Final Wishes and Requests

Anyone who knows me well, such as my friend Doug, knows I am not a fan of the Wikidrama. So I have three very simple, easy to follow requests.

1. I left Wikipedia for a reason and if I wanted to come back I could do so easily. I am unlikely to be swayed by declarations of sorrow. I feel all too many people say they're "leaving WP 4evar" just to generate pity, or have a lot of people tell them to come back so they can feel good about themselves. Folks, I got a life, outside of this, and people who I actually do thing with away from the computer. I'm leaving the Wiki because the juvenile actions of some people piss me off. I'll come back if I need something, but I don't want a thousand comments.

2. Go create an article from scratch, after spending an hour in a library. You know, the buildings with actual books in them? Get you a notepad. A pencil. Some coke. Some music on your iPod. Shit, take your friends. Go study a subject and write notes down. LEARN something, then make an article on it, a NEW one. Or print out an existing one and take it to the library, or the university, and make it better.

The whole point of this project, ostensibly, is the creation and codification of knowledge. It's not a social club. It's not a place to champion your nationalistic views, or your racist theories, or your stupid conspiracies. Making an encyclopedia requires research, and wanting to learn, and doing it right.

3. Don't bother responding on this talk page. After the mess involving Gracenotes' RfA, I realized that there is a reason for me to be permanently gone. There is no drama, WP and I just don't mix. Best to move on. Vaya con dios.

I'm done here. If you need to get into contact with me, my email is at the top of the page.

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. For the Election committee, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 16:04, 23 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of File:Countbutton.PNG edit

Notice

The file File:Countbutton.PNG has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unused personal image.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
