Your recent edits to Narendra Modi edit

Hello. I saw that you recently made changes to the article page on Narendra Modi, specifically inserting references to his caste as "Ghanchi" and "Teli" based on two reference sources. These reference sources do not quote Narendra Modi himself making the statement, and hence the caste references (often contentious) cannot find space on the article page due to content concerns when adding material related to living persons. Please review Wikipedia's policy on biographies of living people. Thanks. — Nearly Headless Nick {C} 19:42, 3 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Anuradha Acharya edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Anuradha Acharya requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Muhandes (talk) 17:59, 22 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Anuradha Acharya edit

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Replaceable fair use File:Additi gupta in reality show Zara Nachke Dikha..gif edit

Thanks for uploading File:Additi gupta in reality show Zara Nachke Dikha..gif. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 20:38, 4 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Austin Kincaid edit

A tag has been placed on Austin Kincaid, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Your contributed article, Bollywood's 100 crore club edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Bollywood's 100 crore club. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - List of highest-grossing Bollywood films. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at List of highest-grossing Bollywood films - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. §§AnimeshKulkarni (talk) 09:26, 21 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Oriental Institute of Science and Technology. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. Ricky Ponting edit

I have reverted your edit, because a) you have put in your table that he has played 17 T20s and won one of them, but no mention of the other 16 as there are just dashes in the loss, draw or tied games, and b) he seems to have won and lost more ODIs than he played? Considering you praise the accuracy of your sources in your edit summaries, perhaps you ought to check your facts before you put them down. S.G.(GH) ping! 11:00, 24 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

This is the error I refer to. You noted that he had lost 200 ODI matches which, in addition to those he had won, meant that he had played nearly a 100 more ODIs than he actually did.   Constructive contributions are appreciated and strongly encouraged, but your recent edit to the userpage of another user may be considered vandalism. In general, it is considered polite to avoid substantially editing others' userpages without their permission. Instead, please bring the matter to their talk page and let them edit their user page themselves if they agree on a need to do so. You have been blocked from editing for a period of 3 days for abuse of editing privileges. You are not allowed to operate multiple accounts in order to make it look like there is more support for your position than there actually is--this is called sockpuppetry. Based upon a comparison of this edit by this account and this edit by Ghaijindetails, you are obviously the same editor. Additionally, I have to tell you that your messages are coming off as very aggressive (violating WP:CIVIL), and, furthermore, you're making up policy that doesn't exist. The Wikimedia Foundation, for example, never decides what sources can and cannot be used. That's done by using consensus to analyze whether or not the source meets WP:RS. You seem to be applying your own personal opinion about what is or is not acceptable for Indian box office numbers. Now, it may be that your arguments are good, and we shouldn't use Boxofficeindia; I know nothing about the topic myself. But since the site is currently widely used on Wikipedia, there's clearly a consensus that it's okay. You're going to need to establish that it's not through some sort of centralized discussion, not just through edit warring, sock puppetry, and strongly worded claims on people's talk pages without any actual policy backing.
Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Disambiguation link notification for September 3 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Swades, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Indian (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Why did you mean by "adding genuine sources" ,you warned many times about this, only boxofficeindia is considered reliable. It seems that you learned nothing from your past adventure.---zeeyanketu talk to me 08:06, 5 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
In this case you must be wrong, Zeeyanketu. Times of India is a generally reliable source for most things, which would include box office results. I understand the need to exclude other ranking websites that don't have verified info, but you can't exclude reliable newspapers. Ghajindetails was wrong before to try to replace boxofficeindia with those types of sites, but there's nothing wrong with ToI. The only reason you could exclude ToI is if you know it's out of date. Qwyrxian (talk) 14:38, 5 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
I have discussed it before I got some warnings related to the same problem when i had started editing thats the reason i stick to this policy and most of websites give boxoffice collections instantly but boxofficeindia take some time and give territorial breakdown accurately .You can watch it in every good article ,only BOI is used .---zeeyanketu talk to me 02:56, 6 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
That does not change the fact that newspapers are reliable sources, especially a newspaper like ToI. Now, if they provide different totals, it may be appropriate to have both. But no group can flatly say, "This is the only source we accept". They can say "This source is proven to be unreliable" and reject sources, but not ban sources that we know to be generally reliable. Qwyrxian (talk) 03:51, 6 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
Dont worry that was only running information with respect to the same url and BOI will update end of run figure too.---zeeyanketu talk to me 07:04, 7 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Rowdy Rathore edit

We left it untill end figures are provided by boxofficeindia and how dare you to give me time to justified my statement I know well what i am doing and i am 100% stick to boxofficeindia and gross of kahaani will change too according to it.So,dont try to teach me and put your senseless views on my talkpage.---zeeyanketu talk to me 18:38, 7 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Okay, everyone should calm down (by everyone, I mean both of you). Ghajinidetails, it is correct that you shouldn't go around demanding anything. Wikipedia editing is a collaborative process that requires that people work together, not order each other around. Zeeyanketu, you shouldn't call other people senseless; WP:CIVIL says that we have to be nice to each other (in order to make that whole collaborative thing work). Ultimately, here's the real thing: you two are fighting about something that you simply don't need to fight over. There is no harm if Wikipedia's box office numbers aren't immediately up to date, especially not to 4 places of accuracy. This is a generalist encyclopedia, not a movie trivia storehouse. In cases where two or more reliable sources disagree about the box office numbers, we should include both (except, of course, if we know that one of them is just out of date). But be careful there, because we do have to be careful about what is or isn't a reliable source. As I said (here or on Z's talk page), newspapers are definitely reliable sources for this info, but studio/artist web pages are definitely not. I believe that there was a consensus in the past that BOI is reliable and BOH is not, though if there is concern about the issue, it could be discussed again (probably on WP:RSN). Jab Tak Hai Jaan Warning edit

There is no need to mention Son of Sardaar on pages other than that of the film. It is not necessary. It sounds like you are promoting the film by hyping up some clash in the introduction rather than contributing to the article. Such additions make the article feel fanboy-ish and hurt its chances of becoming a featured article. When the time comes Son of Sardaar will be mentioned in the Release and Box Office sections of the film. But that will happen after release and when those sections are written. There is no need to put it in the introduction. Ashermadan (talk) 01:22, 30 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Duplicate Accounts Warning edit

We know that you have another account named Sanjeetbond. I would advise you to stop using both accounts to get your point across. If you do not stop I will launch an investigation against you and have your IP addresses blocked from the service. Ashermadan (talk) 01:23, 30 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Ashermadan, the User:Sanjeetbond was block almost a year ago. So it's not accurate to say this person is using two accounts. However, having said that, do you have any evidence that this person is the same person who used to operate Sanjeetbond? If so, this account would be evading a block. However, you cannot make such accusations without evidence; doing so is a personal attack and can result in you being blocked. If you have evidence, feel free to explain here or on my talk page. Qwyrxian (talk) 01:34, 30 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
Actually, nevermind, I found the evidence. I've blocked this account indefinitely (block notice in the next post). Qwyrxian (talk) 01:38, 30 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

October 2012 edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for Block evasion. You are very clearly the same user as User:Rajnkanth1 and User:Sanjeetbond. So, you got lucky and managed to hang around for about 6 months before we noticed. You do understand that you'll eventually get caught every time, right? You are blocked. If you want to edit Wikipedia, go to your original account and request an unblock. Of course, the fact that you've been socking is going to mean you won't be unblocked, but maybe if you completely left Wikipedia for at least 6 months, then came back and explained what was wrong with your previous behavior, then maybe you could be unblocked. But socking is not the way.. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Proposed deletion of Son of Sardaar (soundtrack) edit

The article Son of Sardaar (soundtrack) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The article belongs to a film which has not released yet and its not too lengthy to fit in the main article. So i think it should be deleted and merged into the main article.

In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ---zeeyanketu talk to me 18:44, 12 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link fixing one-day contest edit

I have decided to put on a mini-contest within the November 2013 monthly disambiguation contest, on Saturday, November 23 (UTC). I will personally give a $20 Amazon.com gift card to the disambiguator who fixes the most links on that server-day (see the project page for details on scoring points). Since we are not geared up to do an automated count for that day, at 00:00, 23 November 2013 (UTC) (which is 7:00 PM on November 22, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the project page leaderboard. I will presume that anyone who is not already listed on the leaderboard has precisely nine edits. At 01:00, 24 November 2013 (UTC) (8:00 PM on November 23, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the leaderboard at that time (the extra hour is to give the board time to update), and I will determine from that who our winner is. I will credit links fixed by turning a WP:DABCONCEPT page into an article, but you'll have to let me know me that you did so. Here's to a fun contest. Note that according to the Daily Disambig, we currently have under 256,000 disambiguation links to be fixed. If everyone in the disambiguation link fixers category were to fix 500 links, we would have them all done - so aim high! Cheers! bd2412 T 02:25, 18 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Kshitij edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Kshitij, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
