Wolverine Million Award

  The Million Award
For your contributions to bring The Wolverine (film) (estimated annual readership: 4,124,976) to Good Article status, I hereby present you the Million Award. Congratulations on this rare accomplishment, and thanks for all you do for Wikipedia's readers! -- Bobnorwal (talk) 00:43, 3 January 2014 (UTC)

Nice job! I hope nobody else has given you this award for this article already. Also, have you received this award for any of your other articles yet? I haven't looked into it, but I'm guessing that many of them are highly trafficed and are eligible for this award. Let me know if you're interested. Again, awesome job. I love to see highly viewed articles reach GA. Bobnorwal (talk) 00:43, 3 January 2014 (UTC)

Thank you! I have received others but not for this article. Still I'm very grateful for the recognition, we put a lot of hard work into it.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 02:40, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
No thank yous necessary. You deserve it. :) Too bad it isn't more...
And btw... "We"? Are you saying there are other other users who put work into that article and therefore should receive this award too? If you just point 'em out to me, I'll dole it out to them. I don't want anyone to feel passed over. Bobnorwal (talk) 04:21, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
Well yes, nothing in Wikipedia is done alone. This is everyone who worked on it. I'm not sure how the award works but maybe atleast the top contributors deserve recognition.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 11:34, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
I love the feeling that I can be sure the majority of our new comic book movies are in good hands. I never worked on that one probably because of that confidence of editors like you handling it. Not to mention that I was inactive at a lot of those times. I kind of wish I was responsible on having a hand on this one, though. But I wasn't. But yeah I am definitely thankful for editors like you, TriiipleThreat. Also I watched the movie too...and I kind of liked it. ;) Jhenderson 777 14:13, 3 January 2014 (UTC)

Peggy Carter

It is the common image of her. That's why I added it. This is a older image of her. Do you prefer it? Jhenderson 777 16:20, 10 January 2014 (UTC)

There may be some older image in this source. That I can't get into when actually clicking on them. Jhenderson 777 16:30, 10 January 2014 (UTC)
There is always a way though. Definitely with Google images. Here is one of the images Jhenderson 777 16:34, 10 January 2014 (UTC)
Well. Thank goodness for Imgur. The second one looks kind of nice. Are these from her original comic she was introduced in? Jhenderson 777 16:50, 10 January 2014 (UTC)
I want you take a look at this this and this. They all contradict each other. Where is a reliable source for these claims? I am assuming that Marvel link I linked might be. Jhenderson 777 19:09, 10 January 2014 (UTC)
BTW. Yes I like the image. Go for it, dude. If you like it. Also you may change the story to it's correct story when realizing the real story. Remember I still have a Marvel url that I haven't used yet that is more reliable than any wiki. Jhenderson 777 19:27, 10 January 2014 (UTC)

You know I remember watching this story that you linked on. Not reading it. Watching it on here on the first Captain America episode. I never really realized how accurate to the comics that story is. It's a spitting image. If that "Agent 13" really is Peggy Carter in the comic books. Then we need to point out that she was in that series in the in other media section. Jhenderson 777 19:47, 10 January 2014 (UTC)

BTW. Some of what the user GetmeoutaHere seems questionable. He removed Peggy Carter on the Captain America navbox (which I reverted) and he removed a category on Peggy Carter with no explanation (which I didn't revert). Was he right on doing that? Jhenderson 777 19:59, 10 January 2014 (UTC)
Ah. I'd have to go back to my longboxes and pull out issues to be certain, but as I recall, Peggy first appeared in World War II flashbacks in Tales of Suspense, and when Sharon Carter was introduced in modern-day stories, Stan & Jack eventually said Sharon was Peggy's niece. I just took a glance at the the Peggy article and it seems to say that already, but maybe there are details like issue numbers that need to be double-checked. I'll give it a look.
Yeah, brother, just between you and me, I've been reading this stuff since Fantastic Four #66, "What Lurks Within the Beehive?" Blew me away, especially when the monster with the New York accent knocked his friend to the floor and stormed off. Wow, what IS this???!   : )   --Tenebrae (talk) 20:06, 10 January 2014 (UTC)
I have added her Comic Vine link, but we need everyone to add references of her adventures in the fictional character biography that I have started. Rtkat3 (talk) 11:37, January 10 2014 (UTC)

Dr. Strange

Is there anything being "prepped" (use that loosely) for this film at all (or anywhere)? Just in light of the Johnny Depp story today. I know Fandraltastic had user pages a while back for some potential films. Just wondering if there was somewhere where any development information was being cultured. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 23:10, 14 January 2014 (UTC)

@Favre1fan93: I started a draft article at Draft:Doctor Strange (film).--TriiipleThreat (talk) 14:39, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

Awesome! I'm so glad they made that new article type. So handy! I just figured that it would be beneficial to have at least this one in the drafting phase, as it's the next film we have that is closest to be the next released film. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:22, 17 January 2014 (UTC)
Theres also Draft:Black Panther (film), which could prove to be a little more as a lot the references are offline.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 21:36, 18 January 2014 (UTC)

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.-related

Hi, I heard that you have helped to create the character page for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. I have seen your recent revert where it removed my addition for Christine Adams' character from last night's episode. Isn't the page supposed to be used for the histories of those who didn't appear in the comics and a way to sort S.H.I.E.L.D. from Project Centipede and the guest characters? Even I don't know how long before someone comes up with plans to make pages for Phil Coulson's team like they have made Phil Coulson's team in the past. Once we have learned the identity of the "Clairvoyant," the bio of the identity of the Clairvoyant will be added. So what do you think of this show so far? Rtkat3 (talk) 11:44, January 15 2014 (UTC)

Sorry, I readded the Adams character, it accidentally got thrown out with the bath water. The problem I had was the in-universe details which should be kept to a minimum. Episode plots are copy-protected material even in the form of character descriptions so we only use just enough to give a very basic understanding of the character. As for the show itself, I am pretty disappointed by it. The writing and the performances are pretty weak. It has the potential to be so much better but I still tune in every week.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 17:01, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
Although we do have some detail on what happened to Phil Coulson the day after he was killed by Loki, I am surprised that Ian Quinn had connections to the "Clairvoyant." Though Donnie Gill developing cryogenesis was similar to what happened to Blizzard in the comics during the Infinity storyline where he turned out to have been a descendant of an Inhuman (the Inhuman descendant discovery is the main plot of the Inhumanity storyline and near the end of the Infinity storyline). Do you think we should have anyone in S.H.I.E.L.D. and Project Centipede sorted from the characters just like how Phil Coulson's team is sorted from the rest of the characters (this was done before it was reverted)? Also, they did say an important character from Marvel Comics is going to be appearing in one of the upcoming episodes. Rtkat3 (talk) 12:37, January 15 2013 (UTC)
Not yet, the list of guest characters is so short that its not needed. If it grows to an unmanageable length, then we can revisit it.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 18:25, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
Perhaps we can give it until the end of Season One. Rtkat3 (talk) 1:27, January 15 2014 (UTC)

User:TreCoolGuy/Iron Man trilogy

Hello Triiiple after seeing that Iron Man in film will most likely be merged into Iron Man in other media. I'm going to try to make a Iron Man trilogy page which I originally had in mind. Here's the page User:TreCoolGuy/Iron Man trilogy. - TreCoolGuy (talk) 18 January 2013

Just a note, TreCoolGuy, that a page like that doesn't really have a purpose either. You're basically taking the page that is going to be merged, and just removing the animated information. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 03:23, 19 January 2014 (UTC)

Seems like you were already reverted. I'm not that familiar with WP:TV practices but if its true that they do not generally give episode numbers before it airs then I would go there for support.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 20:03, 24 January 2014 (UTC)
No worries. As far as I'm aware (which I believe is practice), it is better to be more ambiguous (saying "future" rather than a number), as, for example, the 15th episode can get pushed sooner or later. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 20:28, 24 January 2014 (UTC)

Some help

Hey Triiiple. I know you are super busy like I am, but if you have a moment, could you possibly help out a bit at Transformers: Age of Extinction? I went to the page yesterday, and it was in really bad shape. Unreliable sources, information not useful to the page and poor formatting galore. Anyways, I did away with all of that and now the page is void of a lot of sources. So could you either a) help find one or two sources to add to cover content; b) add new content from any source you find; or c) (this one I'd like you to do, if you don't mind, as you are good and at) since the film had a spot in the Super Bowl, adding commentary to the clip that is appropriate? Again, I know you're busy elsewhere here and in real life, so whatever you can do is much appreciated. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:49, 3 February 2014 (UTC)

Sure, I'll look it over though I'm better with films, whose productions I have been following.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 01:50, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
Same. I'm kind of heading into a crapshoot, but as what I consider a high profile film, the page was bad. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 02:48, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
Thanks! - Favre1fan93 (talk) 01:33, 5 February 2014 (UTC)

MCU character page scope

Just wanted you to know that I believe I solved the scope issue for character appearances with the table. I don't have the time at the moment to implement it in my sandbox, but just wanted you to know, and that I'll link my sandbox here when I do complete it. I've been thinking about it most of last night and today, and I think it's plausible, would be easy to follow, and take all the opinions you've previously expressed before into consideration. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 21:54, 8 February 2014 (UTC)

Here it is. I know we are still a bit off from when this will be an issue, but I wanted to have an idea of what to do. This is the only way I could think of that we could incorporate this info without completely changing the existing format. In the notes at the top of each section, I bolded the added superscripts I created. Note the placement of them in the actor boxes, after the ref. With the years for everything, this should hopefully be clear. Or it could just send readers on a wild connect the dots game. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 07:02, 9 February 2014 (UTC)
It looks good but I think we've shown with List of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. characters that a standalone list for the show is independently notable, so probably would any other show and definitely any group of shows like the Netflix series. Also it soon may require its own list after awhile anyway due to WP:SPLIT.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 07:28, 9 February 2014 (UTC)
Yes. I just brought what I had thought of for the TV series to just give you a visual. But as I said, adding those new superscripts to the right of the actor name, was the only way I could think to fulfill this need. And if we do move forward with the concept, the logistics and technical stuff can all be worked out. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:13, 9 February 2014 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Wow congrats Tenebrae! I'm trying to think of something if you don't mind and see this. How about how they felt entering this already established universe, and if they were still able to create the film they wanted, or if there were steered in a certain direction to hit certain "universe tying" points? (I don't think this has been covered for them.) - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:24, 12 February 2014 (UTC)
Also maybe something on the music ideas they gave to Jackman for the film, as that section is lacking on the page. Thank you if you do get these, and enjoy the interview! - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:27, 12 February 2014 (UTC)

Upcoming MCU films

I just wanted you to know that I prepped sections in my sandbox here for quick addition whenever Doctor Strange, Cap 3 or Thor 3 get released. I just have to change them now to include the recent changes I did to the "Other projects" section, which by the way, needs ref archiving. Also, thanks for undoing my addition on the MCU page about Doctor Strange. As I was working on my large edit, I had a feeling it didn't belong. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 07:49, 21 February 2014 (UTC)

I feel the "Other potential projects" section is getting a bit long, is there anything we can do to shorten it up?--TriiipleThreat (talk)|
I was also thinking about this. Some ideas: additional bold headings or subsections; move the Nov 2013 and Feb 2014 Feige statements to development; use hat notes; actually create the subsections for Dr. Strange, Cap 3, Thor 3. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 20:26, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
I thinking more along the lines of curbing some info, my question was related to what we can curb. This is just an overview article, more of specific details should be housed at the target articles of the redirects anyway.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 20:28, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
Doh! I forgot to write remove some info. So here's what I think, by paragraph: The first paragraph can go; second can stay; remove the Hulk info in the third, as that should stay on TIH page; remove Pearce Runaway info from the fourth, I'm questioning the Black Panther info too, maybe move the Nov 2013 up to development; remove Black Widow info in final paragraph, but leave the quote regarding mimicking the comics. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 20:47, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
I agree about the Runaways as it has been officially shelved. The rest is trickier. A specific info about a potential project is alright maybe we can remove any vague references.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 21:52, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
Yeah it's difficult to figure out what to possibly cut. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 00:05, 22 February 2014 (UTC)

Topics

Just now I noticed that thanks to you, The Wolverine is already a GA (though I might still add Blu-Ray stuff later to make it truly comprehensive) and now I have more reasons than ever to stop being lazy and improve X-Men: The Last Stand and restore this topic to form. And on the other hand, I just made Iron Man 3 pass - any plans regarding Thor: The Dark World (of which I still have to watch the extras) so a Marvel Cinematic Universe topic can also get finished? igordebraga 15:51, 3 March 2014 (UTC)

Thank you, nominating Thor:TDW is on my very soon to be done list. I still have to have to watch the extras too. Also the MCU article has already been nominated but nobody has reviewed yet.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 16:05, 3 March 2014 (UTC)

Avengers/Iron Man 3

Hello, I started a talk page discussion on the list of Paramount Pictures films page. About adding Avengers and Iron man 3 to the page. Thanks for reading this message and have a good day. – TreCoolGuy (talk) 3, March 2014 (UTC)

DYK input

If you have a sec, can you weigh in on the DYK nominated for Iron Man 3? Not looking for you to review it, just help decide the best hook to use. A discussion is here and the nom is here. Thanks. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 20:52, 5 March 2014 (UTC)

Saving Mr. Banks

There is a discussion currently underway at Talk:Saving Mr. Banks#Inaccuracies, that includes another editor and myself. Since the issue in question has led to an edit war on the related page, I am attempting to gather a third, neutral opinion on the subject, in hopes of reaching a resolution. Your input will be appreciated. Thank you, ~ Jedi94 (Want to tell me something?) 22:41, 7 March 2014 (UTC)

MCU cast ordering

Per the discussion on ThorTDW, I have been working on a modification to what I wrote up on the GotG talk page, when we were having issues with Diesel and Cooper's placement. Do you think we should work on this, and make a subpage to Marvel Cinematic Universe, (linked by WP:MCUCAST) to point back to when these issue keep coming up? - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:09, 9 March 2014 (UTC)

You can try but it wouldn't carry anymore weight than an WP:ESSAY.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 20:23, 9 March 2014 (UTC)

Discussion

Since you've recently participated in a related discussion at this article's talk page, I'd like to alert you that there is a secondary discussion at Saving Mr. Banks currently underway. This time, a consensus is being attempted to be reached, regarding the placement of one of the article's sections. Your input will be greatly appreciated. Cap / Russo

Hi, Triiip, and it is always, always good to hear from you. Yeah, I can see your point that the other brother was looking forward and was closer to the border. Why don't I do this, in order to satisfy both the alternating guideline and the new-and-bothersome don't-put-picture-at-subhead-left guideline: Move the image back to the left but down on paragraph? How does that sound? Also, as long as I'm here anyway and you edit movie articles, perhaps you could weigh in at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chlotrudis Society for Independent Film?

Also, since we;re talking about the new movie: It's better than Iron Man 3 and Thor 2, in my book. Here are some things you'll find interesting that involve no spoilers whatsoever: A museum scene refers to "Captain America's Howling Commandos". officially naming that group; "Stephen Strange" gets mentioned in passing; the character is called "Rumlow," first name unrevealed, no mention of Crossbones; Mackie's character is called Falcon, which is the name of the suit, though calling him "the Falcon" doesn't seem unreasonable. And despite what Hayley Atwell said, she's in the movie. With best regards, Tenebrae (talk) 16:20, 12 March 2014 (UTC)

No, you're right, there is some style thing somewhere saying that images should alternate when possible. Anyway, I can go ahead and move that image now if you haven't already done so. --Tenebrae (talk) 16:44, 12 March 2014 (UTC)

Concern is clarity and source

Hey there, Threat. Look, I have faith in Wikipedians good intention, but not in the appropriateness of their action. You see, when I trouble myself as to go ahead and put a {{confusing}} tag on an article and say "it is not clear as to what that and this means", well, that's because not only it does not seem clear, it is unclear to an irritating degree. Writing an edit summary that reads "it is clear" doesn't make it any clearer. It might be clear to you; not to me.

Hopefully, a source can bring clarity. Fleet Command (talk) 12:07, 15 March 2014 (UTC)

Thank you, for responding. However, "confusing" is a pretty vague term and considering you were the first person to express being confused since the table was included sometime ago, it seems the confusion was mostly on you. Now "citation needed" is direct and impersonal. It seems the "confusing" tag was confusing. Also it helps to start a discussion on the talk page to go along with the tag.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 12:31, 15 March 2014 (UTC)
Maybe. But if I take it to talk page, mostly I repeat the |reason= section of my {{confusing}} with a "Greetings" and a "~~~~". Again I don't mean to imply bad faith in you, but experience tells me that the sentence "take the issue to talk page" is a delaying tactic, whereby the discussion is taken to talk page and dies there without a reply. (So, I have to say I am sorry for those who say it in good faith.) Same experience tells me that the useful version of this sentence is "see talk page". In most cases the reviewer has acknowledged the question (although I am not saying he has understood) and posted a reply there. (Now the reply can be: "It means such and such" or "How do you mean?") Trailers

Hey, do you know when the MCU film pages started including extensive coverage of trailers? I only just noticed it, and it all seems pretty superfluous. Wasn't there a policy against it? -Fandraltastic (talk) 20:09, 22 March 2014 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) General mention of trailers are not allowed per WP:FILMMARKETING. However, if commentary is provided for it, then it can be included. I believe that any on the MCU pages fall within this guideline and are acceptable. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 20:15, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
Hmm. It seems like the info on the Thor 2/Cap 2 pages is little more than a source's description of the trailer, while FILMMARKETING say that it should be info about "a trailer's intended effect or the audience's reported reaction to it". The example given has to do with audience buzz. -Fandraltastic (talk) 20:25, 22 March 2014 (UTC)

@Fandraltastic and Favre1fan93: Another problem I've noticed is that the reviews of these trailers have really lengthened the marketing sections of some articles, particularly CA:TWS. Perhaps if we paraphrased these reviews, we cut the overall length of the section.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 19:17, 27 March 2014 (UTC)

I'd be fine with that. You've always taken the lead on adding that info to the pages, so I trust your changes and judgement. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 20:11, 27 March 2014 (UTC)
I just think that a lot (if not all) of that stuff needs to be removed, most of it is just describing the trailers. It was certainly added in good faith but it's exactly the kind of material that the guideline was presumably created to prevent. It's mostly fluff and it's putting undue weight on specific marketing material, without any real-world audience-related context. The Thor 2 and Cap 2 pages in particular. -Fandraltastic (talk) 20:56, 27 March 2014 (UTC)
The guideline doesn't forbid trailer info per se it was designed to curb the bare listing of trailers. The reception of trailers plays directly into its "intended effect". Perhaps we could remove some of the unintended fluff like the source's description. I believe there is enough content out there to due this properly.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 21:22, 27 March 2014 (UTC)
Yes, some of the information about number of downloads/views, where the trailer played and how much buzz it generated would be good. It's mostly the trailer "reviews" that seem superfluous to me. -Fandraltastic (talk) 21:30, 27 March 2014 (UTC)
All of that is good, but information regarding the trailer's reception is also relevant.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 21:43, 27 March 2014 (UTC)

An exciting month of wiki events!

Hello there,

I am pleased to say that April will be a very exciting month for Wikipedia in Washington, DC. We have a lot of different events coming up, so you will have a lot to choose from.

First, a reminder that our second annual Women in the Arts Edit-a-Thon will take place on Sunday, March 30 at the National Museum of Women in the Arts.

Coming up in April, we have our first-ever Open Government WikiHack with the Sunlight Foundation on April 5–6! We are working together to use open government data to improve the Wikimedia projects, and we would love your help. All are welcome, regardless of coding or editing experience. We will also be having a happy hour the day before, with refreshments courtesy of the Sunlight Foundation.

On Friday, April 11 we are having our first edit-a-thon ever with the Library of Congress. The Africa Collection Edit-a-Thon will focus on the Library's African and Middle East Reading Room. It'll be early in the morning, but it's especially worth it if you're interested in improving Wikipedia's coverage of African topics.

The following day, we are having our second annual Wiki Loves Capitol Hill training. We will discuss policy issues relevant to Wikimedia and plan for our day of outreach to Congressional staffers that will take place during the following week.

There are other meetups in the works, so be sure to check our meetup page with the latest. I hope to see you at some of these events!

All the best,
James Hare

Discussion on a source for comics articles

Hi. Your opinion could be very useful in this discussion. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 12:49, 4 April 2014 (UTC)

Declined speedy

I declined the page deletion at Ant-Man (film), mostly because you didn't show what page you wanted to move there. I usually don't like to delete page histories unless I can see what I'm deleting it for, since sometimes the page to be moved might not pass notability guidelines. I tried looking at your edit history, but didn't immediately see the page to be moved. Just let me know which page it is and I'll move it. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:27, 7 April 2014 (UTC)

@Tokyogirl79: We want to move Development of Ant-Man back there. It was originally there before someone moved it without discussion. Once back, we can have a proper page move request or not seeing that the person who moved it, now says it was a mistake.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 05:43, 7 April 2014 (UTC)

Funny

"an article about large hammers in general" ... that was a seriously funny line! I love dry humor! --Tenebrae (talk) 20:54, 7 April 2014 (UTC)

Thanks :) --TriiipleThreat (talk) 21:02, 7 April 2014 (UTC)
I agree; I think it's clear he was a member of HYDRA, since he was working with the HYDRA-retained Winter Soldier, etc. The reason I wrote "compromised" is that Rumlow concurrently was a member of SHIELD, and I couldn't figure out a simple way of saying, "a SHIELD agent who was among those working for HYDRA." (I think the phrase "a SHIELD agent working for HYDRA" suggests he's just a specific one, and not that it's widespread.) I'm certainly up for any clearer way of stating it than "compromised"! --Tenebrae (talk) 16:10, 8 April 2014 (UTC)
D'oh! Of course — "double agent" is the exact, perfect, specific description. See, this is why I always cherish a good editor! --Tenebrae (talk) 17:45, 8 April 2014 (UTC)
And you're very kind to say so. Likewise from me: You're one of the best editors I've ever seen on the movie pages. I mean that completely. --Tenebrae (talk) 19:24, 9 April 2014 (UTC)

Dr. Strange source

Could you let me know what you think about this source for adding some history to the Dr. Strange draft? Specifically it is the info on the script that Alex Cox and Stan Lee wrote, which is actually posted on Cox's website, along with a nice blurb on his website. I couldn't really find anything else that seemed reliable, but as this attempt got pretty far, I think it should be included in the development section. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 05:24, 16 April 2014 (UTC)

I would say GeeksofDoom is weakly reliable at best. Their executive editor does appear to have some professional credentials (Guitar World, Maximum Guitar, High Times) but their "contributors" do not appear to be professional journalists.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 13:42, 16 April 2014 (UTC)
That was my feeling. Any chance you could see if you could find this info reliably, or could the two primary sources work? - Favre1fan93 (talk) 14:15, 16 April 2014 (UTC)
I would imagine this issue of SFX has some valuable information. But with the lack of secondary sources I think the primary examples would be acceptable.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 14:48, 16 April 2014 (UTC)

Marvel One-Shots

Hey. I think I'm really close to having this page ready for GA nomination. My main concern is rearchiving the sources, because I had done most of them when archive.is was still valid. Would you mind/have the time to help in this final stretch? I believe all that has to happen is rearchiving, a good copy edit, and then formatting/placing the pictures that I just added to the page. Thanks! - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:31, 21 April 2014 (UTC)

Sure, I'll be glad to. Give me a couple days though as I'm pretty busy right now.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 18:24, 21 April 2014 (UTC)
No rush. I'm pretty swamped with end of the semester work myself. Just trying to chip away here and there, hopefully within the month. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 19:35, 21 April 2014 (UTC)

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

Hey hey :) Quick question, why the redirect of the The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies? All the other films (An Unexpected Journey and The Desolation of Smaug have their own pages and isn't the BofFA done filming? LADY LOTUSTALK 19:08, 24 April 2014 (UTC)

@Lady Lotus: Because there isn't enough specific information on that film yet. I suggest developing it at Draft:The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies for now.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 19:11, 24 April 2014 (UTC)

I'm surprised there isn't one for it already, with how crazed editors get about the cult favorites :) LADY LOTUSTALK 19:13, 24 April 2014 (UTC)
There have been attempts and even the other individual film articles were slow to create as there was one production for all three films. The individual articles mostly just deal with the plot, cast, marketing and reception (stuff too early for The Battle of the Five Armies).--TriiipleThreat (talk) 19:20, 24 April 2014 (UTC)

Two edit-a-thons coming up!

Note

Hey Triiiple. I just wanted to let you know that I'm starting to get some suspicions that User:Longshot45 is a sock of TreCoolGuy. I know you were not really involved with dealing with him, only encountering his edits on Marvel pages and the like, but I'd just like you to be aware of this. (My suspicions are based on two sandboxes they are creating, and their general contributions to pages similar to Tre.) Thanks. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 01:24, 9 May 2014 (UTC)

If that's the case, you may wish to request a sockpuppet investigation.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 10:42, 9 May 2014 (UTC)
I know. Just wanted you aware. But on their talk, they replied to you (meant for me) that they are Tre, so no question now, and it has been reopened at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/TreCoolGuy. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 14:46, 9 May 2014 (UTC)
I put an Alternate Account on my talk page and my account page. This is not a sock puppet account, i am not using my TreCoolGuy account, haven't used it in awhile. I'm just trying to become a better editor on Wikipedia start over with a new account, new everything and not being constantly reminded that Tre isn't the most corroporated user on wiki. Thats why I did this. - Longshot45 (talk) 9 May 2014 (UTC)
I have just responded on the SPI page, but using that template is invalid and you are in violation of the bullet "Clean start under a new name" at WP:SOCK#LEGIT. Full details/explanation on that page. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 21:59, 9 May 2014 (UTC)

Meet up with us

Happy May!

  • Or if you prefer a Saturday night dinner gathering, we also have our May Meetup at Capitol City Brewing Company. (Beer! Non-beer things too!)
  • You are also invited to the Federal Register edit-a-thon at the National Archives later this month.

Question

Hey, just wanted your input on something. Do you think this image is better than the Comic-Con image currently on the Iron Man 2 page? It's significantly higher-res but there's a glare. -Fandraltastic (talk) 03:55, 12 May 2014 (UTC)

Why not use both? One in cast section and one in the marketing section. Also you can use Template:Wide image if the image is too large.--TriiipleThreat (talk)|
Good point, thanks. I actually cropped out some of the individual pics of the actors and placed them in cast section. Cheers. -Fandraltastic (talk) 02:17, 13 May 2014 (UTC)

Image size

Sometimes I feel it is best to let the bots reduce the images as they do it best. But no problem if the normal users do it themselves. Also, I think it is best that File:Batman v Superman logo.jpg will look good at exactly 400 pixels, because that is how the poster of Skyfall (this) is scaled. So how about it? Kailash29792 (talk) 18:53, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

First thanks for your earlier edit and now engaging in discussion. You've done a good job on the article by the way. But to the point WP:NFC says "Images should be rescaled as small as possible to still be useful as identified by their rationale, and no larger." The image is as legible at 300px as at 400px. Besides this seems to be standard maximum for these types of files including; File:Ant-Man logo.jpg and File:Avengers Age of Ultron logo.jpg.--TriiipleThreat (talk * comment on List of Marvel Cinematic Universe films FL nomination) 19:03, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
Done now it is at 400 × 270 pixels, which is good for a landscape image (as a portrait image, it will look 270 × 400 pixels). Kailash29792 (talk) 19:08, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
@Kailash29792: I'm confused, if 300px is as useful as 400px why scale it up?--TriiipleThreat (talk * comment on List of Marvel Cinematic Universe films FL nomination) 19:19, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
This poster's current resolution is perfect when viewed from both portrait and landscape modes. I wish to maintain the same for B vs S image as well. Kailash29792 (talk) 19:30, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
Very well. Though they should be as small as possible, I'm not going fret over a hundred pixels.----TriiipleThreat (talk * comment on List of Marvel Cinematic Universe films FL nomination) 19:52, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
@Kailash29792: Ugh, it seems the edit warrior has now started at File:Batman v Superman logo.jpg.--TriiipleThreat (talk * comment on List of Marvel Cinematic Universe films FL nomination) 20:46, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

Laura Haddock

Do we consider Comic Book Movie a reliable source? It has the information too, and a video with an interview of her. Corvoe (speak to me) 15:49, 27 May 2014 (UTC)

@Corvoe: No, but Diabolique is a legit horror publication. CBM relies on user-submitted information and should not sourced directly. However, they do often link to other sources which we can use.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 16:00, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
Actually I just watched the video, it does not name the character, or mention being Quill's mother.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 16:09, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
I hadn't actually watched the video, I just assumed. Apologies for that! I'll leave out the information until it's confirmed. Corvoe (speak to me) 16:11, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
(talk page stalker)The video is fine, she just doesn't confirm the part. It's towards the very end, and she just says she had a role in the film. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:15, 27 May 2014 (UTC)
Gotcha. Apologies for restoring it before asking everyone, especially since I didn't have the chance to watch it (I'm currently in class). Corvoe (speak to me) 16:18, 27 May 2014 (UTC)

Daredevil

Now that Daredevil has a star and a premise, I was thinking of moving the draft to article space soon. And with that move, I think the List of Marvel Cinematic Universe television series page could be made as well. I've been working on it in my sandbox here. I'd love to have you take a look at it/help me get it ready for the mainspace if you have the chance. Once that list page is made, the two series over view tables can be transcluded to the main page, with a small paragraph, such as with the One-Shots. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 03:53, 28 May 2014 (UTC)

It seems somebody already beat you to it. But to answer your question, I am not overly familiar with WP:TV notability guidelines. If they are anything like film it wouldn't be notable until production begins and with 8 used sources, I'm not sure it would meet WP:GNG.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 12:38, 28 May 2014 (UTC)
Well they didn't even move the draft, so I had to go in and meld the two. This falls withing the guidelines for TV, but I don't know about GNG. But anyways, if you could check out what I'm doing in my sandbox and help at all, that'd be appreciated. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 15:24, 28 May 2014 (UTC)
If you think it fails the project's guidleines, then I would redirect it. If not, you can ask an admin to preform a WP:HISTMERGE. As for the draft itself: what is there looks pretty good.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 15:32, 28 May 2014 (UTC)
It's about the same amount of info as Agent Carter (TV series), so we are okay. And thanks for the opinion on my sandbox draft. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 18:02, 28 May 2014 (UTC)

Thanos

According to this article from The Wrap, it specifically states that Josh Brolin will provide his voice for Thanos in Guardians of the Galaxy.Richiekim (talk) 20:34, 30 May 2014 (UTC)

@Richiekim: The Wrap article seems like it might be a better source, since it is more detailed and contains info about A:AoU. So lets go with that one.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 20:44, 30 May 2014 (UTC)
The Variety source Latino review for Guardians just says he is providing the voice, but Variety says 'plays'. Is it possible someone else is doing the motion capture, as was indicated until this announcement? Should we change the wording on the Guardians and List of films page? - Favre1fan93 (talk) 21:49, 30 May 2014 (UTC)
I would assume that is definitely a major possibility considering where there are at in production. But for now, we should just state what we know.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 21:58, 30 May 2014 (UTC)

Opinion needed

Hey Triiiple. I would like your opinion on the eventual overview tables for the List of MCU television series page, which would be transcluded on the main page. You can see what I currently have in this sandbox for them individually (disregard the missing/improper info in the Netflix one), and how it appears as transclusion in this one. So what I'd like your opinion on is, what info should be in these tables? I was looking back at your initial idea for these, and wanted to know if DVD/Blu-ray info would be better to include in these tables than the rating info, and save that for a separate table, to eventually only have on the television series page? My thinking of transcluding the two together is that, Netflix doesn't really release viewership data, so we won't get that data like we will for the ABC series, yet, all will have the DVD/Blu-ray info (assuming). Let me know what you feel, and I'll get to reformatting them. I'm leaning towards adding the DVD/Blu-ray info to help with the transcluding, and to have that info briefly on the List page. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 21:54, 2 June 2014 (UTC)

@Favre1fan93: Actually I like your tables much better. However I would get rid of the Cast and characters section. As you know AoS has its own list as I am sure AC will as well. Since the Netflix series will be interconnected, it might make sense to have one combined list for those series.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 12:32, 3 June 2014 (UTC)
Thank you for liking the new table format! Do you think having the ratings info is okay though, because the Netflix ones won't really have that? And I can put aside the Cast table, though, I think that is the best format to do it if we ever do. I do believe there will be more crossover between the characters in the show than we are thinking, but I can readd the prose I had there until a connecting table might be appropriate. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 18:46, 3 June 2014 (UTC)
Hmm, I hadn't thought about that. Looking at other Netflix original series articles: House of Cards (U.S. TV series) and Orange Is the New Black use a similar summary table to the one I originally proposed with the DVD release dates, and Arrested Development (TV series) (whose first three seasons premiered on network television and final season premiered on Netflix) doesn't use summary tables. So we can either use different tables for the ABC series and Netflix series, the table with the DVD dates for both, or no tables at all. If I had to pick I go with the individual tables in my sandbox. Actually Make that the combined table for the ABC series and separate combined table for the Netflix series. Users will just have to the main articles for the neilsen ratings.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 19:00, 3 June 2014 (UTC)
See the mixed tables.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 19:13, 3 June 2014 (UTC)
Okay. That was my gut feeling, even though the ratings info is better for series overview tables (in my opinion). But I can make them all one for transcluding easiness (yay!). I'll make the mock up and it will appear in my Sandbox 4 so you can see. I'll let you know here when it is done to take a look at that. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 19:36, 3 June 2014 (UTC)

Completed. Take a look at Sandbox 4 to see it transcluded (look at the wikicode to see how I'm doing it, as well the code in sandbox 6 to see where I'm putting the only includes). Sandbox 6 removed the cast table for the time being, with prose readded, and then created a Reception section, with the ratings info. Let me know! - Favre1fan93 (talk) 20:01, 3 June 2014 (UTC)

The combined table at Favre's Sandbox 4 contains all the same information as the other two tables, and doesn't seem any harder to read or anything. Is there really any need to separate the ABC and Netflix shows into different sections? If someone wants to know which shows stream on Netflix, or which ones aired on ABC, all they have to do is look at the table. That way, the shows can be listed in chronological order (presumably by start date) and in the future, when there are hopefully many more MCU tv series, people can find the most recent series, or see the order of series creation etc. easily, by looking at the order they appear going down the page.
I was also wondering about the colours assigned to each series in the tables. Do they stand for something or mean something, or were they just randomly assigned? And why are they necessary? Other tables like this (e.g. the films table at the MCU page) don't have colours, and don't need them either. Could someone explain this? - adamstom97 (talk) 07:34, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
Adam, the combined tables in my Sandbox 4 uses a method called transclusion. This method, using specific wiki-code, allows specific info from one page (in this case, the two separate tables in my Sandbox 6) to be represented elsewhere. So in Sandbox 6, it is necessary to keep both tables separate, as we have two different networks airing shows, and that is a good way to keep them organized. Yet, when we want to represent this table on the main MCU page, we don't want them to be two tables in that space. So I have coded it such, so the transclusion will make it one table in that instance.
As for the colors, yes they are necessary and stand for something. All series overview tables that appear on pages in the television wikiproject add the season table color to the overview table (which these can be considered). Colors (as I've seen) at the beginning of the season, are generally chosen at random, but are then changed to a color that is representative of the DVD box art. So in AoS season 1's case, I chose the grey initially, as that was in the series logo. However, it could possibly (not saying it should) be changed to a black or the orange seen on the season 1 poster, that is currently the top image of that page. For Agent Carter, I chose the teal from its logo for the first color, and for the Netflix series, I chose colors that were somewhat representative of their colors on their costumes. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 13:55, 4 June 2014 (UTC)

MCU template

"These are not creators, and are not directly under the MCU umbrella"

Could I just ask, how are they not creators, and how are they not intrinsically a part of the MCU on a production level? The creator and/or production companies of any other series or franchise are not actually a part of them, but they are usually included in the navbox anyway, in the way that i had them. Navboxes are made to link related articles together, so that someone reading one article who may want to go straight to another, can easily do so. Admittedly, many of these pages will already have links to Marvel Studios at least, but not all of them do, and they certainly don't all link to Marvel Television and Marvel Comics (i included Marvel Comics because of the tie-in comics, not the comic roots of the franchise). It just seems to make more sense for there to be an easy to find link to these pages that are all very important and relevant to the rest of the MCU. - adamstom97 (talk) 10:35, 25 June 2014 (UTC)

Creators/Publications are not always included, take for example {{Marvel Comics}} and {{Marvel Comics films}}. This is not a prerequisite and as you point out links to these pages are not far away.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 10:47, 25 June 2014 (UTC)

"Better" GotG sources

Question on how we can go about these. The Latino-Review one is being used for the rumor aspect of the content. Since anything else that we may find on this will most likely lead back to LR, could we preface the content by saying "By June 2014, rumor site Latino-Review [rest of the info]". And for the Gunn Comicbook.com one, that is only being used to source the "integral" quote. That one may be easier to replace, but Comicbook.com apparently was the only outlet I could find to comment on the Q&A where Gunn gave that quote. Also, totally digging the extended trailer released today. Can't wait for this to be released in a few weeks! - Favre1fan93 (talk) 13:51, 8 July 2014 (UTC)

We shouldn't use unreliable sources to even verify the existence of a rumor. Also the entire statement seems to be in violation of WP:CRYSTAL. I'm not sure why we need it, especially since we have Fiege's confirmation of Thanos. Also "integral" may seem like WP:PEACOCKing, even though it is not because it is attributed. Why not just say, 'Gunn stated that his brother, Sean took on multiple roles in film during the filming process, such as standing in for Rocket'? I can't wait either, it looks like Marvel is really stepping outside the box with this one.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 14:14, 8 July 2014 (UTC)
Okay. I'll take care of the removal of both. And luckily, the international release is only a day before us this time! It's so annoying how they release so much earlier abroad. Have you seen anything, from RSs or not, about premieres? - Favre1fan93 (talk) 14:18, 8 July 2014 (UTC)

One Shot DYK options

Did you know that

  1. ...a Marvel One-Shots short film will not be released on the home release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, having been on the five previous home media releases for Marvel Cinematic Universe films?
  2. ...Marvel One-Shots were being considered to appear in theaters before feature films, instead of on home media release?
  3. ...two Marvel One-Shots were inspiration for some of Marvel Studios' television series?
  4. ...Marvel One-Shots short films have seen actors such as Clark Gregg, Hayley Atwell and Ben Kingsley reprise their roles from Marvel Cinematic Universe films?

This is what I've got for potential DYKs. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 20:12, 8 July 2014 (UTC)

Out of those, I think 2 and 3 are best. Also how about?--TriiipleThreat (talk) 20:19, 8 July 2014 (UTC)
5. ...Marvel Studios considered making stand-alone short films, known as Marvel One-Shots, for several characters; including Loki, a young Nick Fury, and Black Panther?
That's good too. What if we replace Loki, Fury or Panther with any of Drew Pearce's, ie the Damage Control or Sin. And we can put multiple hooks too to see what the reviewers like. I would be good putting 5 as the main, and 2 or 3 as alts. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 20:51, 8 July 2014 (UTC)
I think we should with the bigger names, but personally the idea of a Damage Control one-shot is freaking awesome.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 21:03, 8 July 2014 (UTC)
That one may pique reader's interest, so why don't we just append it to the other three? It would still be with in a reasonable size for a hook I believe, and we still keep the "bigger" names. And yes, that would be awesome. Work in or around what SHIELD does. SHIELD/Heros f' things up. In comes Damage Control! - Favre1fan93 (talk) 21:35, 8 July 2014 (UTC)
Three is a good number, we don't want it to look like a laundry list. DC is interesting but I'm not sure it's recognizable enough to casual readers. But if I had to choose between DC and four, I'd pick DC and lose one of the three.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 23:01, 8 July 2014 (UTC)
I'm feeling Black Panther and Damage Control for sure, and then Loki because of his popularity, or young Fury because that would fit with the other two as characters not yet explored. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 23:15, 8 July 2014 (UTC)
So how about Loki, Black Panther and Damage Control?--TriiipleThreat (talk) 23:27, 8 July 2014 (UTC)
One thing: DC isn't a character, so you'd have to change the wording.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 23:30, 8 July 2014 (UTC)

How's this then: ...Marvel Studios considered making stand-alone short films, known as Marvel One-Shots, for several properties including: Loki, Black Panther, and Damage Control? - Favre1fan93 (talk) 00:45, 9 July 2014 (UTC)

Sounds fine to me.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 00:56, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
I'll get around to this tomorrow. I have to find a good DYK to review too. I'll post the nom here when it's up. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 02:58, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
I actually just went and did it. Template:Did you know nominations/Marvel One-Shots - Favre1fan93 (talk) 03:17, 9 July 2014 (UTC)

MCU edit notices

Hey. I was thinking of asking for some edit notices to be adding to some pages given what will be announced next week. I was thinking one at Doctor Strange (film) for sure, stating about the draft and WP:NF. Are there any others you think we should hit, like Captain Marvel/Ms. Marvel maybe? I felt having those would be helpful beyond the hidden notes I have added. Let me know. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 23:05, 17 July 2014 (UTC)

Captain America 3, Thor 3, Black Panther (film).--TriiipleThreat (talk) 00:01, 18 July 2014 (UTC)
Great. I'll get to requesting those. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 00:16, 18 July 2014 (UTC)
Incidently, Thor 3 should probably be merged to Thor (satellite).--00:24, 18 July 2014 (UTC)
Ok. I will boldly merge Thor 3 to the satellite page, redirecting it to the section, and still add an edit notice for possible film creation. The subtitles may kill us for Cap and Thor. I saw a rumor suggesting the subtitle for Thor was "Ragnarok", so it might not hurt to do one at Thor: Ragnarok, after making a redirect there. (side note) I was going to message you, Richie and probably Corvoe regarding your availability for the Comic-Con panel to see how we can all split up the content so the three of us aren't stepping on top of each other's toes in addition to providing damage control (like the team. Heh.) I'll make a new thread on that in the coming days. As we are sort of talking about this, just wanted you to know. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 00:53, 18 July 2014 (UTC)
Judging from the hate note the redirect should probably point to Thor (disambiguation). I wouldn't worry about the subtitle until it's revealed, it's anybody's guess.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 01:00, 18 July 2014 (UTC)

I created requests for all the pages we talked about. With the announcement of all those new release dates, let me know if you think I should request more. I think we'll get a better picture for most of them come next week. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 02:15, 19 July 2014 (UTC)

Should I make one for Guardians 2, and should we create a draft yet for it? - Favre1fan93 (talk) 23:56, 25 July 2014 (UTC)

Has it even been announced? We don't need it if it hasn't.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 00:19, 26 July 2014 (UTC)
Perlman has confirmed it. I have yet to watch the video where she says so apparently, but that's what I saw when I checked the page history earlier. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 03:14, 26 July 2014 (UTC)

I had gotten your message revolving around my additions to Nick Fury. For the flashback part of Nick Fury's part of him meeting Howard Stark, I can't say about when it took place in the past. During that addition, I have also mentioned that the Infinity Formula in Nick Fury is diminishing which explained his aging following the Battle Scars miniseries that introduced Nick Fury, Jr. to Marvel Comics as well as crossing Phil Coulson into the comics. Edits for the court

Hi TriiipleThreat, With appreciation for your recent edits at the Sonia Sotomayor page. During the last week, I have been adding material from 3 new books on the Roberts court to her page and am almost done. The article could probably make use of a top-to-bottom read through based on your viewpoints. Because of her unique background, I thought to ask you if the article is anywhere close to an upgrade by peer evaluation. She would be the first woman on the Supreme Court to reach the highest level of peer evaluation at Wikipedia. Possibly you could give the article a once over when/if time allows. Cheers. LawrencePrincipe (talk) 11:58, 19 July 2014 (UTC)

Hi TriiipleThreat, Only a short follow-up. The attempt to upgrade Sonia Sotomayor was met with a good deal of push-back and it appears that the article can be at risk for losing its GA status. I rewrote the Supreme Court section which is current and up to date. I also brought all 300 refs up to date for link status. However, over-edits in the other sections over the last 4 (four) years have apperently damaged the narrative flow in all the sections outside of the Supreme Court section. Any thoughts? Marvel Cinematic Universe tie-in comics

Favre1fan93 tagged this page with {{tone|date=July 2014}}. Seeing as you said that the criteria for grammar and style was met on the page in your review for B-class, I was wondering if you had any thoughts on this? - adamstom97 (talk) 06:09, 20 July 2014 (UTC)

@Adamstom.97: Some the language sounds overly promotional - particularly the plot synopsis'. This is probably because they were taken directly from the source, which is also a copyright violation. You should rewrite this in your own words.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 12:29, 21 July 2014 (UTC)
I would like to point out that I wrote the plot synopsis' for the main titles section myself, after reading each of the comics, so they are all completely in my own words, and not taken from any promotions or other copyright material. However, if you think they don't sound right, I can look at re-writing some sections to gain a more encyclopedic tone. - adamstom97 (talk) 12:54, 21 July 2014 (UTC)
I was referring more to ones in the "Other" section, but it appears you already changed most of it. "Fiercest", still sounds a little WP:PEACOCKy though. You'll have to ask Favre1fan about the rest.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 13:02, 21 July 2014 (UTC)

Per WP:IDD, cropping it was also fine. I was just trying to take away all of that excessive space and focus on just them. Reconsider? LADY LOTUSTALK 14:53, 4 August 2014 (UTC)

We don't want the forced resolution because it will appear differently on different screens. That also means that the image will display they will display at the same size no matter what but will just have an overall smaller image, with isn't nessecary. So it's just a matter of preference, personally I like the larger one.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 15:11, 4 August 2014 (UTC)

SHIELD Pilot

Hey, I have recently made some edits to Pilot (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) and was wondering if you could have a look at it and maybe point out some stuff that needs working on? It's still Start-class, but it would be good if we could get it up higher, and eventually to a good article if possible, along with the rest of the MCU articles. - adamstom97 (talk) 06:57, 5 August 2014 (UTC)

Webcitation down

Hey Triiiple. Is WebCite working for you? It currently is not for me, and I'm hoping it's not "down, down" as in they are no longer operational. Sock is it working for you? If it really is down, that is not good. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 23:53, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

It isn't working for me. - adamstom97 (talk) 06:14, 7 August 2014 (UTC)

Production question

Hey, question: if a film hasn't started filming yet, it is set to start filming in October BUT photos of the actor dressed as his character and promoting the film, is that considered principle photography? LADY LOTUSTALK 19:50, 21 August 2014 (UTC)

@Lady Lotus: Sometimes, films shoot test footage or some second unit filming before it enters principle photography or the actor could just taken pictures during his wardrobe fitting. You really need a reliable source to verify that principle photography has begun to be sure.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 20:11, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
What do you consider this https://twitter.com/twhiddleston/status/477253170687934464 ? LADY LOTUSTALK 20:41, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
Based on that tweet alone, I have no idea of what it means. Are there any sources stating that this tweet is coinciding with the start of principle photography?--TriiipleThreat (talk) 20:57, 21 August 2014 (UTC)

Wikipedia and YOUR History: Taking Control of the Internet

See you at the Laurel Pool Room, 9th and Main Street, Laurel, MD on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 7:00 PM EST. See http://www.meetup.com/Wikimedia-DC/events/205494212/ for more information. Geraldshields11 (talk) 02:13, 6 September 2014 (UTC)

Wikimedia DC invites revolutionaries, free thinkers, and other sundry editors to a DC WikiSalon

The WikiSalon is a special meetup usually held during the first and third full weeks of every month, from 7 PM to 9 PM. It's an informal gathering of Wikimedia enthusiasts, who come together to discuss Wikimedia wikis and collaboratively edit. There's no set agenda, and guests are welcome to recommend articles for the group to edit or edit on their own.

If you're coming by Metro, the closest station is Dupont Circle (on the Red Line). If you're driving, a lot of parking opens up downtown after 6:30 PM, so finding a parking space (even a free one) should be easy. Once you've found the building, go to Cove on the second floor. We will be in the conference room.

When: Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Where: The Cove, Dupont Circle, 1730 Connecticut Avenue NW, 2nd floor, 20009, DC

Source question

Would this be acceptable to use for the remaining cast members we have as "supporting roles"/the ones I used instagram content that didn't archive? - Favre1fan93 (talk) 19:35, 6 September 2014 (UTC)

I normally try to stay away from commercial sources.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 12:55, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
That's why I asked. But being from Fandango (an RS) I thought it might be okay. No worries. I can make due with finding secondary sources. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:39, 7 September 2014 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Thor (Marvel Comics), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Frank Martin. AoU film move

Thanks for moving the file. However, would my proposed name be better, having it go to File:Avengers Age of Ultron poster to be more in line with file names for other MCU films? And it also better states what the image is. Just a thought. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 04:41, 24 October 2014 (UTC)

Thoughts on the day

Get @Adamstom.97 and Richiekim: here too.

  • This has all the individual Marvel announcement articles. I didn't look through all, but maybe small quotes can be added here or there to draft articles, if they are not already used.
  • This is a great transcription of the Q&A, that we can try to add. It will also be helpful to replace all the live blog Newsarama sources I added.
  • What are your thoughts on the Avengers sequels: "Part 1/Part 2" or "Part I/Part II"?
  • Any other glaring problems/need of better sources?

- Favre1fan93 (talk) 04:03, 29 October 2014 (UTC)

From what I've seen around, quite a few good quotes came out of this that could be added to draft articles (something about Captain Marvel's development and plot I think I saw at Variety springs to mind). As far as the 'Part's, they use the roman numerals for the official logo, but I don't know if that necessarily means we should use it here. I think we have already borne the brunt of the crazed panic-editing (and done it well, in my opinion) and from now on it will be combing through stuff and catching anything extra to either add to pages or drafts, etc.
P.S. I don't think I've stopped smiling all day.
- adamstom97 (talk) 04:10, 29 October 2014 (UTC)
I haven't stopped either. If y'all haven't seen yet, here is a fan video of the announcements (on YouTube), right before they officially stated "Civil War". I do have some Variety articles open to hopefully sift through in the coming days. Newsarama, CBR, THR and IGN do not have anything new that is useful, since I last checked (really early Wed morning), so I don't know how much else we can get from the other trades that isn't in the above links and what we already added. Oh, and the "main" Newsarama article has all the images, non-Marvel-watermarked, for use come the time we need to add them. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 04:23, 29 October 2014 (UTC)
This has a nice break down of some of Feige's comments. - adamstom97 (talk) 04:57, 29 October 2014 (UTC)
This was a big day for sure. Perhaps it should be mentioned in the MCU, I'm not sure but an Apple-esque event like this for a movie studio might be unprecedented. Also regarding A:IW Parts 1 and 2, I'm sure they'll eventually be separate articles but should they start as separate articles? I guess we need to wait for more information, like if it will be single production for films or not.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 12:03, 29 October 2014 (UTC)
I'm thinking we should start the Avengers 3 articles as separate articles, as per other 2 part films like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay. I'm also thinking we should use the Roman numeral format since it's specified by Marvel, as the Star Wars and Rocky film articles also use the Roman numeral format as well. Richiekim (talk) 12:13, 29 October 2014 (UTC)
To Triiiple, I think that is a good idea. There was some other stuff I wanted to add to the MCU page about them going to three films a year now. To Richie, I agree on separate articles for the next Avengers film. I started the draft for the first, may not need the second quite yet, but wouldn't hurt to have. As for the title, the logo uses Roman numerals, though Marvel's official article uses "1/2". - Favre1fan93 (talk) 20:43, 29 October 2014 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Item 47.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Item 47.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Diannaa (talk) 18:58, 30 October 2014 (UTC)

Warning - BLP Violation

[2] Deadline.com is a blog and is not a reliable source. Statements that are blatant rumors hosted there cannot be printed in Wikipedia. Your adding a statement about rumors to the Dr Strange page is in direct violation to WP:BLP. If you insist on adding rumors, then you will be taken to ANI. 173.153.4.211 (talk) 23:09, 30 October 2014 (UTC)

That's completely laughable. You might want to check WP:RSN, Deadline.com is widely regarded as a reliable source with strict editorial oversight and was founded by very prominent entertainment journalist.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 11:30, 31 October 2014 (UTC)

Duplicate, extensive cast lists

Hey there, I saw your edits here and here. I suspect that user of being a sock of Avenger2015 who could not be dissuaded from adding unsourced, indiscriminate, and duplicate cast lists to articles that already have List of character sections or List of character articles. Here's the SPI report. Regards! Cyphoidbomb (talk) 21:09, 1 November 2014 (UTC)

Same thing as months ago

Well, I said it was good to be back, and I appreciated the kind words from you and other editors. But now the same editor who drove me away before with his repeated "fuck offs" and the admin who says it's OK to tell other editors to fuck off are it again. I was minding my own business, not even thinking about that foulmouthed person, and just trying to put it behind me. But within days he's on my talk page, poking me a stick. And the admin is saying, literally, that if I don't like being told "fuck off" that all my past good work means nothing and that I should leave Wikipedia.

I don't know what my future is here. I've started an ANI here, and hopefully something will come of that. I just wanted to let some of the good and responsible editors here know, and that if they're interested in following what's going on, that's the link. I am disheartened as hell. --Tenebrae (talk) 10:00, 5 November 2014 (UTC)

Proposed Changes to "List of Marvel Cinematic Universe Films" page

Hi TriipleThreat. Thank you for your feedback on the bold edit I proposed for the MCU films list page. I have taken a step back and more thoroughly scoped out my proposed changes on my Talk page, and would appreciate any feedback / input you could offer. Mlcorcoran (talk) 17:36, 20 November 2014 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) You are essentially gutting a Featured list for reasons I don't really understand. A lot of time and hard work was created to make sure this article was streamlined and efficient as possible. It is possible there may be a bit more we can do on that end, but gutting it of all content as you seem to be proposing is not the answer. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 21:20, 20 November 2014 (UTC)

Kurzon

I note that he has been blocked a couple of times for 3RR, and has several warnings on his talk page. He often reverts to his minimalistic version of the character lead sections, and it seems like no one really wants to call him out on that. 129.33.19.254 (talk) 16:12, 5 December 2014 (UTC)

I'm wishing you a Merry Christmas, because that is what I celebrate. If you don't like Christmas or just don't celebrate it in any of its forms, then please accept a generic "Happy Holidays". If you celebrate no holidays at this time of year, then hopefully you will be satisfied with an even more generic "Season's Greetings".  :)

Carol Danvers pic

Hey, I was wondering what you think about incorporating this pic: http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20131108005338/carol-corps/images/e/e7/2465752-capt_marvel_jamie_mckelvie.jpg into the Carol Danvers article. It's McKelvie promotional art. I have no clue about properly uploading a fair use image and whatever that entails though given that this particular piece shows up on a bunch of comic sites I'd assume it should be okay. I'm thinking it's a better image for the 2010's section than the current one. To be clear I just like the art better than the current pic so there's no real policy based argument for its inclusion :). I just think it better fits the current run of Danvers so I though I'd put it out there. Be well. Capeo (talk) 05:52, 24 December 2014 (UTC)

Re: The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

The critical response to this film has been largely negative. The positive reviews are dated and I included four typical revies from well known and established publications (wired, ars technica, Boston Globe, The Telegraph) I used quotes and sourced it. I do not understand why you deleted my contribution not once but twice. The second time you inaccurately claimed that my sources did not contain the quotes. Look, this is basically a crappy movie. the score of 59 on meta critic (or 49 is you select top most circulated periodicals ) is really poor. Claiming reviews are mostly positive just isn't accurate. Please either change it to reflect more accurately the consensus or I will again re edit.

As to your charge of edit war, I added truthful well sourced quotes and you deleted my contributions twice. Hopefully you can edit the page yourself in a way that makes us both happy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.197.240.56 (talk) 04:38, 25 December 2014 (UTC)

First I am not claiming anything. The consensuses that are stated in the article are direct quotes from reliable sources. You replaced it with original research based on a few individual negative reviews. The first paragraph is for sourced consensuses. The second paragraph is for individual positive reviews and the third is for individual negative reviews. Keep this format and do not remove sourced content.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 05:22, 25 December 2014 (UTC)
Editors are expected to follow the Bold, Revert, Discussion Cycle. You made a bold change and it was subsequently revert. If you still disagree, you should start a discussion, not re-revert. Re-reverting can be considered edit warring.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 05:26, 25 December 2014 (UTC)
