback, I added in more sources and information. I also added sections back into the page and more links to other wikipedia pages. If you have further feedback, please let me know as I would really like to get this right and move on to other endeavors haha. Thanks! Dmfennell (talk) 00:12, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
Dmfennell (talk) 00:12, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
- Hi @Dmfennell: I had a look at your draft, and now it easily passes WP: General Notability Guidelines, so, you can move on to other articles without worrying about the draft of IPSF.
- I would accept the draft if no other reviewer does so within the next 12 hours or so.

Speedy Deletion of several files
Zak Kuhr Adrian Mayes (American football coach) Kyle Hoke Jules Montinar
I work for the university where the "copyrighted" material came from. I would gladly reword but I do not want to have to re-create the boxes with coaching history... Can you re-instate the old versions so I can fix ASAP.Americanfootballupdater (talk) 22:05, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
- Hello, @Americanfootballupdater: I wasn't the one who deleted your drafts, I just tagged one of them for speedy deletion because of copyright violations, drafts, and other pages on Wikipedia, are deleted by an administrator, in your case: Discospinster, you can raise a request on his talk page for a refund, but bear in mind copyvio content is almost always sent via mail and isn't allowed to be published on Wikipedia before the objectionable content is removed, so, make sure to have an email account linked to your account.
- Also, even though you or any of your affiliates own the copyvio content, there's no way to verify it. See: Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials, and maybe even Wikipedia:Conflict of interest, as you have mentioned that you work for the university that owns the copyvio content. All the best!
Regards, SshibumXZ (Talk) (Contributions). 22:34, 16 February 2018 (UTC)- I appreciate the help. Our coaches are noteworthy and I want to make sure that they receive the appropriate care. For some of them, their bio does not include most of the information I used to construct their coaching history. But I did lean on our SID's bio to write much of the body. How can I fix this issue, I am happy to have others review or edit my drafts...but they do not need deleted. Americanfootballupdater (talk) 23:26, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Americanfootballupdater: for creating drafts, see: Articles for Creation, you can create drafts over there, and when you think that they are ready to be published, you can submit them for review. But, remember that copyvio content isn't allowed anywhere on Wikipedia, so make sure that your drafts are free of any copyright violations. Other than that, drafts aren't usually deleted, so it's quite a safe place for improving prospective articles. All the best!
Regards, SshibumXZ (Talk) (Contributions). 23:34, 16 February 2018 (UTC)- Thank you. I have made a few changes that ought to protect the pages. I am not trying to cause trouble. Thank you. Americanfootballupdater (talk) 23:41, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
- I know that you're not trying to cause any trouble, I have been assuming good faith this whole conversation. Also, I had look at Zak Kuhr, a page you have recreated, and, from the looks of it, the page doesn't have any copyright violation, well done!

I improved the article a little and hope it is sufficient for now, as unfortunately I will not have much time during February. I mainly translated the German article which also could do with a little more information. If it is not going to be deleted I will get back to it as soon as I have more time again. --Pachamama Sonnenkönigin (talk) 20:14, 17 February 2018 (UTC)

Từ hôm nay (Feel Like Ooh)
Hello, first of all, thank you for your copy-edit on the article.
About the "and decided to release the former first" line, the producers (Krazy Park and Eddy S. Park) were only involved in the production of the song. The singer (Chi Pu) and her company were the ones that decided when and how they want to release it. The song's producers had nothing to do with the decision releasing it, especially, with the declaration that the song was "the project's 'warm-up' single." Beyoncetan (talk) 19:48, 17 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Beyoncetan: oh, ok, thanks for clarifying! I have edited the article further to imply that that it was Chi Pu and her company who decided the song's release date. You may recheck the article, and do tell me if any issues still remain to be ironed out.
Regards, SshibumXZ (Talk) (Contributions). 20:04, 17 February 2018 (UTC)
I took a look at Từ hôm nay (Feel Like Ooh) and made some minor changes. I suspect some of these issues were introduced from edits following your copy edit, so please forgive me if I'm telling you stuff you already know. Most of what I noticed were minor MOS issues:
- Added and removed some commas
- Hyphenated some compound modifiers.
- Minor conciseness:
join in the project
→ join the project,In many shots, the singer is often backed
→ In many shots, the singer is backed, and a few cases of also and still. - Two places had a reference on the wrong side of punctuation: throughout the track[8]; → throughout the track;[8] Not a big deal but this can cause line-wrap problems and make it unclear what the reference is supporting.
- Punctuation at quotations. This can take a little getting used to, but Wikipedia's Manual of Style advocates the logical quotation system (MOS:LQ). This means that punctuation goes outside of the quote unless it is part of the actual quote.
- Some of the quotes are actually translations. For example, with
"Chi Pu's vocal is not bad, but it's as flat as a soulless sound created by a computer."
the citation says that the original source is in Vietnamese. I'm uncertain if a different treatment is recommended like a parenthetic (translated) or perhaps it would be better to paraphrase (WP:QUOTE). was part of others who were supportive.
changed part of others → among those. This is from a caption, another place that's easy to overlook.- In the list at the end, there were a couple places with a non-breaking space ( ) next to a regular space, resulting in an unwanted double space.
This stuff is all fairly minor and specific to Wikipdia's style. If you make a habit of looking for it, you'll pick it up fairly quickly, like checking punctuation at references and quotations.
BTW: feel free to join up for the Guild's March copy editing drive (it isn't set up yet, but that redlink will turn blue when it's ready). You don't have to be a member and there are no obligations from signing up.
Hope this helps! – Reidgreg (talk) 19:55, 20 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Reidgreg: although I already knew most of these, I still would like to thank you for explaining me about the community's stance punctuations in quotes, and more importantly, about the non-breaking space.
- As far as joining the guild is concerned, I thought about it, and it doesn't seem to be that bad an idea, the project seems fun and may very well polish my grasp over the language. Again, thank you for your notes on c/e.

significant coverage ???? What are you looking for?
I've illustrated that "Around the corner with john mcgivern" Is seen by millions of people all around the USA per the references I provided.
John Mcgivern is an emmy award winning actor listed on a separate WIKI site.
I listed as references Milwaukee, Chicago, Minneapolis, all around WI and other US states.
Yet, your groups keep sending me the same copy and paste statement significant coverage ???? What are you looking for??
RS9999 (talk) 23:29, 20 February 2018 (UTC)
- @RS9999: hi, basically, the subject should have significant coverage in reliable, secondary sources. What your draft has are primary, self-published sources, so, at this point in time, it can't be published. However, if you
- Read up on WP: Reliable sources, WP: Significant coverage, WP: General notability guidelines, and especially WP:TVSHOW, for more information. All the best!
Regards, SshibumXZ (Talk) (Contributions). 00:41, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
I submitted 4 different WI news papers which have talked about this show; yet you keep saying, self-published sources why? The Milwaukee Journal is not a self-published sources.
So if you say 4 independent newspapers are not worthy plus an independent website then what is? I will send this along to the Milwaukee Journal because they may start to write about what WIKI will and will not publish and the push back I continue to receive.
ie Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Newsroom Staff leading paper in Wisconsin WI https://www.jsonline.com/pages/interactives/mjs-newsroom-staff/
RS9999 (talk) 17:27, 22 February 2018 (UTC)
- @RS9999: hi, yeah, the Milwaukee Journal is not a self-published source, and yes, on second thought the would probably pass WP:GNG and WP:TVSHOW, but as it still is in a state of mess, I would recommend that you make some more improvements before submitting it for publication, however, it's totally up to you. I would not like to interfere any further than what I already have in the publication of the draft. All the best!

GOCE February 2018 news
Guild of Copy Editors February 2018 News
Welcome to the February 2018 GOCE newsletter in which you will find Guild updates since the December edition. We got to a great start for the year, holding the backlog at nine months. 100 requests were submitted in the first 6 weeks of the year and were swiftly handled with an average completion time of 9 days. Coordinator elections: In December, coordinators for the first half of 2018 were elected. Jonesey95 remained as lead coordinator and Corrine, Miniapolis and Tdslk as assistant coordinators. Keira1996 stepped down as assistant coordinator and was replaced by Reidgreg. Thanks to all who participated! End of year reports were prepared for 2016 and 2017, providing a detailed look at the Guild's long-term progress. January drive: We set out to remove April, May, and June 2017 from our backlog and all December 2017 Requests (a total of 275 articles). As with previous years, the January drive was an outstanding success and by the end of the month all but 57 of these articles were cleared. Officially, of the 38 who signed up, 21 editors recorded 259 copy edits (490,256 words). February blitz: This one-week copy-editing blitz ran from 11 through 17 February, focusing on Requests and the last articles tagged in May 2017. At the end of the week there were only 14 pending requests, with none older than 20 days. Of the 11 who signed up, 10 editors completed 35 copy edits (98,538 words). Thank you all again for your participation; we wouldn't be able to achieve what we have without you! Cheers from your GOCE coordinators: Jonesey95, Miniapolis, Corinne, Tdslk, and Reidgreg. Editing News #1—2018
Read this in another language • Subscription list for the English Wikipedia • Subscription list for the multilingual edition
Since the last newsletter, the Editing Team has spent most of their time supporting the 2017 wikitext editor mode, which is available inside the visual editor as a Beta Feature, and improving the visual diff tool. Their work board is available in Phabricator. You can find links to the work finished each week at mw:VisualEditor/Weekly triage meetings. Their current priorities are fixing bugs, supporting the 2017 wikitext editor, and improving the visual diff tool.
Recent changes
- The 2017 wikitext editor is available as a Beta Feature on desktop devices. It has the same toolbar as the visual editor and can use the citoid service and other modern tools. The team have been comparing the performance of different editing environments. They have studied how long it takes to open the page and start typing. The study uses data for more than one million edits during December and January. Some changes have been made to improve the speed of the 2017 wikitext editor and the visual editor. Recently, the 2017 wikitext editor opened fastest for most edits, and the 2010 WikiEditor was fastest for some edits. More information will be posted at mw:Contributors/Projects/Editing performance.
- The visual diff tool was developed for the visual editor. It is now available to all users of the visual editor and the 2017 wikitext editor. When you review your changes, you can toggle between wikitext and visual diffs. You can also enable the new Beta Feature for "Visual diffs". The Beta Feature lets you use the visual diff tool to view other people's edits on page histories and Special:RecentChanges. [1]
- Wikitext syntax highlighting is available as a Beta Feature for both the 2017 wikitext editor and the 2010 wikitext editor. [2]
- The citoid service automatically translates URLs, DOIs, ISBNs, and PubMed id numbers into wikitext citation templates. This tool has been used at the English Wikipedia for a long time. It is very popular and useful to editors, although it can be tricky for admins to set up. Other wikis can have this service, too. Please read the instructions. You can ask the team to help you enable citoid at your wiki.
Let's work together
- The team is planning a presentation about editing tools for an upcoming Wikimedia Foundation metrics and activities meeting.
- Wikibooks, Wikiversity, and other communities may have the visual editor made available by default to contributors. If your community wants this, then please contact Dan Garry.
- The
<references />
block can automatically display long lists of references in columns on wide screens. This makes footnotes easier to read. This has already been enabled at the English Wikipedia. If you want columns for a long list of footnotes on this wiki, you can use either<references />
or the plain (no parameters){{reflist}}
template. If you edit a different wiki, you can request multi-column support for your wiki. [3] - If you aren't reading this in your preferred language, then please help us with translations! Subscribe to the Translators mailing list or contact us directly. We will notify you when the next issue is ready for translation. Thank you!

New page reviewer granted
Hello SshibumXZ. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers
" user group, allowing you to review new pages and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or in some cases, tag them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is a vital function for policing the quality of the encylopedia, if you have not already done so, you must read the new tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the various deletion criteria. If you need more help or wish to discuss the process, please join or start a thread at page reviewer talk.
- URGENT: Please consider helping get the huge backlog down to a manageable number of pages as soon as possible.
- Be nice to new users - they are often not aware of doing anything wrong.
- You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted - be formal and polite in your approach to them too, even if they are not.
- Don't review a page if you are not sure what to do. Just leave it for another reviewer.
- Remember that quality is quintessential to good patrolling. Take your time to patrol each article, there is no rush. Use the message feature and offer basic advice.
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In case of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, the right can be revoked at any time by an administrator. TonyBallioni (talk) 23:30, 6 March 2018 (UTC)
