Dates

Hello OlifanofmrTennant! I echo the Welcome given above. I'd like to suggest, however, that you think about reverting the edits you have made to some Roman emperors changing eras from BC/AD to BCE/CE. This is a helpful section of our MOS to read, especially the bit which says An article's established era style should not be changed without reasons specific to its content; seek consensus on the talk page first (applying Wikipedia:Manual of Style § Retaining existing styles) by opening a discussion under a heading using the word era, and briefly stating why the style should be changed; i imagine you can see where i am going with this ~ discussions on the relevant talk pages are essential. I truly do suggest you revert yourself and start those discussions. Happy days, ~ LindsayHello 18:57, 12 April 2023 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for April 25

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Love Life (British TV series), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Romance. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 13:11, 25 April 2023 (UTC)

Knocked Down, Knocked Up

Since this is the (unintended) series finale of LoT, I believe this needs an article more than the other episodes. Kailash29792 (talk) 05:00, 3 May 2023 (UTC)

Are you suggesting that we work on a draft for that episode? If so I would happily would begin construction on the episode. OLI 05:04, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
Yes. Kailash29792 (talk) 05:51, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
I have created the draft and begun construction. OLI 00:28, 5 May 2023 (UTC)

Orphan articles

Thank you for adding article (B) links so that an article (A) is no longer an orphan. Want to let you know that the Orphan tag (A) can then be removed. There is no need to add the "att=" like here. Any questions, more info. is at Wikipedia:Orphan. Regards, JoeNMLC (talk) 18:45, 3 May 2023 (UTC)

Villages list - Pazarcık District

Greetings, for article Pazarcık District, I pulled all those (50 or so) Village articles from Category:Orphaned articles from May 2023 using Petscan tool into a plain text file & then posted to Villages section. All villages were tagged as Orphan, so lastly, I removed the orphan tag. I realize this was a unique situation and might never happen again; just thought to share that sometimes it's easier to de-orphan an article than to tag it. Cheers, JoeNMLC (talk) 12:47, 4 May 2023 (UTC)

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from List of Arrow characters into Draft:Malcolm Merlyn (Arrowverse). While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 11:56, 12 June 2023 (UTC)

AfC notification: Draft:Gideon (Legends of Tomorrow) has a new comment

I've left a comment on your Articles for Creation submission, which can be viewed at Draft:Gideon (Legends of Tomorrow). Thanks! Robert McClenon (talk) 05:01, 17 July 2023 (UTC)

Your submission at Articles for creation: Gideon (Legends of Tomorrow) (July 17)

Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by Robert McClenon was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gideon (Legends of Tomorrow). This draft appears to be the same as the deleted-merged article.

This draft has been Rejected by a reviewer in the Articles for Creation review process. DO NOT resubmit this draft or attempt to resubmit this draft or prepare or submit a draft that is substantially the same as this draft without discussing the reasons for the rejection. You may request a discussion with the rejecting reviewer, or you may request a discussion with the community at the Teahouse. A discussion will not necessarily agree to a resubmission.

It should be noted that the reviewer has not decided that the topic is not notable. An article on the topic may be accepted in the future. However, there is no reason to think that this draft will become an article, and there is evidence that this draft will never become an article. If there is to be an article on this topic, this draft must first be blown up and started over.

If this draft is resubmitted without discussion and without starting it over, or if an attempt is made to resubmit this draft or an equivalent draft, without addressing the reasons for the Rejection by starting over, a partial block or a topic-ban may be requested against the submitting editor.

You may ask for advice about Rejection at the Teahouse.

You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, A New World (The Flash)), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

In the future, please do not remove AFC comments that you disagree with. The comments say that they should not be removed. They are removed automatically when the article is accepted. Other reviewers who see that comments have been removed may think that this illustrates tendentious editing.
I saw that some of the episodes of Legends of Tomorrow have articles, and that accepting this one is consistent with the ones that have already been accepted. Please do not remove AFC comments in the future. It is sometimes done in bad faith. All of the AFC comments have been removed, because the acceptance script does that. GAN reviews

Thanks so much for your reviews! Just as a note: GAN reviews should have "spotchecks", i.e. looking at one or more sources in the article to see that they say the same things as the article and that the article isn't using any copyrighted text. It's a good idea to mention any spotchecks you've done in the review clearly, which makes it easier for us to check that the review was good and give points for completing it. It's also good to mention some suggestions for improving the article, if there are any, and let the review stay open for a little to hear from the nominator. Again, thanks for any help you can give at GAN! Vaticidalprophet 00:45, 25 August 2023 (UTC)

Can i retroactively add spotchecks to get credit? OLI 03:20, 25 August 2023 (UTC)
Yes, if you've done a review without them, it'd be great to look back at the article and add the spotchecks to the review :) Vaticidalprophet 11:21, 25 August 2023 (UTC)

Draft:2023 Bommarito Automotive Group 500

Please, can you explain what & which source you defined as "unreliable". Both, Racer.com & Motorsports.com, along with their writers, Marshall Pruett & Charles Bradley, have proven to be more that reliable sources in the Motor community & in motorsport wiki. Thank you. -HotMAN0199(talk) 18:16, 25 August 2023 (UTC)

Yes but there is only two sources. I'm guessing thats because the event hasnt happened yet which if we consider other drafts only being in the draft space becuase their topic hasnt been relesead yet means It will remain declined. OLI 21:35, 25 August 2023 (UTC)
Yes, it only has two sources because the event has yet to take place. That said, motorsport events are always posted to the main space before the event takes places, so anyone that wishes can update the article as different sessions take place. - HotMAN0199 (talk) 22:15, 25 August 2023 (UTC)
Can you provide some precedent for this? OLI 22:25, 25 August 2023 (UTC)
  • Example 1 created on July 31, 2023 to main space. Event occurred August 4-5.
  • Example 2 Draft created April 10, 2023, & moved to main space April 13. Event occurred April 14-16.
  • Example 3 Page created into main space June 18, 2023. Event is scheduled to occur October 5-8, 2023.
  • Example 4 Page created into main space July 25, 2023. Event occurred July 28-29.

Hello @OlifanofmrTennant, I had submitted this article (Draft:Quark Baby) to the AfC for consideration but in your wisdom, you saw it fit to decline it as it read as promotional and you believed it was written by one of the founders. Your AfC review of Cover-up of rape at Johnny & Associates

Hi there, just stopping by to let you know you should be a little more careful accepting submissions through Articles for Creation as this article in question Cover-up of rape at Johnny & Associates was almost a 100% direct content fork of Johnny Kitagawa#Sexual harassment allegations. As a New Pages Reviewer, I've now redirected that page into the original section at the original article. That's all from me, have a good rest of your weekend! :) Fork99 (talk) 11:15, 2 September 2023 (UTC)

Just read over my comment again, just clarifying if it wasn't clear, that the content fork in this case involved copying word for word straight from the original article into the new one. Fork99 (talk) 11:36, 2 September 2023 (UTC)

Poorly worded decline rationale in Draft:Donald Eugene Fields II

Hello, I am a fellow AfC reviewer like you. However, I just wanted to say your decline comment in Draft:Donald Eugene Fields II may confuse new editors. What matters is not the number of sources(three good sources are enough to satisfy WP:GNG), but the quality of the sources. On your future reviews, you should clarify the difference and that quality is more important than quantity. Other than that, continue with your excellent work at Wikipedia! Ca talk to me! 16:59, 2 September 2023 (UTC)

Draft:Elsie M. Lewis - Decline reason

Hi Oli,

You recently declined Draft:Elsie M. Lewis for 'Bad formating + no infobox'.

Please note that per WP:AFCSTANDARDS 'Avoid declining an article because it contains formatting issues, such as no wikilinks to other articles, or because it has no sections. Instead, fix it yourself, or accept the article and tag it with maintenance templates to alert other editors to the one or two issues that you believe need to be resolved first.' and 'Avoid declining an article because you personally don't like the citation style or formatting.'.

Furthermore, there is ZERO requirement for any article to have an infobox and certainly an article does not need one to pass at AfC - RichT|C|E-Mail 22:09, 2 September 2023 (UTC)
