Awards in Infoboxes edit

The only awards that belong in the infoboxes of theatre articles are Tonys and Oliviers, unless there is a special case, like a Pulitzer. If the show never went to Broadway or the West End, then we *can* mention the highest award given in the industry for the market where it played, like an Obie, but this is not essential. Please remove all the Drama Desk awards and other lesser awards. If people start adding lesser awards, the infoboxes will become an even more severe space problem at the top of articles; please help to keep non-essential info out of infoboxes. See Article Structure Guidelines at WP:MUSICALS. -- Ssilvers (talk) 19:16, 20 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Great work, thanks! Please let me know if anyone challenges these edits on any of the articles, and I will be happy to review the situation and weigh in. By the way, in my opinion, the "Awards" sections at the bottom of musicals, especially successful musicals with lots of awards, are out of control and violate WP:BALASP. The better quality articles often move the big fat Awards tables to a separate sub-article and leave in the main article a short section with a text summary that gives a brief overview of the most important awards earned by the musical. For example, see how it is handled in Wicked (musical). Alternately, the awards can simply be mentioned in the Productions section or the Critical reception section. In The King and I we did both, mentioning the key awards in the Productions section, together with the description of each production, and then giving the cross-reference to the sub-article in the Critical reception section near the bottom. -- Ssilvers (talk) 01:34, 21 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

July 2019 edit

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give 90 Days (Pink song (featuring Wrabel)) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into 90 Days (song). This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. — Smjg (talk) 23:59, 11 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Please discuss your changes at Melanie Martinez discography edit

A change as significant as moving promotional singles released while a contestant—in this case, Martinez—was on The Voice should be discussed. If you look around, you will find that basically no articles put these sorts of singles in the main singles table of an artist. Do not edit war; get consensus on the article talk page. Thank you. Alright, thank you for the information. I don't follow any Voice alumni outside of Martinez so I wasn't accustomed to how to handle those releases. I'll be sure to take that into account from now on.Gagaluv1 (talk) 18:14, 23 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Category:LGBT-related podcasts on Welcome to Night Vale edit

Hey Gagaluv1, figured it would be easiest to talk to you here about the edits we have been disagreeing on. While (as per your edit summary) sources talk about the two male main characters' relationship and marriage and there are LGBTQ+ characters in the show, none of this is mentioned (and then referenced) in the article. This is why as per WP:CATV I removed the category. The only mention of any LGBTQ+ atm appears to be a very brief mention of a character in a fictional podcast inside the podcast. Kate Bush US 'Wuthering Heights' Bubbling Under peak edit

Hi, in relation to your recent edit on the Kate Bush discography page, "Wuthering Heights" apparently did peak at #8 on the Bubbling Under chart (though, technically, this is not the same as being #108 as was listed on the discography). It does not currently appear on the Billboard site (which, unfortunately, seems to have an incomplete record) here https://www.billboard.com/music/kate-bush under Bubbling Under, though. Someone (who is now deceased) posted her UK & US chart history, along with that of many other artists, here - https://www.ukmix.org/showthread.php?12425&p=483578#post483578 , where "Wuthering Heights" can be seen charting at #108. However, wikipedia does not allow UK Mix to be cited directly (I assume due to it being abused in the past for citing claimed worldwide sales for artists - for which it would not be a reliable source).Nqr9 (talk) 02:22, 24 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

  Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Left at London, you may be blocked from editing. For the discography of an underground musician like Left at London, whose recordings don't have any chart positions or sales certifications, I don't think it's a good idea to use a table. In addition, your edits like this one are not supported by the sources cited in the article. 180.34.5.180 (talk) 23:13, 30 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

...Okay. So why didn't you just say that? You have not offered any reason for undoing my edits, you've just kept removing my tables by just claiming its "unsourced" (which it is not). Also going through past versions of my talk page just to dredge up other bad faith attacks against me is just bizzare.Gagaluv1 (talk) 23:17, 30 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Left at London. You haven't provided any good reason to use a table to this article. Furthermore, most of your edits like this one and this one are not supported by the sources cited in the article. For example, does the source state that You Are Not Alone Enough will be released in 2020? No. Do the sources state that Youth Group Computer, 2 Rowdy 4 Dennys / Give Peace a Break, and Will Write Songs 4 Money are demo albums? No. Do the sources state that these recordings were released on vinyl and/or CD? No. Please stop adding unsourced content. 180.34.5.180 (talk) 23:32, 30 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Whatever, you win. I don't have the time to argue with an IP, and besides I know this isn't going to go anywhere.Gagaluv1 (talk) 17:07, 31 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Why are you so obsessed with this? The content is factual and sourced and reverting it is just disruptive and you would be blocked by now if you were a real account. You don’t get to gatekeep how articles are presented based on personal preference. And stop hiding behind various ips. It’s cowardly.Gagaluv1 (talk) 01:47, 17 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Left at London. Again, for the discography of an underground musician like Left at London, whose recordings don't have any chart positions or sales certifications, I don't think it's a good idea to use a table. You haven't provided any good reason to use a table to this article. 123.225.131.115 (talk) 01:51, 17 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Finally an actual discussion instead of empty threats! I think a table is a more succint representation of the information, as such tables are standard across the entire website. Additionally lists can’t give you information like release dates, formats, and record labels without getting overly crowded.Gagaluv1 (talk) 02:00, 17 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
Using a table to the discography is not mandatory in Wikipedia. Release date, record label, and format can be added to the article like this way:
  • "6 Feet" (4 December 2019, Left at London Is Gay, digital download)
Again, most of your edits are not supported by the sources cited in the article. 123.225.131.115 (talk) 02:25, 17 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
All of this can be easily verified and I have never seen an article individually source every single format. I believe that putting it in a table makes it easier to read. This really doesn’t have anything more to it than personal preference.Gagaluv1 (talk) 02:33, 17 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
In most cases, underground musicians' recordings are not easily verified. Hence the discography for these artists need sourcing. If Left at London's recording appears on any notable chart (Billboard, Official Charts Company, etc.), I won't object to using a table in this article.
With this edit, "Blacknwhite" has been already restored with a source. I have no idea why you keep removing the source. 123.225.131.115 (talk) 02:50, 17 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Running out of options edit

Do you also disagree with simply piping it as BLOODMONEY and omitting the confusing and contradictory note? Because that still makes the most sense to me. Alternatively, would you agree the article should not exist in the first place, like every other song on the album doesn't? It seems complicated just for the sake of complication. Not blaming you, of course. Just the situation. InedibleHulk (talk) 21:20, 22 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Standard policy is just listing the song as "Bloodmoney" with a note. That's how it's always done. For recent examples see Norman Fucking Rockwell! or Thank U, Next.

Meghan Trainor discography edit

Hi, Gagaluv1. Do you have some time to discuss the recent changes to this list? I believe we should have a secondary source calling these EPs? Buzzfeed referred to The Love Train as her second EP, and so did the Press of Atlantic City and Us Weekly. Billboard didn't refer to her live releases as EPs either. I do not believe it is appropriate for us to do so when there are no sources for it.--NØ 16:46, 29 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Spotify Sessions and Singles are considered EPs per many other artist discographies: (Dua Lipa, Carly Rae Jepsen, Harry Styles, etc.). It doesn't make sense to separate these two lists as they are both extended plays.Gagaluv1 (talk) 16:51, 29 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
I don't believe that the application of this should be uniform, that is WP:OSE. The Billboard link above states: The two singles bring fans a more relaxed version of "Let You Be Right" and a tender take on Sloan's lonely party anthem, so they clearly do not consider Spotify Singles an EP. The version of the Swift discography article that passed an FLC listed live albums separately [1], same case with Trainor. So if anything, these should be used as examples to change the Carly, Harry and Dua lists. Regards, NØ 16:59, 29 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Deletion discussion about Trixie and Katya Save the World edit

Hello, Gagaluv1, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username North8000, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Trixie and Katya Save the World, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Trixie and Katya Save the World.

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not ballot-polls. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|North8000}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

WP:RFPP edit

I have responded to your request at WP:RFPP but I haven't closed it, I will leave it for a second opinion. The edit protected requests were denied for two reasons: 1, they didn't provide a specific set of edits required ie change "this line X" to "this line Y." I made one change after a specific request on the talk page. The second reason is because the changes do not have a consensus and are the cause of the edit warring that has caused the page to be temporarily protected in the first place. Instead of the edit protected requests please contribute to the discussion as to how to move all of the articles forward and prevent the edit warring. Woody (talk) 22:29, 16 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

May 2020 edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. livelikemusic (TALK!) 17:19, 21 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Antonyo awards edit

Hey, is there a reason why we need to add the Antonyo award nominations to articles? Per WP:MT/AS#Response, awards sections should focus on major awards. Considering the Antonyos have been around for one season, are not created by an established nominating body, and are voted on by users (which we are supposed to be avoiding anyways per WP:UGC), I don't think they qualify. I see you're involved in the article so I'd appreciate your help with any gender-related disruptive edits. cave (talk) 19:45, 12 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

She produced many albums and came to prominence with her old name/gender before, so there's nothing wrong with mentioning it. You've been reverted multiple times and yet refuse discuss on the talk page. You've also violated WP:3RR once. You should move on. nyxærös 09:49, 13 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Citing a YouTube video edit

Hi, I noticed your edit to Axiom's End. For a YouTube video, you can use {{cite AV media}} (Template:Cite AV media) which allows a time parameter so you can include the timestamp for the location in the video that supports the content. That way readers (and other editors) don't have to listen/watch the whole thing to verify information. Happy editing! Schazjmd (talk) 21:16, 10 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Okay, thank you for the information! I'll be sure to implement that into my future editing!Gagaluv1 (talk) 00:44, 11 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

If an article is tagged with {{in use}}, why would you edit it? ―Justin (koavf)TCM 15:25, 14 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

It's a new topic and I'm adding necessary information that was left out. Don't create a page that's barely started.Gagaluv1 (talk) 15:27, 14 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Gagaluv1, I'm in the middle of editing it. Why would you change the citation style, too? And rewrite the copy entirely? You also added unsourced information. What are you doing? ―Justin (koavf)TCM 15:29, 14 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
I changed it to a citation style that is more standard and easy to use. Again, don't just create an article with barely any information and just expect people to leave it be.Gagaluv1 (talk) 15:32, 14 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Gagaluv1, See WP:CITEVAR: don't change things just because you don't like them, don't add unsourced information (WP:V), don't edit articles that are in use. You can wait 45 minutes. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 15:37, 14 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Don't change things just because you don't like them and then introduce a bunch of errors. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 15:40, 14 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
I'm sorry if what I did upset you, but I don't see why it's a bad thing to edit articles that have been created already. Also, why did you create Category:Orville Peck EPs? It's a useless category since there's only one in it, and EPs are completely allowed to be in artist album category.Gagaluv1 (talk) 15:50, 14 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Because it had {{in use}} on it, you introduced several errors, you broke rules like WP:CITEVAR, and you aren't listening. That's why. I created the category to diffuse subcategories of Category:Pop EPs and Category:Country music EPs. "EPs are completely allowed to be in artist album category": ??? ―Justin (koavf)TCM 15:46, 14 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Literally all "Category:*artist name* albums" articles include EPs as well, it's an unnecessary distinction. Besides categories shouldn't exist if there's only one page in them.Gagaluv1 (talk) 15:50, 14 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Gagaluv1, What is your problem? You cannot keep doing this: you are introducing source and formatting errors. This article uses list-defined sources and does not use {{Track listing}}. Stop. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 15:54, 14 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Excuse me, why doesn't this article use Track listing? Because you said? You don't own this article.Gagaluv1 (talk) 15:57, 14 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Gagaluv1, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? I am in the middle of writing this. If you do this again, I'm taking this to WP:ANI. You have to stop. And yes, it doesn't use the track listing template because I said so: I started the article, so I get to choose the style. Just like the citation style, per WP:CITEVAR. See Wikipedia:WikiProject_Albums/Album_article_style_advice#Track_listing. You obviously don't know what you're doing and aren't previewing your edits because you keep on removing the artwork and introducing errors over and over again. Stop it. Wait until the {{in use}} template is removed and don't change citation styles or the track listing style. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 16:03, 14 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Again, YOU DON'T OWN THIS ARTICLE, and I expanded the tracklisting cuz it allows for more information. And yes I know what I've been doing, I've been editing for six years. You're just being a control freak about this article when wikipedia is supposed to be a collaborative spaceGagaluv1 (talk) 16:06, 14 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Gagaluv1, It is supposed to be a collaborative space, which is why I expect my colleagues to be respectful and not make arbitrary changes, keep on reverting errors into articles, insert unsourced info, and fight me on long-standing guidelines. How is it I am the control freak when you keep on changing an established style? You don't have any right to do that, so stop. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 16:15, 14 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Koavf: I came here from the WP:AN discussion so I am aware that things have changed since this discussion started. I just want to say that the next time something like this happens, and particularly if it involves Gagaluv1, please let me know and I will block them if they persist after a warning. Image without license edit

Unspecified source/license for File:Sadder badder cooler.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Sadder badder cooler.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|cc-by-sa-4.0}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

More Love isn’t a soundtrack album edit

It’s not appropriate to call More Love by Sara Bareilles a soundtrack album because Bareilles’s recordings (other than the theme song) aren’t used in the series. There’s a separate soundtrack album from the Little Voice cast, and even the recording of “Little Voice” on Bareilles’s album is unique to her album and has significant differences from that used as the theme song. I’ll be reverting your edit but wanted to explain in detail why better than I could in an edit summary. I didn’t catch the album listed in its own soundtrack section, or else I’d have removed it. 67.6.100.195 (talk) 17:24, 9 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Alma albums edit

A tag has been placed on Category:Alma albums requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! October 2020 edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Kinky (Kesha song); that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;

Moneytrees🏝️Talk🌴Help out at CCI! 16:14, 26 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

October 2020 edit

Your recent editing history at Miley Cyrus discography shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Replaceable fair use File:Left at london dazed.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Left at london dazed.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. Thanks again for participating in the discussion, and I'm sorry you had to get roped into it like that. Just take my advice and what you learned and proceed carefully. Before editing, maybe start a discussion on the article's talk page, state your intentions, and ask for any objections from other users. If Night Crawling responds, let him. If he becomes uncivil or tries other things, just point others to the discussion on my user talk page and advise they read it. If you need my input or advice, let me know. My user talk page is open. I'll keep eyes on the article, but don't hesitate to let me know if things spiral out of control. :-) Keep up the great work, and thanks again for doing your best to collaborate and try and work things out. I thought it was worth mentioning that the Allstate Man was in the sketch. Uncle Ben is also a well-known character.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 20:03, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

The Allstate Man was not in the sketch, Dave Chappelle portraying him was. It does not matter if the characters are well known. SNL features impressions of well-known people fictional or not, and it is not normal to list what characters get portrayed in every episode. It's only notable when celebrities outside the host or main cast perform in the episode and who they're playing is merely trivia. The only exceptions I would see are cases like Maya Rudolph as Kamala and Alec Baldwin as Trump, because these are recurring characters.Gagaluv1 (talk) 21:55, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

An update for you edit

I just wanted to let you know that I've indefinitely blocked Night Crawling as a sock puppet account of OMG4323. I don't think you'll have any more issues with editing that discography page and adding that content. ;-) Cheers - ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 02:56, 12 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Julien edit

Hey there, in regards to your revert of my edit on Carly’s discography page, on the single page for “Julien”, it has a source for it being an official single, not just a promotional one. I’m not sure what discussion was had that contradicts this, but I just wanted to let you know that that was the reason why I made that edit. If you believe this is incorrect, please look at the source on the single page first. Thanks. 2601:48:8100:9740:3853:227B:38D9:CAF0 (talk) 04:27, 21 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Categorizing "albums by artist" subcategories by genre edit

FYI - I read your edit summary at Category:Taylor Swift albums and wanted to point out to you the RFC that took place in 2019 which stated that such categories should only be placed in genre categories that apply to all the albums of that artist as it is a requirement per WP:CATV. The categorization of such categories is based on the articles that populate it and not every genre an artist has delved into throughout their career. If a specific genre doesn't apply to all their albums, then those album articles that don't apply should be individually categorized by that genre. Thanks and happy holidays. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 16:25, 24 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Demidevil genres edit

Hi Gagaluv1. I noticed you added genres to Demidevil, but upon further looking at the sources, one of the sources calls Ashnikko herself a "bubblegum pop-punk star", not the mixtape itself, which we would explicitly need. The DIY source says the album has "R&B-infused pop backings", and most users would deem R&B an influence in that context, so I removed the genres aside from reinstating pop. Please use refnames in future to tell other users where you specifically got the genres from. The genres are/were not discussed on the article, which they need to be if there are no refnames directly next to the genres. Thanks. Ss112 17:56, 14 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

I guess I was confused, I assumed that sourcing in the lead and infobox isn't necessary if the source itself is listed in the article, but now I understand that only applies if the specific claim appears sourced later in the article. Thanks you for your comment and I will try to be more careful in the future.Gagaluv1 (talk) 17:53, 16 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

34+35 edit

Per WP:BRD: re this edit, why did you revert? Having the disclaimer there makes the row too ambiguous. Which version charted? That’s not specified in the table. Which version was on Positions (album)? That’s not specified either. They are two different singles. If you want. we can just list it below in a separate row. Thanks! D🐶ggy54321 (let's chat!) 16:49, 16 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

I don't understand this rule. We're listing singles, not just singles that charted. The song was released as a single in two forms, why wouldn't we list that? The remix is already being released to radio, and will contribute to the song's chart growth. You could make the argument that it's a single in it's own right apart from the original, but I think it's fine to list them together since they are two versions of the same song.Gagaluv1 (talk) 17:50, 16 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yes, but the original charted those positions. The original was included on Positions. The remix did neither. So it would be incorrect to list them on the same row, as it would be too ambiguous. It’s not clear which version charted. It’s not clear which version was on Positions. That’s the definition of "ambiguous". To disambiguate, what we could do is list the remix on a separate line; that way, it would resolve both examples of ambiguity. D🐶ggy54321 (let's chat!) 00:01, 17 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
I don't really see the need but sure, I think including them together with a note saying only the original was included on the album is sufficient.Gagaluv1 (talk) 18:10, 17 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I’ll implement that into the article. I’d also like to include a note saying "Charting is for the original" or something like that, as those were my two issues. Thanks! D🐶ggy54321 (let's chat!) 03:36, 18 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • In response to this, the solo version peaked at number two, not number four, according to Billboard. Hayman30 (talk) 04:34, 2 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Dedicated Side B edit

Hi there! If Dedicated Side B is a studio album, then why does it say it’s a companion album on the main article page? Doesn’t that seem like a discrepancy? Also, if it is a studio album, then why isn’t it listed on her artist page under discography? I have been told that multiple editors here have come to the consensus that it is a companion album, not a studio album. Because if it truly is a studio album, then it needs to be included in the discography section on her main article page. 2601:48:8100:9740:CD79:D42B:6C38:5D4F (talk) 04:19, 29 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

It is both. It is a studio album and a companion to Dedicated. However, "Companion album" isn't an official title so it goes in the studio album section. The confusion is whether this counts as her fifth studio album. It didn't get an extensive promo campaign or a separate tour, so we're avoiding officially numbering it until her next album is announced. If the official press release for her next album calls it her sixth we know that Side B officially counts as her fifth. If her next album is her fifth, then this is just a studio album outside of the main chronology. Does that make sense?Gagaluv1 (talk) 14:34, 29 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
I suppose that makes sense, but I’m just wondering why “companion album” can’t be considered an official title. There are other types of albums such as compilation and remix albums, so why exactly can’t we say that this is a type of album? 2601:48:8100:9740:CD79:D42B:6C38:5D4F (talk) 14:50, 29 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
Remix albums and compilation albums are official titles that describe specific things. "Companion album" is a loose term that could describe re-releases like The Fame Monster or whole different studio albums like Evermore. It's not a formal term or type of release.Gagaluv1 (talk) 14:55, 29 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
Idk, to me, the two examples you have aren’t examples or companion albums. I would consider The Fame Monster to be a re-release, and Evermore is simply a studio album. Just bc Evermore feels like a second act to Folklore doesn’t change the fact that it is its own separate album whose name doesn’t connect it to Folklore at all, whereas Dedicated Side B does connect it to Dedicated. 2601:48:8100:9740:CD79:D42B:6C38:5D4F (talk) 15:14, 29 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Also, when it comes to The Fame Monster, I’ve always considered that to be an EP that Gaga added on to The Fame, but I’ve always seen it as a separate EP, since it is sonically quite different than The Fame. 2601:48:8100:9740:CD79:D42B:6C38:5D4F (talk) 15:16, 29 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

That's exactly my point. Companion album is not a real term and could be applied to sequels, re-releases or anything you want.Gagaluv1 (talk) 15:29, 29 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
Idk, I would consider an album of B-sides to be a companion album, but only if it’s marked as such. For example, Taylor very well could’ve named Evermore “Folklore Side B”, but she didn’t, therefore it’s not a companion album to Folklore. That makes sense to me, but maybe it doesn’t to others, idk. 2601:48:8100:9740:CD79:D42B:6C38:5D4F (talk) 16:12, 29 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
If I may ask, currently the first sentence on Dedicated Side B says “Dedicated Side B is a companion album to Dedicated.” However, since you’re saying that companion album isn’t a real term, would it not be more appropriate to say “Dedicated Side B is a studio album by Carly Rae Jepsen. It is a companion album to Dedicated.”?2601:48:8100:9740:CD79:D42B:6C38:5D4F (talk) 16:19, 29 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Template:Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Template:Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Log/2014 July 13#Non-major Grammy Awards. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Creating navigational templates edit

Hello. Per WP:NENAN, which defines the informal "rule of five", please stop making navigational templates unless there are at least five topics by that artist to link to. This total does not include the artist's main article. "Related articles", which usually only include mere mentions of an artist at them and are usually only put in to "fill out" such templates, do not count. Thus, you should not have created Template:Lucy Dacus. Dacus does not have a discography page—you've merely linked to a section there—and by some users' definitions this should not be there either, so I have removed it. Thus, there are essentially two articles in that template. Much the same with Template:Dorian Electra. Before you create another one of these padded-out navigational templates, consider that per NENAN, not everything needs a navbox and you should not make one until there are five articles for that artist's own topics. Thank you. Ss112 19:55, 18 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add year spans to chart tables unless a new peak is achieved in that year edit

The year span in chart wikitables is for what year peaks were achieved. The tables are a list of peaks, not the years those songs have charted in. And when you do add a year span, it should be with an en dash between the years (2021–2022), not a hyphen (2021-2022). Please do not jump the gun in future. Thank you. January 2022 edit

Hello, I'm Ss112. I noticed that you made one or more edits to an article, Reputation (Taylor Swift album), concerning the updates of review statistics, box office numbers, sports statistics, or some other frequently updated data with a fixed web address, but you did not update the |access-date= parameter in the citation template. The |access-date= parameter is the full date when the content pointed to by the URL was last verified to be working and supporting the text being cited in the article. This means that the parameter needs to be updated whenever the content is updated. If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Dorian Electra edit

The fact that they were assigned female at birth is just as relevant as their parents' names and occupations, that they are Jewish, the schools they went to, the fact that they have ADHD, etc. There is no reason to treat this sourced information as any different from what else is in the article. ... discospinster talk 23:19, 28 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

It really isn't. It is useless trivia that is not the public's business. Noting what someone's genitals at birth were in an article is not relevant. All anyone needs to know about a trans person is their pronouns and gender identity if they choose to share it, not their past. Just because information is out there doesn't mean it needs to be broadcasted to the world and we should normalize someone's birth sex not being a point of discussion at all.Gagaluv1 (talk) 00:33, 29 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
Considering https://www.gaytimes.co.uk/amplify/dorian-electra-is-the-gender-fluid-pop-star-making-camp-cool-amplify/ they have referred to themselves as AFAB], they have chosen to share this information, and therefore it is as relevant as the rest of the article. ... discospinster talk 00:47, 29 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

You added Moana to the first paragraph of the lead and I reverted it saying this in the edit summary; I don't know if you missed it or ignored it on purpose, but I'm citing it again here anyway, because I reverted your latest (and the same) edit on the article. Labrinth discography edit

Your edits to this article were careless and you simply stopped editing when you shouldn't have been done yet. You added a chart column header, then added no content for that said column. What are you doing? Also, please learn now that I've told you that the other charted songs section is ordered by year that the song charted. Note it's not a singles section where we order by chronological order and year of release. This is a whole different section guided by the fact that the songs are not singles and merely charted. Putting 2019 for the Euphoria songs implies they charted upon release and it's misleading because you know as well as I do that they did not. If a song only started charting in a certain year, it should be added for that year. Please be more careful when editing pages. Don't leave tables with formatting errors that you caused. Check your edits. Also start leaving more edit summaries. Ss112 10:57, 18 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry I meant to finish it but I fell asleep before I could add the numbers. To be honest this is my first time editing while high and that was probably a stupid idea.Gagaluv1 (talk) 15:27, 18 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please at least summarize major edits edit

Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! KyleJoantalk 17:18, 20 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

People of the Pride edit

Coldplay literally released a Let Somebody Go single version today, it's clear that People of the Pride is just a promotional single, they're not even sending it to pop radio, but alternative. GustavoCza (talk) 22:05, 4 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

If you'd look at Wikipedia:Singles criteria, it does not matter what genre of radio the song is released to. Being released to a radio station confirmed by All Access is enough to be considered a single on its own.Gagaluv1 (talk) 22:06, 4 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
All Access is about America, why would that influence in the single choices of an European band? The world doesn't revolve around US. GustavoCza (talk) 04:28, 6 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Again, if you would actually read the criteria I linked, you would know that it doesn't matter if a single is only released in one territory, it's still a single.Gagaluv1 (talk) 12:39, 6 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Before creating any more navigational templates edit

I suggest you read WP:NENAN. There is an informal "rule of five" you should follow when considering creating a navigational template. Template:Dominic Fike only has four articles to link to besides his main article, which does not count. Unless an artist has five notable articles about their own projects to link to besides their main article, it probably does not need a template yet. I'm letting you know in case you find your templates nominated at TfD in future. I'm not sure if you've made templates like this previously, but if you have and have had myself or another editor tell you about this, then consider this is a reminder. Ss112 03:39, 16 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Also, if I come across another mess you've made, like on Zendaya discography, I'm reverting your edits outright. You seem content to leave discographies in some misformatted state with broken tables. Either ceck your edits when or directly after you make them. It's getting annoying. Ss112 03:44, 16 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Macy Rodman. June 2022 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Saves the World, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. KyleJoantalk 12:35, 28 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Do not edit war edit

Reverting me after my manual revert of you is edit warring, so I suggest you don't do that or I will send you a template warning next time. Your revert also changed "Released:" back to "Scheduled:", which you clearly didn't bother to change back or rectify, so that isn't helpful. I cited Apple Music, it says "Ryan Taylor" only. I don't know what you're talking about and I have no interest if you can't cite a source all editors can access on the page, not telling me in an edit summary what it says then not citing it on the page. Speedy deletion nomination of Scene Queen edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Scene Queen requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://sonichits.com/artist/Scene_Queen. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

OK so I'm very confused. I have never visited the website in question nor have I ever even heard of sonichits.com. Ways to improve Rising (Mxmtoon album) edit

Hello, Gagaluv1,

Thank you for creating Rising (Mxmtoon album).

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

The long direct quotes seem to take up almost as much of the article as any original prose. Would be great if you can rewrite some of the quotes in your own words instead. See WP:OVERQUOTE.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Bennv123}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you.

Please look at the discussion I started at Talk:Rebecca Black#Singles. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 01:19, 13 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add or change content, as you did at Little Simz, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. In this edit you added the UK R&B Albums peak for No Thank You but did not provide a source. I think you know at this point every UK chart that's not the main singles and albums charts needs a separate citation. You have never responded to any of the messages I've left here so I will now send you templates when you add unsourced material. Do better, there is no excuse when you have been a registered editor this long. Ss112 15:15, 19 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

February 2023 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Wet Leg, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Please don't replace citations with WP:BAREURLS Sciencefish (talk) 16:52, 7 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Rebecca Black. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you.

This is the second time we have been through this. Please read WP:EPTALK, and pay attention to the first bullet of this warning regarding content dispute. I made my argument that nobody has countered on other than revert because WP:JUSTDONTLIKEIT. Adding these songs does absolutely nothing to improve her article, it isn't even a full list (yes some are missing from the version you want included), If you want a full listing of her songs there are external links for that. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 18:47, 9 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

April 2023 edit

Please do not attack other editors. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. — Czello 18:52, 13 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Calling someone transphobic for including a trans person's deadname in an article against their wishes is not a personal attack, it is an accurate description of the behavior they are engaging in.Gagaluv1 (talk) 22:31, 13 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
It is an unambiguous personal attack, and given that you did it after reverting another user it's clear it was directed at them. Please read WP:AGF and WP:CIVIL. — Czello 07:50, 14 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Introduction to contentious topics edit

You have recently edited a page related to articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

You have recently made edits related to gender-related disputes or controversies or people associated with them. This is a standard message to inform you that gender-related disputes or controversies or people associated with them is a designated contentious topic. This message does not imply that there are any issues with your editing. For more information about the contentious topics system, please see Wikipedia:Contentious topics. Beccaynr (talk) 20:53, 11 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Gagaluv1, I'm glad you're interested in the gender-related disputes topic area, and I hope you stick around. Since it's so contentious, we really prefer that people discuss when their edits are reverted, rather than just re-revert. You'll see an open discussion (more than one, actually) at Talk:J. K. Rowling about how to discuss her views, and it would be helpful to start one at the Joyce book's talk page. Firefangledfeathers (talk / contribs) 17:25, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Black Butta edit

Hey! You say you do editing for RuPaul’s drag race? Even though this has nothing to do with her drag race show, her album "Black Butta" needs an article, now I tried to do something but I f-ed it up, and I think you know wayyy more than I do. And here's a random question... Are you a Little Monster (Lady Gaga fan) or a Kesha fan? LittleMonsterrrrrrr (talk) 11:06, 22 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello Kitty edit

I had added missing citation (which also doesn't have separate wiki page) for Hello Kitty Island Adventure
(though I missed pre-2000 Apple & old consoles except Nintendo DS which have fun cute games)
the other 2020s (only) game mentioned - Hello Kitty and Friends: Happiness Parade - (2022/2023) did have source cited
