Abbas Hasan page
Dear RHaworth, I'm new to wikipedia so I apologise for all the questions. The reason mentioned for deleting the page on Pakistani pop singer Abbas Hasan was that it was not notable. Abbas Hasan is one of the top up and coming artists and I think it's important to feature him here. He is heavily covered by local press and is set to heavily influence the Lollywood music scene in 2008. Does this mean that if I provide more info and references of some coverage that the page can be restored? Many thanks for your help.

- It was partly a mistake – my new pages list showed me that you had created two articles one with correct capitalisation. So I deleted Mixed martial arts fighters association assuming that you would be working on the other article. For some reason you blanked that one as well. Re-create it if you wish but I suspect it would not survive AfD. - Any knowledge I have would come from the web so you could do it just as easily as me. Note:
- there are so many Penroses in Cornwall that the title should be Penrose, Padstow or Penrose, Porthleven, etc. with Penrose, Cornwall being made into a dab.
- If you are talking about Penrose, Padstow at grid reference SW875707, mention should be made of the WW II airfield just northeast of the village. This airfield is different from RAF St Eval and RAF St. Mawgan. Its name was almost certainly not RAF Penrose because a Google search for that just comes up with the person.

West Runton War Memorial
I see you have placed a quick deletion tag on this page that I created. I disagree strongly with your comment that this war memorial is no more important than any other. If that were the case are the men on this memorial less important than any other article about other war memorials(i.e. The Liverpool Scottish memorial stone). I intend to list the men on this memorial who gave there lives and to give the article more content after further research. Being someone who has done research into my relatives who were killed in the Great War having an article on a memorial that they were listed would have been something I would have found really interesting and useful. More so than some of the drose that is appearing on Wikipedia. As you are fully aware article take time to improve and reach a point where they have become an interesting and useful encyclopedic source. Buy creating it before I have completely researched the memorial , I hoped that positive impute may come from other editors unfortunately it seems only to only have attracted your negative response. I have also found that at this time there seems to be no other source of information about the war dead of the communities of East and West Runton on the Web. I must also stress that I have not placed this article because of any of my family links, there are all in Devon, but feel that record of this and many other memorials across the country would be a useful addition to this encyclopedia. - I disagree. What you have already put in the West Runton article is quite sufficient. If there is not already a specific website for UK war memorials and the names they bear, I suggest that you start one. That info. does not belong here. I am surprised to find someone with your experience of Wikipedia even thinking about putting the men's names up – WP:NOT is quite clear: WP is not for lists and WP is not for memorials [of non-notable people]. - I have had situations where the person adding the PROD didn't feel strongly enough to go through AfD. You do, and that's why we do this. Let the AfD discussion begin. Note: I also have some reservations about this person's notability and, as you did, noticed that some of the external links (references?) do not specifically mention him by name. I have seen other weak-starting articles turn into good articles though. It might be interesting to see what the community thinks and to see if the article can be improved before it is deleted. I made a comment at the section you pointed me to. Honestly, I don't care enough about the issue to do any more than that. Only a few people make the mistake a week, and it's easy to fix (they get listed at WP:PRODSUM#Articles with multiple prod tags), so...there's not really an issue in the first place. I have recreated this article, which you deleted while I was in the process of adding information to it. While uninvolved in the article's creation, I saw the speedy tag on it and set to work to make the article, on one of the foremost British poets of the modern era, into something sensible. May I ask why it was deleted, presumably without the precaution of a simple Google search to see if anything came up?

- I was less bold as I figured it would lead to revert warring and so a some form of discussion with seasoned editors might have helped convince the original author that improving the morphology section would be the way to go. And on the image, the original image is from "The New Tree Experts Manual" which was published in 1954 [1]. Assuming no renewal of the copyright, I believe that the original image may have passed into the public domain (not 100% sure, and I'm not a lawyer, etc.). However, the image is a likely a derivative work as it has been taken and modified with attibution by the State of Pennsylvania. And my understanding of US copyright laws is that only Federal works are in the public doamin, and State works remain copyrighted. So it appears very problematic that the author has tagged the image with a GFDL license. I'll tag it as a copyvio for for review by editors more experienced with handling copyright issues. -- Whpq (talk) 14:20, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

The reason I do not put it on the talk page, is I work slowly finding Quality Information is hard especialy if it is Unbiased and if I were to write it on the talk page it would be uncomplete and short the article on agnostic theism is moderate sized, I would write an article like that in my spare time in a month, If I were to put it on the talk page the proposal would be shot down (it being Small) However my hat is off to you for many people do not try to improve wikipedia which includes geting rid of presumed useless articles Seriously. Just for fun you might find it interesting that I am a 17 year old right now at school who should not realy be on wikipedia right now, I live in Apex NC USA, A long way from where you are now in the UK, Nice to meet your Aquantance.

I created a first experiment of a leaderboard for my fictional race based from Metropolis Forums and it was then Deleted due to its lack of corresponding size, I called that one Kiwi Jays Amazing Race as it was deleted I made another calling it Kiwi Jadens The Amazing Race, I spent 3 and a half hours creating that great website and it was deleted?? The deletion description said it was a repost of the other site well it wasnt what do you think I should do can you give it back to me because that is a real race basing off Metropolis Reality Forums called Kiwi Jadens The Amazing Race one of the racing teams told me to create a website so I did and now it is gone all the hard work is gone and I dont feel to good about it PLEASE Can you get it back for me

"Lack of corresponding size" – total nonsense: the previous version Kiwi Jays The Amazing Race was deleted as "vandalism". That was a bit cruel but it was still speedily deletable: it was a pure vanity page. It had no context – I had absolutely no idea what it was about. Its notability was negligible. ecogovernmentality
Hi Haworth. See my edits on ecogovernmentality The term, also spelled "eco-governmentality", refers to work that has been used in Human geography since the late 1990s. Although at one point it certainly was a neologism, it is now an accepted term with a relatively large body of literature behind it. See Google scholar "eco-governmentality" for a glimpse, as well as the references cited below for more detail. The Association of American Geographers recognizes several of them a notable academics. Let me know if you have any other concerns. There you go, I used a move on the Bollywood page instead of cut/paste – sorry for not doing that the first time. I moved it to Hindi film industry, so now film and industry are no longer capitalized. It doesn't mean anything that Bollywood is more commonly used because if you check whatlinkshere/Hollywood you'll see that it is very common as well but is simply a redirect to Cinema of the United States. Bollywood should be a redirect as well. Sir, I had no intention of offending anyone by discussing the details of behind privacy in voting, and I certainly would not like to become known to be a vandal of other peoples work. I suppose your criticism was earned, but I started the new page so that I would not interfere with other peoples work, and because of your complaint. I hope you will be considerate enough not to limit freedom of expression in other peoples work (whether you agree with it or not). I don't feel that Voter Designed Software is a ridiculous title, and I am insulted by your comment. However, I do agree that I do need to clean up the idea considerably. Moving the article to User:Garyrust/sandbox (RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 21:47, 15 January 2008 (UTC))for a while, is likely to be the best way to revise the subject, and remove personal opinions. What I had hoped to make clear is the need for a community solution to the electoral process which would reduce oligarchic imperialism. I see nothing wrong with personal opinion if it serves that purpose. Postulations about things which have occurred, and making rules about the agreements which ensue is not purely rooted in passion. Voting is an area where the common good has become a doctrine of depersonalization. The binary theories of DeMorgan about logic suggests that the combination of sequences can usually be simplified, and Zeno's paradox suggests that a result can not occur at the same time as the description of an infinite series --- so, therefore it is a combination. These are not opinions. They are observations. Human beings produce software for their own purpose. Voter software might be influenced by sequential conflict of interest in it's design, if the method to the result is not visible and open to be viewed. Inductance is only one analytical tool of any normal person. There are as many as there are people.

I am glad to see that you have done your research into this mill and I’m afraid I cant help you in to the reasons why the Trust seem to totally ignore this fine windmill, other than to place a notice on the gate stating that they own it. You meant content fork, I assume. I think strangling the entire article at birth is a little harsh; it's impossible for others to edit or discuss the content if they can't find it. Please be more explicit in your deletion summaries. Hi, there.
You recently admin'd the deletion of Center Tagumpay ng Katotohanan and in your deletion summary you said "nn-bio / blatant advert". While I do not in any way object to the deletion decision/finding, I am nonetheless frustrated by the trend to be so cryptic about admins' reasons for deletion, as many newbies (and myself at one point) cannot for the life of them understand what they mean. As a user that has been on Wikipedia for a handful of years now who is much more adapted, I still cannot figure out what you mean by "nn-bio". The "blatant advert" part I get (even though I haven't seen the article). If from now on you can just type a few more characters to explain the deletion grounds, it would be most helpful to the project. Thanks! Request For Assistance
I am not very sure on what I am supposed to do on a situation like this. I did an WP:RFC but it was removed by someone because it was deemed not needed. Anywho I still think we need some help.
On Talk:Super Smash Bros. (series)#Character reveal there is a debate going on about whether to add "Leaked" Icons that were shown in a video. It is constantly being added and reverted and such like that. I was wanting to know if I can get your opinion on it.

On the OS map the name of the site is Fawcliff (see the Map on) [2] but that two has the other name on it. - I have noted your comments and agree that in the case, for example, a welsh place name, (i.e. WREXHAM or Welsh GWRECSAM) where the name may be in the native designation and also have a British/English name then what you point out is appropriate but I think this example should be used as an exception to the rule as the name has never been agreed, and the two names are different and not a translation or native name. - I just do not understand you! My intention with that edit was far, far from biting. It was actually very sympathetic: "oh dear, all your good work may have been in vain because we already have ...". It is just that I do not pad my comments with feelings, I stick to content. I think the comment below at #Re: Fork shows that Lownen took it in the spirit it was intended. A tag has been placed on Template:East Coast Main Line requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. - You have a section headed "commercial properties for lease …" and you expect us to accept the article! They looked like pure advertising for a non-notable company – see {{db-inc}} and {{db-spam}}. Hello, I am new at this and would appreciate any advice you have so that I can correct my entries. It was not my intention to write "spam." I found many examples of articles in Wikipedia's Category:Real estate and property developers that seem similar to the ones I wrote in structure and tone. Is there one you can suggest from this category that would serve as an ideal model? I am interested in publishing these myself instead of finding someone else to do so who already has written hundreds of articles. - Finding a proxy to post it is my best advice. And clearly I am not that proxy: I think the companies are non-notable. Do you not see that using an established editor is a good indication that there is no COI? If you cannot find an established editor willing, then give up. Work through the category you mention and see who has edited each article. General practice at WP:UAA is to block promotion-only accounts, with ip block off and account creation allowed. That's what I was following at the time, particularly as the user had a promotional article on his userpage. - No need to explain more. I know the policy – I just disagree with it. In fact I consider any user name blocking pretty pointless – it only puts off the timid ones – the determined ones create sock puppets. Title blocking on the other hand, I am strongly in favour of. I came across a page which is a bit of a mish-mash and I wondered what your thoughts would be on what to do with it. It defiantly needs some attention. I am trying to make 2 substantial additions to the section on Youth Offending Teams with new pages as follows 1. A Manual of good practice 2. A list of Acronyms used in the youth justice industry.

- What do you mean "appears to have been"? The edit history is quite explicit that I deleted a block of text. User pages are for you to tell other Wikipedians about yourself. If you wish to create draft articles, use something like User:Veraguinne/sandbox.
- But in the case of the text I deleted, I assumed that it was a copy and paste of an existing document and was therefore a copyvio. On the superficial level it would never work as a wikipedia document: section numbers are generated, not typed; we do not centre headings and we absolutely do not SHOUT. On the content level, assuming that they are actually your own work, the two titles you propose are both inappropriate here. The manual is out because Wikipedia is not an how-to guide. Try posting it to Wikibooks. The list of acronyms may well also be accepted at Wikibooks, or failing that, try Wiktionary. -- RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 13:16, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

- The jargon buster page is inappropriate for a slightly different reason. It is what I call a "prima-donna-ish essay". You have created your own article without checking if the terms already exist in Wikipedia, possibly better defined – anger management is a good example. We do not need a separate list. Just go through your terms and see if the existing description here is OK and if not, improve it. There is absolutely no need for a separate article. I started the user page about the Project – expansion of the knowledge-base on Referral orders – instead of about myself, wanting to show the totality. The format was a straight copy of the Word original. 3. I'm afraid I don't understand your reference to SHOUTING. 4. I have the full permission of the articles' author, who is uncomfortable with on-line technology, but wishes to encourage input from others. Publication on the Youth Justice Board's Directory of Emerging practice has been inexplicably delayed. 5. I explained in detail my attempted expansion of the Youth Offending Team page to Deb here if you care to look, User talk:Deb, .(She still won't buy it...Sigh) The Manual and jargon Buster are not a 'How to', but an experience-based application of Community Justice measures newly introduced by statute in the 21st century. We are therefore presented with an evolving system. Both articles are the logical extension of the Youth Offending Team Page, and are fully inter-linked with each other since approx 50% of YOTs workloads relates to Referral Orders received from Courts – which is likely to increase with the new Criminal Justice Bill. 6. Whilst Anger-Management may occur in other contexts, it's application in YOTs is unique in the context of Referral Orders ie the systematic attempt to change a child's behaviour in order to prevent repeat re-offending – hence it's inclusion. The 'prima-donna' tag arises not from posturing, but from a newly introduced system of Community Justice.
If I post the articles to Wikibooks or Wikitionary, could they be cross-referred to Referral orders in Wikipedia?

Hmmm...the purpose of the sign is to show you that through the auspices of the YOT – with the help of Joe & Jane Public (me)- the young person's negative behaviour is being turned to good account. An element of Shaming is involved ( not humiliation) but is based on the fact that the yp pleaded guilty and so Accepts Responsibility AND is prepared to make amends to the Kingston Community. It isn't rocket science, but these are young adults whose whole purpose in life is to test the boundaries you and I have drawn. Better than than shoving them into jail. - The word SHOUT is a link. Did you follow the link? On reflection, the best place for your manual is probably Wikia. Wikibooks is for manuals of general interest. Wiki is for special interest groups which yours is. You do have to ask for permission to start a wiki on Wikia but you should not have any difficulty getting acceptance. And of course you can and should create links from your manual back to Wikipedia.
- As to the Glossary (a much more professional sounding name!) that will reduce in the most part to a set of Wikilinks! I took your submission and edited it in User:Veraguinne/sandbox. In my version there are eight titles which I felt would be completely covered in Wikipedia articles and two that I felt needed YOT-specific treatment. You may feel that a few more need some YOT-specific comment. And as for Ashfield Young Offender’s Institution, please create the Wikipedia article for us – that definitely should not be hidden away on Wikia! The 'prima-donna' tag in my mind had abolutely nothing to do with any change in the Community Justice system! It was my reaction to the shameless introduction of so many forks (that is another link for you to follow!) of existing Wikipedia articles.

It is the criterion for receiving a Referral order, as opposed to another sentence. The notion of Shaming is a throw-back to the punitive ethos beloved by police and JPs,(cf 'making an example' of Joseph Scholes) which the RO system is intended to replace. Shaming is proving extremely difficult to dislodge from law enforcers & JPs' mindsets, especially in the face of media hype about teenagers. It is of course the foundation stone of the supposed 'deterrence effect' of punitive sanctions, but entirely inappropriate in the context of children in the criminal justice system. http://www.restorativejustice.org/editions/2008/feb08/saruling 2. Ignorance is no excuse; I did not register a link from the colour and upper case of your original SHOUT. 3. You requested an article about Ashfield – it is only one of a number of YOI's and other places of incarceration for under 18's. And yes I need to anonymise the original more carefully (!). An article about Ashfield would also have to address the other penal institutions and the why's & wherefores of the different types of penal establishment for children, which are not in any case available to the general public. This is my problem in a nutshell – the whole field of Youth Justice is a discrete and specialist area, in and of itself, largely shrouded in secrecy. Many people and organisations are trying to change this status quo – mine included. My colleague's articles are an important step in the demystification of the criminal justice process as it affects children. Hence my rather desperate attempts to save it from being consigned to Oblivion. I shall of course approach wikia, but in the light of the above circumstances, would it be possible for me to beg to make a special case for inclusion of the Manual as I originally intended ie as an appendage to the YOT page? 4. Do you mean that I should simply list the terms elsewhere referenced, without discussion of the YOT context and usage in the Manual ? ie Apology The term “apology” is derived from the Greek “apologia”(απολογία) which is the defence of an act or idea. The meaning most relevant to Youth Justice is an expression of contrition or remorse, out of which emotions the expression of apology will arise. The concept of apology is central to the culture of restorative justice – without such an acknowledgement of wrong doing it is difficult for a victim to forgive.

See Her Majesty's Young Offender Institution and follow the links for YOIs already written up. You do not hang a discussion on "the why's & wherefores of the different types of penal establishment for children" on one individual institution. In fact looking at it, it seems as though we do not actually have an article on the why's and wherefores. So that would be scope for a separate new article.
- Re special case in 3. above. I see no grounds for a special case. Just go for putting your manual on the web, but not on Wikipedia. Again, why endure our hassle when you can publish in peace elsewhere? OK if you don't like the shared ownership of Wikia, go to EditThis and create a wiki instantly.

He seems to enjoy deleting contributions without consideration or explanation and likes to "bite" newcomers with his sarcastic remarks as it makes it seem like he has nothing better to do in Croydon. No offense to Croydon, it's a lovely suburb. My husband is from there but he is no where as snarky. Mr. Haworth would be doing a newcomer a better service if he help them instead of helping himself with self-important comments.
