You need to understand what Wikipedia is edit

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. All we do here is cite, summarize, and paraphrase professionally-published mainstream academic or journalistic sources, without addition, nor commentary.

Wikipedia is not a social media site. It's not the place to spam links to your favorite gaming sites. It is an encyclopedia.

We have a tutorial, The Wikipedia Adventure, if you would like to learn more about editing Wikipedia.

If you are not here to build an encyclopedia, you should find something else to do. Ian.thomson (talk) 18:38, 28 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

February 2019 edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but it appears you have written or added to an article about yourself, at Draft:Alex Cruz 289. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Alex Cruz 289 edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Alex Cruz 289, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Writing about yourself edit

You are welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, but it is not a social media site like Facebook or LinkedIn for people to write about themselves. It is a quite different sort of site, a project to build an encyclopedia, so it is selective about subjects for articles. Writing about oneself is strongly discouraged, for reasons explained at Wikipedia is not about YOU and Wikipedia:Autobiography.

You can find out more about Wikipedia at the WP:Welcome page and the WP:Introduction, as well as Wikipedia's plain and simple conflict of interest guide. Thanks. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 04:27, 4 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on your user page, User:AlexCruz289/sandbox/Alex Cruz 289, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Werner Goldschmidt moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Werner Goldschmidt, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Wesley Matthews Elementary School edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Wesley Matthews Elementary School requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://wesleymatthewses.net/wesley-w-matthews-bio/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Non-free rationale for File:Stickman-soccer-2016-league-bund.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Stickman-soccer-2016-league-bund.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 00:33, 25 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Please read the licensing box on the file. It provides a couple of templates that you can use to add a nonfree usage rationale. The information box you added is not a rationale. -- Whpq (talk) 22:22, 25 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits to NBA 2K19 edit

Hello, I'm VictorTorres2002. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, NBA 2K19, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. You are not an administrator edit

Would you care to explain this from your user page and this edit? You are not an administrator, nor do you have any idea what you are doing in this case. User:DoRD has undone your uncalled for edit with an edit comment of "Don't do this". I would expand on that and advise you to stick to editing articles to gain experience with creating an encyclopedia and the policies and guidelines that govern Wikipedia before wandering into more administrative type territory. -- Whpq (talk) 22:22, 4 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, I just had to do the right thing. It was a Sockpuppet so i had to do it, Besides, Wikipedia Actually lets users to edit sockpuppet/sockpuppeteers accounts. Can the founder of Wikipedia or a administrator fix this? -- AlexCruz289 (talk) 15:06, 5 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

No, you did not have to "do the right thing", and in any case, that was not "the right thing". DoRD undid your "right thing" and DoRD is an actual administrator. That should give you hint that it was in fact the wrong thing. -- Whpq (talk) 21:19, 8 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Image without license edit

Unspecified source/license for File:Https images.saymedia-content.com .image MTY4OTM2ODIzMDYwNDQxMDA0 usatsi 13704609.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Https images.saymedia-content.com .image MTY4OTM2ODIzMDYwNDQxMDA0 usatsi 13704609.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|cc-by-sa-4.0}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: Once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 12:45, 9 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on File:Https images.saymedia-content.com .image MTY4OTM2ODIzMDYwNDQxMDA0 usatsi 13704609.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement of https://www.si.com/nba/76ers/news/philadelphia-76ers-limit-josh-richardson-nuggets. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

2020–21 Montreal Canadiens season moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, 2020–21 Montreal Canadiens season, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published.
