File:HotChip-OneLifeStand.jpg edit

I have tagged File:HotChip-OneLifeStand.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Some examples can be found at Wikipedia:Use rationale examples. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/Non-free. Thank you. Seraphim 17:07, 24 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Image uploads edit

Hi there. As your talk page was very long, I've archived it for you, which you can do too if you like. The archive can be found here: /Archive 1. If you would like it put back the way it was, I'll happily change it back for you. I noticed you added an image to the One Life Stand article. Whilst your contribution is valued, there is a process we use that needs to be followed each time we upload a copyrighted image (like album or single covers). An image description that follows this system should look like this: File:Made in the dark.jpg. You can continue uploading copyrighted images but you will need to adhere to the following process:

  • Upload an image that is no bigger than 300px on any side
  • Add this template to the description: {{Non-free album cover}}
  • Add a fair use rationale: {{subst:Album cover article rationale|Article Title|Spin Boy 11}}
  • Add the source where you got the image from: "Image from: [url where found it]

You're already adding the source where you got the image and the licensing tag so it's really only the size of the image and the fair use rationale that are problematic. Image policies on wikipedia can be very confusing. If you would like any assistance, I will be happy to assist you or suggest places where you can receive assistance from someone else, if you prefer. If you would like to ask me anything please leave a message on my talk page. Season's Greetings to you! :) Seraphim 20:29, 27 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced BLPs edit

Hello Spin Boy 11! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 941 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Yorkie (musician) - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Jamie Murphy (Space guitarist) - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Thanks!--DASHBot (talk) 07:01, 17 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

this means if you don't reference the articles, they will be deleted soon. there is a biography of living persons purge in the works. I tried to find references for Yorkie (musician) but the name is so stupidly generic it is almost impossible. Dont ignore this notice, or the articles will be deleted. You are now a Reviewer edit

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 17:56, 19 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for File:TheBees-EveryStepsAYes.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:TheBees-EveryStepsAYes.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 13:05, 26 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Bright Idea (song) edit

The article Bright Idea (song) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not meet WP:NSONG criteria for separate article. Needs to be incorporated into the album's article.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. jsfouche ☽☾Talk 17:26, 27 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of On the Moon edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on On the Moon requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. serioushat 06:54, 2 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Wikilinks and genres edit

Hi, I noticed your edits here. You might want to take a look at WP:OVERLINK to get a sense for what should and shouldn't be wikilinked. In your edit above, you added wikilinks for months and years, which isn't helpful. I also noticed your additions of genre to Sanjay and Craig and here. Firstly, gross-out humor isn't a television genre. Secondly, any time you add a genre to an infobox, it should be clear from the context of the article, by sourced information, why that genre was added. We shouldn't be propagating the infoboxes with our personal interpretations of television/musical style. I also know that WikiProject Music is finicky about avoiding microgenre in articles, so you might want to double-check that the genres you are adding are suitable for the project and that they are supported by sourced content in the article. If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a line. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 20:15, 2 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Wikilinking edit

Hi, and thanks for your work on the English Wikipedia.

I noticed an article you worked on. Just a short note to point out that we don’t normally link:

  • dates
  • years
  • commonly known geographical terms (including well-known country-names), and
  • common terms you’d look up in a dictionary (unless significantly technical).

(This even applies for infoboxes.)

Thanks and my best wishes.

Non-free rationale for File:GetToHeaven.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:GetToHeaven.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Repost of Category:Triple albums edit

A tag has been placed on Category:Triple albums requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion process. Orphaned non-free image File:CTC-MakeThisYourOwn.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:CTC-MakeThisYourOwn.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Non-free rationale for File:BillyDilleytitlecard.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:BillyDilleytitlecard.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. AussieLegend () 08:24, 30 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:BillyDilleytitlecard.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:BillyDilleytitlecard.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. AussieLegend () 08:24, 30 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Glass Brother moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Glass Brother, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. SpongeBob sourcing edit

Hi, this is really late, but I've been wanting to ask you about your edits to the SpongeBob SquarePants article from last week - it's nice to see some new improvements to that page! I spent a lot of time a few years ago, correcting sections of the article that were improperly referenced, so I just wanted to double-check on your additions. I'm seeing where the "Oral History of SpongeBob SquarePants" source mentions storyboards being created on Post-it notes, but I did a "control +F" search for the term "storyboard" and didn't see anything in that source about storyboards being created digitally. I also didn't see anything about digital storyboards in the Brookshier interview, nor am I seeing anything in either source that could serve as the basis for the sentence, "Once the rough board is approved, a team of storyboard artists are brought in to clean up the director's drawings and enhance certain expressions and gags for the design and layout stage.".

Do you remember which sections of the sources you based those statements on? Again, sorry that I wasn't able to ask about this sooner (it's been a crazy week). --Jpcase (talk) 14:10, 7 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hey - since I never heard back from you, I finally went ahead and removed those statements from the article. If you ever have the time to check on where you found that information though, then feel free to restore your version of the "Writing" section. Just leave a note for me, explaining where the information came from. What you had was really well-written and seems likely to be accurate, so I didn't want to have to remove anything. But I need to make sure that everything in the article is properly sourced. Thanks. --Jpcase (talk) 14:32, 29 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
Hey - what's going on? I had hoped to hear back from you at some point, but you never responded.
I see that you've re-added some of this information back into the SpongeBob article. But you just used one of the same sources as last time, and it's still unclear to me whether that source actually contains any basis for the information that you've been adding. If you're getting this information from somewhere else and don't know how to add proper sourcing, then let me know, and I can help you out. I'm not trying to give you a hard time. What you wrote is pretty good, and I'd like to include it in the article. But I need to make sure that any new information added to the SpongeBob article is sourced properly. --Jpcase (talk) 17:49, 6 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Harry Merry edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Harry Merry requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. — Tulsi Bhagat (contribs | talk) 14:06, 13 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Schlagenheim edit

The article Schlagenheim has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

no evidence of notability

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Look Around You edit

The inclusion of early 1980s features - such as the 1981 Top of the Pops theme tune - disprove your 'late 1970s' theory. There is also the Prince of Wales award scheme (1980s) and the hint of the discovery of a new disease (the early 1980s = AIDS). Please provide reliable citations before making edits.

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Velocity : Design : Comfort. This is my final plea for you to source your edits. Several other editors have done the same but to no avail. You seem to think WP:V doesn't apply to you. Let's see if admin at WP:ANI agree with you. You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abuse of editing privileges.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Jayron32 16:41, 19 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
I have blocked this account because, despite an astronomical number of warnings and requests to discuss your edits, especially those edits where you do not provide any sources of information, you have never acknowledged those warnings, discussed your behavior with anyone, or showed any signs that you intend to abide by Wikipedia policy by modifying your editing in response to this warnings. If and when you respond to myself here, or make any indication that you intend to do the following two things:
  1. Acknowledge the receipt of all warnings and respond directly to any person who asks you a question or makes a comment regarding your behavior.
  2. To agree to avoid adding substantive new information to Wikipedia articles without sources.
If you can agree to that, I or another admin can unblock this account. --Jayron32 16:41, 19 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Fictional cat and dog duos edit

A tag has been placed on Category:Fictional cat and dog duos requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

Liz Read!
