Talk page templates edit

I have added appropriate templates to the talk pages of the last ten or so temple pages you created, but I didn't realise you had created so many.

{{talkheader|bottom=yes}}
{{wpbs |1=
{{WP Hinduism |class=stub}}
{{WP Historic sites |class=stub}}
{{WP India |class=stub |needs-infobox=y |image-needed=y |assess-date= |tamilnadu=y}}
}}

Is what I added, I suggest that you add these to any more temples you create, and to those that still lack them. You can just copy and paste it off this page exactly as it appears here. I also copied these from a talk page that another editor had already added them to, so I can't guarantee they are exactly correct. 220 of Borg 10:41, 23 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I'm BeowulfBrower. B Jambulingam, thanks for creating Abimukeswarar Temple, Kumbakonam!

Other temples are Kasi Viswanathar Temple, Kumbeswarar Temple, Nageswara Temple, Someswarar Temple, Koteeswarar Temple, Kahahasteeswarar Temple, Gowthameswarar Temple, Amirthakalasanathar Temple, Banapuriswarar Temple, Kambatta Visvanathar Temple and Ekambareswarar Temple". Rajagopalaswamy Temple, Kumbakonam edit

User: Delzem, There are 17 Temples which have connection with the famous Mahamaham festival which is held once in 12 years in Mahamaham tank, Kumbakonam which is situated at Kumbakonam, in Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu, India. Of these 17 Hindu temples 12 temples belong to Shiva while the other are Vishnu Temples. In Hindu temples of Kumbakonam The left out temples have been added. Of the 12 Shiva temples 10 temples are found in Kumbakonam and are incorporated in Hindu temples of Kumbakonam. Other two Shiva temples are around Kumbakonam. Regarding Rajagopalaswamy Temple, Kumbakonam I wish to state that this is one of the five Vishnu temples connected with Mahamamaham. The five temples are Sarangapani Temple, Chakrapani Temple, Ramaswamy Temple, Rajagopalaswamy Temple, and Varahaperumal Temple. Of these five temples there were articles on the first three temples. As articles on Rajagopalaswamy Temple and Varahaperumal Temple, new article entitled Rajagopalaswamy Temple, Kumbakonam was started. Shortly article on Varaharaperumal Temple which is left out in this list, will be written. As the Mahamaham festival is a world renowned festival and the 17 temples are very important, I felt that no temple should be left out in Wiki and I started writing on them. As it is connected with Mahamaham festival the link is given with the Mahamaham. The Mahasamprokshanam also known as Kumbabishegam of the temple was held on June 19, 2015 and the information was added with the available link. Attempts have been made to improve the article and give links. Now the link in Mahamaham tank, Kumbakonam also about these temples was added. In due course, information will be added, whenever available. If you require any more information I will try to share. This information is shared in your user page also. Regards. --B Jambulingam (talk) 16:16, 23 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Thanjavur Nisumbasuthani Temple edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Thanjavur Nisumbasuthani Temple requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

This is one of the primary Sakthi temples in Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu. As this temple is existing since the period of Cholas, ie for nearly one thousand year, this temple gets importance. Though Big Temple of Thanjavur is known to one and all this temple is not known to everybody. Existence of a temple with a history of 1000 years would prove this. Only small number of temples have such a long history. Hope this will do. I request not to delete the article. Regards --B Jambulingam (talk) 11:24, 10 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Kumbakonam Brahma Temple edit

Hello B Jambulingam,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Kumbakonam Brahma Temple for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Dschslava Δx parlez moi 08:30, 27 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

It may be noted that though there were many Siva and Vishnu temples in Tamil Nadu especially in Kumbakonam, the Brahma temple of Kumbakonam is very famous for its having Brahma shrine at the right side of the main sanctum sanctoram. No temple is specially mentioned as Brahma temple in Tamil Nadu. In order to bring out the importance and the existence of Brahma in the temple this article is written. Brahma is generally referred as the Creator. I also wish to add I visited the temple many times in person and documented the relevant information Hope my clarification will help you understand the importance and I request you not to consider deleting the article. Regards. --B Jambulingam (talk) 03:05, 12 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Agastheeswaram Agastheeswarar Temple moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Agastheeswaram Agastheeswarar Temple, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hi thanks for your note. It’s fine to put YouTube videos into external links but I’m afraid Wikipedia does not accept YouTube as a reliable source so that does not help with notability. What we really need us another Tamil speaker who can verify that the sources provided are reliable, or that other reliable sources exist and can be added. I’m not going to remove the templates because I can’t do that verification myself. Don’t worry about the templates, and other editors will look at the page and improve it if they can. Orphan tag edit

User:John B123, Thank you very much for reviewing my articles. Many of my articles are given with Orphan tag. In this regard I wish to share the following. Now I am nearing to complete 300 articles in Wikipedia. Most probably I am writing on India, especially Tamil Nadu and that too on temples. Recently for the Wikipedia:WikiProject India/The 10,000 Challenge I wrote 70 articles many of which are on the temples of Tamil Nadu. In the Paadal Petra Sthalam and Vaippu Sthalam I have added more nearly 100 articles. I want the articles which are not found in Wikipedia to be added. So I am taking more efforts to add them with the available sources. In Tamil Wikipedia I wrote 1000+ articles and I am writing/translating from them many articles into English. Generally, the articles on Temples contain information such as location of the temple, name of the presiding deity, connected stories, the speciality, structure of the temple, other sculptures found in the temple, timing of pujas, worshipping time and so on. I am trying my level best to add them in the relevant category. I am facing difficulties For getting sources such as newspaper clippings/book references, as they are very rare. To the maximum extent possible I am adding the reliable sources. Though many temples are more than so many 100 years sources are limited. With this background I am not in a position to add more sources/links other than those which are included earlier. Though I have gone through the Orphan page and read every thing in that page, I could not able to proceed further, due to non-availability of links/sources. I hope that I clarified my position. I hereby request you to remove or help to remove the Orphan tag. If you advise me to share this in Teahouse I will do so. Your guidance will be of very much useful to continue writing. Regards. --B Jambulingam (talk) 07:16, 26 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi. First may I commend and thank you for all the contributions you have made. The orphan tag refers to links from other articles within Wikipedia not sources - see Wikipedia:Orphan. If nothing links to an article, very few people will see the article so your hard work will not be noticed.
One way of getting more links to an article would be to group temples together by location, deity or other commonality, and produce a navbox, similar Template:Temples in Varanasi. By placing this on the relevant pages, all the articles within the navbox link to all the others. This encourages readers looking at one temple page to look at others. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 18:03, 26 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
User:John B123, Thank you for your encouragement and advice. In this way can I create Template on Temples in Pudukkottai district and bring all the temples of Pudukkottai district into one place. I hope this will help me not to have the orphan tag. After getting your opinion I will proceed.Regards. --B Jambulingam (talk) 04:11, 27 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

An article you recently created, Nanjundeswarar Temple, Ezhumagalur, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). Vanakkam. The title of the Thanjavur Vellai Vinayakar Temple have been changed as Palace Devastanam Vinayaka Temples. In it, the information and photographs about Thanjavur Vellai Vinayakar Temple are added. So the three main articles Thopparankatti Pillayar Temple, Thanjavur and Archakasalai Pillayar Temple, Thanjavur may be deleted. --B Jambulingam (talk) 14:08, 17 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello, B Jambulingam

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username MPGuy2824, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, Adikesava Perumal Temple, Paramandur, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|MPGuy2824}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!

Vanakkam, MPGuy2824, Now I added three links about the location, pujas and sculptures. I request not to delete the article. I will improve this further. --B Jambulingam (talk) 14:56, 6 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hi Jambulingam, one of the new refs is a bare mention, one seems to be a blog, and i would need to do some research before concluding that vikatan.com is a WP:RS. That said, if you believe these sources are enough to counter the reasoning that i gave for adding the PROD tag, then feel free to remove it. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 02:17, 7 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
Vanakkam, MPGuy2824, This is considered one of the important Vaishnava temples in Pudukottai district, revered and worshipped by the devotees. I kept in mind what you said. I believe these sources are enough. Further, I will add more resources if I found in due course. I am removing the tag. Thank you for your opinion.--B Jambulingam (talk) 02:23, 7 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Government College of Fine Arts, Kumbakonam edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Government College of Fine Arts, Kumbakonam requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://artandculture.tn.gov.in/government-college-fine-arts-kumbakonam. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Andanoor Sura moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Andanoor Sura, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 11:22, 17 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

seeking help for creation of wikipedia page edit

hello, i saw on your page you had expertise of "Tamil Nadu Temples". i have tried twice now to create a page for Soliyar Brahmin in wikipedia (Choliyar / early brahmins of Chola land). they are misunderstood and discriminated against in Tamil Nadu, so I feel like it is important to be able to put them on Wikipedia. Some links that say "Soliyar Brahmin" in Wikipedia redirect to Iyer which is not correct since they are associated also with other Tamil castes like Thenkalai Iyengars. i only have 1 source (TP Mahadevan), do you know anyone who could gather more info on the Soliyars?
