Grid references

I (and another editor) am getting a '503 Service Unavailable' for grid references on articles such a Surrey Wildlife Trust. Thanks for your work maintaining os and can you advise whether this is a temporary problem? — Dudley Miles (talk) 12:08, 31 May 2019 (UTC)

  • Dudley, links such as this have stopped working. I was warned months ago that wmflabs were going to be shut down. What I want to know is why tools.wmflabs.org/geohack, as used by {{coord}}, on the same server is still hacking away. I find this whole toolforge / wmfalbs rather complicated but I do intend to do something about it this matter soon. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 15:42, 5 June 2019 (UTC)

Thanks. It will be a major problem if grid refs are permanently down as there are tens of thousands of links to them. Dudley Miles (talk) 22:17, 5 June 2019 (UTC)

OS tool thingamabob

Hi - I was looking at List of Category A listed buildings in Moray (I'm gradually working my way through the list, writing articles about buildings that don't have one), and clicked on one of the OS numbers under the 'Grid Ref' column. I got this 503 'Service Unavailable' error - it says you're the maintainer of the tool, so I came here. Is this a temporary glitch, or is the tool no longer operational - in which case, should I remove all the links to it from the list? Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 17:49, 5 July 2019 (UTC)

  • Please do not delete the links. Please do pester me in a fortnight's time if I have not done something. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:19, 5 July 2019 (UTC)

OK, will do - I visit that list quite often, I'll check it periodically to see if it's fixed. Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 07:36, 6 July 2019 (UTC)

Hi RHaworth - I realise it hasn't been a fortnight yet, but thought you might want to know that while the links aren't working yet, the error message has changed - I'm now getting a 404 instead of a 503. Thought that might be helpful, cheers GirthSummit (blether) 09:37, 13 July 2019 (UTC)

It has now been over a fortnight - so a gentle prod to see if you can progress this as lots of OS links are now not operating. Keith D (talk) 21:01, 25 July 2019 (UTC)

Deleted Page

Hello, I would highly appreciate it if you could send me the article that you deleted: Draft: Derek Welsh. Could you also tell me why you deleted it and what I can do to improve the page? Thanks, Derek Welsh Derekwelshmusic(talk) —Preceding undated comment added 20:27, 6 July 2019 (UTC)

  • For deletion reason read this. Also note one editor's comment: "text is self-written vanity page, entirely without WP:RS refs and nothing to suggest he is notable other than as a member of three groups" (two of which do not even have Wikipedia articles). I am willing to let you have your text - read this but I hope that you will kindly have the decency to wait until someone with no CoI writes here that you had near legendary status. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 15:18, 7 July 2019 (UTC)

Restore my page

Hey, I know why you deleted the page I created (Secret (Alli Fitz song)), and I wanted ask if you could restore it. I worked really hard on that page and I really don’t want to redo it. I was really thinking of making a page for the singer of it (Alli Fitz) the next day, so please restore it and give me at least 24h to make a page for Alli. — Cold Alex (talk) 22:09, 6 July 2019 (UTC)

  • Regarding the song, read this. But the obvious answer is: write the article about Alli first! — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 15:18, 7 July 2019 (UTC)

I actually created a page for Alli today, I’ll publish it later. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cold Alex (talkcontribs) 17:43, 7 July 2019 (UTC)

Hey, so I created a page for Alli Fitz, but I realised that I didn't add an email address on this account, so can you restore it yourself please? Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cold Alex (talkcontribs) 19:51, 7 July 2019 (UTC)

Hello, You moved the page to Draft. Is it important to add the birth year If I don't add the birth year will it be deleted again? What must I do next. Please explain in easy words. Help for article Nivedita Singh Chandel. Mow. Please do restore the article page Draft: Nivedita Singh Chandel. — Prabhash987 (talk) 14:33, 9 July 2019 (UTC)

  • I did not move the page. Adding the birth year is not important but you have done it anyway. What you must do now is wait for an independent reviewer to review the page. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 17:47, 10 July 2019 (UTC)

Draft:Leeds Museums & Galleries

The first edit on this draft contains a copyright violation, copying text directly from the first paragraph under "Description" from [1]. Is it possible to revdel the very first diff of a page? If so, could you please revdel that edit? Subsequent diffs do not have the copyvio in them. If not, would you please delete it? I've created a backup copy without the copyright violation at User:Lajmmoore/Leeds Museums & Galleries. -- Hammersoft (talk) 18:39, 9 July 2019 (UTC)

Mr Haworth, how are you?

Hi Mr Haworth, First of all, I don't think you are an old grumpy man. I think you require some consideration when people sending you request or question and that is fair enough. Second of all, I composed an article about Carol Wilder last year and edit it according to feedback of some members but it has not been published yet. I check again today and it has been deleted. Can you please help me point out how it can be improved and send me the text so I can work on it? I think she is notable and her credibility deserves a wikipage.

This is the wikilink to the deleted page ( I don't know how to make the hyperlink appears with letters beside the number "1" in the link. Bear with me): [[2]] Have a great day Mr Haworth, Best, Vanessa. — Preceding unsigned comment added by HelloNYC (talkcontribs) 18:46, 10 July 2019 (UTC)

  • Adding an extra [] does not turn an external link into a wikilink. Try draft:Carol Wilder if you want letters instead of a number. Text emailed. Obvious way of improving: write entirely in your own words. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 01:27, 12 July 2019 (UTC)

Regarding the draft: Jordan Blackmore that you deleted... Could you please provide details as to what you found as unambiguous promotion? I can rewrite it. This is my first article. TÜV_NORD_Middle_East

Dear RHaworth, Good morning! My name is Hope Ihenonyebuobi, an authorized employee with TÜV NORD Middle East. I was trying to create a Wiki Page for TÜV NORD Middle East. However, pages has been deleted for copyright infringement. I would like to inform that I am authorized user and would like to request to have the speedy deletion removed for the page. I would be glad to hear back from you. You can reach me as I have enabled receiving emails from users. Thanks and regards, Hope — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hopetuv56 (talkcontribs)

Return of a draft

Hello RH. I was recently looking over Draft:Abivin for WP:AFC and saw that you deleted a version of the draft via G11 yesterday. Is the current draft more or less the same as the previous version? — SamHolt6 (talk) 17:01, 11 July 2019 (UTC)

I should add that — User:Minhhs if their user page information is anything to go on — the creating editor seems to be here to promote their company. Best. SamHolt6 (talk) 17:08, 11 July 2019 (UTC)

  • I was shocked to see you using external link format. If you do not wish to ping Minhhs use {{no ping}} but I see no reason why you should want to suppress a ping. Yes, previous version is same author, same text. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 01:53, 12 July 2019 (UTC)

Sandbox deletion

Hello! I found a notification about 6 hours ago that the draft I submitted less than 24 hours ago was denied due to copyright infringement. I just logged in now to attempt to fix it and resubmit as the infobox had suggested, but it was gone already. It was truly not my intention to paraphrase badly or copy chunks of text. Is there anyway to get it back and attempt to fix for resubmission? I didn't expect to see action taken so soon as it said it might take 8 weeks to hear back, and unfortunately I didn't have time to review it immediately when I was notified. Thank you for your time. Literalkoala (talk) 04:48, 12 July 2019 (UTC)

  • I can let you have the deleted text - read this. The page in the state I deleted was far too long. You should be writing a simple article that warns people "most of this company's products are useless - don't buy them". But you must say it in encyclopedic language! Since you have plenty of reliable sources to support that statement, it should be perfectly OK. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:19, 12 July 2019 (UTC)

Thank you very much, I enabled the email feature and would so very much like the text back from the deleted User:Literalkoala/sandbox page. Thank you again. Literalkoala (talk) 17:00, 12 July 2019 (UTC)

Thank you very much for all your help. I noticed you don't get very many thanks or kind words here on your page... I applaud you for fighting the good fight here. I hope you have a lovely day! Literalkoala (talk) 03:50, 18 July 2019 (UTC)

Escherichia coli

Dear Reviewer,

Request regarding deletion of page due to copyright infringement.

I am Saurav B. Saha from India. We in our lab have developed a database i.e., User friendly Comprehensive Antibiotic resistance Repository of Escherichia coli (u-CARE) consisting of antibiotic resistance genes in E. coli. The work was published in the Journal of Clinical Pathology (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25935546). The work is of importance to clinicians and researchers for better understanding of the resistance mechanism in E. coli.

Just like other similar databases, I also created a wiki page with user id: SauravSaha.AMR on wiki sandbox and submitted it for review. But the content was deleted on 11 July 2019 (UTC) due to copyright infringement.

Firstly I would like to thank you for taking time out from your busy schedule to review the article. Sorry for being naive but I would like to know whether I can resubmit the article with different restructured words or publishing in a journal will refrain me to write an article about our developed database? Any help will be highly appreciated. Soliciting your kind help. With warm thanks and regards, Saurav — Preceding unsigned comment added by SauravSaha.AMR (talkcontribs) 12:29, 12 July 2019 (UTC)

  • You can submit with non-copyvio words but it would be far better if you would kindly wait until somebody with no CoI thinks your your database is notable and writes about it here. Also a re-submission stands a good chance of being deleted as advertising. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 15:58, 12 July 2019 (UTC)

  • Vintage-vintner, I have the deepest sympathy for your disability but you cannot use it as an excuse for not providing a link. So why was it a problem providing the same link when the article was in a deleted state? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:08, 15 July 2019 (UTC)

Deleted Page - Please Restore

Hello sir, You recently deleted a page I wrote Draft:Vadé stating that it was due to Unambiguous copyright infringement of http://www.gironacappella.cat/index.php/en/component/content/article/28-artistes-en/93-artistes-vade-en?Itemid=408). I created this Wikipedia page back in March of this year and the band asked if my article could also be used to promote one of their international concerts. I gave my full permission for this to be used, hence why it appeared on another website in April/May of this year. There is no copyright issue as I am the original author. Please let me know how this can be rectified. Acappella queen (talk) 21:52, 12 July 2019 (UTC)

  • Johhny, what a lot of sad things:
  • I told you recently "learn to use all the tools that the MediaWiki software provides" but you have learnt nothing. In this case, looking at the edit history would have enabled you to recover the button in a few clicks
  • this edit is tragick: it is bad enough that you have used external link format but your edit forced me to view the article in mobile format even if I was using a desktop machine. If you has used proper wikilink format: ms:draft:A. B. Ibrahim the actual rendered link would be in mobile format or desktop format depending on the device I was using
  • the Malay Wikipedia does not have any draft system.

As a cricket club we have a written history of our past, and this was submitted to the Wikipedia page I was creating. Deleted page Draft:Siobhan Healy

16:29, 15 July 2019 RHaworth talk contribs deleted page Draft:Siobhan Healy (G12: Unambiguous copyright infringement of https://glasgowartclub.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/INSPIRED-PROOF-V5.pdf)

Would it please be possible to send me this draft or restore to my sandbox so that I can remove the offending content.

I did have permission to use the quotes, presumably I have to show that somehow within the page, yet to discover that. But as the quotes are not important the remainder is all original and can stand without them.

From your replies to others, the referenced pdf would need to have {{cc-by-sa-3.0}} included in it? — FrankEAndrews (talk) 04:15, 16 July 2019 (UTC)

There's another problem with this. The text of the PDF is unsigned. At the foot of the left half of the first page of that PDF -- which I imagine corresponds to the rear of an eight-page booklet -- there appear the name and domain name of the artist, and somebody's (presumably her) phone number and email address. All this suggests that this is a printed booklet, written and published by the artist. If this is indeed so, then it may be proper and indeed beneficial to quote a few snippets from it, but using more than snippets would turn the Wikipedia article into a mere PR conduit.
Further, Wikipedia doesn't use what are no more than blurbs. If Alisdair Gray (for example) published a review of Healy's work, that would be usable. If on the other hand he just wrote her an appreciative message, this isn't usable.
Also, awards and the like mustn't be merely on the artist's say-so. Which independent source backs this up? -- Hoary (talk) 08:01, 16 July 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for that feedback, I realise now that it is completely inappropriate to include those quotes. Three of the seven awards were just referenced to the artists website, I will remove those if I cannot find an official reference. — FrankEAndrews (talk) 14:20, 16 July 2019 (UTC)

  • No, ask somewhere else. I find that even I, just an ordinary admin, cannot delete it. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:16, 17 July 2019 (UTC)

? I did provide wikilinks, not external ones, so that lesson is already learned. If you are referring to the MediaWiki:Blockedtext-partial talk page and the "article"-form, I piped the one because that is what Wikipedia nomenclature referred to it as - the Interface page for the (now deleted) talk page. I thought doing it in that fashion seemed polite & to be in your requested form. The other Wikilink was piped but not externally linked but ok...no piping on your page. Got. It.

The only other edits for the editor who created the page & its Interface have been a series of nonsensical-seeming edits to Wikipedia:Advice to T-Mobile IPv6 users so I have/had trouble thinking of this MediaWiki page as being a valid creation. Thanks for trying will ask somewhere else. Shearonink (talk) 21:56, 17 July 2019 (UTC)

  • Shearonink, learn to read the edit history. In this edit you provided no link to the talk page and a piped external link to the MediaWiki page. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:50, 18 July 2019 (UTC)

Page Deletion

Hello,

I recently composed Draft:Morgan and DiSalvo article titled Draft: Morgan and DiSalvo, which you deleted. I was hoping to get some instruction on what I can do differently to get this page approved. I understand I have a COI, however I am hoping to learn what sort of person qualifies as not having such a conflict. Could a direct employee of this company write the page and it would be approved as a means of providing information? I tried to disclose my affiliation with the company to follow Wikipedia's guidelines, while still providing all the information I had available. Without breaking any rules, how can a person with a COI about their topic get an article approved? I am aiming to get this page up as a source of information on the company, and believed I had the sources to properly do so, but it appears I did not. Also, could you please make the draft available to me again so I can continue reworking it? Thanks for your help! Jkoon.mmc (talk) 16:26, 17 July 2019 (UTC)

Draft:History of Oklahoma Sooners football

Hello, I noticed that you deleted the draft of the Draft:History of Oklahoma Sooners football. I am not objecting to it's deletion as it was intended to be a fork of the existing Oklahoma Sooners football page per this discussion a few months ago that eventually went nowhere. So on that grounds I agree. But ironically, a similar discussion for the California Golden Bears football program article just started with similar concerns. For the draft in question I honestly just copied and pasted existing information from Oklahoma Sooners football#History into the article, and hoped that other editors would help improve the draft and cut out superfluous information from the parent article. Obviously that didn't occur.

But in regards to the other issue, I understand that it also had a WP:COPYVIO concern and I was completely aware of any violations with the content (which I didn't put in the parent article in the first place.) What parts of Oklahoma Sooners football#History could be problematic, as it is sourced from a variety of websites? Is the whole section an issue or is it just a few parts that need to be paraphrased. I hope to get the issues changed as to not have an issue with the "parent article" going forward. I am assuming good faith on all sides here.-UCO2009bluejay (talk) 16:15, 18 July 2019 (UTC)

But it was deleted for G11 reason.Kindly tell me what I should do to make sure the page stays. There was lot to write about the book, but kept the basic version simple.. I'm not paid to write for the book, doing it as book is different from other books on success I've read..Nobody has addressed success as an entity except in this book. It's a new take. Please advice. — Techraptor (talk) 17:38, 18 July 2019 (UTC)

  • Spam does not come much worse than that. I suspect that you have a CoI but it matters not. Kindly have the decency to wait until someone who knows how to write a Wikipedia article writes about the book. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:50, 18 July 2019 (UTC)

Kindly Restore my page please

Hello! I had already removed the copied text from the article after a review was being done earlier by someone. This article has been edited again and I don't think it violates any copyrights. I humbly appeal you to Kindly have a look and restore this page. This for our village temple in India for Information and location. Thanks, Vishal 52 (talk) 20:02, 18 July 2019 (UTC)

Kindly restore my user: page

Dear Roger, I discovered this morning that you have deleted by :user page, which has been in existence for many years. It is not there for advertising or aggrandisement, but so that those who wish to access my page might know who I am and my qualifications for writing and making edits. I have written several hundred articles and undertaken 17,833 edits over the past 13 years (I think more than you have, and perhaps for a longer period). It is also my only record of what I have done for Wikipedia in the last two decades. Please reinstate it. Regards, Rif. Rif Winfield (talk) 08:44, 19 July 2019 (UTC)

  • Rif, fake articles don't come much worse than your user page: written in the third person and absolutely no "what I do here" type of text. Indeed at first glance I did not notice that the book titles were in fact wikilinks. I have created an hint of what is needed. Look at other users' pages: good examples Ykraps and Shem1805. Since your given name is unusual you should add "I am male" (if indeed you are!) either as simple text or via {{User:UBX/male}}. Also, it would be informative to say "I live in Ceredigion". Note: fiddling with another editor's user page is deprecated: if you request it, I will delete what I have done. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 17:27, 20 July 2019 (UTC)

As you say, altering another editor's user page is always to be deprecated and is simply unacceptable unless there is a violation of a major Wikipedia regulation. There is nothing "fake" about what was in my user page; everything is verifiable. Yes, I am male and yes, I live in Ceredigion, but these facts have no bearing on my contributions to Wikipedia (which cover a wide range of topics on which I have expertise). — Rif Winfield (talk) 17:45, 20 July 2019 (UTC)

"Fake article" is perhaps misleading but it is the standard term. No one is suggesting that your article contained anything but truth but it was unquestionably a violation of the Wikipedia regulation that user pages must not look and feel like ecyclopedia articles. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 17:55, 20 July 2019 (UTC)

Kim McGuinness

Hi, you've deleted my page: Kim McGuinness which was only created yesterday. Kim McGuinness is a real person holding elected office in the United Kingdom. References were included in the article stub. Here is a news story from yesterday reporting her election: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-49044340 . — Littlemonday (talk) 17:00, 20 July 2019 (UTC)

  • Please learn: always provide a wikilink when you talk about an article, how templates work and that it is article suicide to start developing in mainspace. Restored to Draft:Kim McGuinness. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 17:37, 20 July 2019 (UTC)

How am I meant to provide a link to a page you've deleted? I know you enjoy plain talking, but please forgive me for thinking you're an obnoxious busy body. Why did you delete my page? It was clearly a real person with a referenced link to why the person is notable and is deserving of a wiki article. — Littlemonday (talk) 08:20, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

  • I think any speaker would rule "obnoxious busy body" to be unparliamentary but I shall overlook that and just say that one person's busy bodying is another persons quality control. As to providing a link, if Kim McGuinness is not the link I wanted what is it? Please reply. Follow that link and read what you see there more carefully. Then look at your own contributions history. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:44, 22 July 2019 (UTC)
  • I see now that you did not even read my message above time stamped 17:37, 20 July 2019. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:48, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

We're not in Parliament so I don't need to please any speaker. I will ask you again: Why did you delete the page I created? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Kim_McGuinnessLittlemonday (talk) 12:21, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

  • And I will ask you again: please look at my message above time stamped 17:37, 20 July 2019 and see if you can understand the last, short sentence in it. Or phone me! I hope I come over less obnoxious on the phone than in writing. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:33, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

Your message: "Please learn: always provide a wikilink when you talk about an article, how templates work and that it is article suicide to start developing in mainspace." Doesn't explain why you deleted the article. The page was about a person who'd just been elected. The office they are serving in is well established and documented on wikipedia and I linked to/from her predecessor as well as providing an independent source for her election. I would also politely point out that using the word 'suicide' in a context which doesn't involve the ending of a human life is most defiantly not parliamentary language. [1] [2] Littlemonday (talk) 13:31, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

  • You have already seen the reason. Go to the page which tells you that I did the deletion, ie. the page to which you could not provide a link, and look for "2019-07-19t16:59:30 RHaworth … deleted page Kim McGuinness". What follows those words? Note that A7 is a link - follow it for even more information. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:47, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

Where is the page? I can't find it! Could you just tell me in plain English right here? We're not all as knowledgeable as you! Surly you can see that you're being obstructive rather than helpful at this point? (And before you say it that would be allowed in Parliament!) I want to learn things here, instead I'm just met with your haste, rudeness and arrogance. Littlemonday (talk) 14:36, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

  • And in my obnoxious way, I am trying to teach you things but you do seem to be a slow learner. This discussion thread already contains twice a link to the page which tells you that I did the deletion but here it is again: Kim McGuinness. I repeat: phone me - it might help if I were to talk you through things. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 15:20, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

Forgetting to unspeedy

I restored User:Heeheemalu/List of tallest buildings in Taichung to userspace in response to a WP:REFUND request. Unfortunately it looks like I forgot to remove the speedy deletion template and so you deleted it again. Would you mind undeleting it or giving me the nod to do the same? Apologies. -- kingboyk (talk) 22:08, 21 July 2019 (UTC)

I'm afraid the same appears to have happened at Draft:Dr Surojeet Chatterji :) Lesson learnt - remove the deletion tags after restore. --kingboyk (talk) 22:11, 21 July 2019 (UTC)

It looks from logs like you're not around atm. As WP:REFUND applies I'll go ahead and undelete myself. Please ping me if there's any problem. Thanks. --kingboyk (talk) 22:16, 21 July 2019 (UTC)

Deletion of Pavigym Draft

Hi, My draft of this page was deleted. I'd like to have it restored so I can continue working on it. I'd also like to ask for feedback if possible. The article was deleted citing "unambiguous advertising or promotion". I feel that the article doesn't meet any of the requirements for deletion with reference to the 5 points stated in the Wikipedia guide. I don't see how it cannot be considered a neutral, referenced, article as required. Thanks! Batmansgran (talk) 14:40, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

  • I agree: reasonably well written but that lack of independent references caused it to be considered spam. I can left you have your text - read this but it would be better if you were to wait until someone with no CoI thinks your company is notable and writes about it here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 15:20, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

Deleted Sandbox Code

Good Morning Mr. Haworth, I woke up this morning to see that a page I have been working on was deleted. I was surprised as I thought the sandbox was a place where you could play with making a page and it not be available to the public yet. I had only just last night finished plugging in the information and had not gotten to the editing portion of it so that it was not considered advertising. Would you be able to provide my code so that I can keep working on it? Thank you for your help — Preceding unsigned comment added by Berat1008 (talkcontribs) 06:29, 24 July 2019 (UTC)

  • Berat1008, your edit pattern suggests paid editing very strongly to me. Your draft thoroughly deserved deletion: it was an extension of the company's website rather than an encyclopaedia article. In any case the subject strikes me as inherently non-notable: a company creating an obscure product for a narrow market. I have emailed you the text but do not even think about posting here until de:Natec has been created and survived for two weeks.
On the other hand, an article about Hochland SE stands a good chance of survival because it is creating products that people see on supermarket shelves. Hochland AG was deleted in 2013 because its entire content was:
Hochland AG is a german company that makes dairy products. It was founden in 1927. Category:german companies ro:hochland AG
Special:WhatLinksHere/Hochland AG reports two links from mainspace. The only question is the correct title: what does the SE in the name mean? It does not seem to be a new alternative to AG. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:21, 25 July 2019 (UTC)

Need Help creating a page protected by you

Hi, I'd like to create a page on Swiggy, but you have protected it. Please allow me somehow. Please refer to the discussion at the following talk page/section: User talk:TonyBallioni#Asking for opinion about RfA. Thanks Compfreak7 (talk) 15:40, 24 July 2019 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Compfreak7, what you might want to do is to create a draft of the page you want to create, so that RHaworth can see what you have in mind and better evaluate whether they want to lift the protection or not. You can create a draft at Draft:Swiggy, or in your own user space at User:Compfreak/Sandbox or User:Compfreak/Swiggy. -- MelanieN (talk) 16:09, 24 July 2019 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) You might also want to read WP:NCORP first and consider how you are going to meet its requirments. The sources you mentioned on Tony Balloni's page are mostly not useful for showing notability (one is the company website and two are mere business listings). The only one that looks good is the news item in LiveMint, but that is not enough by itself. — SpinningSpark 16:39, 24 July 2019 (UTC)
Oops - turns out Compfreak7 has been blocked for socking. RHaworth, I don't think you need to bother answering this one. -- MelanieN (talk) 17:16, 24 July 2019 (UTC)

Battle of Parker's Ferry?

Hi, I am Ajack87. I wrote an article called the battle of parker's ferry. However, it got deleted for copyright infringement. Can I rewrite it again using legitimate sources? How can I fix it. User:Ruma Devi, Barmer

Hi! Someone was at the IRC help desk asking for this to be restored. I took a look and, although it's pretty poor-quality at the moment, wasn't entirely certain how it was a U5. Would it be possible to clarify a little how it's a U5, and would you mind if I restore it? Thank you! Enterprisey (talk!) 07:31, 26 July 2019 (UTC)

Several deleted pages on Ethiopian geology

Hello,

I received warnings for copyright infringement (copying of sentences, with sources mentioned however. This concerned several pages like this one: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Edaga_Arbi_Glacials&action=edit&redlink=1 In the "Talk" I mentioned that I was going to rework it within 3 days. Then why to delete those pages? Please leave us some time before undertaking such irremediable actions.

CSD C1

Hello, RHaworth,

You are so prolific with deleting pages that I thought you were familiar with this category of speedy deletion. Empty categories are tagged and sit for 7 days in Category:Empty categories awaiting deletion before they are deleted. They are not deleted immediately.

There are several reasons for this. Sometimes categories are emptied out of process and sometimes an editor creates a category before they have assigned articles to it. So, I've restored Category:B-Nasty albums and Category:B-Nasty album covers. Feel free to delete them after August 1st or when they appear in Category:Candidates for speedy deletion as empty categories. Thank you! Liz Read! Talk! 18:19, 26 July 2019 (UTC)

@Liz: I don't know if I agree. Since B-Nasty was deleted per this AfD, why wouldn't these categories qualify for speedy deletion under G8 as being "dependent on a non-existent or deleted page"? StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 20:15, 26 July 2019 (UTC)
