Use of Commercial Sample Pack edit

The main synthesizer riff in this song uses a loop from a commercial sample pack. I added the following, which was removed due to lack of citation:

The synthesizer riff in this section can be found in the Vengeance "Electro Essentials" loop pack, a commercial collection of synthesizer loops and riffs, under the label "VEE Melody Kits 12 128 BPM Root E."

I'm re-iterating this here to avoid getting in an edit war. The citation is the statement itself - the riff used in Judas (during the juda-ah-ah part) is sold under the label "VEE Melody Kits 1 128 BPM Root E." I'm not sure how else to cite this. The user who deleted this entry should please explain how this reference is unsatisfactory and what specifically he's looking for in a citation for this fact.

First, please sign your posts, second you need to provide a reliable source noting the content that you are providing, otherwise its your original research, which is not acceptable here in Wikipedia. — Legolas (talk2me) 03:41, 12 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
The thing is, "Vengeance Electro Essentials" VEE Melody Kits 12 is a verifiable source in and of itself. Anyone with access to that product can verify the specific loop listed is the same loop used in Judas, transposed to another key. I'm not sure when recording obviously true and verifiable facts crosses the line of "original research" as regarding facts related to individual songs that don't have a large volume of research done on them which can be cited. Maybe this crosses the line and maybe it doesn't - perhaps a third party could weigh in, since we seem to have a difference of opinion. FYI the loop in question has been uploaded to Youtube. I realize a Youtube video isn't an encyclopedic source, but if anyone is curious here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQvGrOm7BDU Boatscaptain (talk)

Brazil Singles Chart edit

According to this chart (http://www.hot100brasil.com/chtsinglesb.html) Judas is at #7 this week on the Brazil singles chart and has reached a peak of #2. Is this a reliable source? Zpenguin23 (talk) 14:57, 17 July 2011 (UTC)Zpenguin23Reply

Controversy and lawsuit edit

I'm surprised nothing was mentioned here about the plagiarism allegations. MTV [1], Huffington Post [2], NBC [3], and TMZ [4] reported on it. --67.251.113.21 (talk) 05:06, 3 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Judas (song)Judas (Lady Gaga song) – Per WP:DAB, the traditional Judas (ballad) exists (and also happens to be much more notable as a "song" in print sources). Judas (disambiguation) lists 6 other pop songs mentioned in en.wp album articles. In ictu oculi (talk) 08:41, 9 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • Support. A ballad is indeed a kind of song, and there are too many other songs by this name for this one, which the relatively tepid performance on music charts suggests has not claimed the mantle of primacy. bd2412 T 12:51, 9 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Support Compare to the move of Jesse James (song) to Jesse James (Clay Walker song) given the existence of Jesse James (folk song) (which wasn't even a standalone article at the time). --BDD (talk) 18:14, 9 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Support: There are other songs with this name that are covered on Wikipedia, and this one does not seem to have a claim to especially dominant long-term notability. I generally believe that the names of artists should be included in the titles of articles about their songs and albums. That makes the titles more clear and recognizable, and avoids future maintenance headaches over whether to consider some particular song or album as primary. New releases often appear with the same names, and the popularity of music is volatile. WP:NCM supports this view. —BarrelProof (talk) 19:09, 9 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Support – Judas as a title isn't a Lady Gaga-specific song, so there should be a disambiguation in the title. --Article editor (talk) 01:08, 10 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Judas (Lady Gaga song)Judas (song) – Out of all the songs on the dab page, this is the only one with an article. JE98 (talk) 00:50, 21 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

No it isn't. In ictu oculi (talk) 17:31, 22 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose - the title is already disambiguated, so what will we gain from removing the artist part? It is obvious that this will eventually receive incoming links meant for the other songs, as at the minimum at least 2 of the artists are pretty big and have detailed album articles. Also, it is very plausible that a reader will be searching for Judas (song) and not wanting Lady Gaga song. --Gonnym (talk) 14:23, 21 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Clear support per WP:SONGDAB, unnecessary disambiguation when there are no other articles to disambiguate with. A hatnote can take care of the rest. PC78 (talk) 16:21, 21 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
Please see dab page. per WP:SONGDAB In ictu oculi (talk) 17:52, 22 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
WP:SONGDAB: If two or more musical compositions share their title but they are not of the same type, simple disambiguation may still be used, as long as it does not make a conflict between them, for example "Buckaroo" (song) and "Buckaroo" (instrumental), or "Sandstorm" (Cast song) and "Sandstorm" (instrumental). TBH though, I'm not sure why simple diambiguation is fine for "Buckaroo" but not "Sandstorm". PC78 (talk) 20:59, 22 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
PC78 did you look at dab page? Do you know what a ballad is? In ictu oculi (talk) 06:31, 25 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
