Helmut Wagner (pilot)

Hello R, a question to your arcticle move moved page Helmut Wagner (Paratrooper) to Helmut Wagner (pilot)[[1]]. The source [2] says he was a Fallschirmjäger (paratrooper), not a pilot. Please note that the German paratroopers in WWII were a part of the Air Force (Luftwaffe), not of the Army. [3] Even if the original author has taged it with Category:German World War II pilots, the source states as his unit FJR6 with stands for Fallschirmjägerregiment 6.--Ben Ben (talk) 15:54, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

Move done, plus added a second reference from Google Books. Sorry for my capitalization, it's still German. --Ben Ben (talk) 20:09, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

Sorry for messing it up. Links fixed and G6 requested.--Ben Ben (talk) 20:52, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

Red links

In general, yes, red links are fine when the subject is likely to have a page created. If this hospital still does not have a page, and its only claim to fame is that a movie filmed there once then that tells me it isn't likely to ever have a page created. This isn't like a red link for an actor that will likely be developed as they acquire more roles. As for the list of hospitals page, I'm not sure what that even exists. Wikipedia is not a directory. That looks like something better served as a category than a page.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 22:19, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

Star Trek: The Next Generation DVD

I noticed that your name is listed as having a page with the above title deleted as of April 8 (less than a month ago), thus causing numerous articles referring to various seasons of the DVD sets to have red links. Is there any way to have the page resurrected? Or if not, why the deletion in the first place? For now, just curious, not an accusation. — Glenn L (talk) 23:51, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

Question regarding speedied article

I noticed that you were one of the administrators who speedied Pricing Partners. If you could take a look at "pricing partners" and determine if it is a re-creation or if the newly named title version is appropriate to un-salt the original title that would be great. proposed deletion

Does a user's proposed deletion of translation convention create a page somewhere & start a deletion process rolling? I did not see a link to any such page. now that you removed the deletion proposal that someone else added, is it not currently "considered/ pondered" for deletion?? I noticed that it was added with twinkle, so, idk. it's nerve racking. I just want to know if my article is gonna live. thx. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Skakkle (talkcontribs) 19:13, 7 May 2012 (UTC)

  • Correct. It is not currently being considered for deletion. But if you don't pull your finger out and provide some references, then I will send it to AfD which does start a discussion. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 19:25, 7 May 2012 (UTC)

Deletion of Beijing Subway colours template

Hi Roger, a few hours ago you deleted the {{BJS color}} template created by the user ContinentalAve. I don't know if you're aware that because you deleted this template, now all the hundreds of pages about the Beijing Subway are broken. Therefore, please undelete this template as soon as possible. I don't know why you deleted it, but the user who created it, ContinentalAve, is a major contributor to whom we owe most of the articles on this topic. After you undelete the template, I volunteer to take a look and fix whatever issues there might be with it. But please act quick, as what you did has left hundreds of pages broken. — Azylber (talk) 16:57, 9 May 2012 (UTC)

  • Oops. Sorry. Partly the creator's fault - equally urgent, please create Template:BJS color/doc to explain what it is for and link to the doc from the template. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:42, 9 May 2012 (UTC)

Done. Take a look! Azylber (talk) 19:14, 9 May 2012 (UTC)

I've now given it the common template doc style. And one more thing, I would prefer you not to insult me. You're the one who used admin rights to recklessly delete a template created by a highly respected contributor, broke hundreds of pages in the process, and then insulted someone who volunteered to pick up the mess.Azylber (talk) 20:33, 9 May 2012 (UTC)

Canis Cadem Edit

Hi. I just wanted to inform you that an user, Rossami has recently restored the page Canis Cadem Edit that you had deleted following a request for speedy deletion from myself. The user justified his/her move by the fact that the page doesn't respect one of the condition of the speedy deletion criteria under which the request had been made (R3). Which is true, since the page can't be considered recent. Nevertheless, I personally believe than the obvious typo in itself was enough to justify a speedy deletion request, despite the fact that there is no criterion matching exactly the reason for deletion. Therefore, I think that restoring this page for that particular reason was inappropriate, and a waste of time. Did I made anything wrong in my speedy deletion request ? Maimai009 17:20, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

  • I don't know whether Rossami is stalking me or is just obsessed generally with enforcing the "recent" bit of R3 - and see this RfD. I delete them; Rossami restores them; I take no further action. In my view there was absolutely nothing wrong with your deletion request. Redirects are not important enough to get into edit wars over so I will take no action. Feel free to raise the matter yourself at RfD but before you do so look at the page view stats - even discounting a flurry at the time you tagged it for deletion, the redirect is being viewed on average three times a day - I wonder where it is linked from. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 17:33, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
    • Interesting behaviour indeed. Anyway, I have submitted a request for deletion a few hours ago. The page is orphan, nothing from the main namespace links to it. It makes me wonder how I get there... Maimai009 18:10, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

Redirects

Can we sort out these redirects? I ask for them to be deleted, you delete them, and Rossami undeletes them. The latest is this one. -- Alan Liefting (talk - contribs) 21:08, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

Perfume Tree page deleted

Hello, please restore the article. I didn't have time to add to it and it was deleted too quickly.Per the notability:

  • 5) Has released two or more albums on a major label or on one of the more important indie labels (i.e. an independent label with a history of more than a few years, and with a roster of performers, many of whom are notable).
  • Their labels were on World Domination Records and Zulu Records http://www.discogs.com/artist/Perfume+Tree. They also have Albums on Amazon and iTunes, if that matters.
  • 10) Has performed music for a work of media that is notable, e.g. a theme for a network television show, performance in a television show or notable film, inclusion on a notable compilation album, etc.
  • They have a song on the sound track to the film Weirdsville #4Uneasy from their album A lifetime Away.

Sorry I didn't have time to include this at first. Sorry if this is not the correct area to address this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Exoir (talkcontribs) 00:43, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

IP request

List of countries by Human Development Index/Former reports/1985 - why unspeedy? I think I explained very well why it should be speedily-deleted: Not only does it include misleading wrong fake data (e.g. fake data intended to show that "East Germany" was more advanced than "West Germany" in 1985) - which one could fix by some effort, but its title is simply impossible, as I explained in my original request. 87.68.81.17 (talk) 21:57, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

  • We don't know it is your original request because it was made by a different IP address! Using an IP address was the main reason I unspeedied it. But also because it is a year old and has had a few different editors. Please log in and take the matter to WP:AfD. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 23:08, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

Log in? Is this one of the conditions for the legitimacy of Delete requests? Do you claim that users identified by IP addresses are not allowed to ask for Delete requests? Do you claim that Wikipedia excommunicates IP addresses? Anyways, the current situation - is, that we have a misleading article, whose data are fake, and whose title is impossible (as I explained in my original request); so, would you like please, to take the matter to WP:AfD - instead of me? I can't do that myself under a user name, because of technical difficulties that prevent me from logging in. 87.68.81.17 (talk) 07:21, 18 May 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.126.189.6 (talk)

  • It is not an explicit condition that AfDs must be raised by logged in users but they will be considered an order of magnitude more legitimate if they are. In assessing a user, one thing we look at is their contributions history and someone who has a different IP address each time they edit clearly has no history to assess. In any case what are these "technical difficulties"? I have never heard of any. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 09:17, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

Deletion of Myrtle Grove Plantation

I'm not yelling at you or anything, I had the page on my watchlist to see if anyone would do anything and I was planning to PROD it later. I almost thought that it was an A7, but I wasn't entirely sure it was an eligible subject for A7. What do you think? It wasn't necessarily a company, a plantation is a little more than that, like a location of sorts. Ryan Vesey Review me! 12:30, 16 May 2012 (UTC)

  • The entire content of the article was: "The Myrtle Grove Plantation is located in tensas parish, louisiana. Supposley situated like the real myrtles plantation located in st farmerville , louisiana." It was simply not worth keeping. I could almost have deleted it as "no context". It is listed in National Register of Historic Places listings in Louisiana with coordinates so until someone actually writes a proper article is better to leave it as a red link than as a sub-stub. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 19:39, 16 May 2012 (UTC)

I agree that it didn't make a claim of significance, but I don't believe A7 should have applied. I started a new article, but I'm actually in the middle of something so all I did was give it the claim of significance. I'll add more later, but you can feel free to slap a bunch of tags on it if you wish. Ryan Vesey Review me! 20:32, 16 May 2012 (UTC)

  • Kindly explain this edit and its edit summary. What reason have you to distrust the coordinates given in National Register of Historic Places listings in Louisiana? Did you actually follow the link? Do you see that the coords point to a grove close to Myrtle Grove Lane and Myrtle Grove Cemetery? Do those coords seem credible to you? And even if not accurate, do you not think they are far better than no coords at all? Incidentally you have a redundant <tt> </tt> in your signature. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:29, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

Those coordinates pointed to the opposite side of the state. That location is nowhere near Waterproof, Louisiana. The redundant code is used to insert a space between the last thing I type and my username because I never remember to do it myself. Ryan Vesey Review me! 12:21, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

In addition, I believe the coordinates given at National Register of Historic Places listings in Louisiana (31°48′47″N 91°22′07″W} are probably the correct ones. They are closest to the coordinates of Waterproof. Ryan Vesey Review me! 12:26, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

  • The coords you put in the infobox were wrong but the ones I had put in were the probably correct ones. Why did you remove mine? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:43, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
I didn't realize that you added coordinates. When I saw the coordinates tag I assumed there was something in the infobox that automatically created a coordinates tag. I should have been more careful when looking at it. Ryan Vesey Review me! 12:49, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

  • Delighted that you have brought the discussion here. I cannot understand why some people insist on trying to use e-mail to discuss Wikipedia matters. As to your article, even before they opened it, the reader was put off by the ridiculous title, which suggested advertising and in any case was utterly arrogant - in case you have not heard there is a school called Haileybury Astana and no doubt other English medium schools in Kazakhstan. The other reason for deletion was the total absence of links to significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. I have restored the article to User:Webhas/Haileybury Almaty. The first thing you must do is to learn about wikilinks (see my change to your prep school link above) - and teach Kryukov (talk · contribs) the same. In fact the article is not seriously spammy, once you have added some independent references it will probably be safe to move it directly to Haileybury Almaty. It would be good if you could add a couple of photographs - they should of course be uploaded to the Commons so that they can be used in the Kazakh and Russian versions of the article - when you get round to writing them. And if you were really keen you could also create a new version of ru:Хэйлибэри Астана - the previous one was deleted because it was not in Russian. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:34, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for this information - much appreciated. Deletion of World Dodgeball Federation

Hello, Could you please state why World Dodgeball Federation was deleted? Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by DodgeballNation (talkcontribs) 12:29, 19 May 2012 (UTC)

  • There never has been an article called World Dodgeball Federation. It is just possible that you are referring to world dodgeball federation, lacking capitals in its title. It was deleted because it contained little assertion of notability, totally lacked external links whether to the Federation's website or to the significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources which we always demand. Furthermore, one doubts whether an organisation less than a year old has yet become notable. Rather than attempting to re-create it, kindly have the decency to wait until someone with no COI thinks it is notable and writes about it. Note that World Dodgeball Federation Rules (with a spurious capital on rules) will never be acceptable because it is source material, a copyvio and utterly unencyclopedic. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:02, 19 May 2012 (UTC)

Kraftwurx

I'm concerned that you have speedied this as an A7, then salted it, despite my contesting the CSD on its talk. 8-( Andy Dingley (talk) 08:30, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

  • You said: "because this is a new and developing field, in which Kraftwurx is one of the early established companies. This may warrant deletion for poor sourcing, but I don't regard this as speedy material". I did not find your argument convincing and certainly, you have never made any attempt to improve the article yourself. I have e-mailed you the content. Feel free to draft a decent version and submit it via DRV. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 09:28, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
  • Are you familiar with WP:IMPERFECT and WP:SOFIXIT? I do not appreciate you implication that an opinion that something should be kept is invalid unless the editor has already done the legwork personally. We are not under (tight) deadlines here, and it is particularly wrong for one editor (or admin) to impose their ideas of a reasonable timescale & workload onto another. Personally, you have no idea how busy I've been in the last week - and I consider that I have sufficient of a past contribution history here to be granted a modicum of respect, or at least basic AGF, for this.
I'm not claiming this article should necessarily be kept - as you point out, I haven't done adequate research to judge this. Yet all I'm claiming is that it isn't so obviously poor as to meet speedy. Where things aren't clear we don't speedy them, we discuss them. Nor should one single admin salt articles without discussion. Salting is for protection against vandalism and deliberate damage, not borderline notability where the question is merely whether sufficient independent sources are yet available.
I find your attitude, once again, to be arrogant, high-handed, dismissive of collegiate working, and quite unfit (yet sadly typical) of an admin. Having an admin's buttons does not make you an arbiter of content quality - that is why we have forums for working on such things by consensus. Your response to a speedy being contested here involved no discussion and was, if anything, a spur to you deleting it even faster. Speedy is supposed to be speedy, not instant - and there was no BLP or similar issue here. I don't know who tagged it as a speedy - but please don't tell me it was you too! Andy Dingley (talk) 09:56, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Tamara Brooks

Dear RHaworth, I am writing to object to the speedy deletion of Tamara Brooks. Tamara Brooks was one of the most important female conductors and one of the most important choral conductors of her time. It was surprising to me to read the questioning of her "importance" when the article clearly demonstrated her widespread international repute. See also here: http://necmusic.edu/tamara-brooks-1941-2012

Note also that A7 was given as the reason for deletion. However, A7 itself states why the deletion was in error: It is irrelevant whether the claim of notability within the article is not sufficient for the notability guidelines. If the claim is credible, the A7 tag can not be applied. Often what seems non-notable to a new page patroller is shown to be notable in a deletion discussion. A7 was wrongfully applied. I strongly object to this deletion. LeonardoCiampa (talk) 11:46, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

  • You said "taken from a downloadable curriculum vitae of Tamara Brooks". Unless you actually point us to that CV so that we can see that it is licensed under the GFDL, then it is by definition a copyvio. The text was taken from tamarabrooksconductor.com. It has no licence notice so its use was an unambiguous copyvio. Also, we want a biography not a CV and, most importantly, we need links to significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. If you attend to these matters, a bio will probably stick. I have e-mailed you the text. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:09, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

It is obvious that RHaworth wrongfully applied A7. It is equally obvious that Ms. Brooks was, indeed, notable. (I do not believe that RHaworth read the article that he was deleting.) As the writer of the original article I can report that the text was not copied from tamarabrooksconductor.com, nor was it even based upon that page. The text did utilize information from a CV which anyone can download from that site in PDF format. I don't see how that can be mistaken for a copyright violation. Further, if RHaworth feels the article needs editing, that is very easily accomplished when the article is actually there. LeonardoCiampa (talk) 13:25, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

  • OK, so it was copied from this PDF. Because the PDF contains no mention of copyright or licensing, we must assume that it is copyright its author, all rights reserved. In any case, to simply copy text to Wikipedia is really slovenly. If you are not prepared to take the time to write a proper biography, please do not bother. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:32, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
In all due respect, your understanding of American copyright law is faulty in this instance. "Because the PDF contains no mention of copyright or licensing ..." Nor does a menu at a restaurant. That said, of course I am prepared to spend more time with the article, and I will assume that you consider the New York Times and Boston Globe to be "reliable sources." However you've made it rather difficult to do so. Lastly: I do not believe you read the article and, therefore, gave no thought to whether or not Ms. Brooks was notable or not. LeonardoCiampa (talk) 13:46, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
When you do so, this book may be useful. --92.6.200.56 (talk) 14:17, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
RE "copying text," obviously I didn't change enough text to escape the bot. But again, had you read any of these texts, you would have noticed a good faith attempt to reword and not to copy verbatim. There are, indeed, many articles that read like bios, and I agree that that is to be avoided. LeonardoCiampa (talk) 13:51, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
  • Menus at a restaurant are arguably copyrightable as a whole, by the way. The listing of facts, no, but the presentation and format as a whole is. And yes, American copyright law forces us to consider all things that are published to be copyrighted with all rights reserved, unless stated otherwise. This is not a new idea. See [4]. • Yes, of course the New York Times and the Boston Globe are reliable sources, the problem was that you did not include them in your article. And how have I "made it rather difficult to do so" - the title is not protected so there is nothing to prevent you submitting a decent, well referenced new version. OK, apologies, yes I was wrong to use A7 as the deletion reason - I accept she is probably notable. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 14:50, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

Userified

Based on RHaworth's concession that this is likely not A7-worthy, I have restored it. But in order to give a chance for LeonardoCiampa to incorporate the sources mentioned above, I have userified it to his user space. I hope all see this as a viable compromise between letting it remain as it was, and forcing LeonardoCiampa to construct a new article from scratch. - TexasAndroid (talk) 16:20, 24 May 2012 (UTC) Struct. Renold plc

Hi, your name is associated with the removal / deletion of the page for Renold plc and I'm trying to establish what caused this. I am the marketing communications manager for the chain division within Renold and so I have a responsibility to ensure that our content is represented accurately and fairly on environments like Wikipedia. I would be very grateful to find out more about this issue and if the content simply needs modifying to conform with Wikipedia best practice I'll make sure it is done. Regards, Dt2791 (talk) 14:18, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

  • Since you know that I deleted it, you will also know that in fact I did a very rare thing for me - I rescued it from deletion because I recognised Renold as a company that I had heard of and consider likely to be notable. The entire edit history is there. As you can see it was suicidally short. Please read our warnings about editors with a COI. But if you make appropriate, non-spammy additions and above all add links to significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources, it will probably be acceptable. Do not move it into mainspace yourselves but ask me or Vcorani (talk · contribs) to give it our stamp of approval by moving it for you. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 15:08, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
  • I see that I told Vcorani to ask me or Peridon (talk · contribs) before publishing. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 17:19, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
    • I dont know who is User:Dt2791 but if youre staff for renold, then i did try in initiating a page for your company so others could add what they knew - but then wikipedia deleted it before any could expand it - i suppose thats what you call wikipedia's 'pleasant nature' of co-operation. — VC 15:57, 25 May 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vcorani (talkcontribs)
  • Vcorani, please do not give out incorrect information, especially to newbies. If you look at your talk page you will see that I told you twice that I restored your draft to User:Vcorani/Renold plc. "Wikipedia deleted it" - what an amazing comment from someone who has been editing for four years. Wikipedia never deletes anything. Deletions are done by named admins who are always willing to discuss their actions. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:43, 25 May 2012 (UTC)

Can you reserrect FLOMO?

Hi, The page was written to not advertise or promote the business or brand, but just to give an overview of its existence and short history and purpose. Would you like it reworded? Was there something negative that stood out to cause to speedily delete it? I am trying my best to resolve the situation and am hoping you can help me on this. I read through the guidelines and terms of use and think the article is valid.

Here is some proof of the material: [5] [6] [7]. Thanks for your attention. B2BSource (talk) 16:24, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

  • Kindly have the decency to wait until someone with no COI thinks your company is notable and writes about it. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 17:09, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

No Car Club deletion

You have removed a page for No Car Club quoting "(A7: Article about a group or club, which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject)". No Car Club is only a name for a service website, it is not a club or irrelevant entity, please visit and investigate the site at www.nocarclub.com. I have created NCC wikipedia page after reading this article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real-time_ridesharing and following the same format as these page which already exist on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tickengo http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avego http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PickupPal http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zimride http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zebigo .

It is relevant as it provides the same service as business listed above. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Radekz (talkcontribs) 19:46, 24 May 2012 (UTC)

JetDownloader Article

I just saw that you are about to delete Jetdownloader article and i cannot understand the reason. This is an informative article about an application and not an advert. I read similar articles about other downloaders, and based on the information provided at these articles i created one about JetDownloader. I cannot see the difference! Though i am interested to learn what kind of review is needed in order to be acceptable. Also, wiki's info guide is a bit confusing for a new editor like me. Thank you in advance, Hatemondays (talk) 12:32, 25 May 2012 (UTC)

  • Call me cynical if you wish but when I see an article such as yours from someone with your contributions history, I automatically assume spam or at best a serious COI. If you can actually provide evidence that your product is notable, I suggest you follow this advice. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:43, 25 May 2012 (UTC)

Your edit to the Teahouse template

Hi RHaworth, the parameters set in the templates are not an "obsession" as you stated with your changes[8], they are the design. If you feel like aspects of the design should be changed, please discuss them on the Teahouse talk page. Thank you. heather walls (talk) 15:31, 25 May 2012 (UTC)

Surgical Care Affiliates

I am hoping you can provide some insight as to why you deleted the Surgical Care Affiliates page. The deletion entry made reference to lack of relevance and I would like to better understand that. Surgical Care Affiliates owns and manages 145 surgical facilities across the United States, providing care for 750,000 patients each year. That sort of scale is of course just one facet and I can expand depending on your perspective. Thanks, Brian Btm6280 (talk) 22:10, 25 May 2012 (UTC)

  • The deletion log says absolutely nothing about "lack of relevance" - where on earth did you get that phrase from? The article had been around for about five years. How is it that all that time nobody had thought to add even one independent reference? "Expand"? You shot yourself in the foot by contracting the article to one fifth of its original size. I have e-mailed you a version before you started your butchery. I suggest you add links to significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources and submit your version via AfC. If it is accepted, please let me know so that I can restore the old edits underneath. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:42, 25 May 2012 (UTC)

Sovereigns

Namesthey Roger, you have deleted the article titled COMPARATIVE RATING INDEX OF SOVEREIGNS quoting unambiguous advertising or promotion as the reason. I kindly Refute your action for the following reasons, 1.The article is about the steps taken by Ministry of finance , Govt. of India. 2.It is not related to any private organisation 3.I am a freelance writer and i am not working under Govt. of India. If you still feel that it is an advertisement please pin point your reasons so that i can correct and rewrite the article. Please provide me the original article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Janagiramanpp (talkcontribs) 03:38, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

  • People were put off by your article even before they opened it because you chose to shout the title - why? OK, it was not blatant advertising but since there was a total absence of links to significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources, I had little hesitation in deleting it. I have restored it to User:Janagiramanpp/sandbox. The number of Google hits is not very promising, but if you can show that the index is notable, please add suitable references and move it to Comparative Rating Index of Sovereigns. Please learn how to do wikilinks and inter-wiki links. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:47, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
  • I admit your views. I am unaware of shouting conventions. Here after i will avoid it. since it is new idea it is difficult to find using google(thats why I wrote the article in wiki) . I will rewrite the article with proper reference now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Janagiramanpp (talkcontribs) 14:26, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion of Robust Details Limited

Hello

My page, Robust Details Limited, has been Speedy Deleted.

I created the page in similar style & content to the NHBC page, as both organisations are linked, and it seemed appropriate to have Robust Details as well as NHBC. The page has been deleted - I did not receive a message notifying me of this. I am relatively new to this, but had thought I would get a message raising any concerns, so I could respond and address them and make any necessary changes or provide supporting information. Has the content completely gone? What can I do about it?

I would welcome any advice, suggestions.

Thank you

(talk page stalker) Hey, Buildrd! You can sign your posts by typing out four tildes. It'll look like ~~~~ when you type it out, but when you save the page, those four characters will get replaced with your signature. As for your article, I can't tell you about the content issues; I can't see the deleted page, as I'm not an admin. But the content isn't lost forever; admins can still see it, and it's possible for them to send you the contents. One problem that you article had was that it was in the wrong namespace: if you noticed, it had "Wikipedia:" in front of the title. This means that it was in the Wikipedia namespace, which is a place where we keep various rules and things about Wikipedia, and not the actual articles. I'm sure this isn't why the article was deleted (it's easily fixable by a page move), but it's something to keep in mind for the future. Writ Keeper 19:10, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
Hello Writ Keeper. Thanks for that. I figured out Signing but duplicated it! I see what you mean by the Wikipedia page too. Another user has responded on my Talk page, so I have a better idea of what I can do to support my page. Appreciate the response. Great to see so many people happy to help someone new! Had some feedback on my Talk page too, that's given me some advice - I'll try that & see how it goes.Buildrd (talk) 19:36, 29 May 2012 (UTC)

  • How many more times do we have to delete your article and how many more accounts are you going to create before you realise that we do not like people whose only purpose is to promote themselves, their websites, etc. Please stop trying. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:59, 30 May 2012 (UTC)

help....?

hello there, my name is oliver, but oli for short. Look im really trying to make this band page for my friends and im having a little bit of difficulty in doing so. Like first off i do NOT know how to make the blue box in the left hand corner for where the band's basic information goes such as, members, past members, name, record label, picture, so on, so forth. and i was wondering if your not busy and if you have the time if you could help me out thank you and sincerely oliverr:) TRUEFAME (talk) 13:12, 30 May 2012 (UTC)

  • Infoxes go at top right in case you have not noticed. I am pleased to see that you have moderated your language since you wrote this obscenity. But the answer is still "no". Kindly have the decency to wait until someone with no COI thinks your band is notable and writes about it. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 14:11, 30 May 2012 (UTC)

User:TRUEFAME

Hey, RHaworth, forgive me for asking this. Was it necessary to block TRUEFAME? I remember the ugliness with User:IHopeYouDieSincerely quite well, but that account's block expired, and hasn't been used since; even if this is the same person (which is not improbable), could it be considered a WP:CLEANSTART, rather than a socking attempt? TREUFAME, although he still doesn't get it, seems to be pretty civil this time around. Just something to consider. Writ Keeper 13:51, 30 May 2012 (UTC)

  • Sock puppets are not allowed. User:IHopeYouDieSincerely was a very unfriendly user name. User:TRUEFAME is equally unacceptable to me because it is shouting. If Oliver had some useful contributions to make, I would recommend him to adopt a new, non-rude, non-shouting user name. But since he probalby has no such contributions, what does it matter. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 14:11, 30 May 2012 (UTC)
Doesn't, really; it's probably not a huge loss. Just wanted to ask. Writ Keeper 14:16, 30 May 2012 (UTC)

blanking the redirect or CSD ?

Hi, can you suggest what is the best thing to do for the redirect created as a result of "file move" due to "shadow commons" should we

  1. blank the redirect to make way for commons image or
  2. nominate for CSD G6 or CSD G8

thought of having your advice on this , thanks--ÐℬigXЯaɣ 08:35, 31 May 2012 (UTC)
