2022 pregnancy of a 10-year-old in Ohio

Hello Jax 0677. Do you believe that your early version of the article is in accordance with WP:NPOV?

Also, do you have any WP:COIs (such as political or religious connections) to disclose regarding the topic of abortion?

Regards, MrsSnoozyTurtle 23:49, 4 January 2023 (UTC)

  1. Yes, why would it not be?
  2. No, why do you think so?
--Jax 0677 (talk) 23:57, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
Thank you for replying. I am concerned about your understanding of the NPOV policy then, since the following bolded (by me) wording of yours seems to misrepresent the situation: "...in which a ten year old woman was allegedly forced upon and impregnated by an adult male. The woman traveled...".
Also, the inclusion of only the anti-abortion perspective doesn't meet WP:BALANCED and the sentence about David Yost is not an accurate summary of the source.
The reason I asked about WP:COI is that you seems to have an interest about abortion in the United States, a country where the abortion issue is closely tied to politics and religion. So I thought there might be some association that potentially affecting (possibly subconsciously) your edits about this topic.
Regards, MrsSnoozyTurtle 02:14, 5 January 2023 (UTC)
  • Reply - @MrsSnoozyTurtle:, I do not believe Woman, Forced nor Adult violates WP:NPOV Even if it did, the gravity of the mistakes is not a big deal. I am not sure how you got info about my interest in abortion, as my goal is to objectively cover a story. Wikipedia has many stubs, and the article has since been expanded to my satisfaction. Thanks! --Jax 0677 (talk) 23:05, 13 January 2023 (UTC)

Messer (band)

In Messer (band), terms like "serendipitously waltzed into" are not acceptable. Read WP:TONE: Formal tone means that the article should not be written using argot, slang, colloquialisms, doublespeak, legalese, or jargon that is unintelligible to an average reader; it means that the English language should be used in a businesslike manner. "Serendipitously waltzed into" is slang and shouldn't be in the article. Ten Pound Hammer(What did I screw up now?) 18:13, 25 January 2023 (UTC)

Hey there! It's been a little bit since my revision to this page, but I wanted to ask why you decided to revert my changes. I understand that the tours that I added to the template do not yet have corresponding pages to link to, but as I understand it, it is a list of the tours the artist has played, and not a list of existing Wikipedia articles that exist about the artist's tours. Proposed deletion of March 2023 nor'easter

The article March 2023 nor'easter has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article unnecessary, not enough info, can easily be merged into the main winter article.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. 72.50.16.181 (talk) 15:20, 18 March 2023 (UTC)

2023 United States E. coli outbreak moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, 2023 United States E. coli outbreak, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 14:18, 8 April 2023 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Rupinder

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Rupinder requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
  • disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
  • is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.  – CityUrbanism 🗩 🖉 10:06, 9 April 2023 (UTC)

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on JR Bareis requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Your draft article, Draft:Cleanse (album)

Hello, Jax 0677. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Cleanse".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. Paul Reubens ‎

Regarding Paul Reubens, the "GAR" I referred to in the edit summary is a Good Article Reassessment. My hope was that the reassessment would drive others to improve the sourcing issues, but it was delisted from being a good article instead of being given time to improve (which was fair, since it did need a lot of improvement). That said, I have swapped out the sources tag for a {{BLP sources}}, which I have said many times is the template you should be using on a biography of a living person if it needs more sources. Regardless, let me take the opportunity to ask if the addition of the same information would be okay if there were no (red) links (i.e., just adding the name and year as plain text). Thanks Dannyps (talk) 06:57, 26 May 2023 (UTC)
Perhaps I can explain it better than Jax. Navigation templates are for navigating between articles. They're not meant to be used as complete discographies. Definitely make sure they're on the band's respective discography section or article, but they shouldn't be on the navigation template there unless they have their own article to navigate the reader to. I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Winged Waltz, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Winged Waltz.

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Chris troutman}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

NFCC

Good day, fair use images should ideally have their NFCC criteria stated. {{Non-free use rationale album cover}} has default values while {{Non-free use rationale 2}} doesn't. Please revert the 2 edits. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 03:08, 1 November 2023 (UTC)

Hello, I came across this discussion through the previously mentioned inquiry at the help desk. I've decided to reply here to keep things in one place.
Minorax's edits changed the template for the rationale to the more specific {{Non-free use rationale album cover}}, which includes pre-filled information to address the most common use of an album cover. Since the previous rationale had just "n.a." for the "Not replaceable with free media because" and "Respect for commercial opportunities" fields, those edits were in fact adding information, not removing it. I believe the edits are correct here.

Blood Red Throne

Your attempt to go against the decision made in WP:Articles_for_deletion/Blood_Red_Throne_(2nd_nomination) was disruptive, and unbefitting an editor of your experience. I deleted it per CSD:G4, and salted the page to prevent repeated attempts. As I mentioned to you before, if you wish to contest the result of an AfD, the place to do it via WP:DRV, not by ignoring consensus. Owen× 20:27, 15 November 2023 (UTC)

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:31, 28 November 2023 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2023 November 22

This has been closed as vacating the AfD and restoring the article, on the basis of the new information presented by @Cunard. Could you please look to incorporate that 'new information' as soon as practical? I have asked for a short grace period before anyone considers a potential AfD renomination, but ultimately that was only a polite request and I can't mandate any delay should someone wish to nominate it. Cheers, Daniel (talk) 23:25, 1 December 2023 (UTC)

  • Reply - @Daniel:, if only I had infinite time to do so. --Jax 0677 (talk) 23:41, 1 December 2023 (UTC)

Category:South American pop singer navigational boxes

Hello, Jax 0677,

Category redirects are created differently that article redirects. Please look at the code/template on this page so you can make category redirects more easily in the future. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 21:27, 21 November 2023 (UTC)

Also the same with Category:American country rock singer navigational boxes. Liz Read! Talk! 21:29, 21 November 2023 (UTC)
  • Reply - @Liz:, thank you for your message, but is it a big deal if I create the redirects in the conventional manner, which will likely be fixed by bots anyway? --Jax 0677 (talk) 14:33, 22 November 2023 (UTC)
    • Reply - @Liz:, I guess not. --Jax 0677 (talk) 23:17, 3 December 2023 (UTC)

Template cats

Instead of linking BRD, which means nothing in this context, you should've linked WP:CAT#T which makes your point more clearly than you did in your edit summary. I now realize my mistake (I was thinking of adding the category to the template but had it the other way around), so I concede that you were correct, but you could've done a better job explaining it instead of just telling me to discuss even though I already reverted you and arguably you were the one obligated to start a discussion at that point anyway. QuietHere (talk | contributions) 13:47, 8 December 2023 (UTC)

  • Reply - @QuietHere:, please link to the article in question when posting on a talk page. You were bold, I reverted, so the next step would be to discuss. Templates should usually only have template categories. --Jax 0677 (talk) 15:31, 9 December 2023 (UTC)

Invitation

Hello Jax 0677, we need experienced volunteers.
  • New Page Patrol is currently struggling to keep up with the influx of new articles. We could use a few extra hands on deck if you think you can help.
  • Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time but it requires a good understanding of Wikipedia policies and guidelines; Wikipedia needs experienced users to perform this task and there are precious few with the appropriate skills. Even a couple reviews a day can make a huge difference.
  • Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision (if it looks daunting, don't worry, it basically boils down to checking CSD, notability, and title). If this looks like something that you can do, please consider joining us.
  • If you would like to join the project and help out, please see the granting conditions. You can apply for the user-right HERE.
  • If you have questions, please feel free to drop a message at the reviewer's discussion board.
  • Cheers, and hope to see you around.

New page reviewer granted

Hi Jax 0677. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Please check back at the permissions page in case your user right is time-limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page or ask via the NPP Discord. In addition, please remember:

  • Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
  • If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page, including checking for copyright violations using Earwig's copyright violation detector, checking for duplicate articles, and evaluating sources (both in the article, and if needed, via a Google search) for compliance with the general notability guideline.
  • Please review some of our flowcharts (1, 2) to help ensure you don't forget any steps.
  • Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. If you can read any languages other than English, please add yourself to the list of new page reviewers with language proficiencies. – Joe (talk) 13:22, 20 December 2023 (UTC)

Autopatrolled

Hi Jax 0677, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled user right to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers.

Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject templates, stub tags, categories, and incoming links to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.

Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! – Joe (talk) 13:23, 20 December 2023 (UTC)
