Totally makes sense! Thank you for this. If you could please delete this submission asap that would be great.
There are some third party sources mentioning WIS, albeit quite briefly:

- User:Josusky - If the WIS is mentioned only briefly, but the WMO, which is its parent, is discussed at length, then the conclusion is that the WIS is not independently notable and should be discussed in the article on the WMO. Robert McClenon (talk) 02:07, 2 October 2018 (UTC)
Hi. I had some questions on your recent review of the draft above that I left as a reply to the notification you left on my talk page. Kindly respond (feel free to answer here or directly on my talk page). Davykamanzi → talk • contribs • alter ego 09:15, 2 October 2018 (UTC)
- User:Davykamanzi - I do not normally follow a draft through the approval process and do not normally re-review a draft for paid editors. If you think that I made a mistake in my review, you may ask other editors for their opinions at the Teahouse. However, some of the sources that you provided are in the nature of press releases, published by third parties but based on information provided by the company. If you think that I made a mistake in my review and that a stand-alone article is mandatory for the company (as opposed to mention in the article about the parent company), ask for advice at the Teahouse. Request on 20:42:12, 2 October 2018 for assistance on AfC submission by Eileen Loveman Williams
edit
Thank you for your review of my article for creation. I did not write this to praise myself, rather to bring attention to the books I've written, articles of interest from various newspapers and magazines across the country, just like any other author I've read about on Wikipedia. Did you read my last revision noting my books and their ISBN numbers? I can remove the more personal notes in my opening statement and write it in a more neutral matter. Thank you for your suggestions. Eileen Loveman Williams
Eileen Loveman Williams (talk) 20:42, 2 October 2018 (UTC)
- User:Eileen Loveman Williams - Did you read the autobiography policy? Did you read the conflict of interest policy? Wikipedia is not interested in being a medium for "bringing attention to the books" that you have written, but only in describing the attention that they have already received, and authors are very seldom able to assess neutrally whether what they are writing is neutral or is promotional. Most of the other articles about authors in Wikipedia were written by neutral volunteer editors, not by the authors or their agents or families, and articles that were written by persons with a conflict of interest are often deleted. If you want the advice of other experienced editors about using Wikipedia to bring attention to your books, you may ask at the Teahouse. Robert McClenon (talk) 00:53, 3 October 2018 (UTC)
Sandbox - submission for review
editDear Robert McClenon, As you have notified it, I have submitted twice the same article (Richard Castelli) for review. I did it by mistake. The reason is that my article being not in the Sandbox anymore, and nowhere else?, I thought it had been lost. So I published it again. I am a new user and I am not very familiar with Wikipedia procedures yet, sorry. You can proceed to delete the second one. Can you tell me where I can find the first again if I need to update it? Thank you, --Maclang99 (talk) 13:28, 3 October 2018 (UTC)Maclang99
- User:Maclang99 - There are two copies of your draft, at Draft:Richard Castelli and User:Maclang99/sandbox. In my opinion, neither of them is ready to go into article space. Do you have an affiliation with Richard Castelli? Robert McClenon (talk) 17:25, 3 October 2018 (UTC)
Hi, Thank you for your fast and kind reply. Since you notified a possible COI, I would like to confirm that I have no affiliation with this personality, but having visited several of the exhibitions he curated and appreciating well the artists, he produces, I thought it would be interesting to find his biography on wikipedia as it does not exist yet. If my first article is approved this time, I would like to continue and propose a series dedicated to a number of living people from the arts and entertainment, especially those affiliated with science-art-technology. I would be grateful if you could give me your advices on what to modify so that the article could be admissible. Thank you in advance, --Maclang99 (talk) 14:14, 9 October 2018 (UTC)Maclang99
Hi, Please allow me to contact you again, because I am still waiting for your feedback since my last email in Oct. 2018 confirming I had no filiation with the topic and I haven't had any feedback from the teahouse when I asked for help either. I do not know what to do to improve my article. I am so disappointed that my work on this first article has not been reviewed again and do not understand the reasons why. I am looking forward to hear from you, thank you. --Maclang99 (talk) 16:28, 27 February 2019 (UTC)Maclang99
- User:Maclang99 - You say that you are still waiting for feedback since October 2018. Neither copy of your draft is currently tagged for review. Do you want to submit one of the copies for review? Robert McClenon (talk) 18:47, 27 February 2019 (UTC)
Hello, Thank you for your feedback. I would like to submit my DRAFT:Richard Castelli for review -As explained above, I created a duplicate on my user page by mistake, not at the good place, so to be deleted. I don't understand how to proceed to tag the draft -and delete the duplicate on my user page-. Thanks again for your help. --Maclang99 (talk) 11:49, 28 February 2019 (UTC)Maclang99
Hello, This is to inform you I have deleted the duplicate and published the page. Is it fine with you? I had already answered about my non-affiliation with the subject in October. Thank you --Maclang99 —Preceding undated comment added 17:08, 12 March 2019 (UTC)

- User:Vmaske] - I do not normally follow a draft through the approval process, and have not researched its subject in detail. As I said in my review, the article appears to have been written to praise its subject rather than to describe him neutrally. I do not have any specific suggestions, but would advise you to rework the article and write it in neutral rather than positive language. (I know that that is not easy, and that many new editors want to present as positive as possible a view of the subject.) Nigel Collins (musician)
editthanks for the comment - yes I think he does qualify, under these music notability criteria:
1. he's played with Flight of the Conchords on tours of the USA/Canada (2009 & 2016), UK/Europe (2010 & 2018), Australia & New Zealand (2012). All of these were extensively covered by local press in each country, which often explicitly mentioned him as part of the show. Likewise for the Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra, which has played in the UK, China, USA, Australia, Japan. He's also been filmed this year in London with the Conchords for a forthcoming live concert special/doco by HBO
2. The Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra, his band, made the top 20 album charts in New Zealand in 2015 https://www.nztop40.co.nz/index.php/chart/nzalbums?chart=2625
4. see the Conchords and Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra tours mentioned for criteria 1 above; and also note 4 in the article itself
6. band member of Flight of the Conchords, and the Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra, credited as a pivotal band in the recent international ukulele revival http://ukulelehunt.com/2009/02/24/wellington-international-ukulele-orchestra-outkast-hey-ya-chords/ http://ukulelehunt.com/2008/08/14/wellington-international-ukulele-orchestra-its-a-heartache/
12. he was interviewed by Eva Radich on Radio New Zealand in 2008 about his various bands and other music, including his international touring with the Flight of the Concords https://www.radionz.co.nz/concert/programmes/upbeat/audio/1817390/nigel-collins

Speedy deletion nomination of User:Kumar.dpkkmr.dipak/sandbox
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on User:Kumar.dpkkmr.dipak/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Dear Team...I have been trying to sumit this article for Rakesh Khanna, MD & CEO, Orient Electric Limited. I have been working within the oprganisation for more than three years now. Also, I have included independent news sources to verify the person's profile and career. Please guide me as what additional information I should submit as this is important for a established and stock listed company like Orient Electric to have its MD & CEO profile on Wikipedia.
Hitithard100 (talk) 04:57, 10 October 2018 (UTC)
- User:Hitithard100 - First, it may be important to Orient Electric to have an article about Khanna. That doesn't make it important to Wikipedia. We have rules of notability and neutrality, and notability is based on independent coverage, not on what the company says about its CEO. Second, both another reviewer and I told you that you need to provide independent sources that are not affiliated with the company and that are not press releases. Third, I do not normally follow an article through the approval process, and I do not follow an article through the approval process for a paid editor, and I do not intend to guide you through providing the independent information that you need to provide. You may ask for advice at the Teahouse. Some of the editors there are more willing to assist paid editors than I am. DTHOMPSOWI (talk) 23:07, 11 October 2018 (UTC)
- User:DTHOMPSONWI - Before trying to submit a draft article to Wikipedia, it is a good idea to have a general understanding of what Wikipedia is and is not and what articles it has. You apparently came in to Wikipedia to try to do the hardest task that can be done in Wikipedia, to create a new article, complete with the references, and you don't understand the rules, which is not your fault, but is not our fault either. You may simply be trying to do something that isn't going to work, just like you can't drive a car at 600 miles per hour or fly a 747 to the moon. I suggest that you first read Your First Article and play The Wikipedia Adventure, and take your time reading the questions of other new editors at the Teahouse. After you know what questions to ask, ask them. It isn't clear to me that there is anything that you can do to change the draft to make it acceptable, but read what I advised. AFC chemistry
editYou might consider passing on AFC's for chemistry articles to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Chemistry or even to me. A lot of the articles are for homework and the kids would benefit from a chem editor's advice. If there were a way to sort AFCs by subject, I would. Thanks, --Smokefoot (talk) 15:23, 14 October 2018 (UTC)
- User:Smokefoot - Thanks. I can handle the chemistry AFCs myself. My degree in the subject is 49 years old, but is better than nothing and is more chemistry than most people know. I can pass the chemistry on to the project, as I do for some projects. If you want the chemistry AFCs, I can send them to you, but I can handle them myself. Robert McClenon (talk) 15:51, 14 October 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks. 49 years and the same periodic table and the same thermodynamics... So good luck. I had heard that AFCs were overwhelming those that tend to them, hence the gesture.--Smokefoot (talk) 19:41, 14 October 2018 (UTC)
- User:Smokefoot - Yes. They have added a few elements at the end of the periodic table, but they don't last long enough to have chemistry that can be tested experimentally, and the quantum-theoretical models of electron clouds break down, so that neither experiment nor theory can be used, so there isn't any chemistry. The inconsistency with the thermodynamics always was whether the positive sign meant enthalpy into the system or enthalpy out of the system. I read a few papers by Clausius, and he, Clausius, was inconsistent in his sign conventions, and that hasn't changed. As to the AFCs, the scientific drafts are not the overwhelming ones. I accept the chemistry and biology drafts if they look reasonable and have at least one reliable source. With the physics and mathematics drafts, it is a matter of using scientific common sense to determine whether they are science or some sort of some sort of woo. If a draft has to do with anything that happened more than a hundred years ago and has at least one reliable source, I accept it; it has aged out of conflict of interest into history. The ones that I have a hard time on are the small companies and the musicians. I usually get lazy and leave a note in them that I am leaving them for another reviewer. Responding to your comment (ref: Boa Morte): "Does this group satisfy any of the musical notability criteria, or will it have to be evaluated based on general notability?"
editHi Robert,
This group satisfies the music notability criteria as follows: 1. The group has had their work reviewed by the following publications: Q Magazine, Mojo Magazine, Uncut Magazine, The Irish Times, The Irish Independent, The Metro-Herald, Hot Press Magazine, 4. Has toured the UK and Ireland on separate occasions, receiving coverage from several UK regional newspapers and radio stations, and national music publication Hit Press. Toured Ireland on their own and in support of noted Scottish band Teenage Fanclub. Toured the UK with other bands on their record label (Shoeshine Records) 5. Initially signed to US Indie label Moodfood Records, who went bankrupt. Then released debut album on Scottish indie label Shoeshine Records. This label is a long-standing label with a roster of bands and is owned by Teenage Fanclub member Francis MacDonald. Released second album on their own label. 9. Their debut album was placed at number 204 in the "250 Greatest Irish Albums of all Time" by a panel of national music journalists, published in Hot Press magazine, ahead of albums by U2, Van Morrison, Enya and other internationally-recognised Irish groups 11. Has not been placed on rotation, but their work has been played by the following broadcasters nationally: BBC (John Peel show, several occasions), RTE (several occasions), Today FM (Ireland - several occasions).

Responding to your comment on "Chinese translation of Australian Defence Force Academy(ADFA)"
editHi Robert, This is James Li. Thank you for the review of my Chinese translation of Australian Defence Force Academy(ADFA). The reason why it was written in Chinese is because it was a translation of the original page. Links are as follows: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australian_Defence_Force_Academy I was interested in this original article and noticed that there was no Chinese version. Therefore, I translated it into Chinese. I am just wondering is there any chance that my Chinese translation can be attached to the original page as a Chinese version? And what should I do to make it happen if it is ok. Thanks for your time reviewing my draft! Regards, James — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jameswenlongli (talk • contribs) 09:02, 16 October 2018 (UTC)
- User:Jameswenlongli - This is the English Wikipedia. The English Wikipedia does not have foreign-language versions of articles. Have you looked at the Chinese Wikipedia? Does it have an article on the Australian Defence Force Academy, in Chinese? If not, I would assume that you can submit your version to the Chinese Wikipedia, although I am not familiar with the Chinese Wikipedia or its policies and guidelines (and cannot read Chinese). You may ask any more questions about translations of articles at the Teahouse, but the English Wikipedia does not have articles in languages other than English (and I assume that the Chinese Wikipedia does not have articles in languages other than Chinese). Hello Robert McClenon, thank you for your work reviewing New Pages!
- Backlog
As of 21 October 2018[update], there are 3650 unreviewed articles and the backlog now stretches back 51 days.
- Community Wishlist Proposal
- There is currently an ongoing discussion regarding the drafting of a Community Wishlist Proposal for the purpose of requesting bug fixes and missing/useful features to be added to the New Page Feed and Curation Toolbar.
- Please join the conversation as we only have until 29 October to draft this proposal!
- Project updates
- ORES predictions are now built-in to the feed. These automatically predict the class of an article as well as whether it may be spam, vandalism, or an attack page, and can be filtered by these criteria now allowing reviewers to better target articles that they prefer to review.
- There are now tools being tested to automatically detect copyright violations in the feed. This detector may not be accurate all the time, though, so it shouldn't be relied on 100% and will only start working on new revisions to pages, not older pages in the backlog.
- New scripts
- User:Enterprisey/cv-revdel.js(info) — A new script created for quickly placing {{copyvio-revdel}} on a page.

I've removed the template for now, but was wondering whether there were any specific concerns of yours that I might address. Thanks so much! --MeerkatShadow (talk) 04:43, 23 October 2018 (UTC)
Hi Robert, Thank you for your reply and suggestions. I tried clicking on both the links but they both said I didn't have the required permission and need to be an established user. I was logged din when I tried so I can only assume that it's because I haven't had my articles published yet. Oita Natalie (talk) 10:13, 23 October 2018 (UTC)
Regarding the Matthew Proman page that you reviewed and rejected, I have a question. While I understand your comment about needing additional citations, I don't understand the issue with the references I did submit. The references I used were previously vetted by another Wiki editor. They were already reviewed and considered to have met both the reliable and independent criteria. So how are they not acceptable now? Thank you for explaining this, as I want to make the article suitable.

- User:Navysaylorgirl - My own opinion is that he is entitled to a mention in Wikipedia, and that he is mentioned in the article on the organization that he founded. If you think that I should have accepted your draft, you may ask other editors at the Teahouse for their opinions.
- Do you have any affiliation or connection with Matthew Proman? If so, please see the conflict of interest policy. Robert McClenon (talk) 16:15, 23 October 2018 (UTC)

editAllow me to create Nissan Terrano article like is on German Wikipedia: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_Terrano
editPlease allow me to create this page about Nissan Terrano mid-size SUV as like I told before, this SUV isn't related to Nissan Pathfinder as it has different engines and different designers were involved to make the vehicle customizations which aren't the same as Nissan Pathfinder. Nissan Terrano has three generations for now, currently the third generation only available in Asia for sale and I have made a main article category for the second generation of Nissan Terrano (Nissan Terrano II)
- I do not normally follow a draft through the approval process. The draft appears to be Draft:Nissan Terrano. I will address your request within 48 hours. Please sign your posts to talk pages. Robert McClenon (talk) 04:43, 25 October 2018 (UTC)
- User:Rejs12345 - Please see my comments on the draft. Please correct the reference error and remove the comment at the bottom of the article. Robert McClenon (talk) 05:07, 25 October 2018 (UTC)
- User:Rejs12345 - I have created a special article about the first generation Nissan Terrano: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft/Nissan_Terrano_I which I would like from other Wikipedia users to give information and contribute to improve and expand it. Generally, the Nissan Terrano article should be available as an independent article because now it has two main articles, Nissan Terrano I (or Nissan Terrano WD21) and Nissan Terrano II

On the article about Li Pei
editDear Robert, thank you for your guidance on the page Draft:Li Pei . I've added more content and references in Chinese into the article. Hope this will justify the notability of the subject. I would also draw your attention on the fact that this article exists in Chinese language as well at https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/李佩 , but am not sure how to make the link between the two languages. Could you please help? Thanks again. Hongkongneteyes--Hongkongneteyes (talk) 06:24, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
How can I use the reject feature in AFCH?
editFlooded with them hundreds 08:44, 29 October 2018 (UTC)
- User:Flooded with them hundreds - If you don't have the option of Reject when selecting the red Reject/Decline button, or if the red button is only a Decline button, then the version of the AFCH tool that you have installed doesn't handle Reject. How to install a more current version of the AFCH script is a question for another reviewer. Try the AFCH Help Desk. Robert McClenon (talk) 10:40, 29 October 2018 (UTC)
Before the Bang (talk) 02:04, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
Hello Robert, This is Before the Bang (talk) 02:04, 30 October 2018 (UTC) writing regarding the page Lin Shu-ling. The page has been tagged regarding neutrality and notability. I feel these issues have now been addressed and ask if you could please check the page again. Regarding notability, I have included over ten different media references referring to Lin Shu-ling as a leading activist in the Taitung Miramar Resort protest. This includes several published articles where Lin is either the sole subject of the article, or a main subject. I have also referenced interviews or observations from two different academic thesis, including Timothy Chen's Imaginative Geographies and State Reliance, 2015, and Glenn Smith 2015: Indigenous activists win legal battles.
Additionally, every other statement in the article has been referenced. If for some reason, this is still not enough according to Wikipedia regulations, or if there are any other problems with any of the sources, could you please let me know and i will immediately address it.
However, if, upon review, you feel that the article has now been adequately sourced and complies to neutrality standards, could you please remove the tags. Thanks for your attention to this matter, Before the Bang (talk) 02:04, 30 October 2018 (UTC)

Since the last newsletter, the Editing Team has wrapped up most of their work on the 2017 wikitext editor and the visual diff tool. The team has begun investigating the needs of editors who use mobile devices. Their work board is available in Phabricator. Their current priorities are fixing bugs and improving mobile editing.
Recent changes
edit- The Editing team has published an initial report about mobile editing.
- The Editing team has begun a design study of visual editing on the mobile website. New editors have trouble doing basic tasks on a smartphone, such as adding links to Wikipedia articles. You can read the report.
- The Reading team is working on a separate mobile-based contributions project.
- The 2006 wikitext editor is no longer supported. If you used that toolbar, then you will no longer see any toolbar. You may choose another editing tool in your editing preferences, local gadgets, or beta features.
- The Editing team described the history and status of VisualEditor in this recorded public presentation (starting at 29 minutes, 30 seconds).
- The Language team released a new version of Content Translation (CX2) last month, on International Translation Day. It integrates the visual editor to support templates, tables, and images. It also produces better wikitext when the translated article is published. [1]
Let's work together
edit- The Editing team wants to improve visual editing on the mobile website. Please read their ideas and tell the team what you think would help editors who use the mobile site.

Re: Articles for creation: William Cash (journalist) (November 1)
editHi, Thank you for your recent review and comments you left.
1.
- Comment: The subject appears to be best known for Spears Magazine, but Spears Magazine doesn't have an article of its own and so would not seem to be notable. Other than that, notability is not inherited from his father or anyone else.
- Please note, Spears Magazine does have an article of its own.
2.
- Comment: This draft appears to have been reference-bombed with non-independent and low-quality sources.
- Some "low-quality sources" (less authoritative) can be removed in order to reduce the amount of citations used. The rest come from sources such as: The Guardian, The Independent, Financial Times and are there to prove and support the biography. BellaAw (talk) 14:43, 2 November 2018 (UTC)

Dear Sir,
Subject: Creation of page A Group of 87-ag-AGRI@UAF
Thank you for your kind review on my article. I want t clear that the Group "A Group of 87-ag-AGRI@UAF" is a social club of the class. If I resubmit the article after changing the name as "Social Club 87-ag-AGRI UAF" (as a page in the same name is also exits on Facebook as Admin and moderator of "A Group of 87-ag-AGRI@UAF"), then will it be qualified to publish at Wikipedia. I also to clear that through this article we will enable to serve the fellows across the world. Please consider this effort as a beginning of the reunion of classmates. Further I do not understand that how the group credentials could not be verified as the record of the group is available on Facebook. I can add URL for reference as "https://www.facebook.com/groups/395773730618324/" and and "https://www.facebook.com/Social-CLUB-87-ag-AGRI-UAF-1946454738989253/" which is verifiable.
I also see a similar page on Wikipedia which in the name of "Mocha Uson Blog" .
Goraya2005 (talk) 08:47, 4 November 2018 (UTC)
- User:Goraya2005 - Is the above post a question about Wikipedia policies, or a statement (that is incorrect) about Wikipedia policies? There are at least two problems with the draft. First, the draft has no references, and so lacks verifiability. Second, the group is not notable. I suggest that you re-read the verifiability policy and the organizational notability again, and that you read the section on significant organizational coverage two more times. I will note that Facebook is not considered a reliable source. ~~
- You write that "through this article we will enable to serve the fellows across the world". Wikipedia is not the means to provide a service to a group, such as a group of alumni/alumnae, or to provide any service other than to Wikipedia's readers. Wikipedia is not a web host to assist in sponsoring reunions of classmates, or to provide any other service to groups other than its readers. Robert McClenon (talk) 15:53, 4 November 2018 (UTC)
- Any further comments can be made at the draft talk page, where they will be on record for other reviewers. If you have any further questions, you may ask at the Teahouse. Robert McClenon (talk) 15:53, 4 November 2018 (UTC)
- User:Goraya2005 - The Facebook group described in your draft is not comparable to Mocha Uson Blog. Mocha Uson Blog has received significant attention in reliable sources, both because of controversies surrounding its founder, Mocha Uson, and because of its advocacy of Rodrigo Duterte. ANI ComplainteditYou are mistaken, or misinformed. I filed an ANI complaint against the arbitrary and uncivil behavior of Guy Macon yesterday, so your complaint today appears to be retaliation, or harassment. You might go back to the beginning of this to understand that I did NOT edit any article, but merely attempted to send a message to two other editors on their talk pages seeking comments on a proposal for a new project. Jimbo Wales talk page contains a permanent banner inviting such messages. Regardless what you may think about my proposal, Guy Macon was uncivil when he summarily deleted my message without discussion and proceeded to start insulting me. Since then he has followed me around Wikipedia and has posted derogatory comments at every location where I have left a message. That, I believe, constitutes stalking, or what others may call harassment. So, in effect, you are doing the dirty work for a stalker. I respectfully request you take another look at your role in this dispute please. Mervyn Emrys (talk) 19:55, 6 November 2018 (UTC)

Kaihan Krippendorff article
editHello @Robert_McClenon, Thank you for your comments on the article I am working on creating - Kaihan Krippendorff. You asked if I have any financial ties or otherwise to Mr. Krippendorff. I do not. I heard him speak at Columbia Business School at an event and read his books. His contribution to management thinking is noteworthy. I worked to update the language to remove anything that seems promotional - my apologies as my writing style may have come across this way. I am a fairly new wikipedia contributor and believe dr. Krippendorff's work is noteworthy and belongs in the wiki lexicon. I would appreciate the opportunity to continue working on the page until it is fit to add. Would it be possible for you to take a look at the page again (since I have updated it) and let me know what your thoughts are on moving it into the main article space? Sincerely, Slotmachiner (talk) 15:29, 7 November 2018 (UTC)Slotmachiner
- The draft in question is Draft:Kaihan Krippendorff, and it has been nominated for deletion. At present, the question is whether to delete the draft, not whether to move it into article space. Please do not insult me by asking me to move it to article space while there is a deletion discussion. Any further discussion should be in the deletion discussion. If you do not understand, please ask for advice at the Teahouse rather than asking me to move it to article space. By the way, you did not remove the language that I had criticized. Publish redirect
editHi! I've just noticed that you removed the AFC submission template from Draft:Cohen-Tannoudji. I'm kind of confused as I thought that was the way I was supposed to publish it, as I'm yet to be able to create and move articles in the English Wikipedia. Where/how should I ask for that Draft to be moved or for the redirect to be created? --Kakahuete (talk) 11:43, 9 November 2018 (UTC)
- User:Kakahuete - AFC review is for article drafts, not for redirects. Your redirect, in draft space, is already pointing correctly at Claude Cohen-Tannoudji. However, now that I understand what you want, which is to have his surname redirect to his full name, I have moved the draft entry. Please check this and see if it is what you wanted. NPR Newsletter No.15 16 November 2018

Chart of the New Pages Patrol backlog for the past 6 months. |
Hello Robert McClenon,
- Community Wishlist Survey – NPP needs you – Vote NOW
- Community Wishlist Voting takes place 16 to 30 November for the Page Curation and New Pages Feed improvements, and other software requests. The NPP community is hoping for a good turnout in support of the requests to Santa for the tools we need. This is very important as we have been asking the Foundation for these upgrades for 4 years.
- If this proposal does not make it into the top ten, it is likely that the tools will be given no support at all for the foreseeable future. So please put in a vote today.
- We are counting on significant support not only from our own ranks, but from everyone who is concerned with maintaining a Wikipedia that is free of vandalism, promotion, flagrant financial exploitation and other pollution.
- With all 650 reviewers voting for these urgently needed improvements, our requests would be unlikely to fail. See also The Signpost Special report: 'NPP: This could be heaven or this could be hell for new users – and for the reviewers', and if you are not sure what the wish list is all about, take a sneak peek at an article in this month's upcoming issue of The Signpost which unfortunately due to staff holidays and an impending US holiday will probably not be published until after voting has closed.

Hi there. As you were the closing editor at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Cities/Archive 19#Request for comment, you may wish to view the page history at Riverdale, Bronx. Cheers. Magnolia677 (talk) 00:17, 17 November 2018 (UTC)
- User:Magnolia677, User:Beyond My Ken - Yes. I closed that RFC two years ago. Discuss the content issue at Talk: Riverdale, Bronx. I see that the only statements of opinions have been via edit summaries, and edit summaries do not count as discussion for purposes of content dispute resolution. My closure of that RFC is a starting point. It isn't much of a starting point for two reasons. The first is its age, and Consensus Can Change. The second is that WikiProjects do not have content authority. (There was an ArbCom case in which the ArbCom rejected a suggestion that WikiProjects have content authority over whether articles should have infoboxes, and that is because WikiProjects are informal and voluntary.) The RFC was on a WikiProject talk page, not on the talk page of the article in question, and not on a Manual of Style talk page, and did not go into the Manual of Style. So there is a very non-binding opinion, and the next step is discussion on the article talk page. If discussion on the article talk page is inconclusive, see the dispute resolution policy. Some dispute resolution steps could be a non-binding Third Opinion, a binding Request for Comments on the article talk page, or a binding RFC on the Manual of Style. Moving a Draft (This Is It)
editHi! I need some help. I'm trying to post the new article that was you just moved from a draft. However, when I post it it refers me to another link (album where the single is from). I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong. Can you please help? Thanks in advance. Ptebwwong (talk) 05:50, 18 November 2018 (UTC) Ptebwwong (talk) 05:55, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
- User:Ptebwwong - What you are probably doing wrong is trying to move what has already been moved. What are you trying to do? See This Is It (Scott McCreery song). You don't need to do anything. Robert McClenon (talk) 09:04, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
Hi! I see the page that I drafted & was moved. The problem seems to be when I try to use the following: This Is It & try to use it in an existing article. For example, I'm trying to link the new moved page in the artist's discography page. However, when I post the aforementioned format, it links me to a different page than the one you moved. I'm wondering if my formatting in incorrect, link is incorrect, or something else is wrong. Ptebwwong (talk) 1:46, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
- User:Ptebwwong - This one puzzled me too. However, take a very careful look at the exact wording of the two references, to This Is It (Scott McCreery song), and This Is It (Scotty McCreery song). What form of his name is being makes the difference. The use of his exact name takes you to the song. The use of the familiar form (to a Northerner, the boy's form) of his name takes you to the album that the song is in, because the redirect was there before you wrote the article on the song. Robert McClenon (talk) 16:33, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
I see the problem is now with the title of the article. I want to edit it. But what is the proper procedure to do this? Should I request it be moved or just rename it? Thanks for all your help!Ptebwwong (talk) 17:07, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
- User:Ptebwwong - What page do you want to move/rename? If all that you want to do is to create an additional name by which the page can be accessed, I would suggest just moving it boldly. If you are proposing to do anything that will result in a lookup having different results, you should discuss it. What do you want to do? Robert McClenon (talk) 21:18, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
I want the article name to be changed to "This Is It (Scotty McCreery song)" instead of "This Is It (Scott McCreery song)." It shouldn't produce different search results. So I guess your option 1 might fit, but please read my following thoughts. However, as you mentioned there was already an existing redirect I did not know about. I want the article I wrote to replace everything in the redirect, but under the new title with Scotty not Scott. If I try to move/rename it myself, would it automatically take what I wrote or would complications still arise with the page? Thank you for being so patient with me! I've edited before on Wiki, but never started a page & it seems I'm having a problem figuring this out. Ptebwwong (talk) 22:58, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
- User:Ptebwwong - The primary title is now This Is It (Scott McCreery song), but the redirect makes This Is It (Scotty McCreery song) a working alternate title. I took care of that yesterday. I can see that you would like to swap which title is primary, but that really isn't necessary. If you were to try to change this by moving the article, it wouldn't work because the two titles (one primary, one redirect) are already there. I can do what is known as a round-robin move to swap them. That requires the Page Mover privilege, and I have the Page Mover privilege. I don't plan to do that today; it isn't high on my priority list. Robert McClenon (talk) 01:49, 19 November 2018 (UTC)
Ok. The swap using the page move privilege seems to be the best move. I understand not doing it today. Thank you for all your help & patience with this beginner!Ptebwwong (talk) 2:14, 19 November 2018 (UTC)

Article naming
editHi, Thanks for reviewing and approving my article for main space. I was wondering why the name was changed. I thought I had draft named it as Standing Committee on Finance (India). If I had not, I am terribly sorry. I have been making these articles along these lines as can be seen from the other articles I have made and was hoping to remain consistent.
- Standing Committee on Defence (India)
- Estimates Committee (India)
- Committee on Public Undertakings (India)
Also there must be many countries which have a Standing Committee on Finance, so the country disambiguator would also serve the purpose. Moreover I am not sure if I can change / rename an article or that I am allowed to do so. So I would really appreciate if you rename the article to Standing Committee on Finance (India). Cheers --Politicoindian (talk) 01:38, 21 November 2018 (UTC)
- User:Politicoindian - I didn't remove India from the name. I have looked at the history of the article, and you never put India in the name. I have moved the article. Anyone can move an article unless it has been protected. Robert McClenon (talk) 04:08, 21 November 2018 (UTC)
- I am terribly sorry for the error and am grateful for your kind words and swift action. Cheers --Politicoindian (talk) 16:40, 21 November 2018 (UTC)

Re: Anthony Bell Autobiography
editHi I have now an updated written autobiography of Anthony Bell, may I please ask for your review for me to know if the said update article is can be uploaded or added here in Wikipedia. Just kindly let me know if my article still requires an improvement and I will be happy to do it to suit in your and in Wikipedia's requirements.
Thank you, SarahReal
- User:SarahReal - What is your connection to Anthony Bell? Please read the conflict of interest policy and the paid editing policy and make any required disclosures. Since you refer to the page as an autobiography, but since you do not appear to be Anthony Bell, it appears that you are working for Anthony Bell. Also please read the autobiography policy, which discourages the submission of autobiographies.
- It does not appear that the page satisfies biographical notability for Bell. If you have any further questions, such as about the policies and guidelines of Wikipedia and how it is not a means for advertising or for publicizing your client, you may ask at the Teahouse. AfC notification: Draft:John Ferrar has a new comment
editThe article I submitted was not named https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:John_Ferrar_(Virginia_settler). It was John Ferrar, deputy treasurer Virginia Company.for@Robert McClenon:I am of a different generation and a different background than, perhaps, most and I do write in an “archaic” style. Probably because I “cut my teeth”on the classics, of which I read over 150 by age 18. I was also critiqued for using the phrase “with child”, but saying she was pregnant,is a turn off. You wouln’t say that Queen Victoria was pregnant would you.? I have scratched my head as to how I could put more work into this article. I can’t unless I start copying almost wholesale letters written by him or to him by thelikes of Edwin Sandys, the treasurer of the Virginia Company as well as agents and stockholders in said company. Anyone familiar with the importance of the Virginia Company and the Papers of the Virginia Company,as well as the voluminous Ferrar Papers would know how instrumental he was in the administration of the enterprise and thus vital to the preservation of the early colony, which lead to the the formation of the United States itself, of course he was not the only such actor his brother Nicholas Ferrar was another, as well as many an investor, never the less he played an important role. I would like to include such a statement, but it is “peacock” language. There are over 3000 documents in the papers of the Virginia company Then there is Charles M Gayle, Shakespeare and the founders of Liberty In America,p 90. “Thesee men and their fellow patriots were already by charters of1609,1618 (2nd and 3rd charter), the founders of the representative government of Virginia and by Charter of 1620 of representative government of New England.
He goes on to credit this men of the Virginia company with essentially laying the ground work for the representative government that we have today (My words) Alvanhholmes (talk) 04:06, 22 November 2018 (UTC)
The above was a response to your post on John Ferrar. Deputy Treasurer . This addresses John Ferrar Esquire.
There are indeed quotes from the source, but I encapsulatd them with " to show that they were quotes, they were typed, not copied and pasted, at great effort" and the quotes were referenced per wiki requirements.
Is there something wrong with using "quotes"? You say that it needs additional work. Any clues. I can't think of any? ThanksAlvanhholmes (talk) 04:17, 22 November 2018 (UTC) Apologies for making a series of posts, but not good at multitasking (removal of a brain tumor and a series of radiation). I go back and read your comments on my drafts. In one you ask "if indeed they are form Lincolnshire". William Ferrar (the settler) was born and christened in Lincolnshire and his father owned property there, and other places as well, but he was not from Lincolnshire, though he is referred to as Gent of London and Lincolnshire.
As I stated, I was quoting a will in which he mentioned the properties that he left to his heirs. I felt that was necessary to substantiate the claim that he was a man of means, as were the Ferrars.
You suggested a brief article on the Farrar family. Such an article can not be brief, as the history of the family is writ large over West Riding Yorkshire, Berkshire, Hertfordshire, London and other counties like Lincolnshire. And the origin of the family is quite curious and hard to prove (I am the project manager for a DNA surname project, annd the Farrars appear to have a very unique origin, not proveable, but deduced. And the origin of the name is occupational (Ferror), some of this can be referenced, some comes from work done in the 1950's, not published, but shared with family. It is quite interesting as it involves Edward IV, Richard III when Duke of Gloucester and 16 years of age, the War of the Roses, the Arrival of Edward IV, and the impregnation of the daughter of a supporter (Sir John Pilkington or Edmund Pilkington), and a gift of land in West Riding Yorkshire to a poor tenant, an archer in the levy of Sir John Pilkington. All very interesting, but all not sufficiently supported in the manner required by wiki. More of a book, not something that can be done briefly, nor would it fulfill the requirements legitimately demanded by wiki.
the best I can do then is create articles on two notable and significant members of the family, whose roles were, in their own way, instrumental for the establishment of a colony which grew into the United States of America, and the very beginnings of a representative form of government.. the House of Burgesses. As you can see Ido not have the ability to be brief. I have researched this family since 1962, and been nvolved in genetic genealogy since 2009.
Alvanhholmes (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 05:18, 22 November 2018 (UTC)
Thank you. I disambiguatted them with their titles i.e. John Ferrar, Deputy Treasurer Virginia Company and John Ferrar the elder, Esquire John Ferrar the elder was not a settler. To my knowledge he never visited Virginia. What makes him notable is that he was a man of means, a London Merchant. I should eliminate the Lincolnshire from his who financed his son William Farrar (the settler), and was himself an investor in the Virginia Company. John Ferrar was granted the Coat of Arms mentioned in the article in 1609, he was also the owner of Westwood mentioned in the Visitation of Surrey. Besides his wealth he was notable in his own right as in 1609 he was given a coat of arms by Clarenceaux and subsequently mentioned in the Visitation of Surrey. But I doubt that there are articles on every person who was awarded a coat of Arms. However his wealth and his relationship to Nicholas and John Ferrar of the Virginia company, sufficed to subsidize and probably encourage his son William Farrar the settler, to undertake the adventure which in the words of Charles M. Gayley"these men an d their fellow patriots were already by the charters of 1609-1618, the founders of representative government in Virginia and by the Charter of 1620 of Representative Government in New England as well". In a word, the seed from which sprang the United States of America. Were it not for the two John Ferrars, cousins, there would not be a United States of America. Now how do I put that or something like that in a Lead section, without using "peacock" language? Alvanhholmes (talk) 16:22, 22 November 2018 (UTC)

Chembox assistance
editHowdy! Based on your expertise in chemistry I'm hoping you might be willing to help me with a project. I'm working on building a {{Infobox}} based replacement for {{Chembox}}. I have a working proof of concept at {{Infobox chemical}} but am looking for some expert feedback. For example, some of the labels are a bit long and verbose so I'd like to try to condense them. I'm no good with chemistry so I want to make sure I keep the important things. Anyway, if you are willing to work with me, I'd sure love the assistance! Questions About Draft Articles
editThis is a personal questiion and thus, in my opinion, does not belong on the Teahouse. At your suggestion/request I have moved the major discussion to the Teahouse, however there are a few items I wish to clean up from your comments on my draft:John Farrar (Virginia Settler). You said "that it appears to be written in a nineteenth century style". In a previous response I answered thatconcern. I would like to know if that answer was acceptable I would not like to see it again if I resubmit the article. Essentially. because of my age, my background, my education I have a tendency to speak in what "moderns" might call archaic language. In the case of John Ferrar I quoted a source by encapsulating the quote with quotation marks, in addition I added a reference to that quote at the end of the article. I would like to know if this style is adequate and fufills wikipedia requirements? If not then how should I address the issue? In other words is it inappropriate or illegal to make partial quotes from a book or document. If there was something other than that quote that was written in a 19th century style could you point it out? The author is blind to his own deficitsAlvanhholmes (talk) 20:43, 22 November 2018 (UTC)
- User:Alvanhholmes - Those are questions about your drafts, and can reasonably be discussed by any editor, so you may ask them at the Teahouse. Robert McClenon (talk) 00:49, 23 November 2018 (UTC)
- I am old and have two master's degrees, and am verbose but do not write in an archaic style, so I think that you write in an archaic style because it is your style and you write in an archaic style. Robert McClenon (talk) 00:49, 23 November 2018 (UTC)
Peeing contest here :) I am 79 years old, have 1 3/4 masters degrees. My style is also affected by my background, 26 years military, raised with a southern "drawl, "edumacted" partly above the Mason Dixon, partly below. Mostly self educated gratis the most excellent public libraries of Philadelphia, PA. First book I checked out at age 8 was the Odyssey, gobbled up all of Dickens, Stevenson, Cooper, Hugo, etc that I could lay my hands on. light reading were Escape Stories of WWII, heaviest were books like Five Chimneys (Auschwitz Birkenau). Last book I checked out was Beau Geste. I will cop to the "archaic" style, we are missing so much. Modern correspondence is too commercial.Alvanhholmes (talk) 02:41, 23 November 2018 (UTC)
- User:Alvanhholmes - As I said, the point is that you write in an archaic style because you write in an archaic style, not because of your age or education. I am also familiar with the military style of writing, and it is terse. (At some point as a major, an officer will be in a position where he writes a daily sitrep for a general. The general is a busy officer who has 20 sitreps a day to read from his field-grade officers, and he comes in at 0700 local and wants to get them all read by 0730 local so that he can do any additional background research before 0800 local and issue his orders for the day. He doesn't want the sitrep to be long.) Robert McClenon (talk) 19:47, 23 November 2018 (UTC)
Robert McClenonYou are correct about the military style being terse, but one thing I have learned since retirement, is that one does not speak, act, or write to or for civilians as you do in the military. So one learns to be more expressive. When I was enlisted and a drill instructor I wrote lesson plans for recruits, that I seriously doubt would pass muster in a civilian setting, but I wrote them to form My last official act, before I retired in 1982Iwrote the plans and procedures, down to prepping and marshalling vehicles, for deployment through the Port of Tacoma Probably much modified , but I believe it was used to move Ft Lewis units to the Gulf in support of the 1st Gulf War.
But my style being archaic? I don’t know how to take that. A critique (most likely) a compliment (least likely) but I am what I am, sez PopeyeAlvanhholmes (talk) 01:33, 24 November 2018 (UTC)
Moving election articles from draftspace
editHi Robert. As the naming convention for elections and referendums (WP:NC-GAL) has recently changed to put the year at the start, when you're moving election articles from draftspace, could you make this change during that move if the draft articles use the old format? It will save them having to be moved again. Cheers, Number 57 21:10, 25 November 2018 (UTC)
- User:Number 57 - Okay. The years were usually at the end, and I will check the guide in the future, and it says that the year goes at the beginning. Robert McClenon (talk) 22:58, 26 November 2018 (UTC)
DRN on Origin of the Romanians
editHi Robert,
in advance I write here because I don't want to give an ammunition to the tendentious editor to make km lenghty discussions. On your deduction there is one mistake, the case was never been in front of the ANI, only at AN3. You may update or change your argumentation accordingly.
In my opinion - as an editor who has always been near to the events, I have to tell, that this thread opened in the DRN is again just a decoy from the user - despite since months more of us tried to explain and make understand WP rules, guidelines and policies, but he simply does not willing to accept - because he is falsely thinking if a discussion is ongoing, it would legitimate him to make unilateral changes, reverts, deletes without consensus or community support (similary turning upside down the BRD principle). If you'd read the latest - last three - threads in the talk page - you may see more of us did not succeed to make him understand the rules. I am convinced he does it deliberately, since regardless of the nth time of explanation, he invent fallacious arguments in his own considered support (just see the neutrality section and his arguments, but also the "moderator" section).
This is unbearable, as you see an admin already did some steps, but I think if he would again continue his activity that is already disruption, really harsh sanctions has to be put in practise against him, since page protection, warnings, explanations, good faith does not matter, he always deducts that he is the "right one" and all the others are "bad". Boring and since weeks we cannot work properly on the article.
So I think, the next step would be the ANI, or in case and admin acts than this issue may end earlier. Therefore it is useless medcom, considering whaty you said "who edit disruptively, they will have to be sanctioned before dispute resolution can be worked". Also other editors became the conclusion the user is at already disruptive editing (reached 8th revert and mass deletion and altering so far as the page protection expired).
One more thing, as I noticed this during writing you ProgrammingGeek talktome, by mistake closed the RFC Two maps, instead of the discussion at the NPOV noticeboard, I already informed him about his mistake [2] since the majority voted the map an only it was discussed what text should be put under, but it is not the map itself. As we may see by the recent edits, finally everybody accepted the map, only the text was enlarged. The two many threads make everyone to hardly navigate, that's why these mistakes are I think.(KIENGIR (talk) 22:14, 26 November 2018 (UTC))
- User:KIENGIR - It doesn't matter much to me whether the issues were only at the edit-warring noticeboard rather than at WP:ANI. The issue has been at multiple content and conduct fora. Robert McClenon (talk) 00:58, 27 November 2018 (UTC)
- If you do not think that mediation will work, then I would say that the next step should not be WP:ANI but Arbitration Enforcement. Arbitration Enforcement usually deals with disruptive editors more quickly and decisively, when Arbitration Enforcement is available, than WP:ANI, which usually results in lengthy heated exchanges and warnings. Arbitration Enforcement is only available in certain areas, but my globe shows Romania as being in Eastern Europe. Robert McClenon (talk) 00:58, 27 November 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you for your answer. First of all, I will wait until the RFC closure mistake is corrected, you may also indicate it to ProgrammingGeek. After, I will see if the problematic user will abuse the map in the future or not, because as per WP:AN3 admin directive I have to bring the case into the ANI if it would happen again and I have to refer on that discussion per evidence. However, currently not the map case caused the major turmoil, but the mass deletion of sections and other mass alteration without consensus, that I indicated to another administrator. Conclusively, in any possible map case I will turn to the ANI, in any possible other case of disruptive editing, mass deletions/alterations without consensus I will choose AE in case, referring to your recommendation.(KIENGIR (talk) 01:12, 27 November 2018 (UTC))

Re: Meca Sapiens and Conflict of Interest
editDear Robert,
I was poking around Wikipedia based on a recent (real life) encounter and found the Meca Sapiens page, which you had approved about two years ago. I was a little surprised, as I had thought it might not be sufficiently notable for a page, and decided to look at its history, to see whether it was a recent creation or a long-lived page. I noted that the primary editor was User:Monterege, which was very close to one of the cited sources on the page. Googling the source, I happened upon [URL https://www.newswire.com/files/6a/82/231a432bcf6b61df3f92b983d10a.pdf] which appears to state that J. T. Monterège was a creation of J. E. Tardy, who is the sole creator of the "Meca Sapiens" concept. This would appear to be a conflict of interest.
I figured I should inform you of this, as I trust an experienced editor such as yourself to handle any issues here in the appropriate manner. I'm long out of practice so my terminology and assessment of the issue may be far off the mark. Thanks for your time. 129.173.213.205 (talk) 17:37, 30 November 2018 (UTC) Edit: added a wikilink to the page)

- That is entirely reasonable. This IP address is not particularly (at all?) anonymous, but then again I did some non-anonymous stuff with my old username. User:Logical2u. To clarify - since my 'retirement', Wikipedia is 90% a 'reading' thing for me, not a 'writing' thing. If I spot a typo or vandalism somewhere, I may correct it using whatever device and IP I have at the time (e.g., this current address, though I know I different address in the past). I have very little personal interest in integrating myself into the greater Wikipedia community at this time, nor to return to that username in any functional capacity (I'm not even sure I could, given how old the account is). Unfortunately this issue requires more advanced knowledge of Wikipedia policies than I have, have interest in learning (at least in how they've changed), or really in participating in in the long term. Hence why I came here. 129.173.213.205 (talk) 17:17, 19 December 2018 (UTC)

Hello Robert,
Thank you for reviewing the draft about Aleksandr Kuznetsov. I'd like to ask you some points about the reason of rejection. You indicated that IMDB is not a reliable source, but there're other sources (but just mostly in Russian). IMDB is used only as an external link but I can delete it. Draft: Those Winter Sundays
editHi Robert, thank you for reviewing our draft page of the poem "Those winter sundays" by Robert Hayden. I'd like to ask you if you had any more advices on how to improve the page and finally get it published. I'd like to ask you also if you could point me in the right direction in order to get the proper permission to publish the entire poem on the draft page. I already sent an Email to Liveright (the ones that have the copyright) and replied me they have no objection as long as we cite them.(I posted the conversation on the talk page of the draft and still a user deleted the poem). Thank you for your time, I'm sure you can help Leozanoni (talk) 09:34, 3 December 2018 (UTC)
- User:Leozanoni - First, it is unlikely that Hayden's heirs will agree to grant the permission that we require. The permission that Wikipedia requires is not merely a permission to display in Wikipedia but a permission for reuse anywhere by all in the world. Be careful not to assume that something less will be good enough. Read the copyright policy. Second, my advice is to rework the draft so as not to assume that the reader can see the text of the poem. If you have any further questions, please ask for advice at the Teahouse. Robert McClenon (talk) 15:10, 3 December 2018 (UTC)

Sara Ali Khan draft
editHi,
I saw your comment that you left on the Sara Ali Khan draft page. Just to let you know, while I was the one who submitted the review, I wasn't the one who created/worked on the article, but I appreciate the feedback. As for Sara Ali Khan, her first film just released today - Kedarnath. I figured since she is officially in the public eye now, that it would give her the notability for her own page. Her second film is releasing in just a few weeks, on 28 December - Simmba. She is playing the lead female role in both films. Since the WP:NACTOR rules state that an actor need multiple significant roles, would I have to wait until the 28th to consider her notable? Thanks.Rush922(talk) 07:18, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
- User:Rush922 - You are basically right. At present it is WP:TOOSOON. Notability as an actress is based on significant roles in multiple notable films. If the films are not yet notable, then she is not yet notable. I suggest that you wait until the end of the month. In the meantime, you can expand the draft with background information, but you should wait to resubmit it until she has had roles in multiple notable films. Sara Ali Khan page
editHello,
A few sections above you recommended that I would have to wait a few weeks to get the Sara Ali Khan page reinstated, as her second film is coming out in a few weeks and Notability requirements state that an actor needs multiple films (i.e. more than one). But it appears a few admins have already decided that she is notable due to popularity and coverage, and have reinstated her page even though she only has one film. Do you agree with this? Thanks.Rush922(talk) 11:02, 9 December 2018 (UTC)
Thank you for reconsidering the draft of Ellen Reid the American composer and disambiguating her from Ellen Reid the Canadian composer. Let me know if there's anything else I can do to clarify. This is my first Wikipedia entry, so let me know if I need to add more sources to show she is a totally different (and very newsworthy) person as I can point to many additional articles.

Speedy deletion of Tron (Cryptocurrency)
editHi Robert, I was hoping I could share some insight on why I submitted the draft of Tron (Cryptocurrency). I see that you've requested people coming here for speedy deletions use the button on the page to justify notability and how it's non-promotional, but the page has already been deleted so there's no button for me to do it there.
For notability, the Cryptocurreny (Tron) was once ranked in the top 10 by marketcap, was called out for having plagiarisms in their whitepaper, and for purchasing the P2P program Bittorrent.
After @MER-C: requested the previous Tron (Cryptocurrency) draft for salting, I recognized this to be an article that could exist if created fairly, so I began creating a draft. Unlike both of the previous article deletions, I had no COI, sources that met WP:RS by every standard and did not make a single statement without a strong source to back it up. MER-C gave me feedback here and suggested I talked to @David Gerard: about the new draft, since he was the admin who salted the article. I recommend you read our discussion here. After it was deleted and reverted for sourcing, and after the AfD discussion was created, you speedily deleted the article for Db-g4; but it doesn't violate section G4. The article was not substantially identical to either of the previous deletions. Can you expand on that? Thanks Dr-Bracket (talk) 16:25, 13 December 2018 (UTC)

NPR Newsletter No.16 15 December 2018
editHello Robert McClenon,
- Reviewer of the Year
This year's award for the Reviewer of the Year goes to Onel5969. Around on Wikipedia since 2011, their staggering number of 26,554 reviews over the past twelve months makes them, together with an additional total of 275,285 edits, one of Wikipedia's most prolific users.
- Thanks are also extended for their work to JTtheOG (15,059 reviews), Boleyn (12,760 reviews), Cwmhiraeth (9,001 reviews), Semmendinger (8,440 reviews), PRehse (8,092 reviews), Arthistorian1977 (5,306 reviews), Abishe (4,153 reviews), Barkeep49 (4,016 reviews), and Elmidae (3,615 reviews).
Cwmhiraeth, Semmendinger, Barkeep49, and Elmidae have been New Page Reviewers for less than a year — Barkeep49 for only seven months, while Boleyn, with an edit count of 250,000 since she joined Wikipedia in 2008, has been a bastion of New Page Patrol for many years.
See also the list of top 100 reviewers.
- Less good news, and an appeal for some help
The backlog is now approaching 5,000, and still rising. There are around 640 holders of the NPR flag, most of whom appear to be inactive. The 10% of the reviewers who do 90% of the work could do with some support especially as some of them are now taking a well deserved break.
- Really good news - NPR wins the Community Wishlist Survey 2019
At #1 position, the Community Wishlist poll closed on 3 December with a resounding success for NPP, reminding the WMF and the volunteer communities just how critical NPP is to maintaining a clean encyclopedia and the need for improved tools to do it. A big 'thank you' to everyone who supported the NPP proposals. See the results.
- Training video
Due to a number of changes having been made to the feed since this three-minute video was created, we have been asked by the WMF for feedback on the video with a view to getting it brought up to date to reflect the new features of the system. Please leave your comments here, particularly mentioning how helpful you find it for new reviewers.

Hi Richard
I have got to say I was slightly saddened by your rejection. I was just trying to get the framework correct. My intention was to give an insight into a typical gallery of the late 1960’s. Some of the information is already on the web (http://worldcat.org/identities/nc-zaydler%20gallery%20london%20england/) but the rest was based on an extensive archive I have. Primarily exhibition catalogues and newspaper cuttings. I had intended to create links to existing biographies and create new ones based on this information. There are so many prominent artists who are now deceased, have works in national collections, but are only mentioned fleetingly in Wiki articles. A prime example is Gomer Lewis. I have all this information and it is a shame it will be lost forever. I apologise for the rough nature of my article. As an ex software it should have been better.
Best regards Jeremy
JezzaZ (talk) 16:03, 16 December 2018 (UTC)
- User:JezzaZ - I suggest that you ask for advice at the Teahouse, but I do not think that being a typical gallery in the late 1960's makes a gallery notable. If any of the artists do not currently have articles but satisfy artistic notability, articles about them are welcome. Other than that, I am not entirely sure what you are proposing. Speedy deletion nomination of Luis John Deleon Guerrero Castro
editA tag has been placed on Luis John Deleon Guerrero Castro requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from the article namespace to a different namespace except the Category, Template, Wikipedia, Help, or Portal namespaces.
ZOO Digital Group article tagging
editThanks for reviewing the ZOO Digital Group article. I have added further information and citations to the article to provide more evidence of notability and a wider range of sources to support the information, further removed from the subject matter. My Nineteenth Century Language
editAbout a month ago I started aDraft:John Ferrar(Deputy Treasurer,Virginia Company). You said on my talk page
The sentence "The honesty and diligence of John Ferrar saved the enterprise" should not be in the voice of Wikipedia. If someone wrote this, quote them. Has this language been copied from another source? (It appears to be written in a nineteenth-century style.) Robert McClenon (talk) 02:38, 22 November 2018 (UTC)
I recall that I asked you for an example. I honestly had no idea what you meant, you never responded. One cannot correct something if they have no idea what it is that needs correcting. Then Jytdog jumped in claiming that I was behaving badly for questioning you.
That Sentence The sentence "The honesty and diligence of John Ferrar saved the enterprise" was not copied and was in my voice. I honestly do not see anything wrong with it, but if you say it is Nineteenth Century Style I can eliminate it, and I do understand that it uses superlatives that has no business in WP (I see that now, not then). There is a long quote from the Fortnightly Magazine that Earwig caught as a copyvio. That creates a problem for me. I understand from previous conversations wtih either you or other editors that limited use of quoted material was acceptable, so long as it was identified as such and I did First I mentioned the Source: "The Following is quoted from the Fortnightly Magazine", then I encapsulated the quote in apostrophe's, then I put it in {{ quotes. Then I provided a citation to the quote. Despite that the article is beieng rejected for copyvio. I have brought this to the attention of K.e.coffman I hope that I am not perceived as being argumentative or disrespctful. I am honestly at wits end in trying to understand some policies. I am getting a handle on some things. Please explain and help. I do think that the article is worthy of publication, as this John Ferrar was a brother of Nicholas Ferrar who has a WP article and held a position as important being Deputy Governor/TreasurerThank youOldperson (talk) 17:18, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
- User:Oldperson - First, the remaining problem with your statement about the honesty and diligence of John Ferrar, after I know that it was not copied, is that it is a statement of your opinion. Other writers might have other opinions as to what saved the Virginia colony. Second, I never said that you were behaving badly, and I did not see Jytdog say that either, but Jytdog has been blocked. Third, some of your articles have contained too much quoting, and that is a matter of judgment. If your contribution was rejected for copyvio, and you do not think that it was copyvio, you can appeal. I never said that it was copyvio, but I did have difficulty in telling what you were quoting and what you were copying. Please do not blame or scold me, and be aware that you are coming across as being very petulant. Fourth, you did complain that one of your contributions was rejected as Contrary to the Purpose of Wikipedia. I cannot find that rejection. Please direct me to where it is. Fifth, you cannot always expect a response, and it is not reasonable to complain at length about sometimes not getting a response. I will reply also at WP:ANI. Robert McClenon (talk) 03:57, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
@Robert McClenon: Thanks for the response. The first problem about inappropriate superlatives was recognized and corrected long ago. What I did not understand, until recently when I saw an explanation on the history of Draft:John_Ferrar_(Deputy_Treasurer,_Virginia_Company) Was why my language was considered 19th Century (that comment is still there on the article page and should be removed. I won't do it, out of respect. I don't believe in reverting edits either, I will discuss the edit with the editor, but won't play the revert game. Jytdog did in fact accuse me of behaving badly. I can't find it now, but I am many things but not a liar or fabricator, but it is obvious that you knew it was him, as I never mentioned his name. He was only blocked for 24 hours and bid farewell after the block. I am pretty sure he lurks still. Not the thpe to just pick up the marbles and go away. I am not petulant at being rejected, I am too old for that and my expiration date is six months past. What bothers me is when I ask Why, not only rejection but critique of my language and am met with crickets. The draft which was rejected because its ""opic is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia"" is this Draft:John Ferrar (Deputy Treasurer, Virginia Company). On a personal note. I looked up to and respected you and {{Cullend328)) as reasonable and mature editors and helpful critiques. I know that you can't answer everything. But I thought in time you would, but there was in fact a length of time, until now, without an answer. I am trying hard. I want to be a responsible and accurate editor and creator. But I can't if I don't get an honest understandable explanation. I realize that there is a tendency to use shorthand and direct people to this or that WP policy with a link, but all too often I have found that those links are in themselves vague and raise issues. And sometimes it is a matter of "Beauty is in the eye". One persons too many quotes is anothers acceptable threshold (only an example). I do appreciate the time you spend with new editors like myself. If you could look into the matter of "This Topic is Contrary to the Purpose of WP" I woud appreciate it. Mind you the article wasn't stopped because of quotes, but because of the Topic. I have a suspicion that it was stopped because someone confused it with another similar Draft that has not been submitted, and that Draft is for raft:John Ferrar (merchant). That one is in the sandbox and will remain there until and if I can find support for his notability and reliable sources. But honestly, John Ferrar Deputy Treasurer is a suitable topic for WP, if not then I am owed an honest explanation. If so then the Stop sign should be removed that I can then correct the real issues which seem to be excessive quoting. ThanksOldperson (talk) 04:34, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- User:Oldperson - I disagree with the rejection by User:K.e.coffman of your draft as Contrary to the Purpose of Wikipedia, and I think that was not a fair disposition, although it was not and is not ready for acceptance, but by using that rejection as a cudgel to accuse Wikipedia senior editors in general of superman complex, you will simply annoy and offend other editors, and will be likely to be ignored. ::::Do not say that you take criticism very well when you are scolding Wikipedia because you don't like the style of the critiques that you have gotten. Robert McClenon (talk) 04:52, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- User:Oldperson - You say that Jytdog is still lurking out there and was only blocked for 24 hours. No. Jytdog has been blocked indefinitely by ArbCom. And you are scolding Wikipedia for the critiques you have gotten, and that is not likely to get you whatever sort of handholding you think you need. Robert McClenon (talk) 05:00, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
@Robert McClenon: Please don't talk down to me as though I were a child. When you do you come across as that "superman" personality I complained about. I am a mature and experienced adult and I have been assuming that you were one as well. Am I wrong? You seem to have a dire need to constantly chastise me. Does that make you feel superior?Oldperson (talk) 05:13, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- User:Oldperson - "Superman complex" was your language that you used to complain about other editors in your WP:ANI posting. That is where I came across it. You started the scolding by complaining about not getting answers to questions and that the criticism that you were receiving was not sufficiently precise. I am willing to let it drop. Just be aware that if you complain that the criticism you receive is not helpful, one response may be to be silent instead. I was trying to be helpful, but maybe the help that I can provide is not the help that you can use. Robert McClenon (talk) 18:39, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Robert McClenon: Understood, apologies if I offend, However the "superman complex" does apply to some.At the time I was being tormented by Jytdog, who claimed that he was only trying to help. If a person truly tries to help they don't use demeaning adjectives like petulant or level vague criticisms. And one does not scratch a non itch. Or as they use to say "If the shoe fits..". Draft:Ash Nom DePlume - a question of suitability for Wikipedia.
editDear Robert:
Thank you for your feedback. Maybe I am approaching this incorrectly. This is my first attempt to contribute to Wikipedia,
Concerning your comments which based on the standards appear to be valid objections. I am not sure that I could make the argument that pen name of Ash Nom DePlume this will make the sales or notable figure criteria. With only a few reviews and not appearing on a best sellers listing sales, are not going to qualify. I am unaware of any universities using his works in classes, or being widely quoted, literary awards and such.
I read a hard copy copyright filing copy of the Psionicist Guild and found the concept of a fictional text book interesting and possibly unique, not to mention standing the test of time on a couple of predictions. Later I gained access some other works as the author and I share a common friend, though I can't say I know him. Which reminds me I should post my reviews of the three books I fully read.
Ash does keep developing what as near as I can determine "First in Literature" items, approaches, or plot devices. Since, I cannot find any references of the prophetic historical fiction, or a text book from the future as a historical fiction done before. This was noteworthy but wasn't enough to get me to try this years ago. Then recently I saw that Ash wrote another book with a Literary First about the alcoholic treatment called the Sinclair Method. In regard to both of these items I cannot find any record of them being done before Ash's work. It seems I keep catching a largely unknown author on the way up, or a piece of history as these appear to be literary first.
Based on the Wikipedia sales and notable works criteria as I understand them, I don't think this author has satisfied those criteria, but they are interesting stories, and seem to be on the cutting edge of history for originality.
I do think, the status of two literary first is deserving of being historically notable and thereby deserving of consideration which is what got me thinking that there should be a Wikipedia entry for Ash Nom DePlume. Which why I am trying this as my first submission. I had considered putting an entry for the books, but when I read the rules, it seemed too close to advertising, which is not what Wikipedia is about, and not the point of my postings.
Is there a category for consideration under literary first?
Please advise, WW — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wenhang Wang (talk • contribs) 16:02, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- User:Wenhang Wang - First, I do not think that the literary techniques that you speak of are so unusual as to be notable. I think that fictional text books, either in the past or in the future, are not an uncommon device. The techniques of historical fiction, set in the future, have been used many times, such as in the Foundation series by Isaac Asimov. Maybe the particular way that these devices have been used is new. Second, it appears that you are acknowledging that the works of Ash Nom de Plume are sufficiently poorly known as to not be notable, but that is only my thought. Third, I would suggest that your draft also needs a copy-edit for grammar and usage. Fourth, I suggest that you ask for the opinions of other editors at the Teahouse.
