The trivia section repeats things mentioned in the article, but I don't feel comfortable getting into an edit war with some Wikipedian who loves to section things off. • The article on Astrid Lindgren's most famous creation of all time is in terrible need of improvement. Even the long list of translations that comprises 2/3 of the entire page needs to move to Wiktionary.

Even more disappointingly, there are no Wikipedia pages on any of the film adaptations (with the exception of The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking) or the individual books, and nothing on the '60s Swedish show or the '90s Nelvana series.

Maybe a template covering the world of Pippi would be a good asset as well. --Slgr@ndson (page - messages - contribs) 17:49, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • As far as I can tell, it just needs everything sourced and cited better (especially the introduction), and the odd bit of rewriting and reorganization here and there (for instance, I'm not sure what to do with the Subgenres section other than remove or severely shorten it. They're all already on Fan fiction terminology, after all). Otherwise, I think it's thus far a good article on a very big (in range, history and definition!) subject, and could easily become a Good Article with a little citation work and a Featured Article with that and a little overall work (and a picture. Perhaps the cover of The Wind Done Gone or one of those illegal not-real Harry Potter sequels that were coming out in China a couple of years ago?). Runa27 21:43, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • This article, and most of its sub-articles are just plain poor. In specific, Audri DuBois, who was originally supposed to play Trini Kwan article reads, "She got the Part, and after the Pilot finished, she departed the show because she didn't feel that the show would be right for her. This was a big mistake because the show ended up being one of the most popular kids tv shows in the US. She never regretted this." I'm sure there are enough people who can wikify and improve this entire set of articles. I'd love to see featured status for this one. Mitch 07:23, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • America's Next Top Model, an article about the hit reality TV series that will be premiering for its 7th series in the fall, has the potential to be a great article, though it's ridden by random pictures, useless trivia, and general stylistic problems. Information about all 6 cycles of the show that have aired used to be on the page, but have since been moved to their separate articles, yet tons of information about each cycle, whether relevant are not, keep popping up. It would be great to get the help of those that aren't necessarily familiar with the show to provide unbiased opinions and changes. Fabricationary 04:05, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • totally irrelevant topic. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.199.90.37 (talkcontribs) 13:54, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
It's probably just as visible as those two pages. Look at the last 500 edits to see often the page is edited. Fabricationary 16:34, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
By that logic, South Park is a more important article than the Odyssey. First, that is flawed logic: how often an article is edited does not indicate how important it is. Second, pointing out that your article gets a lot of attention already is actually a fantastic reason not to nominate it for AID: AID is primarily for articles that don't get enough attention for their importance, and that is very rarely the case for mainstream pop-culture fixations like this, which receive sufficient attention relative to their importance already, and are likely to continue to receive increasing attention in the future. AID should help counter our bias towards mainstream pop culture by allowing us to focus our efforts on highly important under-edited articles; it shouldn't worsen our bias. -Silence 22:41, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, the article receives so much attention from inexperienced users that it needs attention by experienced editors to help sort out the essential content from the extraneous. I'm not making any statements toward the importance of articles here. If pop culture articles don't deserve the attention, then why did Futurama gain enough votes to become this week's selection over more scholarly topics, and why wasn't it shot down the very first week it was nominated? This is indeed a valid article that needs improvement, just as much as any other article here. Fabricationary 23:27, 24 July 2006 (UTC) ----[reply]

  • What? Gray Porpoise, you don't consider art important? "Six Feet Under" is important; more important than say cactus, a plant that is of little use to humans, and only grows in select areas (most of us haven't even seen a cactus). This wonderful show has meaning, and provides entertainment. It is brilliance in a medium that encourages stupidity. That's something special... BlueLotas 02:36, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • I don't believe that this is of low importance, just of somewhat less importance than the bare essentials. When we have brought topics of worldwide importance to acceptable quality, then we'll have lots of time to make articles on geographically-specific entertainment truly great. However, if someone can revive Wikipedia:Entertainment Collaboration of the week, I'll bet they'll snap this nomination right up! :) P.S. That was quite poetic. --Gray Porpoise 23:10, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Article about an important man in music history - one for young and old alike to relate to. Needs trimming slightly, 40kb. Needs many many more citations, and there is a mixed use of citations, which need changing to the recommended (but not required) style.
  • Note: John Peel was the commentator on independent popular music in the UK. There should be enough obituaries kicking around to fully support the content of the article (where accurate). - Samsara (talkcontribs) 08:20, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Arguably the most important Russian painter, but very little information, both on his life and on his work. In fact, the gallery is longer than the text. Things to be added are his influence on painting in the Soviet era, his ideas behind the paintings, the building of his house in Kuokkala, relationship with his friends (Tolstoy for example), his marriage and children (at least a daughter).

  • I'll support this nomination, but you should know this has no chance at all of winning. AID voters look down on music, and completely ignore such articles no matter how important they are. Take Jimi Hendrix, who lost some time back. Legendary musician passed over for some region in Moldivia. :( RomeoVoid 21:16, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I was one of the only editors who vosted for Jimi Hendrix. I was surprised, too, at how few votes he got. Then again, I'd rather have a classical composer or song improved than a modern one, simply because we have zero FAs for classical music thus far. -Silence 17:53, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have written most of this article and referenced it, but the man is so damn prolific I can't actually keep up with him. Damn his being an amazing and attractive actor and phenomenal polymath! But yeah, Alan's got so many projects coming out (4 films and 2 plays this year alone, not to mention his activism, his endless town-hopping, oh, and Cumming:the Fragrance...) and he's done so much I find I can't actually write it all by myself (though if you go through the history, I've given it a good try). Please can people give me a hand with this. Alan is a good man and this is a good article, it just needs a bit more info to be GA at least. Dev920 23:28, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Though his wikipedia article is rather poor right now, other users and I want to improve his article to show the world who he is. His website on his page is useful for information. Please don not copy directly from it though. It needs a major revamp, and I hope to get as many votes as possible behind it. Come On Vote Now! Thamizhan 14:40, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • The World Bank Group is a major international organization, gathering much criticism amidst vast promises. Such an important topic should not be presented so poorly, as it is now. The criticisms section vastly outweighs content regarding the performance record of the group, sources are almost never cited, and some of the content (particularly on the structure of the bank) is presented inaccurately. This article is in desperate need of attention. Brettbergeron 22:24, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I note also that User:Spirou's account was created thirty minutes before voting here, User:DeVandalizer's account was created two days before voting here, and User:Tagenar's account was created two days before voting here. All three users have less than ten edits. I consider this an abuse of the AID nominations process. --Ideogram 03:46, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I emailed Uzza myself when he voted suggesting that he consider making other edits on Wikipedia, but I got no reply. Since it's been a week, I would agree with removing his vote on that basis, as he appears to be foreign and will probably contribute to his own language Wikipedia if any.
The other three you mention are long-term members of WikiFur who have been encouraged to improve the furry fandom article for the reasons I specified below. WikiFur's sitenotice (for registered users only) contained a notice encouraging "Wikipedia editors" to help out, and a longer message (again, encouraging existing editors of Wikipedia to take part in the drive) was posted on the WikiFur LiveJournal. Many editors of WikiFur are also long-time editors of Wikipedia, so I don't see what was unreasonable about that - it's faster and less spammier than leaving a message on the talk page of every person in Category:Furry Wikipedians, which I did consider. Indeed, User:Pifactorial said they were about to make the same LiveJournal post.
If you want to discount the three voters mentioned because they're new, then the criteria for removing articles need to be changed to specifically say that new editors are not welcome to participate. My view is that, although it was not the intended result, Wikipedia just gained three new editors as a result of this entry. Spirou and DeVandalizer in particular have made significant contributions (500+ edits each) on WikiFur; I suspect they will become similarly active on Wikipedia over time, as Xydexx has. GreenReaper 04:50, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the explanation. I certainly can't change the AID voting policy by myself, but I did want to note that the sudden burst of votes looked suspicious. If the new editors do move on to become significant contributors I am all for it. --Ideogram 04:52, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome. I suspected we would get a good response from the postings - furries are enthusiastic people! WikiFur's reached 4,400 articles in just a year powered by the same enthusiasm (hmm, maybe we can call ourselves the The 4400 now? :-), and it seems like it would be a good idea to try and encourage editors who have "trained up" on wiki editing to come over to "the big wiki". We do our best to send over regular visitors, too - most articles that have an equivalent over here will link to it. GreenReaper 05:08, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Since voting on this AID, DeVandalize has made no contributions, and Spirou has made one (adding an IMDB link for an obscure article) along with a vote on an AfD. They may be active on Wikifur, but this isn't Wikifur and they haven't been active at all here. --Chad Hennings 23:38, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry about the long absence after voting. I have been working on WikiFur's Fursuit Central project and the wikisharp library for an anti-vandalism bot for wikifur. This has caused me to be absent from wikipedia for a while under User:DeVandalizer. I am a long term contributor but unfortunately most of my conributions are anonymous or are under nat ip's (Northwest Missouri State University). I am working on contributing to wikipedia to build up a reputation here but please don't discount me on this vote. I appologize for the sock puppet like behavior. -- DeVandalizer 05:46, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If possible, I would like to cast my vote anew, as I've tried to contribute and chime in on the discussions where I feel that I could do that. I'll also try to continue to give my oppinion on subjects if it's needed and if I can add to the current discussions. Uzza 21:15, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see a problem with that - heck, your subsequent contributions were deletion-related, you should fit in just fine here at Wikipedia. ;-p GreenReaper 21:56, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I tried coming up with a good way of saying that my vote could be counted again, but my wiki markup knowledge is pretty basic so I don't know if I could do it the way I thought. So at the moment I just removed the info on my old vote. And I always seem to forget to sign... Uzza 07:58, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is currently a high class B article, verging on good article status in the culture and society section. I think it with a bit more general polishing from experienced Wikipedians it could easily achieve this status, and I would hope that it could reach class A, or beyond. As google's first hit for the term "furry fandom", it is the place where a lot of people will go to find information about the fandom, and I think it is important that it be the best it can be. GreenReaper 20:31, 15 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The article already links to the furry Wiki. Although the votes in support of this article are probably well-intentioned, I think a lot of regular contributors to the AID are unable to relate to the furry concept (that's certainly true for me although I can't say I've contributed much in the AID lately). As an encyclopedia, focusing too much on things like this - and I did not say the word fancruft! :P - is where WP:BIAS comes from. But hey, every dog (pun intended) deserves his day I suppose. Moulder 15:07, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I thought bias was about covering topics in an improper manner, or failing to cover those that "do matter"? AID does not seem to be about that, seeing as it improves existing articles that are beyond the stub phase - it seems more like Collaboration of the Week territory.
WikiFur is a good wiki, but I would hesitate to call it totally unbiased; just redirecting people there for a comprehensive overview isn't a good solution. After all, its own motto is "by furries, for furries, about furries". While it may take some of the pressure off furry article creation/deletion, that just means that those that remain here need to be of a higher standard. It is certainly not a replacement for a good article here, and I think that such an article cannot be provided solely by members of the fandom - or by the combination of the fandom and its detractors.
If nothing else, AID contributors could highlight points which are unfamiliar to them and which need more explanation or referencing. Being "unable to relate" seems to be a sign of that - is there a sticking point in understanding? GreenReaper 20:46, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Bias also encompasses covering things out of proportion to their importance. All I meant about being unable to relate, really, is that users are more likely to contribute to an article that interests them or with which they have experience. I've no room to talk, having nominated Star Trek: Deep Space Nine for GA COTW, but AID was historically for the most encyclopedic (math, sciences, english, history etc) topics which is partly why it came to hold more prominence in people's minds than other COTWs. I didn't mean to pick on the furries, because manga and such are in the same category, particularly when people vote because they're told to, but as I said, I'm not implying these topics aren't "worthy" of AID. It's just my opinion. Moulder 21:34, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I just found this article basically empty. I added as much as I could borrowing from many other articles but it is still very lacking. I figure this article represents a major world-view, and would serve some good educational purposes for people who argue morality is impossible for atheists and agnostics alike. If these weren't a major part of the world's religions, I would say secular ethics apply to anyone, regardless of religion. Star Ghost 19:08, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Many articles can and sooner or later will be improved by someone; 'Secular Ethics' is different because the subject may all too easily invite a personal view to appear, and very few individual writers might obtain a correctly balanced weight of the different approaches. It will hardly get enough votes to hang on here, though it surely deserves and I'm afraid it requires a commitment by an experienced and qualified team of authors. I hope they are willing to accept this challenge for the sake of having a decent article that is unlikely to win prizes. SomeHuman 18:23, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I agree this is one of those short, yet promising articles. Would be a great candidate for a multiuser edit due to its tendency to become NPOV. With a team of people checking on each other it could become a very interesting and useful article. Plm209 11:48, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • This is a high-traffic article often linked to in the leads of biographies. It is in need of cleanup and a full content check. Parts of the history section and demographics appear to contradict other articles on Japan and Japanese history. It has a questionable section on nonverbal language that is more thorough than the section on Japanese itself. The pictures chosen are also questionable. This needs a lot of help. Dekimasu 11:42, 16 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • The nomination looks unlikely to progress any further, but please stop by and take a look at the article when you have the chance. It remains in dire need of reworking. Dekimasu 02:34, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • The number of edits to the article has increased since it's been listed here; that's great. One request... editors have recently been changing the numbers on Japanese populations in various countries back and forth without citation, leaving us no way to know which number is correct. If you can add citations to the population numbers in the infobox, please do so. Dekimasu 02:25, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • The proposed article (Japanese people) is very close to being organized enough to remove the cleanup tag, so it should be a good article to work on. Gronkmeister 15:27, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Anyone who can add a section on the burakumin, please do so. Also, information in the article on the history of emigration to South America and former Japanese territories is sorely lacking, and the culture/religion section is almost nonexistent. I agree that the cleanup tag is almost ready to be taken off... but no reason not to help while we're in the nomination stage! Dekimasu 05:54, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • One of the most important events in Modern Middle Eastern History has been wracked by constant edit warring and gate keeping. Article was nominated fot Featured Article, and was rejected. It has great potential because of the vast amount of information available on the subject, but could use some cooler heads and editors involved.

  • The location this article is about will be getting a great deal of attention as the forthcoming 400th anniversary celebration Jamestown 2007 is getting world-wide attention. The article, of special interest to U.S. and U.K. writers, has had a lot added in the past year or so, but is in serious need of attention. The lead is way too long, and there is a lack of consistency and references. This is an excellent candidate for a WP showcase piece, IMHO. Please help, fellow Wikipedians! Thanks. Mark in Historic Triangle of Virginia Vaoverland 17:02, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I would like to see this article improved so that it meets the criteria to be a featured article. It would be nice to have it featured in time for the 400 year aniversary of Jamestown next year. --Willy No1lakersfan (Talk - Contribs) 21:20, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I second this reasoning. The big 400 is up and I think the article will be in demand. Lets make it a prime example of what this project can do.~ (The Rebel At) ~ 04:01, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Maybe appropriate for a Wikiproject improvement drive, but rather provincial in its scope. This town isn't even inhabited anymore. Suggest nominating elsewhere. Durova 15:37, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • It could hardly be less "provincial" as it was a key settlement in the histories of the United States and of the British Empire. What has happened to it since in no way undermines its importance. Cloachland 01:30, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
      • An excellent example of U.S. bias: an archaeological site that hasn't been politically significant since the seventeenth century and was only modestly important in its brief heyday as a malarial provincial backwater whose economy depended on tobacco and slavery. DurovaCharge! 16:43, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • For such a huge diasaster, this page is very poor. What is there needs a good copyedit, but at least it's there. The biggest problem is what's not there. The article makes no mention of the methods of investigation used, which were highly unusual due to the lack of an oil platform to examine (only part of it was ever recovered, only near the end of the investigation, and only in an attempt to recover bodys, not get investigative material), so instead the investigation focused almost entirely on blueprints and eyewitnesses, normally only part of the selection of availible references. It tells us what the investigation worked out happened, but not how it reached it's conclusions. Also a lack of references and info about safety improvements made as a result. Not even a picture. It has more than just dicdef potential, but someone has overdone it with an enormous section on Appeasement of Hitler, which deserves (and probably has) its own article. Also, the references are questionable and there is quite a bit of OR. It's a shame, because this could be a nice article on a word, similar to war, Intelligence, or laughter. • This is a very important subfield of biology yet all we have is a stub. While the Evolution page has endless debates over whether creationism should be included, debates that go nowhere but consume many many hours of time by several editors (some quite capable), here is an important scientific topic practically abandoned. Lexor suggested merging it with another article - I have no objection and leave this decision to biologists. But whether merged or kept, I think this is th perfect example of a scientific topic that deserves attention and care to help make this a great encyclopedia.

In fact, if anyone actually knows an embryologist, please encourage them to contribute!

  • Really sparse. The article isn't much more than a brief description of the shell, a few paragraphs about some really long-lived specimens, and a list of species. Nothing about some of the most elementary things people want to know about an animal: how it reproduces, where it lives, what it eats, its endangered status. • The water cycle is fundamental to Earth science and in understanding how the Earth works. It is the basis for understanding local and global water resources as well as the two most costly natural disasters - droughts and floods. The article would benefit from references, expansion of a few sections, perhaps graphics to replace the tables, and a little tidying up.

If you think it is already feature-quality, but don't want to nominate it immediately, request a peer review. The AID is for articles with known issues, usually major, standing between them and featured status. Seahen 15:38, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
This article just failed its FAC. Information wise, it is FA material. However, it is not referenced extensively enough to qualify for FA (and this is really the only thing keeping it from FA status). Most of the stuff is not difficult to reference, it is just time consuming. If it is AID, we can all pitch in and have the article at FA status in a week. PDXblazers 05:13, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • As good a nominee as ever. Originally a COTW nom that failed, but developed into an article due to a group of editors (including yours truly) who saw its potential and vast scope. Unfortunately, all we could find were outdated sources and thus the article remains in a permanent sort of limbo. Would love to see someone (or someones) make it the featured article it could be. juppiter talk #c 08:32, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Cancer research rarely has a week without a major announcement that hits the media, and has multiple major studies coming out every single day. A blanket cure for cancer is supposedly a 50 trillion dollar achievement. At this point we're engineering things as complicated as vaccinia viruses with strong antitumor properties, and we've had various anticancer drugs on the market for years. Yet Pokemon Green has more information than Cure for cancer. I'd like to see a collaboration detailing the major areas of research and their progress forwards. Wikipedia is not a medical journal, but it should be able to give much more information than this. Lesqual 02:22, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I know little about metabolism, but it is of huge importance. It is (literally) a matter of life-and-death. There must be an abundance of editors who can make this into an FA-qulaity article in no time, if only it had proper publicity and focus. There are so many sources that could be used to reference this article, and many images that can be used to illustrate the text, that finding material will be no problem. To be frank, this might well be considered a core topic-in-waiting, so let's get it to FA asap. Batmanand | Talk 19:18, 17 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • This has been on Wikipedia:Most wanted stubs since January, and it is a basic physical concept. The target audience of this article is probably elementary school science students; content appropriate to that age level needs to be added. -- Beland 18:46, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Spacecraft is an important subject which many people probably search for and want to read about. Currently, the article has just a few one-or-two-sentence descriptions for "typical spacecraft subsystems" and a list of spacecraft programs. It should definitely be improved. —Mets501 (talk) 00:55, 24 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I completely agree. Anything broad and general like this, which is linked to from all over the place, definitely needs to be of the highest quality. FA? With some work, yeah.

  • The Dvorak Layout needs to be popularised and if it is featured in Wikipedia's Main Page it will be brought to the notice of many computer users, thus giving them a chance to consider the switch from Qwerty to Dvorak, and thus reduce their chances of Repetitive Stress Injuries. If more people use Dvorak, operating system developers like Microsoft, Apple, Linux developers, etc. will consider having both Qwerty and Dvorak readily available in their latest operating systems by default, and make switching between easier than before. Also they may consider including a supplementary Dvorak layout that switches to Qwerty for shortcuts (Apple has already done so). ADTC 21:50, 25 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I was intrigued by this - this is the #10 website in the world, and we have nothing to say about it other than that it exists. Granted that it is Chinese-language only, so it may be a challenge to write about. Can we meet the challenge? I include the ISP NetEase since its article also seems to be stubbed. KWH 02:06, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • The article concerning 163.com might as well be merged with NetEase. It's going to be pretty challenging to include information from reference sources, as most of these are bound to be in Chinese. A good starting point is the company's own investor information, which is translated to English. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 20:02, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Not an appropriate nomination here. This stub should be nominated at WP:COTW. AID is for non-stubs only. Davodd 06:50, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • This is of top importance among gaming articles. As a game that's as massively popular (in multiple countries) as it's massively multiplayer, many people will want to read this article. With many of our editors interested in things like this, there won't be too much of a problem upgrading this to featured status. • I would love to see this article in better shape. Although, it'd be nice if there was some policy or something somewhere... People are very eager to contribute what I feel to be way too specific in-game knowledge, of little to no use to Wikipedia as a whole. Whatever, looking forward to it. --Htmlism 04:20, 2 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Adhesive tape is the general name of duct tape, masking tape, and scotch tape, if you don't relize the difference. • This is my pet article; I first heard about the ship by reading literally six words in an atlas - "The Icebird docked at Mawson Station", and I thought "I know: I'll search for it on Wikipedia." Unfortunately there wasn't an article, so I did a little research and came up with what is there at the moment. However, it is still very short, and needs NPOVing and Wikification. Some extra references and actual material would be helpful. I hope to get it to FA, with or without your help; I would, however, prefer help. Your one true god is David P. A. Hunter, esq. • This article has recently been translated from French to English. It lacks references, needs some wikification, doesn't read like an encyclopedia article and seems to be POV biased. Organization of the sections still seems quirky after several attempts on my behalf to improve it. Of note, Guillotine is usually associated with death penalty in France, and the previous has a pretty complete article including two sections on DP in France.

  • This article concerns one of the most notable video games ever. It has over 400 inbound links and a PageRank of 6. Although it is thorough, it needs major cleanup. It is currently rated B-class on this assessment scale and has 11 substantial issues that need to be fixed before it becomes a good article. However, I believe that the AID could provide the editorial attention needed to bring it to featured article status, or at least A-class. (It currently receives few legitimate edits.) • An integral work that sheds much light on the current War on Terror and its global repercussions. Almost there - just needs some fact-checking and footnoting.
  • This article is in bad, bad shape. It's not "almost there", it's not even close—almost the entire article is in list format, when it should be in prose format, and its referencing is poor and highly inconsistent (and some of its more dramatic statements are completely unreferenced). It's also on the short side. -Silence 22:50, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The article is an important topic expecially after the Great Depression, Dot-com boom and the effects outsourcing has on an economy. • Oil tankers are very important, especially in the modern economy. Yet it has no images, no headings and is virtually link free, baring the see also at the bottom, while the last 'paragraph' is completely out-of-place trivia about Condoleeza Rice. This article definitely needs improvement, and ideally from those with a little more knowledge than me about tankers. smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 18:48, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Restorationism is a movement to restore what adherants believe was the original version of Christianity prior to the Great Apostasy. OTOH, other Christian denominations don't always recognize restorationists as being Christians. Denominations included under the term "restorationism" include Latter-Day Saints, Adventists, Christadelphians and Jehovah's Witnesses.
  • The article is in terrible shape compared to the articles on the other branches of Christianity. Work is needed on grammar, NPOV, formatting, wikification, fact checking and sourcing.
  • Those who signed the Christianity nomination above may also want to help out here. Arch O. La Grigory Deepdelver 15:46, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • This article is in horrible condition! It was even put up for deletion as a dicdef! For such a common object, this should definitely be a good or even featured article. EdGl 15:55, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • It's certainly in a terrible state - but it's a really tough article to write. The term is insanely general. Almost anything you could say about a box, you can come up with a counter-example (eg: "Boxes are cuboids"...argh - except for heart-shaped chocolate boxes...and cylindrical hat boxes...and...OK: "Boxes can be any shape". "Boxes are made from cardboard"...er...or wood, steel, aluminum, paper, plastic...OK "Boxes can be made of anything", how about "Boxes are for storing things in"...except musical boxes, which aren't. "Boxes were invented by..."...urgh...nevermind.) Is there anything you can say about boxes without so many caveats and exceptions as to make the article meaningless? I can't see how to improve it. I'm thinking this should be a disambiguation page that points to all of the various kinds of boxes and that there should not be an article about boxes in general at all. Either way - I'm not voting for it! SteveBaker 15:16, 28 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • That already exists, at Box (disambiguation). I put this article up for deletion - maybe I should have just made it a redirect? Does anyone have any idea how it could actually be improved? Vizjim 15:05, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • Hopefully all of the people who voted to keep it in the AfD will be flocking in with their good ideas and offers of help...hopefully. SteveBaker 12:55, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • Boxes have great cultural significance, particularly in folklore, literature and art, and the article should focus on that. Xanthoxyl 16:24, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • People have ruined this article and it needs to be neutral and clear like it once was, with clear show airing times and logos. Aleksander Shilling 15:21, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • The logos that were in the article can't be re-added as they are in violation of WP:FAIR as explained on the talk page. Airing times can't be placed there either as they violate WP:NOT#DIR and WP:SPAM. I still agree it needs a major clean-up though. --tgheretford (talk) 16:14, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • A pathetically short article in which the major proportion currently is taken up by a list of potential crossings. Needs a lot more meat on its bones for such a long-running idea and such a controversial project. Aerobird 21:07, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Also, it should be noted that anonymous users who are only identified by their IP addresses are not allowed to vote here. On that basis I am removing the above anonymous vote.
