Washington State Route 4 Revisions

My edit today was to clarify that, although State Route 4 is often referred to as The Ocean Beach Highway (and some maps indicate it as such for much of its length), it is only officially named Ocean Beach Highway, and signed as such, in Cowlitz County from the Wahkiakum County line to the point where State Route 4 turns on to Cowlitz Way on the border of Longview and Kelso. Addresses of residences and businesses reflect this... Wahkiakum County uses State Route 4, while Cowlitz County uses Ocean Beach Highway. Your revision is acceptable to me though as "also known as the Ocean Beach Highway" is more accurate than "officially known as the Ocean Beach Highway" in this case. It's a simpler edit and it works. @Cascade1988: You must cite a reliable source when changing content. Addresses are not a reliable source, but local newspapers and state-produced maps are. The text has been changed to remove the "official" bit, but the name remains commonly applied for the entire highway when looking at published reliable sources. @SounderBruce: Going along with your mention of local newspapers (which I agree with), there have been a few recent news articles in The Daily News regarding a landslide which has closed State Route 4 west of Cathlamet. The Daily News has been consistent with this, and other articles over the years, in referring to this portion of the highway as State Route 4 or simply SR4 and not as Ocean Beach Highway. Reversion of my edits to article Atlantic, Seattle

Hi SounderBruce! You reverted my edits to the article for which I created sections and removed text relating to Judkins Park. The creations of section was I confess loosely considered. However, I looked up the Washington city website and according to it, Judkins park is not a rectangular in Atlantic (as stated in the article) but another neighborhood in Seattle. Thus Its description in the article was out of topic. And hence I removed it. What do you think? @Dishita Bhowmik: The Judkins Park content was merged into the Atlantic article quite a long time ago and there isn't enough for either to survive as a standalone article. Your edit deleted the Judkins Park content and introduced very short sections. Seattle does not have official neighborhood boundaries (the maps are only suggestions and are nonbinding), so this should not be taken as "out of topic" because of the overlap. Shortiefourten, your photo gallery was removed because it does not comply with WP:GALLERY, the policy on using gallery sections in articles. A random assortment of pictures from Chehalis is not an appropriate use, but a selection of pictures depicting registered historic landmarks would be. @Wehwalt: Sorry that I didn't see this earlier. Given that there are major changes afoot for light rail in Seattle next month (including a name change for the line, which will affect all articles and the blurb), I would rather not have UW Station or Tukwila International Boulevard station run if possible. WikiCup 2020 March newsletter

And so ends the first round of the competition. Everyone with a positive score moves on to Round 2, with 57 contestants qualifying. We have abolished the groups this year, so to qualify for Round 3 you will need to finish Round 2 among the top thirty-two contestants.

Our top scorers in Round 1 were:

• Epicgenius, a WikiCup newcomer, led the field with a featured article, five good articles and an assortment of other submissions, specialising on buildings and locations in New York, for a total of 895 points.
• Gog the Mild came next with 464 points, from a featured article, two good articles and a number of reviews, the main theme being naval warfare.
• Raymie was in third place with 419 points, garnered from one good article and an impressive 34 DYKs on radio and TV stations in the United States.
• Harrias came next at 414, with a featured article and three good articles, an English civil war battle specialist.
• CaptainEek was in fifth place with 405 points, mostly garnered from bringing Cactus wren to featured article status.
• The top ten contestants at the end of Round 1 all scored over 200 points; they also included L293D, Kingsif, Enwebb, Lee Vilenski and CAPTAIN MEDUSA. Seven of the top ten contestants in Round 1 are new to the WikiCup.

These contestants, like all the others, now have to start scoring points again from scratch. In Round 1 there were four featured articles, one featured list and two featured pictures, as well as around two hundred DYKs and twenty-seven ITNs. Between them, contestants completed 127 good article reviews, nearly a hundred more than the 43 good articles they claimed for, thus making a substantial dent in the review backlog. Contestants also claimed for 40 featured article / featured list reviews, and most even remembered to mention their WikiCup participation in their reviews (a requirement).

Remember that any content promoted after the end of Round 1 but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2. Some contestants made claims before the new submissions pages were set up, and they will need to resubmit them. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews.

Monorail pictures

My compliments on your excellent work expanding Seattle Center Monorail. Do you think the inclusion of a photo of the temporary terminal that was in use for a year and a half starting in September 1986 is justified? I may have gotten one, but I have not yet checked my slides for that. By the way, now that you are going for GA, I think you need to add one photo of the interior (passenger area) of a train; Commons already has a few, though none is very good. I might have a better one, but not sure. I see you added something about the "red train" becoming the "green train", which is especially welcome in light of my recent addition of a (1982) photo of the latter. I hope you can find the approximate date that it went back to being red, although it's probably not essential. Do you plan to add anything on advertising paint schemes/wraps? That, too, is not really essential (might even be considered trivial), but the first one – at least I think it was the first (but I have no source for that) – lasted for many months, maybe a year or more, in 1984. It was a combination of paint (all-over black) and decals (Chinese dragon) advertising a Chinese exhibition at the Pacific Science Center and its main sponsor, Northwest Orient Airlines. @SJ Morg: Thanks for adding your photo of the original terminal in its last days (and the brief existence of the green train). I do think that a picture of the temporary terminal would be handy, as it could be displayed with {{multiple image}} alongside comparison shots of the two other iterations of the Westlake terminal. I'll be working on getting a good interior shot (either from my own un-uploaded library or taking fresh pictures). At the moment, I don't think I will be able to reliably source the various ad wraps, though I have seen passing mentions of the Northwest campaign in The Times; if I find a good source for the first wraps (which must have been quite a shock), then I'll add it in. Under what section should I post my edits / is a new heading/section needed?

Hello Sounderbruce, This is cleo.the.great, a fellow wikipedian. I am here to ask your advice on how to proceed with my edits on Lime (transportation company)

I wanted to post information on restrictions on Lime in the Tel Aviv location. You took them down, claiming it belongs in "an article about the 'locality'". What do you mean by this? Does this belong in a sub heading that already exists or is a new one needed?

What do you suggest?

Cleo.the.great, information about scooter regulations for a local area (in this case, Tel Aviv) should not be added to pages about international companies. Instead, it belongs in an article specifically about the local area (e.g. Transportation in Tel Aviv). If we added specific regulations for every city that Lime serves, the page would be very long and cumbersome to read. SounderBruce 18:57, 24 March 2020 (UTC)

I'm having some trouble with the issues you cited on the page I'm working on, can you please clarify the issues you perceive? In the article The Green Rush trying to write an article to help people understand what specifically makes up Cannabis Industry right now. Any notes at all would be helpful. @Jzesbaugh: I recommend getting someone knowledgeable about the subject and Wikipedia guidelines to help with rewriting the entry, as it reads too much like a promotional piece for the cannabis industry. You will need to bring in more than just the U.S./Canada unless you intend to make this only about those two countries. The article itself should also be moved to an appropriate title (Green rush or Growth of the cannabis industry in North America) or merged into an appropriate existing article. You also need to improve the citations, preferably using the Citation Style 1 series of templates instead of bare links. SounderBruce 04:06, 17 March 2020 (UTC)

1994 FIFA World Cup

Hello I have just seen your message on my talk page so came here to discuss the matter of the 1994 World Cup page. I feel that my version gives a more accurate representation of the host cities and what they were known as at the time during the tournament. I also feel as though the images I used are a lot better and more consistent. Hans23019, You should post your proposal at Talk:1994 FIFA World Cup first and take feedback before changing the table, which is a major element of the page.
