In Wikipedia, article, you can only add a URL (that is, a link to outside of Wikipedia) in certain situations, such as:

  • in citations
  • in the External links section (see WP:EL for the relevant policy)
  • in fields of tables and infoboxes that specifically request a URL

So your external links to the ships Riviera and Manuka have been replaced with Wikipedia red links (meaning links to a Wikipedia articles that hasn't been written so far). Kerry (talk) 06:17, 1 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Trove newspaper citations

edit

Hi, great work on SS Canastota. I notice that you appear to be doing something the "hard way" when it comes to citations. For example, you have added a citation to

The Mercury (Hobart), Wednesday 18 August 1915, Page 4

in relation to the hydro-electric power station. Now I am guessing you are probably finding these newspaper articles on Trove. If so, there is a much easier way to cite that newspaper article. So when you are looking at a Trove newspaper article which is

https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/10425586

for the citation in question, look over on the left-hand side and there is a tool bar. By default it will show you the "A" view, but if you click on the "i" in a circle above, and then left-hand window should show a heading called "Details". Scroll down to the bottom of that list and you will find the pre-formatted Wikipedia citation

{{cite news |url=http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article10425586 |title=THE HYDRO-ELECTRIC SCHEME. |newspaper=[[The Mercury]] |volume=CIII, |issue=14,178 |location=Tasmania, Australia |date=18 August 1915 |accessdate=13 February 2018 |page=4 |via=National Library of Australia}}

Just copy that (don't worry if you can't understand it) and use it instead of typing in "The Mercury (Hobart), Wednesday 18 August 1915, Page 4" and this is what you will get

On her first voyage to Australia as the 'Canastota' in 1915, she carried transformers and components for power lines associated with the Waddamana Hydro-Electric Power Station in Tasmania.[1]

This is a much easier-for-you citation to create and it is a much more useful citation for the reader, who can now click on the link and be taken straight to the newspaper article to read it. (It's win-win!) Try it. If you have any problems, please don't hesitate to ask.

Note these pre-formatted citations are available for all Trove newspaper articles, but also for everything else in Trove such as books, journals, pictures, maps, etc -- only for these other types of things, you look for the button "Cite this" instead of "i" in a circle. Kerry (talk) 14:39, 12 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Wow, those citations are looking very impressive now! Great work! Kerry (talk) 15:19, 13 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hello TrimmerinWiki, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Draft:Coastal coal-carrying trade of New South Wales have been removed, as they appear to have added copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 13:56, 21 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

  • Naming conventions generally exclude ‘The’ in titles, and I can’t see there is sufficient rationale in including it at this stage. I can understand however if you feel it should be the singular ‘Spring’ rather than the plural ‘Springs’. Given there are two other articles, Chalybeate Springs, the standard approach is to include the location. Whilst there are other Chalybeate Springs in New South Wales the others do not have articles at this stage. If articles were created for those then you would differentiate them by their locality names. Dan arndt (talk) 02:45, 26 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

not being (too) rude, just inquisitive … where ? do you get your trove cites ? I'm curious as they are outdated, and not well constructed, they're good and are working, but the dates are all yymmdd when they should be dd-mon-yy and trove does provide them in the correct format.
so, curious ?

Hi Dave, Thanks for your example. It clearly shows that there is a difference in the way the references that I make are being made, and your way. As well as the date difference, there your way is also embedding more information. So, to help expose what I am doing wrong, I will walk through exactly what I am doing, and perhaps that will expose the issue. 1. I find the article I want to cite in Trove. 2. I copy the URL from the address bar of the browser. (For your example above this is https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/112450756 ) 3. I then hit the Cite icon at the top of hte page, and the cite box pops up. 4. With the cite box in 'Auto", I then paste the above URL into the one blank space that appears, and press the Generate button. 5. I then press Insert to insert to on-line citation. BTW, I may or may not be logged into Trove as a user when I do the above. Let me know what you think. TrimmerinWiki (talk) 06:22, 22 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

ok, I see why then. 1 go to the article. 2 click the little tab on the left at the top, info details, 3 bottom section is Wikipedia citation
Often requires trimming or link checking for papers Dave Rave (talk) 06:25, 1 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
your 3&4, cite, auto, where is that ? I see cite, with a Templates named refs error check, drop down the templates, cite web. Dave Rave (talk) 06:35, 1 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Dave Rave:Dave, Thanks for that. I have unfortunately made many hundreds of citations, without using the Wikipedia citation from that info drp-down on Trove (since it seemed to work OK). I will start using the specialised wikipedia citation information from now on ... never too late to be correct.

your cites are fine apart from they all have the dates in the wrong format, but that is. Less a prob now that the Use Dates option works.Dave Rave (talk)

When I talk about cite box in Auto, I am getting there by clicking on the "Cite on the top bar of the Wikipedia article, when it is in "Edit". The pop-up box that comes up is called 'Add a citation' and it has three tabs 'Automatic' Manual' and 'Re-use'. My 3 & 4 above are talking bout what happens with the 'Automatic' tab. I was just cutting and pasting the Trove URL into that box, because it offers URL as one of the optional entries (others are ISBN, etc. .... or as I see now 'citation'). Hope that this explains it. I assume that I should have been pasting the Trove Wikipedia citation into this box. --TrimmerinWiki (talk) 07:13, 1 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

you must be using an edit addon plugin Dave Rave (talk) 04:47, 2 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Dave Rave:Dave, I am having trouble understanding your concern. The 'pop-up box' is just what appears, when you (or I) click on the 'Cite' part of the bar across any Wikipedia page when the page is in edit (not edit source, edit). All I have been doing incorrectly in previous citations from Trove that I was using the url of the Trove page, not the Wikipedia citation provide on the Trove page. I am not using an 'edit add on plugin". I have changed to using the Wikipedia citation from now. Hope that this answers your concern.TrimmerinWiki (talk) 10:46, 7 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

I think I may have found an answer, are you hard code editing or using the VisualEditor ? Dave Rave (talk) 05:27, 19 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Dave Rave:Dave, I am overwhelmingly using visual editor but, very occasionally, I do use the source editor when it is easier to do what I need to achieve.TrimmerinWiki (talk) 06:11, 19 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

that's the prob, I only just found it yesterday for a table edit, and using the cite option, pasting a trove ref in auto gets filled in with yy-mon-dd date conversions, if you use the manual option it doesn't do the date translate which are correctly supplied from trove already. Fascinating

edit

It seems that the reviewers of your articles know absolutley nothing about local context of your articles, and yet you have got some substantial good quality contributions there. By the time you go from the Tasmanian item to the Western Australian one - your lead paragraphs are improving. One big problem for writing about places you clearly have been nowhere near is the paucity of links. The Tasmanian article could deserve a few more if you looked back at it. The hidden story of the Western Australian one - is the total lack of anything about the railway system that supported the transport. You must be commended on your substantial effort in creating articles in areas that many current editors seem very short on - subjects and locations otherwise neglected. Well done for that. JarrahTree 23:41, 24 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Also SS_Canastota is clearly worth taking through into the GA FA process for one of the higher quality Australian maritime history articles - you should investigate the possibility. JarrahTree 23:53, 24 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
waiting around for editors who probably know nothing about the subject or the context is a bit tedious, I would have put Ilfracombe Iron Company up in main space without hesitation myself... I know there are advantages in having a breathing space available, but the quality of your new articles are far the most substantial and correct MOS and compliant with WP:ABOUT in the new edits in the Australian for a very long time (ie not simply lifted from material outside and dropped in) - if there was an oz award for substantial new contributions that benefit the oz content - youre a definite candidate... imho of course JarrahTree 02:47, 28 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

@JarrahTree: Thanks for the feedback and complements. I only tackle subjects that are either not well known now, or are slipping from public consciousness. I also like to form linkages between existing topics and the ones I am writing about. That's probably why my efforts occur in 'spurts', as I develop some new subject interest, or I get tired of 'Wikipeding' and do something else for a while. SS Canastota was my first article. A relative of mine was one of those lost on that ship and I remember being told about it by my grandmother, when I was quite young. So, eventually, with some time on my hands I researched it and, at the end, had lots of material; then I thought, "What do I do with all this?". The answer was to get involved in Wikipedia. Regarding the Draft / Review process, I do appreciate the breathing space it gives for final tidy-ups and additions, and I suppose that I approve of the concept that the process is moderated in some way. There would be nothing worse, for example than to put up a superfluous article - if there is already something better there already - and I appreciate the help with categories, etc. that some of the reviewing editors provide. I do try to comply with what Wikipedia is about, and I am still learning! TrimmerinWiki (talk) 03:21, 29 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Fitzroy Iron Works, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Fitzroy (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 07:50, 9 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

@DPL bot: Yes, I agree that I should not have made that link. I did not realise that it was a disambiguation page as the list under the heading "As a surname" lists the people in the family that I was referring to in the Fitzroy Iron Works article. I have fixed the issue by linking to an article on one of the members of the family.TrimmerinWiki (talk) 10:21, 9 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

someone to walk you through the GA and FA process - https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Coastal_coal-carrying_trade_of_New_South_Wales is well out of the range of the average punter here, and well above standards of GA - it is FA standard. To not promote such material is criminal negligence imho. if you dont find someone, we need to see to find someone prepared to assist... JarrahTree 12:36, 16 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

oddity - the bogolong article had industrial as a project tag - its a music project... JarrahTree 12:48, 16 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

@JarrahTree: Thank you for your complements. Good to hear that my efforts are worthwhile. I am doing this for personal satisfaction and happy if some others do not recognise anything special in my articles. Not sure what you meant by bogolong being 'musical' as it is about C19th industry. BTW, one thing you might be able to advise me on; I have had a draft on the Tamar Hematite Iron Company in the system for over 6-weeks (it actually pre-dates the Wundowie and Infracombe articles), but it is still sitting there as a draft. Any reason that you can see for that? TrimmerinWiki (talk) 22:35, 28 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Probably not explained very well - when you create articles and put them in main space, there are some editors who allocated projects tags to the talk page - somehow industrial must have looked good - pity it's nothing to do with industry - but actually is a designated music item: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Industrial - dubious, dubious... As for any draft - you are welcome to move to main space - you dont need to sit around for the process, you are an accomplished editor by now, in most cases editors who check your work are probably totally ignorant of your subject and geographical context - go for it! the above is just the form notice--but I want to say personally that you are doign exceptionally good work here. in our most important role: writing high quality articles. As JarrahTree suggested, you ought to check how to submit your work for upgrading to good articles, and then to featured articles.

And as he also suggested, there's no need at all to use Draft--your work is far above the level where it needs reviews at AfC--we need to concentrate there on the people who need help with their articles. . DGG ( talk ) 06:44, 11 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Blackwattle Bay Coal Bunker, Bridge Road Glebe, 1970s SCC Archives A-0034658.jpg

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Blackwattle Bay Coal Bunker, Bridge Road Glebe, 1970s SCC Archives A-0034658.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Have you considered a separate article about the Blackwattle Bay Coal Bunker? You appear to have more experience (and more recent experience) with article creation than I do, but it appears that the image would be much more acceptable if it were in an article where it was clearer that the image's "... presence would significantly increase readers' understanding of the article topic, and its omission would be detrimental to that understanding."  ★  Bigr Tex 01:54, 1 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

@BigrTex:Thanks for your comment. I put all I know about the Blackwattle Bay Coal Bunker into the existing article; there is not much to find unfortunately. I suppose that I could add something to the existing Blackwattle Bay article, but in relation to a topic the photo does fit where it is now, illustrating the (former) coal port facilities of Sydney Harbour. Regarding the sourcing of this photograph, I went to a lot of trouble to get it. I even had permission from the owner of the Reproduction Rights (Sydney City Council) to put it into Wikipedia, with their instructions on how to load it to Wikipedia. But, I thought I would do the right thing and use the non-free licence tag, because there was some doubt about the context in which the photograph was originally taken and the photographer was a known person. I was being conservative. Now I know the trouble unleashed by using the non-free tag, I won't ever go down that path again. However, I must point out that the criterion that is suggested as the reason for a deletion is a subjective one. Why not just leave it to the reader to see if the photograph assists their understanding of the topic? It seems to meet the other non-free criteria, and nobody so far has said that it does not. There are no 'free' images - hardly any images at all in fact - of this facility, as a going concern, that I have found; if there was one I would have used it.TrimmerinWiki (talk) 23:18, 1 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

I've struggled for a few days with how to respond, because it feels like you know the answer. It starts with the third of the Five pillars, that we are working to build a free encyclopedia. It then extends to Resolution:Licensing policy, a decision from 2007 limiting us to only hosting free content, and our Exemption Doctrine Policy (Non-free content criteria) about the limited conditions under which we are willing to host non-free content. As one of the top 3 websites in the world, we are a target for lawsuits if we don't have the appropriate licenses on our content which another website might not need to worry about.
I appreciate the effort that you went to in order to attempt to obtain a release for this image, but it is not clear to many people how it "significantly increase readers' understanding of the article topic", Coastal coal-carrying trade of New South Wales. That is subjective, but that is why we discuss it at Files for discussion, in order to discuss and find consensus. The only solution I have would be that it would be pretty obvious how it would increase reader's understanding of Blackwattle Bay Coal Bunker if there were such an article.
Again, I appreciate the effort that you put into articles and images. Thank you for your service. I hope you'll keep it up. Let me know if I can be of assistance with images, anytime.  ★  Bigr Tex 02:12, 14 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

@BigrTex: Thanks for your response. I take your point and I will have a go at putting together an article on the specific subject. Once again, thanks for your time and thoughts on this subject. TrimmerinWiki (talk) 08:16, 14 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

@BigrTex: Well it looks like the file has now been deleted. So, that is that. I have learnt that attempting to use the 'non-free' licence is so fraught with difficulty that I personally will never go down that path again. As luck would have it I found a free image of a nearby wharf and bunker (Howard Smith) at Blackwattle Bay, albeit not the same wharf and bunker that was shown in the file in question (Jones Brothers). So, the article ends up with a picture of Blackwattle Bay after all.--TrimmerinWiki (talk) 21:17, 23 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

I would guess they copied one of your submissions, this one as the time is identical, they then later submitted others at the same time but different user like this. Why they did this is anyone's guess, but hopefully they have moved on from using your name, even if they haven't stopped trying to get there article approved.   Hi TrimmerinWiki! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Moruya, New South Wales that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Dawnseeker2000 13:00, 25 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Dawnseeker2000: Thank you for your message. I will be more observant of the 'Minor edit' definition in future. My mistake, as upon reflection I can see why the definition is as it is. Once again, thanks for pointing this out.

You removed a redirect after asking me to to move the article, creating considerable confusion.--Grahame (talk) 00:47, 11 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Grahamec:Hi, sorry if I did something wrong. What I did was to remove a link to 'John McKenzie (colonial settler') from the page John Mckenzie (disambiguation) and add a link to 'John Mackenzie (colonial settler)'from 'John Mackenzie (disambiguation)'. Is that the cause of your issue? I did this after you moved the page, because I thought that the disambiguation should follow the new article title. Once again my apologies for any trouble caused if it is due to my misunderstanding on how the redirects are implemented.TrimmerinWiki (talk) 06:31, 11 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

The change to the link at John Mackenzie (disambiguation) was OK. The problem was that when I moved John McKenzie (colonial settler) to John Mackenzie (colonial settler) this created a redirect at John McKenzie (colonial settler), which you subsequently undid and then edited it, so there were then 2 similar articles with similar names.--Grahame (talk) 07:49, 11 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Eastmain: Thanks for your comment. I have added "Old Tuggerannong Road" to the address. Adding a property name and street number does not make much sense as the station is of course on railway land and not the nearest private property. Hope this makes it clearer where the old station was/is. It is basically where Old Tuggeranong Road (no longer open as a public road) crosses the old railway line. Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Proposed site for the federal capital of Australia

edit

A tag has been placed on Category:Proposed site for the federal capital of Australia indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. Liz Read! you upgraded bridges from three to four, if you manage four you can go higher, do you have a noted list of bridges so far ? Dave Rave (talk) 04:05, 25 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Dave Rave: I am only counting large bridges that I know about on the line between Michelago station and the far side of Bredbo River. I added an extra one for the bridge across Michelago Creek, when I found that it was south of the station at Michelago. So, the four are, north-to-south: Michelago Creek, Ingalara Creek, Colyers Creek, and Bredbo River. TrimmerinWiki (talk) 07:51, 25 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
the ref to large would be to the significantly large, the ones that match the four in the New England. I agree that Michelago and Colyers are large enough, but they're plain trestles, you're missing the really obvious large bridge at Numeralla, and there's another trestle at Cooma Creek. And the rest on the continuation section after that ... Dave Rave (talk) 23:50, 25 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Dave Rave: Hi Dave, yes I am missing those other bridges (Numeralla and Cooma Creek), but that is intentional. The article is about Colinton, and the civil engineering works mentioned are only those that would have been relevant to the large construction camp that was located there. The other bridges would not have been relevant to Colinton. that's why I did what I have done.TrimmerinWiki (talk) 01:29, 26 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2021 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:54, 23 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

dead citations

edit

you don't remove stuff, you mark it dead or you find another or better still, an archive link Dave Rave (talk) 02:51, 8 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Dave Rave:Fair enough advice, Dave. I should have replaced the citations (ones that I put there myself BTW) with something current or archived. Thanks for providing the archive link to the hockey club. That is a good start.TrimmerinWiki (talk) 20:27, 8 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

one of the others has a current searchable, cricket i think, and one other an historic, they're not really critical for the story, but if there's a link there's a possibility it may be found later, if the link is gone I won't know to look for it. Dave Rave (talk) 20:53, 8 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

worth knowing

edit

your editing and contributions to australian content are in fact the most thorough and comprehensive set of edits by any editor in the last ten years according to me - so why you subject yourself to uninformed and limited perception processes? feel free to vent on or off wiki anytime - thats part of being in this damned colander/seive

as for a vast number of editors, they have no idea what they are looking at, its always good to have one that might have a clue... JarrahTree 06:29, 24 February 2022 (UTC) @JarrahTree: Thank you for the encouragement. I enjoy editing as a bit of an escape from Real life; some of this stuff can become really involved. I like the idea of uncovering and learning something new, and doing something with that new information. Of course, after a while, it can become a bit of a hard slog, in which case, there is always plenty waiting to be be done back in real life.TrimmerinWiki (talk) 09:24, 2 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

hmm - real life has its problems, trust the 1,000 year event waterline is nowhere near your point of perspective upon it. I could rabbit on about here and real life endlessly, better leave as is... JarrahTree 09:29, 2 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

@JarrahTree: Well, it has happened again, see section below. Some person that has created an article, amongst others. on the Bombay Football Club has rejected my draft on Torbane (see section below). At least I would hope that if rejection comes, it be rejected by somebody from the relevant Wikipedia Project. And, the reasons given for rejection are not valid at all, but surprisingly similar to an earlier rejection of someone else's article last November. I know that you have warned me, but this draft has been on the boil for quite a long time, and so it started well before I had learned my lesson, about drafts and random reviews. I also had a change that I made to Commonwealth Oil Corporation (removing the redirect) reverted, with the history on the article's talk page. (I have not given up on that one). Sure is frustrating.TrimmerinWiki (talk) 21:34, 13 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
