Rat-baiting

Please stop adding references to rat-catching in the first sentence. This article is about Rat-baiting not rat-catching. It has it's own paragraph in the article and Rat catcher has it's own article. Chessy999 (talk) 00:39, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Either you didn't read my response on my talk page, or you're wilfully promulgating false information in your edit summaries. It is difficult to correct a false statement in an edit summary - one must make a dummy edit in order to reply. Not fair really. Hesperian 03:44, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Your RFA

Congratulations, I'm pleased to let you know that I've closed your RfA as successful, and you're now an administrator! May I suggest you visit the Wikipedia:New admin school to get a few ideas on the best way to start using your shiny new buttons? If in doubt, feel free to give me a shout! Well done and all the best, The Rambling Man (talk) 19:42, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi! Well done, and a word of advice; don't use your new tools for the rest of the day! Let the excitement of the last hour subside, and get yourself together before venturing into button pushing. I'm also available for any help needed. Cheers. LessHeard vanU (talk) 19:51, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Congratulations on your successful RfA, indeed. I may not agree, but then again, I've been wrong before, and I would be happy were I wrong this time, as well.  :-) As far as my oppose, it wasn't your recent AfDs that bothered me. The ones we've both been acquainted with are in the subject area of child sexual abuse/adult child sex/etc. You appear to have a point-of-view on the topic, and it's a point of view shared by many people, including myself and most Americans. However, it's still a point of view. When we start picking the topics we cover and how we cover them on the basis of moral considerations (or the "squick factor"), then we're not writing an encyclopedia anymore. Others who feel as I do have been called pedophiles and child molestors and run off the wiki. I've stuck around, mainly because I'm too stubborn to give up on thios project. I make a simple, logical argument: adult-child sex existed long before we conceived (as a society) of the idea that there was such a thing as child abuse, much less child sexual abuse. Your argument to delete the adult-child sex article was three words long. Your commentary on the positive portrayals article showed bias about the subject. I think you're a very good editor, and I hope you'll be as good an admin. But, over your time here, I see you as having leaned disproportionately toward deleting articles, and having given me reason to suspect bias regarding articles in this topic area. You're a good editor. It's just that now is the wrong time to have another admin who favors deletion as a course of action. --SSBohio 20:24, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Congratulations, VanTucky. I hope you won't hold it against me that I didn't support your RfA. As I said in my neutral comment, I hesitated to support you outright. At the same time, I wasn't concerned enough to oppose. While I personally would not have changed the Manual of Style without wider discussion, perhaps the difference between your view of editing and mine comes down to... style. Let me say again congratulations, and I hope that administrative duties won't take up so much of your time that you won't continue to write. You're a great asset to Wikipedia. --Kyoko 20:57, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Thank Spam response

Hey Vantucky, I hate to say this, but your thankspam doesn't work. You forgot to put a |} at the end of it, thus, whenever somebody adds a comment after the thankspam, it is captured in the box with your color scheme. Contentious how?

I don't know how much you know about the history of the Chinook Jargon, but I'd like to know which of what you took out you thought was contentious; anything in that paragraph is standard in Chinook studies and is citable, even tough the cite wasn't there; this material was originally on a page that DID have citations, until it was split off. All India Trade Union Centre

Dear VanTucky, Thankyou for directing me to the delete proposition page. I was not knowing how to deal with that article on All India Trade Union Centre which I created by mistake. I had posted a request in the administrators page to delete it. Now I have also posted the same request in the delete proposition page.--NoMagicHarry (talk) 21:23, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Conservapedia

Just curious... what did you do to get blocked from Conservapedia after a single edit? I'm an editor on Conservapedia (under the same name I use here), and though I certainly don't toe the party line as far as bias in articles is concerned, no one's even threatened to block me. (You don't have to answer this, obviously; I was just wondering.) WaltonOne 22:28, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Well, fortunately the Conservapedia article on homosexuality no longer makes that assertion (at least not in the lead). I find the key is to try and change things slowly, and start off by creating uncontroversial articles in order to gain the confidence of the Conservapedia community, rather than getting involved in contentious areas straight away. But I think Conservapedia, and its attitude towards inexperienced contributors, has improved somewhat in recent times, and I'm sure your contributions would now be welcome. WaltonOne 00:23, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

RfA thanks

Thanks for supporting my recent request for adminship which was successful with 89 supports, 0 opposes, and 2 neutrals. Unfortunately all I can offer is this lame text thanks rather than some fancy-smancy thank-you spam template thingy. I was very pleased to receive such strong support and to hear so many nice comments from editors whom I respect. I’ll do my best with the tools, and if you ever see me going astray don’t hesitate to drop a note on my talk page. Thanks again for your support!

I'd also like to offer you a belated congrats on your own RfA. I would have voted for you, but decided not to vote in any RfA's while my own was running. Plus you looked like you were doing okay, though had you been stuck at 199 I might have helped you get up to the 200 mark.  :) --Bigtimepeace | talk | contribs 01:43, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Guangping/Kuang-p'ing

I hadn't seen that one. No sources at all, I agree, good call. I've heard of Kuo and he does have some books published, and his daughter used to be published in Smallheiser's T'ai Chi magazine I think, so there is at least some notability for him. He claimed a lineage from Yang Banhou, although I'm not optimistic that we could ever get a secondary source to prove it...

Hey VT, are you aware of WikiProject Oregon's assessment page? You could request an assessment for Sho, which would probably lead to a few improvements, and a B-rating, which might be helpful going into GA. There's not a ton of us using 'em, but enough that they're getting worked through pretty quickly. New Project

Myself and several other editors have been compiling a list of very active editors who would likely be available to help new editors in the event they have questions or concerns. As the list grew and the table became more detailed, it was determined that the best way to complete the table was to ask each potential candidate to fill in their own information, if they so desire. This list is sorted geographically in order to provide a better estimate as to whether the listed editor is likely to be active.

If you consider yourself a very active Wikipedian who is willing to help newcomers, please either complete your information in the table or add your entry. If you do not want to be on the list, either remove your name or just disregard this message and your entry will be removed within 48 hours. The table can be found at User:Useight/Highly Active, as it has yet to have been moved into the Wikipedia namespace. Thank you for your help. Useight (talk) 02:29, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

WikiProject Theatre May 2008 Newsletter

The WikiProject Theatre Newsletter (May 2008)

The WikiProject Theatre Newsletter!
Issue 3 - May, 2008

Welcome to our third newsletter - we've got lots to get through this month so without further ado, let's crack on...

The Big Debate - Character Lists in Play Articles

For those of you who haven't headed over to our talk page recently - you've been missing out! Throughout the past month there's been great discussion about the issue of character lists in play articles. The aim is to form a standard presentation of character lists to be used on all play articles so if you'd like to make your voice heard on the issue then check out the talk page now.

Collaboration of The Month

Yet again this month's COTM has remained unchanged as no-one has nominated any articles to become the new incumbent. Quick - get yourself down to the COTM page and nominate an article for next month!

Assessment

The number of articles at the Assessment page are growing - if you're feeling a little lost and don't know where to begin to help us out, head on down to the Assessment page and give us a hand.

New members

The past month has seen Dereksmootz, Duckie for broadway, Dozenthey, Fewster, Nrswanson, Kleinzach and Broadweighbabe join us - welcome to you all! It's wonderful to see such a large influx of new members.

If you've been editing a theatre-related article recently and noticed another user helping you who also appears to have an interest for the subject of theatre, why not drop them a line and invite them over to the project?

HELP!

We're crying out for people to help us out wherever possible. We are currently looking for members to volunteer to give us a hand in several areas. If you can do any of the following, please drop us a line at the talk page:

  • Newsletter Editor(s) - Always fancied yourself as a bit of a journalist? Perhaps you could help us write this newsletter - it doesn't take long to compile. Maybe you'd like to help but can't commit on a regular basis? In that case, why not rally round a few other members of the project to help you out and take it in turns each month to compose the newsletter?
  • Mailmen/women - If writing the newsletter isn't your bag then maybe you could help in the distribution of this fine document? As our membership grows it becomes quite laborious to send it to everyone. It's only a quick task that needs doing once a month, and really is just a case of copying and pasting a template onto our members talk pages.
  • Portal editor(s) - It's come to our attention that the Theatre Portal hasn't been updated in a long time and we'd like to get someone, or a group of people to take charge of it and get it up to the standard of some of the great portals out there (e.g. the Comedy Portal, the Solar System Portal etc).
And finally...

Don't forget to add the WikiProject Theatre userbox to your userpage to spread the word about the project!

You have received this newsletter because your name is on the list of Participants on the WikiProject page. If this information is out of date and you no longer wish to receive the newsletter, please remove your name from the Participants list and also click here to stop receiving the newsletter.

I am... confused

You'll have to forgive me for potentially being dense, but what exactly was the meaning of this edit? I reverted it because it looks an awful lot like vandalism, but imagine my surprise when... it's a edit from an admin! Now, I am all for non-censorship, swearing until my fucking ears bleed, and yes, consenting naked dudes in the shower. But doesn't putting up a picture like that sort of give readers the wrong idea, especially when "promiscuity" is a really awful stereotype associated with homosexuality?
Now, given that there's a tag saying you're away, I'm a little worried you've been hacked. Please, explain to me what is going on here?!
L'Aquatique[talk] 07:27, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

I disagree. I've had that page on my watchlist for a long time, and it gets vandalised all the time and honestly, that does seem like a vandal edit to me. I think of it this way: there isn't a picture of a naked man and a woman in the shower at heterosexuality, why would that sort of image be appropriate at homosexuality? Surely there are images out there that illustrate homosexuality just as well without vaguely hinting that homosexual relationships are largely about sex- which is the vibe I got from that image.
I'm sorry if you feel that I'm being paranoid or not assuming good faith, but I feel that my message was really quite neutral. In fact, the entire thing was phrased as a question.

I removed the image you added of the HQ because we had one before (a better one of the entire building, I might add :p) and it was decided in its current FAC that it doesn't need one because the article doesn't comment on the HQ all that much. It would just be decorative and nothing more. Cheers. Gary King (talk) 07:32, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Van tucky you should not merge an article then forget to include that information in the merged article. It's really unhelpful and damages wikipedia. You're effectively removing information. If you want the article merged then please at the very least go to the trouble of including that information in the merged article. Your actions mean notable content has been effectively ommited from wikipedia for several months. Supposed (talk) 07:50, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Rfb participation thanks

Hello, VanTucky.

I wanted to personally thank you for taking part in the project-wide discussions regarding my candidacy for bureaucratship. After bureaucratic discussion, the bureaucrats decided that there was sufficient significant and varied opposition to my candidacy, and thus no consensus to promote. Although personally disappointed, I both understand and respect their decision, especially in light of historical conservatism the project has had when selecting its bureaucrats. As you felt the need to oppose my candidacy, I would appreciate any particular thoughts or advice you may have as to what flaws in my candidacy you perceived and how you feel they may be addressed. Once again, thank you for your participation. -- Avi (talk) 20:45, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

Chicken

Evening sir, Congratulations on your new feathered friends. I've often thought about getting some, but it never happened. Worried about cats, foxes, vandals, neighbours, cost, damage to garden etc... Couple of quick questions if you don't mind?

  • Are they noisy?
  • Expensive?
  • Do they take up a lot of room?
  • Do they destroy grass they are put on?

Also, are you having them as pets, breeding them, or as a future dinner? haha! Sorry... I voted in your poll too, as I say I was thinking of getting two a while back, and naming them Sweet and Sour :P ← κεηηε∂γ (shout at me) 09:08, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Wow! thanks for all the info! Its something I will be looking into. The last time I was going to get them, the bird flu epidemic was close to Scotland, so I didn't bother. Especially as the farmers market stopped selling birds. Need to be careful also, as I have a young nephew that would be playing in the garden. Bird Poop + Kids = Not so good... Anyway, thanks again for all of that. Much appreciated. ← κεηηε∂γ (shout at me) 07:43, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
Yup, but there was fears that wild birds could carry the disease, and chickens outside could come into contact with the wild birds, infecting them. It came to Scotland too. A bird died of it not too far away. And with the foot and mouth previously, which killed loads of animals in my village, I wasn't taking any chances. ← κεηηε∂γ (shout at me) 08:05, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi there, I've written an article called Introduction to genetics that tries to introduce DNA, genes and genetics in a completely non-technical and approachable way for people who have no background in science. It's intended as an introduction for the main articles, which are a bit too technical for many people. If you have the time, could you have a look through this and see where it is assuming too much background or isn't very clear? No particular hurry on this, but if you could leave some comments on the talkpage I'd be very grateful. Tim Vickers (talk) 21:01, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Re: American Civil Liberties Union

First of all, I want to thank you for protecting the ACLU article, which has been long overdue. There seems to be one anonymous user absolutely bent on adding propaganda to the article, and gives himself away with his strident (and absurd) edit summaries. I have been tracking this for a couple of months now, have been keeping a list of the IPs he has used, and he definitely shows a pattern of edits across Wikipedia dealing with Jewish and Israeli figures, Russian history, and topics relating to Nazism in its various permutations. I have yet to figure out, however, what would be the best use of said information. He has demonstrated a long pattern of disruptive behavior, the question is how do we deal with a user who uses so many different IPs? Your thoughts? ---RepublicanJacobiteThe'FortyFive' 14:16, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

ZuluPad

Why are you attacking ZuluPad on Wikipedia? ZuluPad has been listed on the Personal Wiki page for several years, and your reason for deleting the ZuluPad page (that has also been around for over a year) are horribly outdated. For one, the initial ZuluPad page was created when the application was in it's infancy. It was recreated by someone else who thought the program deserved a page here. One person on that Deletion page that you site notes that Zulupad had only 30 Google hits. A Google search for ZuluPad now returns 23,900 hits. Additionally, ZuluPad has been on the front page of Digg.com, garnering 1481 diggs (http://digg.com/software/Personal_Wiki_Application_As_Easy_As_Notepad_It_is_FREE). Does that sound non-notable to you? --Omeomi (talk) 16:32, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

So why did you also delete it from the Personal Wiki Page? And if you're just carrying out a 2-year old consensus, how does that account for changes in something's status over time? Shouldn't there be a possibility for a new consensus? --Omeomi (talk) 16:42, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

The article doesn't exist because YOU deleted it. And that consensus page you site actually mentions that it should be on the Personal Wiki page. And the last time I created the ZuluPad page, I did not take the text from another website, I just re-added the text that was already on WikiPedia. And the page that the WikiPedia bot sourced (http://gersic.com/projects.php?id=19) says at the bottom, "Note: All text on this page is hereby placed in the public domain. Copy it at will.", so it was NOT A COPYRIGHT VIOLATION.

--Omeomi (talk) 16:49, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Fine, I will bring this to Wikipedia deletion review. Two years seems like a reasonable amout of time for something to move from non-notable to notable. At least as notable as any other program in that list. So, why exactly are you singling out ZuluPad and not any of the other programs listed there, just so I know what to address in my comments? And don't say, "because it doesn't have it's own page" because you're the one that deleted the page. If you could avoid that sort of circular logic, I would appreciate it.

--Omeomi (talk) 23:21, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Interesting that you want others to assume good faith when they're talking about you, but you have no such qualms when you're talking about other people. --Omeomi (talk) 19:02, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

  • You didn't notify either party (as per Wikipedia Guidelines) so neither of us knew that you'd filed this report. Let's see what that page has to say about reporting sock puppets:
  • Before creating a report...please be sure that...you have strong evidence. You provided no strong evidence.
  • All your statements should be supported by diffs. You've provided no diffs.
  • Assume good faith, if possible. Goes without saying. You told me I wasn't assuming good faith when I suggested that you may have an ulterior motive, so I dropped it. Not sure why you don't hold yourself to the same standards.
  • Notify the suspected users. I got no notification, and as Prosfilaes notes above, you didn't bother to notify Cyber Shepherd either.

And YOU'RE the ADMINISTRATOR? Isn't this the sort of thing administrators are supposed to know how to do properly? --Omeomi (talk) 01:00, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

VanTucky, WikiPedia Community in general--I am a real person and I do work at Teachers_College,_Columbia_University. For some reason the IP Address where I live is blocked (because of some user I have never heard of). If you read my post from the deletion review where I was accused of being a sock puppet I noted at the beginning of my post that I was new to this. I fully intend to make future contributions and find it surprising that I am under suspicion for being a sock puppet or somehow faking my job or identity. Is this just the normal protocol here? Why, also, such vitriol against ZuluPad! So curious. I will post again soon, and would like to invite anyone in the greater New York metropolitan area to come by this Wednesday when I teach my next podcasting class. I do want to be part of this community it's just difficult when you're suspected of not-existing or only having a single purpose. Please allow me to vindicate myself. I am not a sock-puppet or somehow in cahoots with Omeomi, the deletion review just happens to be my first posting; but it will not be my only (i.e. for a single purpose).--Cyber Shepherd (talk) 21:35, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Re Pigeon stubs

G'day mate, Yes I agree with your suggestion. I've been adding stubs in a rather manic fashion, mainly out of an urge for having an article for each existing breed. It's a big job as there are a lot of breeds. We (those of us on Domestic pigeon task force) are discussing the idea of an infobox specifically for the pigeon breed articles. It is expected this infobox will cover area/country of origin and the particular breed grouping each individual breed belongs to. A problem with the grouping system is that there are differences of opinion from one country to the next. If you check the Fancy pigeon article you will find an attempt to organise these better under Major breed families of fancy pigeon. I do intend to eventually create articles for each of those "groupings". That way when I do as you suggest I can "link" to the particular grouping the breed belongs to. In the meantime though I shall go back through a few breed articles and do as you suggest. Trust me I was/am planning to expand each article in due time. Just a big project that needs a bit of ground work doing first in my opinion? I'm glad you are working on the Chicken articles. Well sheep too but I'm a fan of poultry. I looked at a few Chicken articles a while back and thought someone needed to get into them and organize things a bit better. I'm glad you are putting your talents toward that project. I'll take a look at some and see if I can get any ideas for the pigeon articles. Cheers,--Sting Buzz Me... 03:09, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

The Chicken infobox looks great. Thanks for pointing it out to me. The pigeon breeds will need some different options though. Hello yet again. I regretfully inform you that the bot we were using to update the user status at Wikipedia:Highly Active Users, SoxBot V, was blocked for its constant updating. With this bot out of operation, a patch is in the works. Until that patch is reviewed and accepted by the developers, some options have been presented to use as workarounds: 1) Qui monobook (not available in Internet Explorer); 2) User:Hersfold/StatusTemplate; 3) Manually updating User:StatusBot/Status/USERNAME; or 4) Not worry about it and wait for the patch to go through, which hopefully won't take long. I have my copy that I brought back in the 70's. It is a little tattered nowadays but still gets reread every so often. The Pigeon by Wendell Levi is kind of the pigeon fanciers Bible. Last week there was some good improvements to Music of Oregon and Phil Knight, great job everyone. This week, by request is the Applegate Trail, which is short enough to easily conjure up a DYK. Then, I’m trying something a little different, with the Portland State stuff. We included the two high profile schools during Civil War week last year, so now its time for the younger sibling that gets no respect to get some attention. After all, it is the largest college in the state. Feel free to help with whatever aspects you like, though to help with some ideas I added some to the article talk page. Click here to opt out of these messages, or click here to make a suggestion for a future COTW. Nana na na, hey hey hey, goouud byeeee. Aboutmovies (talk) 08:14, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

WikiProject Theatre June 2008 Newsletter

The WikiProject Theatre Newsletter (June 2008)

The WikiProject Theatre Newsletter!
Issue 4 - June, 2008
Collaboration of The Month

Yet again this month's COTM has remained unchanged as no-one has nominated any articles to become the new incumbent. Please can someone get down to the COTM page and nominate an article for next month!

Assessment

The ongoing task of assesing the articles at the Assessment page continues - if you're feeling a little lost and don't know where to begin to help us out, head on down to the Assessment page and give us a hand.

New members

The past month has seen Canadian Scouter, Carole Higgins, Gonzalo84 and Kiwiboy121 join us - welcome to you all!

If you've been editing a theatre-related article recently and noticed another user helping you who also appears to have an interest for the subject of theatre, why not drop them a line and invite them over to the project?

HELP!

As mentioned in previous newsletters, we're crying out for people to help us out wherever possible.

Cool tool

Hey, I forgot to tell you about this really cool thing for keeping track of input - I asked Franamax to make a tool here, and this is what he came up with. Cool eh? He would love more feedback. Cheers, Casliber (talk · contribs) 00:29, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

False Sockpuppet Accusation

VanTucky, I have posted the following on the talk page of User:Rossami as well as the talk page of User:Shalom. I simply ask that you do what is fair.

"Rossami, I am writing to request help in mediating a matter involving a false accusation and the tarnishing of my reputation. I am a new user and my first post was here: Wikipedia:Deletion_review/Log/2008_May_23 regarding a Zulupad page. At the end of the deletion review log User:Shalom had the following to say about me:
"Housekeeping note: Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Omeomi - There is legitimate suspicion, but no solid proof, that User:Cyber Shepherd may be a sockpuppet of User:Omeomi. Regardless, Cyber Shepherd has no edits outside this DRV and his userpage. Shalom (Hello • Peace) 04:43, 30 May 2008 (UTC)"
Unless User:Shalom would like to prove or disprove this suggestion that I am a sockpuppet of User:Omeomi by conducting a checkname or performing some other verification test, then I feel that
User:Shalom should rescind his accusation. User User:VanTucky also cast his doubts about my existence as a real person. Can these users either prove their case or redact their statements?

If this is not the correct place to request this kind of help, I apologize--I am new to WikiPedia. However, I am a real person, I do work at Teachers College, Columbia University, and I do intend to (attempt) to create and add positively to WikiPedia. Please help with this matter or least instruct me where a more appropriate forum for this kind of grievance might be. Many thanks." --Cyber Shepherd (talk) 20:37, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

GA reviews

I was sorry to see your decision to leave GA, it can ill-afford to lose a hard-working and conscientious editor. I do far fewer reviews than you, so it's no big deal to me how the nuts and bolts work, but I can understand your frustration. I hope you feel able to reconsider at some future time, best wishes, jimfbleak (talk) 05:28, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Orloff

Hi, dear Steven! I greatly appreciate your contribution to Wikipedia and am impressed with the articles you have created. Let me introduce myself. I am a Russian poultry scientist, geneticist and historian, and I have got very interested in your article Orloff (chicken). However, I have some doubts regarding its accuracy in a historical part. If we look at your sources of information suggesting that the Orloff should not be called a Russian chicken breed, we can see that both of them are popular sources. For instance, I know Pam Percy, she is neither a scientist, nor a historian by education and occupation, she just complied what had been written in other sources. So, she cannot be an original source of modern research. Anyhow, she did list the Orloff among the Russian breeds despite certain Persian roots of that breed. Actually, I read a lot of old and modern poultry historical literature in Russian, English, German and other languages, and none of those authors including, for example, Sir Edward Brown, the first President of the World's Poultry Science Association, ever claimed that this breed is NOT Russian. To tell the truth, there is no modern research done on the Orloff. All authors rewrite information that has been known about this breed for 100+ years. So, the breed IS Russian, although for its creation some foreign material was used, not only Persian fowl (a legend told it was from Gīlān Province). There is a similar story with the Orlov Trotter horse breed created by the same Count Alexey Orlov Chesmensky. It was derived from an Arabian stallion Smetanka bought in Turkey; however, nobody has ever considered the breed Arabian or Turkish. The Orlov Trotter IS a Russian breed in the history of horse breeding. Similarly, we have a lot of other examples in chickens and other poultry species, when a breed was created in one country from material imported from other countries. So, I beg your pardon and ask for your indulgence to allow me to make some edits in Orloff (chicken) and List of chicken breeds. With kindest regards,
Yours sincerely, --Michael Romanov (talk) 23:37, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Review mentoring

Hi there! I'm embarking on my first GA review on Loss and Gain and was wondering if you would make sure that I don't do anything silly. If yes, then I'll leave a note here when I'm finished. --Gimme danger (talk) 23:19, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

Xtra COTW

Greeting once again WikiProject Oregon Folks. Time for another edition of the Collaboration of the Week. First, thank you to those who helped out on the last few COTWs. This week we have the soon to open Westside Express Service, formerly the Washington County Commuter Rail, so lets see if we can get it up to WPORE standards. Then there is a Coordinates Drive to add coordinates to any articles currently missing them, to help increase readership by allowing them to be shown on Google Earth/Maps. Click here to opt out of these messages, or click here to make a suggestion for a future COTW. Aboutmovies (talk) 23:54, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

Talk:Sportsbook.com deletion

Can you please explain your deletion of Talk:Sportsbook.com? While most was vandal nonsense, there was some relevant information. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 08:28, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Instead of protection at Sportsbook.com, I think it's fairly clear that User:96.238.40.131 messing there from May until June is now at User:96.238.45.204. Would you consider a warning at the new guy appropriate? -- Ricky81682 (talk) 05:27, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

Happy Independence Day!

Your GA nomination of Silkie

The article Silkie you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold.  It hasn't failed because it's basically a good article, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within seven days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:Silkie for things needed to be addressed. Please post comments regarding the review on the review subpage, thanks! Gary King (talk) 23:45, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
