Deadmeat

I've restored the article minus the plot section, which I've rev/del'd. I'm not sure what happened to the first url I posted but I did find 3 sources of copyvio. I note that you say that you wrote this yourself after seeing the movie, but [6] is the source for "With rolling news about an American serial killer on the loose" which I found in the article, so you were obviously not writing that without having read other plot summaries. I've spent far too much time on copyvio violations in the last 24 hours, and although the other two were some time ago, this one was not. You also used "Clarkie (writer-director-producer-star ‘Q’) has just been released from prison and is staying with his brother, Barry. When Barry is found in his flat, having seemingly hanged himself, the death is pinned on “The Cyber Vigilante”, a killer who is tracking down suspected paedophiles" from[7]. This is clearly copyvio, not your own words. I'd planned to use the time I've just used now on doing something for myself and am not pleased to be told you wrote it yourself. Dougweller (talk) 19:10, 7 February 2013 (UTC)

OK well I am sorry if you feel I have made you waste your time here. I did spend a lot of time and effort concisely writing the plot summary and it is a little difficult to remember the exact contributions on an article when it no longer exists. I do accept that it does appear that I did use some of the material from the references for the plot summary without paraphrasing it completely. Although I did not realise that using 3 sentences of 50 words within a 5,130 character plot summary of a film would be copyvio, however if this is the case then I will probably avoid these from now on. Thank you for letting me know and I will try to be more careful with my edits in future.
I no longer have the information from the plot summary, if you would like to send it to me someway I would be happy to re-write the copyvio parts and submit it onto the article. Tanbircdq (talk) 23:20, 7 February 2013 (UTC).
Ok, I'll try to remember to put it in my userspace tomorrow, off to bed now. Dougweller (talk) 22:03, 8 February 2013 (UTC)
Put it on the article's talk page. I'm not sure I've removed all the copyvio, I think there may have been more but I don't want to spend more time on this. Dougweller (talk) 19:13, 10 February 2013 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Stuart.Jamieson. I noticed that you made an edit to a biography of a living person, Isla Fisher, but that you didn’t support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. Wikipedia has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Edits to Hashim ibn 'Abd Manaf

Hello, I made an edit to the page Hashim ibn 'Abd Manaf, adding that Muhammad's great-grandfather's father is only believed by Muslims to be descended "from Isma'il and thus Ibrahim." This line of descent isn't corroborated by historical evidence and is only part of Muslim tradition. The changes I made reflected this, and I added the "believed" part instead of the existing sentence, which says he was definitely descended from Isma'il and Ibrahim. Please un-revert my changes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.30.96.202 (talk) 08:08, 27 March 2013 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:SM2008 HOME S.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:SM2008 HOME S.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 14:52, 1 April 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of SingleMuslim.com

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on SingleMuslim.com requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. ♦ Tentinator ♦ 15:02, 1 April 2013 (UTC)

White Teeth (TV serial)

I have nominated this article as part of DYK. I wonder if you can create ALT hooks for me. See others at T:TDYK. As for the soundtrack image File:White Teeth (soundtrack).jpg, the image is unnecessary, as the soundtrack artwork is not itself mentioned in the article. I wonder if you object to having it deleted. --George Ho (talk) 07:17, 1 May 2013 (UTC)

Hi George, this is an unexpected surprise. I have not done one of these before, nevertheless I have tried to suggest something trivial but interesting from this source.
Regarding the soundtrack image, I am aware of the WP:NFCC issues, and the three RfCs it took before the supposed consensus was reached on the issue. I am still unclear as to the reason behind this personally, and I have seen many articles where the non-free artwork still remains and I do not see the harm in keeping them. I think it enriches the article by serving as a significant and primary means of visually identifying and illustrating the albums, and I would prefer it to remain. However it is your call. Speedy deletion nomination of Hamza Yusuf (disambiguation)

A tag has been placed on Hamza Yusuf (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an orphaned disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates two or fewer extant Wikipedia pages and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic); or
  • disambiguates no (zero) extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

Muhammad Al-Yaqoubi

Hi there,

Thank you for your message to me regarding my edits on the Muhammad Al-Yaqoubi page. With all due respect I diasagree and disapprove you re-editing my work based on your assumptions that I violated Wiki guidelines. My edits were not promotional, did not contain original research, were neutral and supported by verifiable reliable sources. My references are testimony to this. Kind regards. You can leave me a message.

Hi there,

Sincere apologies for my delayed response. Many thanks for your message. I have looked into the points that you made and now agree that my work needs to be closer to wiki guidelines. I am going to add some more content which was my original intention regarding an update on the subjects political and humanitarian work. Hope we can work together to make this page more accurate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Qk69 (talkcontribs) 19:10, 3 June 2013 (UTC)

As an example I would like to reference the opening statement about him being one of the first clerics to speak out. (www.carnegie-mec.org/publications/?fa=51284) I assume this is okay?

I will add a new section entitled "Involvement in the Syrian Revolution". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Qk69 (talkcontribs) 19:23, 3 June 2013 (UTC)

Hello, thank you for your response and in taking the feedback on board. The majority of your contributions were fine, they just required some tweaking. Also the new references you have added are very good. I am glad that our initial misunderstanding has been cleared up as I thought we had got off on the wrong foot. Yes I hope we can collaborate too and improve the article.
I would suggest that you don't need to put a reference in the lead as this information is already mention and elaborated later in the article with a valid reference.
A tip I find handy is to take out all adjectives or superlatives and anything that is opinion (unless you are quoting directly from someone of course). Also bear in mind whether the information would be relevant or useful to a general reader of whether it is "waffle." I hope that gives you a few pointers, take care. Prod removal

I noted that you removed the proposed deletion on Qusai ibn Kilab but did not address the reason expressed in the proposed deletion. The article still begins with the statement "Qusai ibn Kilab ibn Murrah (Qusayy or Kusayy) (Arabic: قصي بن كلاب بن مُرة‎; ca. 400 – 480) was the great-grandfather of Shaiba ibn Hashim (Abdul-Mutallib), thus the great-great-great-grandfather of the Islamic prophet Muhammad" and states a relationship to Abraham as a fact. How can you justify claiming that POV has been removed when the article is still presenting Islamic religious traditions as factual?—Kww(talk) 20:48, 1 July 2013 (UTC)

Hi, I have added according to Islamic tradition regarding the ancestry to Abraham, which you could have edited yourself without the need of proposed deletion of the article, take care. Tanbircdq (talk) 21:06, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
Oh looks I was beaten to it as somebody has already done it. Tanbircdq (talk) 21:08, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
He fixed one sentence in an entire article that presents religious traditions as factual. Regardless, it doesn't answer the question of why you removed the prod without addressing the reasons behind the prod.—Kww(talk) 21:18, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
OK well I removed the religious sources, which were being treated as factual. I have added references to the article from a book by medieval writer Ibn Hisham and books by modern scholars Martin Lings and Karen Armstrong. If there is problems with the article this can be addressed through normal editing not deletion. Tanbircdq (talk) 21:26, 1 July 2013 (UTC)

Muslim Voices

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Muslim Voices, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://yilmazalimoglu.com/2011/04/03/muslim-voices-and-visions-islam-and-muslims-from-a-global-perspective/.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. Speedy deletion nomination of Muslim Voices

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Muslim Voices, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
  • It appears to be a clear copyright infringement. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. However, even if you use one of these processes to release copyrighted material to Wikipedia, it still needs to comply with the other policies and guidelines to be eligible for inclusion. If you would like any assistance with this, you can ask a question at the help desk.

  • It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

I want to add that I think you've been doing excellent work in general--you're quite selective in whom you right about, and the articles are sound and and reasonably sourced. Please don't take one or two deletion nominations as implying otherwise. DGG ( talk ) 08:24, 1 August 2013 (UTC)
No worries, it is all part and parcel of Wikipedia. I often write about obscure subjects, I like to ensure an article is complete and written within guidelines although on some occasions I may err with being bold. Thanks for the feedback, take care. Tanbircdq (talk) 17:20, 1 August 2013 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of IQRA Promotions

The article IQRA Promotions has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence this meets GNG

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Orphaned non-free media (File:IQRA Promotions.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:IQRA Promotions.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Werieth (talk) 20:43, 11 September 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation link fixing one-day contest

I have decided to put on a mini-contest within the November 2013 monthly disambiguation contest, on Saturday, November 23 (UTC). I will personally give a $20 Amazon.com gift card to the disambiguator who fixes the most links on that server-day (see the project page for details on scoring points). Since we are not geared up to do an automated count for that day, at 00:00, 23 November 2013 (UTC) (which is 7:00 PM on November 22, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the project page leaderboard. I will presume that anyone who is not already listed on the leaderboard has precisely nine edits. At 01:00, 24 November 2013 (UTC) (8:00 PM on November 23, EST), I'll take a screenshot of the leaderboard at that time (the extra hour is to give the board time to update), and I will determine from that who our winner is. I will credit links fixed by turning a WP:DABCONCEPT page into an article, but you'll have to let me know me that you did so. Here's to a fun contest. Note that according to the Daily Disambig, we currently have under 256,000 disambiguation links to be fixed. If everyone in the disambiguation link fixers category were to fix 500 links, we would have them all done - so aim high! Cheers! bd2412 T 02:02, 18 November 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Ethnic Now

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ethnic Now requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. reddogsix (talk) 00:21, 1 December 2013 (UTC)

Aamer Rahman

The content you restored included a paragraph added with a source that was a fake newspaper page. Scribd allows people to upload documents, so is not usually a reliable source. Peter James (talk) 16:56, 1 December 2013 (UTC) Peter James (talk) 16:56, 1 December 2013 (UTC)

Hi, although I thought the content was a little odd but I did not realise that the source could be fake, thanks for letting me know, take care. Tanbircdq (talk) 20:00, 1 December 2013 (UTC)
