Missing articlesEdit

It would be useful if the project could come up with a list of missing articles, particularly for classical music.--Ipigott (talk) 14:44, 22 November 2019 (UTC)

---Sounds good. -- Happypillsjr 15:50, 23 November 2019 (UTC)

How about this?

Scope suggestionEdit

Would anyone be opposed to me editing the listed scope to change "women songwriters" to "women songwriters and composers" and "women singers" to "women musicians"? Alternatively, could change "women singers" to "women singers and instrumentalists." Jmertel23 (talk) 12:52, 30 November 2019 (UTC)

I'm going to go ahead with this change now. Thanks! Jmertel23 (talk) 15:42, 22 December 2019 (UTC)

Task force of WikiProject Women?Edit

Just floating the idea... how do editors feel about making this project a task force of WikiProject Women? If members prefer to keep as a standalone project, no worries, just wondering if the consolidation might make sense. ---Another Believer (Talk) 19:38, 18 January 2020 (UTC)

Project nameEdit

Why is this project's name using "in Music" when the relevant article is called Women in music? I can see no reason to use caps. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 02:06, 19 January 2020 (UTC)

PS: I notice there are 3 pages in Category:Project-Class Women in music articles that use lower case, and none, apart from this one, using upper case. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 02:09, 19 January 2020 (UTC)
Further, Template:WikiProject Women in music uses lower case. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 04:18, 19 January 2020 (UTC)

Female musicians and luthiersEdit

Hi all. I've created the following previously missing pages:

MusiciansEdit

LuthiersEdit

I'd be most grateful if you could help me to make them grow and I'll keep creating more since these are areas I'm interested in.

Regards, Jo Dusepo (talk) 11:40, 13 July 2020 (UTC)

Unassessed articlesEdit

I see that about two thirds of the WP Women in Music articles have not been assessed. Perhaps some of the project's participants could devote part of their editing time to assessment. I try to help out myself whenever I come across a talk page including Women in Music. Today there are 21,815 unassessed articles. Let's see how we progress over the coming months.--Ipigott (talk) 09:36, 24 October 2020 (UTC)

Jade Bird DOBEdit

Hey all, I'm trying to see if I can push this article as close to GA as possible and using Lorde as a guide. There are plenty of good sources out there and I can reckon I can do it. Only issue I've come across so far is, like a lot of BLPs I've seen, it's hard to find a reliable source for her date of birth. Does anyone have any tips? Thanks Spiderone 18:28, 30 October 2020 (UTC)

Assessment chart needs a look-overEdit

Could someone take a look at the Asessing importance section? It seems like it was originally copied from the Women Writers WikiProject, and wasn't fully changed (the examples were all of writers, not music-related). I edited it and added examples based off of already-assessed articles, but I'm not super familiar with assessing for this WikiProject. Thanks! - Whisperjanes (talk) 18:52, 8 November 2020 (UTC)

Nicole (German Singer)Edit

I've spent the last few days expanding the Nicole article. I've rewritten most of it and added some tables for her discography. Any feedback would be welcome. Up until a few days ago, I've mostly only done small edits on Wikipedia. GravityIsForSuckers (talk) 18:06, 18 December 2020 (UTC)

Kristle MurdenEdit

Would someone from this WikiProject take a look at Kristle Murden, assess it, and also see if they can help out the subject of the article at Talk:Kristle Murden#Maintenance template removal? Thanks. -- Marchjuly (talk) 08:50, 14 January 2021 (UTC)

Hùg Air A' Bhonaid MhòirEdit

Can we get help fixing this song's stub? Bearian (talk) 21:30, 17 January 2021 (UTC)

"all-female" bandsEdit

A new editor has made edits to a handful of articles ("all-female band"), pointing out in the edit summaries So an all-male band is just described as a "band," but an all-female band is an "all-female band"? I'd never really noticed that issue before, but now that RiverSapphire has pointed it out, I agree. Thoughts? Schazjmd (talk) 16:17, 23 March 2021 (UTC)

Rising AppalachiaEdit

I think this article is at least within range of something that could be improved to GA status. I've only submitted one article to GA (Last Exit on Brooklyn), years ago, when I believe the standards were lower, so I could use some other eyes/editors on the article... Skyerise (talk) 21:09, 28 December 2021 (UTC)

New Article: The Bisserov SistersEdit

I translated the article from Bulgarian Wikipedia, but it could use better sourcing. Skyerise (talk) 19:08, 2 January 2022 (UTC)

Baby Queen articleEdit

The article on Baby Queen has been expanded by more than 2000 words in the last few weeks, would anyone be able to give feedback / update it from stub class? Lornaliq (talk) 08:21, 5 January 2022 (UTC)

Danielle NicoleEdit

Does anyone know why Danielle Nicole has an italicized title? WP:ITALICTITLE doesn't seem applicable and I can't think of any other reason why this might've been done. -- Marchjuly (talk) 13:00, 17 March 2022 (UTC)

It was caused by the {{Infobox album}} template present at the "Danielle Nicole (EP)" section. That template automatically italicizes titles of articles where it's used. I've just fixed this by adding the parameter "|italic_title=no" to said infobox. Victor Lopes Fala!C 21:06, 17 March 2022 (UTC)
Thank you Victor Lopes. — Marchjuly (talk) 22:27, 17 March 2022 (UTC)

Draft review requestEdit

I submitted Draft:DeVita (singer) 3 weeks ago but it hasn't been reviewed yet. Can anyone review it? Thank you. 수행평가 (talk) 14:57, 20 March 2022 (UTC)

KAINAEdit

I recently created an article for the musician KAINA. Any help would be appreciated. Thriley (talk) 13:41, 8 April 2022 (UTC)

User script to detect unreliable sourcesEdit

I have (with the help of others) made a small user script to detect and highlight various links to unreliable sources and predatory journals. Some of you may already be familiar with it, given it is currently the 39th most imported script on Wikipedia. The idea is that it takes something like

  • John Smith "Article of things" Deprecated.com. Accessed 2020-02-14. (John Smith "[https://www.deprecated.com/article Article of things]" ''Deprecated.com''. Accessed 2020-02-14.)

and turns it into something like

It will work on a variety of links, including those from {{cite web}}, {{cite journal}} and {{doi}}.

The script is mostly based on WP:RSPSOURCES, WP:NPPSG and WP:CITEWATCH and a good dose of common sense. I'm always expanding coverage and tweaking the script's logic, so general feedback and suggestions to expand coverage to other unreliable sources are always welcomed.

Do note that this is not a script to be mindlessly used, and several caveats apply. Details and instructions are available at User:Headbomb/unreliable. Questions, comments and requests can be made at User talk:Headbomb/unreliable.
