Happy New Year, Ranking Update edit

Malaysia football team edit

Hi Ranking Update, I think we should create an archive for the past fixtures instead of deleting them, 'cos people (including me) may still be curious of their past fixtures. Perhaps, you can create an archive for every year, which is, on the same article page, there are dropdown menus with the "[show]" for each year's fixtures. Cheers. ;)

BTW, thanks for accepting me as your friend.   Hop n hop (on the arctic ice) 14:27, 4 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Just curious... edit

Hi Ranking Update, why do you say that you are semi-retired? Cheers, Hop n hop (on the arctic ice) 13:54, 6 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Because I faced many problems in my real life, that's why I want to retired from Wikipedia but.. maybe I still have a time to contribute here. ;) — иz нίpнόp ʜᴇʟᴘ! 15:27, 6 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hope you can cope with your problems, and all the best in your Wikipedia editing! Hop n hop (on the arctic ice) 07:26, 7 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I hope so. — иz нίpнόp ʜᴇʟᴘ! 07:29, 7 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Just FYI, I don't think I am a great editor, as I still have lots more WP knowledge to learn. But don't worry, I respect your opinion.   Hop n hop (on the arctic ice) 15:55, 7 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Great editor = Friendly editor (That's what I mean..) :) — иz нίpнόp ʜᴇʟᴘ! 17:05, 7 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Just asking you for a bit of help here. When I want to look at my number of edits, which is accurate? The one displayed on my Preferences page or the "Edit count" on my contributions page? Because my prefernce page's number is 4 less than edit count number. Hop n hop (on the arctic ice) 08:22, 8 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

I think the Preferences tab, because the "Edit count" tab sometimes encountered an problem. — иz нίpнόp ʜᴇʟᴘ! 08:32, 8 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Page move? edit

Should we move National Stadium, Bukit Jalil to Bukit Jalil National Stadium instead? Hop n hop (on the arctic ice) 08:26, 8 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Maybe we just should let it like that because it already been there for a long time. — иz нίpнόp ʜᴇʟᴘ! 08:32, 8 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Just letting you know that... edit

There are many IPs who constantly changed the squad section of Malaysian FC's WP articles. I think you may want to verify the players in the squad, as it seems riduclous, but it actually changes almost everyday (for those I monitor). Hop n hop (on the arctic ice) 15:33, 8 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Yup, I also had a problem with that, the information on the squad section of the Malaysian football team cannot be trust. I'm already searching some information on Malaysian association football website, but there is no squad list been release. Plus, the only Malaysian editors that I can trust are Syafiq hazmy. — иz нίpнόp ʜᴇʟᴘ! 15:43, 8 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I never really doubt his edits. He's a pure Wikipedian.   Hop n hop (on the arctic ice) 15:50, 8 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of Malaysian dishes, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Dish (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Help! edit

Could anyone help me delete the old revision of this file?

I don't want my older version image been download and use. — иz нίpнόp ʜᴇʟᴘ! 21:07, 12 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

That image is currently used on both the English and the Norwegian Wikipedia to illustrate their respective articles on Yu Yee oil. The file itself is stored at the Wikimedia Commons, not at the English Wikipedia. You can request its deletion over there; see their pages on deletion requests and on speedy deletion. However, you have released the image under a Creative Commons license, and there's nothing keeping people from re-using it at will; I don't know whether the Commons accepts "I've changed my mind" as a valid deletion rationale. Anyway, there's nothing that can be done about the image at the English Wikipedia. Huon (talk) 22:01, 12 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
Thank you, this answer really help me. :) — иz нίpнόp ʜᴇʟᴘ! 07:35, 13 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Kota Kinabalu edit

I see that you're mostly retired, but if you're still interested in improving Kota Kinabalu up to good article status, I've left some suggestions on that article's GA review page. Unfortunately, some substantial work will be required, but if you're interested, I'm glad to help. Thanks for your work, and I hope things get better for you soon! -- Khazar2 (talk) 15:34, 23 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

If you are willing to promote it to GA status, then I can help you to correct some grammar errors and see how to rephrase the article (while keeping its existing content). I just browsed the article and see that it is relatively free of grammar errors, but find that the sentences are not very joined together, making reading quite unpleaseurable to me. PS: I can also help correct grammar on other articles you have created/have significant contributions. Arctic Kangaroo 05:19, 9 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Never mind, I have read through your whole Malay Wiki user page and its recent history. Nice thing you're doing there, trying to improve a less popular Wiki for the reading pleasure of your fellow Malaysians. And, congrats on completing your studies (assuming so as you say you are no longer living in NZ)! Arctic Kangaroo 15:40, 10 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
What do you mean? Are you angry bro? Nope, I'm in NZ not because studying, but I always visit there because my family always bring me there. Yeah, I should come back to en wiki first before improving other wiki. But, because feel sad with my own language, I try to help them first and improving some gadget there. Sorry if I didn't tell you, since I go there, I never check my userpage on en wiki and never updating it. — иz нίpнόp ʜᴇʟᴘ! 16:20, 10 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
No, why should I be angry? You are helping your fellow Malaysians. I was trying to praise you for that.   And, I thought you were university student. LOL. Arctic Kangaroo 16:22, 10 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

After checking each section, I will place a stamp which looks like this:   Checked by Arctic Kangaroo . Also, some suggestions to improve the article can be found here. Feel free to add other info you know as well, as mentioned above. Cheers!

A message from PID (vi.wiki) edit

Hi Ranking Update. This is PID from vi.wiki. I've been translating the article of Kota Kinabalu since yesterday and have encountered some difficulties. Please help me:

  • "Another name was Singgah Mata which literally means "transit eye", but can be loosely translated as "pleasing to the eye". -->I don't understand what "transit eye" is and how it can be loosely translated as "pleasing to the eye". Does transit eye mean "moving eye"?
  • What is "state assembly district"?
  • Is there any Chinese name for Che Sui Khor Pagoda? :) I just want to translate it name through Sino-Vietnamese reading.
  • What is "Chancellory" in "UMS Chancellory Building"? Is it a proper name or just a common noun that can be loosely translated as "Office"?

Thank you very much  . PID (talk) 08:27, 30 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Google Books is a bit awkward at my place. Sometimes I can read this Thiessen 2012 source, sometimes I cannot. There are so many good books on Google Books but for many times we're allowed to read just a few pages. However, I can guarantee that I cite it properly. In the past, I even didn't attach any Google Books links (especially those "Snippet View" books) in ref link since they seemed useless (being unreadable most of the time). I guess you need a source for the sentence about the Indonesian immigrants. "The city is also home to immigrants from Indonesia."  :-) PID (talk) 04:28, 3 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
Wow, GB won't let me view that source. Here's their notification: "Restricted Page. You have reached your viewing limit for this book." However, just change .com.my to .com.vn or .com (maybe any domain other than .my) and we can read the page. :-P PID (talk) 00:28, 4 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (File:Malaysian Hockey Confederation Logo.svg) edit

Thanks for uploading File:Malaysian Hockey Confederation Logo.svg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 07:31, 22 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

List of active separatist movements in Asia edit

Hi Ranking Update, I've noticed you reverted my edit on the article, List of active separatist movements in Asia concerning the Bangsamoro Republik secession. First of all let me make a disclaimer, I don't advocate secessionist movements, especially these movement advocates violence. I just find the topic interesting.

Now let me explain my edit. I didn't put a source because the information supporting my edit is already in the Bangsamoro Republik article with references. Other secessionist movements don't have a reference either but articles that are linked have. As a seccesionist movement encompassing more than one country, I used the format used by the Cascadia secessionist movement in the North American list version. Cascadia is both listed in Canada and US.

  Canada edit

  United States edit

There is no source I can find if the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters wants Sabah and Sarawak. Only the MNLF want these states as part of their territory including Mindanao Sulu and Palawan.

Here's source http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/nation/regions/08/15/13/mnlf-returns-rebellion

By the way, you have a good user page.--Zuanzuanfuwa (talk) 13:07, 19 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Sabah edit

You shouldn't edit war, even if you are right - it would be a shame for you to get into trouble for doing the right thing. I was just reverting that edit so that you didn't need to, but you edit conflicted with me and did it first.

Thanks for looking after the articles like you do - but there's no need to risk an edit warring complaint over a silly IP battle. Keep up the good work. Cheers.

Incidentally, the IP geolocation and the distinctive style, and use of categories for POV pushing all give me a pretty good idea who that is. It's an indef blocked user, so if they continue, it won't be a problem. Begoontalk 17:35, 14 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, I didn't reply to your message on my talk page - been busy. If the IP user keeps adding POV incorrect stuff about Bangsamaro to the Sabah, Sarawak, North Borneo and related country/state articles, just remove, under WP:DENY. Don't edit war, though - if it gets unmanageable we'll just get the articles semi-protected. For now it's just the usual nuisance. Begoontalk 05:06, 17 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
