The 2022 Asia Cup is the 15th edition of the Asia Cup cricket tournament, with the matches being played as Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) during August and September 2022 in UAE.[3][4] Originally scheduled to be held in September 2020, the tournament was postponed in July 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[5] It was then rescheduled to take place in Sri Lanka in June 2021,[6] before being postponed to again.[7] Pakistan were scheduled to host the tournament after retaining the rights to host the 2022 edition.[8] However, in October 2021, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) announced that Sri Lanka would host the tournament in 2022,[9] with Pakistan hosting the 2023 edition.[10] India are the defending champions.[11]

Format

edit

The Format was a Group Stage with 2 Groups of 3, where the Top 2 from each Group advanced to the Super Four Stage where it will be played as single round robin. The Top 2 in the Super Four Stage qualify to the final.
