World Population Review

Hi there. You to let you know that I've removed the population figure that you added to the Berbera article following a discussion at Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard#World Population Review. The original source of the figure appears to have been user-editable. Cordless Larry (talk) 17:37, 31 March 2019 (UTC)

@Cordless Larry: Thank you for making the removal, as well as starting the discussion the same day this message was sent to me. Has this reference been removed from other articles as well? If not, I recommend doing so following the discussion.   Jalen D. Folf (talk) 01:54, 2 April 2019 (UTC)
Not yet, but I was planning on doing a search for articles that use it as a source when I get sufficient time. Thanks for your understanding of my revert. Cordless Larry (talk) 11:45, 2 April 2019 (UTC)

Stop, please

Please stop nominating drafts of Flooded with them hundreds as G5. They do not qualify for G5 and it's become extremely disruptive with everyone nominating them (85 pages total) that I now have to rollback. Thanks, -- Amanda (aka DQ) 06:17, 6 April 2019 (UTC)

Thanks

I don't know if you looked into the history of that old redirect, but I had tried directly editing the redirect page... which seems to have disappeared now... very weird, because I copied what I contributed from the page history of the old redirect, which doesn't seem to exist anywhere anymore. Thanks for formatting that properly and for all the info. Abdelaziz' surnom (nickname) Boutef still redirects to his BLP. Did your page moves/creations eat the edit history? -- SashiRolls t · c 22:50, 12 April 2019 (UTC)

@SashiRolls: The edit history of the original Bouteflika redirect was deleted by Athaenara. I'm sure there's a way to restore the original edit history onto the page you created, but I am not an administrator and don't plan on becoming one. Jalen D. Folf (talk) 22:54, 12 April 2019 (UTC)
Aha! Now I'm really puzzled. :) Thanks for your help. SashiRolls t · c 23:00, 12 April 2019 (UTC)

Opinion

Hey, So the redirect I blanked is pointing to a wrong article. If you have admin rights, plz delete the page otherwise I think it's better to leave the page blank. SepehrAln (talk) 08:40, 14 April 2019 (UTC)

@SepehrAln: I have instead decided to point the redirect to a different location that mentioned both the subjects with detail. It appears the original redirect was created because it was the title of one of OMICS’ journals, which doesn’t appear to be mentioned at their article at all. Thank you for pointing this out to me, as I do not have admin rights and have instead resorted to retargeting as an alternative solution. Jalen D. Folf (talk) 14:55, 14 April 2019 (UTC)
I agree, Thank you. SepehrAln (talk) 16:59, 14 April 2019 (UTC)

Re: Watchin.today

Thank you for your message about the change I made on NoCopyrightSounds, and sorry if I have made wrong edits. Actually I have nothing connected to the website personally, just a big fan of them. I go to the website and spend time checking YouTube channels and statistics, and I thought the source quality was good enough to be posted, and could be a good reference to make the posts more reliable. Since several users are questioning about the reliability of the source, I will not add link from the website from now on. And may I ask you to remove watchin.today from Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard? I am afraid I could have made any harm to them. Thank you again for message, and sorry about my poor English because I'm not a native English speaker. Justinmin09 (talk) 01:33, 28 April 2019 (UTC)

re: zynga dallas

Thank you for your input on my edit, I am still learning the right way to do things so I appreciate that you took the time to help. I deleted the redirect so I could write a new article, I did not think it would take me as long as it did to track down the references, so I understand that it just looked like I deleted something for no reason. I will try to be more clear in the future. Please take a look at my article if you have time, it's Bonfire Studios. I would love help and suggestions, and obviously revert if you don't think it's good, no hard feelings. I am interested in the studio but found the Zynga Dallas redirect confusing, because they are not related. Will add my signature to talk page. Zeldazidane (talk) 23:50, 29 April 2019 (UTC)

Thank you for informing me of your intentions Zeldazidane. The Bonfire Studios page formerly redirected to Zynga Dallas as a different studio under that same name was acquired by Zynga in 2010. I find it a coincidence for there to be another video game studio under the exact same name.
I currently have no comment with regards to the current version of the article, though all I can say is good luck with its development.   Jalen D. Folf (talk) 23:56, 29 April 2019 (UTC)

Page mover granted

Hello, JalenFolf. Your account has been granted the "extendedmover" user right, either following a request for it or demonstrating familiarity with working with article names and moving pages. You are now able to rename pages without leaving behind a redirect, move subpages when moving the parent page(s), and move category pages.

Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Page mover for more information on this user right, especially the criteria for moving pages without leaving redirect. Please remember to follow post-move cleanup procedures and make link corrections where necessary, including broken double-redirects when suppressredirect is used. This can be done using Special:WhatLinksHere. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password. As with all user rights, be aware that if abused, or used in controversial ways without consensus, your page mover status can be revoked.

If you do not want the page mover right anymore, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Thank you, and happy editing! ~Swarm~ {sting} 02:32, 30 April 2019 (UTC)

Hey, sorry about the disambiguation on the devil earlier, I was trying to create a page I had quitted on, and it wouldn't let me do the normal page so i had to do that, sorry :( AlexBd25 (talk) 22:29, 2 May 2019 (UTC)

Thank you for cookies. :)

Hi! Thank you for cookies and a warm welcome to wikipedia. I am new and I am sorry if I made any mistake. The page I tagged with possibility of notability was because there is a person merged into a movie? I found it weird. The person should have a different page than the movie? Thanks! The Gay Rub

Hey, I hope I've answered your question on the newly created Talk page for this (currently redirected) page. I'd prefer discussion on the merge to be on there for future reference, rather than scattered on various editors' Talk pages. Thanks! Kazrene

Just Dance Greatest Hits 2/181.160... and Camilode's Sock Army

Hello,

This is not the first time Just Dance: Greatest Hits 2 has been created by a user in the 181 range. Draft:Just Dance: Greatest Hits 02 (without the "2019 video game") has been created multiple times by multiple accounts stemming from either an IP in this range or Camilode. If you look at the history of the aforementioned Draft:Just Dance: Greatest Hits 02 page, you can see that it was protected due to it being repeatedly created. This user keeps coming back, and appears to have a whole category dedicated to him, Category:Suspected_Wikipedia_sockpuppets_of_Camilod. If you look at all the IP accounts in that range, you will find that several have at least one uw-error warning on it for a Just Dance-related page, usually adding something like "Electric Boy by The Girly Team is coming to Just Dance Unlimited". I was unable to access Draft:Just Dance: Greatest Hits 02's history (as it was deleted) in order to report the IP as a sock.

I have dealt with this troll on the Just Dance FANDOM community. He created at least 40 accounts dating back to 2014-2015 and we eventually had staff (us local admins couldn't access his IP) block the range 181.161.0.0/16 to block him permanently as he would just come back with a new account after the ban expired. I know permabanning an IP isn't something you do here but I think the IP range should be blocked at least temporarily.

CAMERAwMUSTACHE (talk) 02:53, 11 June 2019 (UTC)

@CAMERAwMUSTACHE: If it happens again, please report any new IPs to WP:SPI. Jalen D. Folf (talk) 00:41, 16 June 2019 (UTC)

@Iztwoz: Hi. Are you trying to create a completely different article on top of the redirect? If this is the case, just overwrite the redirect with the new article. Blanking is unfavorable in any situation regarding a mainspace title per WP:BLANK. Jalen D. Folf (talk) 16:45, 29 June 2019 (UTC)

Indu Bushan Banerjee The Historian and Sita Ram Kohli

Hi, I tell with full responsibility that the suggested topic is a creditable topic. It is about a historian who did original work on Punjab. I suggest revive this topic and let it develop with contributions from the community. If you do simple google serach with the term Indubhushan Banerjee, it has hoped that you may discover the authenticity of my claim. ````sumir 02:54, 16 July 2019 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sumirsha (talkcontribs)

Hi, I say it with a responsibility that Sita Ram Kohli was a historian who did original work on Punjab (India and Pakistan). I propose to revive this topic and let it develop with contribution from the community. sumir 02:58, 16 July 2019 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sumirsha (talkcontribs)

(edit conflict) @Sumirsha: Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I had placed both pages on my Watchlist when I tagged them for speedy deletion and noticed Fitindia adding references to the Banerjee article before its deletion. Maybe they can better help you as I do not focus on Indian subjects. I would also advise looking into WP:CCSI, as significance, which is what A7 covers, does not equal notability. Jalen D. Folf (talk) 03:01, 16 July 2019 (UTC)

Vichy Navy

Vichy French Navy only contained a redirect to French Navy which doesn't contain anything about the Vichy Navy. A reader assumes that a blue link contains at least a stub article, not a redirect that leads to nothing. I would prefer to create a red link, but I do not know how. Declined PROD on Tiffany Claus

Hello. I declined the ProD because it was contested in 2011, not because I think the subject is even remotely notable. The article is terrible. I'll do a final check for RS coverage later today. I'll see about putting this article out of its misery, if you don't nominate it for AfD first. • Gene93k (talk) 04:45, 23 July 2019 (UTC)

your revert on rubber

[1] Dear JalenFolf, let's quickly think this over: In casual language, I would say 95% of the people will not distinguish between natural and synthetic, let alone be consciously be aware of it. According to this source [2], the synthetic stuff makes up 70% of the total production. A rough computation will show that the redirect as it stands ("you surely meant natural rubber, didn't you") is either a conscious diversionary tactic, or a subconscious one, or simply ignorant, not helping, more or less useless. Any thoughts on this? -- Kku (talk) 08:36, 24 July 2019 (UTC)

Hello @Kku: I only reverted the conversion to disambiguation based on the fact that the hatnote already exists at Natural rubber, which points to the existing disambiguation at Rubber (disambiguation). If you believe there is no primary topic, the best solution is to make a requested move on the talk page of the existing disambiguation page. Jalen D. Folf (talk) 18:40, 25 July 2019 (UTC)

2020 Indian Premier League redirects

It's okay a redirect page can't be proposed for deletation. But is it fair that one user just to take the credit into his account of creating a page, making a redirects one year before? That's why I am requesting to delete this redirect so that I can recreate the page make the necessary updates and infos for that page. Thank You. SonyR (talk)

(talk page watcher)@ImSonyR9: "I want creation credit" is not a valid deletion rationale under policy. Don't worry about "credit" so much, anyone who looks will understand who made the article initially from the contribution history. -- ferret (talk) 14:47, 31 July 2019 (UTC)
Yes, Ferret is correct here. Besides, it is possible to write an article over the redirect without deleting the page history. Unless you have a draft you need moving into mainspace; in this case, tag the redirect for G6 using {{db-move}}. Jalen D. Folf (talk) 14:50, 31 July 2019 (UTC)

Howdy, saw you posted a couple of JUSTAVOTE comments on my recent AfD (thanks for that, by the way!). I know ... but could they be moved to other pages like Talk Page?CuteDolphin712 (talk) 04:54, 26 July 2019 (UTC)
As far as I'm aware, the birthdates are already on each of the individual members' Wiki pages, so there's no point including them again. Jalen D. Folf (talk) 04:56, 26 July 2019 (UTC)
These are now redirects, all but one. There are good reasons for excluding the dates anyway. Drmies (talk) 14:29, 23 August 2019 (UTC)

Luenha River

How to do else? The redirect is wrong. Mazowe River is a tributary of Luenha River. regards Peter in s (talk) 04:54, 31 August 2019 (UTC)

@Peter in s: However, you also made it correct by including it as part of the Mazowe River article. A redirect makes the most sense if the page it targets contains an accurate description of the subject in question or if the connection is accurately described. However, if you are looking to write an article, I advise reading over the contents of WP:YFA before proceeding. Jalen D. Folf (talk) 04:56, 31 August 2019 (UTC)

Rejected request of Punch Coomaraswamy (Judge) for G7 delete

Hi JalenFolf, my request to delete Punch Coomaraswamy (Judge) was rejected by you and your reason was that I am not creator. Please kindly check the page history of moved article (Punch Coomaraswamy (judge) ) by user:Nigos as it shows that I am the creator of the Punch Coomaraswamy (Judge). Once you have seen my message, kindly reply if I still need to add the G7 request again. Thank you. Flipchip73 (talk) 09:35, 8 September 2019 (UTC)

@Flipchip73: Hi. Yes, the creation log does show you as the creator under the title, however the entire edit history was moved to the new title, including your creation credits, which Nigos picked up on the old title when he left a redirect behind. For some reason, the creation log does not reflect this. If you would still like the page deleted, please consider following the instructions at WP:RFD or see if another deletion criteria applies. Thanks. Jalen D. Folf (talk) 15:08, 8 September 2019 (UTC)

It is not a problem to just overwrite the redirect with the content of the article you want to create (please see WP:YFA for tips on writing an article), however articles and mainspace redirects should not be blanked. Rwdepalma (talk) 20:28, 11 September 2019 (UTC)

@Rwdepalma: As I have linked (twice) in the message posted on your Talk page, the help page on referencing for beginners is a start. You may also look at other resources for efficient references via WP:CITE, which describes what a citation on Wikipedia means and examples on proper citing, and WP:RS, which describes how to identify a reliable source. If there is anything else you are confused about relating to this, you are welcome to reply here or start a thread on your own Talk page using the {{help me}} template with your question. In the case of the latter, someone patrolling the category related to this template, usually an administrator, will point you in the right direction. Instructions on how to use the template are located in its documentation. Jalen D. Folf (talk) 20:36, 11 September 2019 (UTC)

JalenFolf, Dilshad002 did this by once again hijacking the existing Dilshad article, the disambiguation list that you'd created. The substituted article appeared to be self-promotion as well and, seeing that he's been blocked for hijacking that page before, I just submitted another block request. Deleted History after page move "List of compositions by Johannes Brahms"

Hi! When you made the page move from List of compositions by Johannes Brahms by opus number to List of compositions by Johannes Brahms, you inadvertently deleted the existing History for the move-to page. Before this move, the move-to page contained a redirect from a split in 2011, and contained extensive history up to that point. Now it just contains the History copied from the move-from page, which begins in 2011, the date of the split. I don't think that's supposed to happen.

Guam v Syria FIFA Second Round AFC

Actually, about your self revert, I found some Syrian sources (which were written in Arabic), which stated that the fixtures have been reversed because of Visa Policy Issues of USA to that of Syria. That's why Syria has probably asked to play their home match first so that the necessary paperwork and Visa's can be sorted out till the reverse fixture.--Anbans 585 (talk) 14:50, 23 September 2019 (UTC)

Want to change the title and content of one page to another

Hi, Can you please explain why you are redirecting my one page to my another? Both (MANI INC. and KAGLA VAPORTECH CORPORATION) is owned by me and now I don't want MANI INC. Please suggest an easy way out. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hitomishirirana (talkcontribs) 02:06, 27 September 2019 (UTC)

@Hitomishirirana: The best way to do this is to create an entirely new page for KAGLA. Simply overwrite the existing redirect with the content you intended. As I described in your message to you, do not move MANI Inc. to this title while the article is up for deletion. The reason I say this is because a move like this messes up the system and prevents closers from doing their job more efficiently. Jalen Folf (talk) 02:28, 27 September 2019 (UTC)
@JalenFolf: You said I can create an entirely new page for Kagla but I find it more difficult now. What can be done now?

Speedy Deletions

You have deleted two articles that we are in the middle of editing while they were being edited for an event. We have been attempting to add to these pages, and would like them returned to do so.

Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by PoetryPerson1 (talkcontribs) 17:47, 28 September 2019 (UTC)

(edit conflict) @PoetryPerson1: They have been moved to draftspace by RHaworth, who has acknowledged that you are working on the articles for the event in which you are hosting. Feel free to work on them there. Jalen Folf (talk) 17:49, 28 September 2019 (UTC)

Kim Flores

Hi JalenFolf. I removed your tagging of Kim Flores as WP:CSD A7, because I think the sentence about the subject being a "World Champion in the Singing Category from World Championships of Performing Arts" is a claim of notability, so this doesn't quite meet the criteria. I had thought about tagging it as CSD:A7 myself, but in the end went for BLP:PROD because of the claim of notability. All the best, The Mirror Cracked (talk) 21:00, 28 September 2019 (UTC)

Similar name and edit filter hit queries

Hi, have you any knowledge of this account I blocked (JaidenFolf)? I also noticed an edit filter log hit by SharabSalam here, which matches this hit by you to Religion in China. Any thoughts? N.J.A. | talk 14:23, 29 September 2019 (UTC)

@NJA: After looking at it carefully, I believe the account is a sockpuppet of Kidhackr, who had been making similar disruption on the articles that this account targeted as well. The linked sockpuppet investigation should have some context.   Jalen Folf (talk) 14:36, 29 September 2019 (UTC)
Thank you for the info. Thought I’d ask, N.J.A. | talk 00:36, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
Just to be clear, I was reverting while JalenFolf was reverting but JalenFolf edit was saved and mine was not. I don't know what happened to the edit filter and I don't know much about edit filters.--SharabSalam (talk) 14:54, 29 September 2019 (UTC)
That makes sense and no worries. Good job both, N.J.A. | talk 00:37, 30 September 2019 (UTC)

Before anyone messages me about disambiguation pages...

Yes, I am aware that I made 100+ edits removing {{long comment}} from disambiguation pages, but I had good reason for it. This is because disambiguation pages with the footnote (i.e. those footnotes that produce the default disambiguation editnotice) do not appear on Special:ShortPages. The issue of these pages littering the ShortPages list was resolved at this Phabricator ticket. Jalen D. Folf (talk) 02:28, 10 September 2019 (UTC)

Record label edits

Hi, I saw you have started on what looks like a systematic effort to remove artist rosters from record label pages. I'm not sure that this is the best way to handle such lists. There's longstanding precedent that lists and categories of the same things can coexist (this used to bother me, too, with lists like List of pop punk bands, which I always thought silly when a category would be much more manageable, but I lost that war many years ago), and there is certainly longstanding precedent for including artist lists on record label pages - this is done on almost every label page, and is in many cases the chief reason for the article to exist (to inform readers of the label roster in a list form). While categories for record labels would be a nice addition to many of these pages, almost none of them actually have categories at this point, and those categories would be "unsourced" in the same way - categories don't have citations attached to them, and label affiliation is generally pretty trivial to verify; it's rather matter-of-fact and generally uncontroversial, and it doesn't strike me as a particularly good use of editors' time to preemptively stud such lists with four hundred citations to discographical resources. If we were going to convert to category form, we'd want to point readers to the existence of this information - in the "roster" section, we'd want an anchor to the category so they could find it easily, but this hasn't been done. Lastly, if we are embarking on a wholesale removal of artist lists from label pages...I think we ought to have a consensus that that is the best way to handle the information, so I think it would merit the opening up of a discussion, perhaps at WT:MUSIC, before continuing. I'm restoring these lists for the time being, but I wanted to leave you a note so you weren't alarmed and understood my rationale. I'll put this page on my watchlist in case you'd like to discuss further. Chubbles (talk) 03:42, 6 October 2019 (UTC)

Draft submission question

Hi, JalenFolf. Thank you for removing my submission for AFC. I wasn't supposed to submit a pending draft review because WP:RMNOT reads that only new/unconfirmed users can do that. What is the rule that draft reviews could only be submitted once after rejection? Could you send me the link? —Wei4Green#TeamTrees🌲 05:00, 1 November 2019 (UTC)

Tagging of User:Miggy72

I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on User:Miggy72. I do not think that User:Miggy72 fits any of the speedy deletion criteria  because This user has made a number of edits to mainspace articles about hurricanes. Information from one of these deos not seem "unrelated to Wikipedia" nor to justify a U5 Deletion. I request that you consider not re-tagging User:Miggy72 for speedy deletion without discussing the matter on the appropriate talk page. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 19:40, 12 October 2019 (UTC)

deleting

u delete my stuff. why ? Baozon90 (talk) 20:52, 19 October 2019 (UTC)

@Baozon90: The only major thing I'm noticing about your article creations is that you're making them too short and without enough information to prove that the subject meets WP:GNG. I would advise looking at WP:YFA for guidance on article creation. Jalen Folf (talk) 21:01, 19 October 2019 (UTC)

Hey, Hope you're well! There is some wrong information about STMPD RCRDS on this page. FUGA is not the parent company, but the distributor. STMPD RCRDS furthermore does not release any Ambient House but House Music (seen in the examples of Junior Sanchez & DJ DLG). Furthermore, the Logo is outdated as there is an updated one for a while now. How come the adjustments have not been approved due to not being constructive? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ericmerg (talkcontribs) 14:52, 23 October 2019 (UTC)

@Ericmerg: Do you have sources to back this information? Also, any new image/logo must be uploaded through the Upload Wizard, as I currently do not see it uploaded. Jalen Folf (talk) 14:55, 23 October 2019 (UTC)
