DYK for 3 CD Collector's Set (Rihanna album)
editOn 1 June 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article 3 CD Collector's Set (Rihanna album), which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that according to Rap-Up magazine, the double-sided poster included in Rihanna's 2009 box set 3 CD Collector's Set is worth the price of the album alone? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/3 CD Collector's Set (Rihanna album). You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

"Sparks Fly" - Continued
editHey I am looking to expand the live performance section, any suggestions where to look? Swifty*talk 00:18, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- I'll look in a few. Currently finishing up a lead before dominating for DYK and GA. Sorry for archiving your thread, but new month. ;) Happy June! — Statυs (talk) 00:19, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
LOL! It's okay bud. Oh what's wrong with the lead. By the way, need a proof read on what I wrote recently in the Live performance section. I wrote: "In his review of the live ablum, Matt Bjorke of Roughstock considered the performance one of five "standout live performances"" Need that re-written. Happy June to you too. LOL! Swifty*talk 00:27, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- In his review of Speak Now World Tour Live, Matt Bjorke of Roughstock cited Swift's perforation of "Sparks Fly" a standout during the concert. — Statυs (talk) 00:29, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks Zach! Doing some work on the lead. I noticed that it is missing the release as a single. Where did that go? Swifty*talk 00:31, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Should the music video and the live performance section be put together? Like "Fearless"? Swifty*talk 22:09, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry, I missed your comments. Someone probably removed it. And yeah, it's just a live music video. — Statυs (talk) 22:57, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- It's okay bud. I been working on "Sparks Fly" a bit and already went ahead and compressed the music video section with the live performance. Noticed you been working on it some need to figure something out. Wouldn't Music and lyrics be better as just composition? LOL! Swifty*talk 23:25, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Well, it could work. Composition usually just refers to the music, but I guess per its definition: "the plan, placement or arrangement of the elements of art in a work". — Statυs (talk) 23:27, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- We are working on it together bud so it's whatever you think is best. Swifty*talk 23:29, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Well, it doesn't really matter to me. I just prefer to have "music and lyrics". If you want "composition", I'm fine with that. :) — Statυs (talk) 23:30, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Why don't we just wait for a GA review and see what they say they may prefer "music and lyrics" over "composition" so I say wait until then. Moving on what else needs to be done on "Sparks Fly"? Swifty*talk 23:33, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

It is so weird that "Sparks Fly" did not chart anywhere else but in the US and Canada. Swifty*talk 23:44, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Hey I am going to look on Google Book and see if I can find a review from Billboard for the song. Swifty*talk 00:14, 2 June 2012 (UTC)
- Did you check the peer review there was stuff in there too. Swifty*talk 00:28, 2 June 2012 (UTC)
- By the way when you can check my last edit here and make sure that looks right. It isn't an exact quote from the Google book but it is what the reviewer meant. Swifty*talk 00:36, 2 June 2012 (UTC)

No Me Ames
editI believe I have everything covered and had the lead summarized. Is there anything else needed before moving the sandbox to the main article? Erick (talk) 15:44, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- I actually already pasted it into the article. Moving is always a pain in the ass. I also nominated it for DYK; I was going to let you know when I did it, but I had to get to bed since it was pretty late. I said we did a really great job. :) — Statυs (talk) 20:41, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- No fair, I was gonna do a DYK! D= Oh well. XD Erick (talk) 20:42, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Haha, sorry. I did another DYK last night, and I thought, "hey, why not?" Do you think it's ready for GA? You can put that in. ;) — Statυs (talk) 20:43, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- 'Tis okay LOL I'll just add an alt. I say we should get the article request for a copy-edit and then co-nominate the article together. As soon as it's nominated, I'm going to also nominated Desde un Principio: From the Beginning, since it has the song. :P Erick (talk) 20:46, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Sounds good to me. Yeah, I wasn't too sure on what could be the DYK, so if you have something better, by all means. Yeah, I also have a few articles lined up for nomination, so I plan on also nominating a bunch on the same day. 7 more days of school left until summer, and then 4 days of final exams and I can finally get some real shit done! I've started so many things and haven't finished it's crazy. — Statυs (talk) 20:49, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Oh man, wow. I was gonna say in the alt that their cover of "No Me Ames" inspired Baldi to come out of retirement, but then I thought "Nah, what Status has is good enough". Just a heads up, I will going on a cruise next Saturday (June 9) so I won't here for about a week. Erick (talk) 20:52, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Ooh, sounds like fun. Hope you have a great time! I probably won't be around for a week or so around then too. Gotta study, study, study! I was thinking of something with them sending both versions to radio in order to get a hit on both, but there isn't really a source to say they two versions for that reason. — Statυs (talk) 20:55, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- I actually found a source on Billboard magazine which mentions that. It says about an audience mark combining both genre charts to reach number-one. On an unrelated note, I've been adding Latin singles charts (Mexican and Venezuelan to be exact) on English songs today. On the Floor, I added that it topped the English charts in Mexico and if you have any questions, I'll be glad to answer them. Erick (talk) 21:00, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- I think that would be a much better DYK, don't you? It's not if many people even heard of "No Me Ames", let alone its original version. LOL, I honestly, do not know much about the charts at all. I try to stay away from that part of song articles. — Statυs (talk) 21:02, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

Here it talks about audience impressions on both charts. Thanks for the quick fix on Desde un Principio btw. Cheers, Erick (talk) 21:31, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Perfect. I'm not really sure how to word; why don't you give it a try? No problemo. Also, why is the album cover on commons? I was under the impression that's a no no. I saw the cover wasn't in very good quality, so I went to upload a new version and noticed that. — Statυs (talk) 21:35, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- If an album cover contains nothing but a simple graphic (like a typographic font and that's it), it cannot be copyrighted so that's why it's on Commons. I'll give it a shot, though I don't know how to word it either. I wasn't even sure of at first if it was needed. Erick (talk) 21:43, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Oh, alright. Thanks for clearing that up. For some reason, I never saw this message until now. — Statυs (talk) 00:15, 2 June 2012 (UTC)

Re: The Silence
editEamonn Holmes: One of the new tracks is The Silence, and that's gunna be the single for christmas? Alexandra Burke: It's a promotional single for the album. (1:30 minutes in). Satisfied that you are wrong now and that I am correct and have always been correct that Alexandra herself stated that is a promotional single. Aaron • You Da One 21:19, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- I saw that; she stated it to be a promotional single in August of 2010. The source you are providing for its release date is from part of the album. Things could have easily changed since then. Besides the fact, we don't always take what artists say as the whole truth, it has to be backed up. For example, Christina Aguilera and her label called Bionic her fourth album, when it is indeed her sixth. — Statυs (talk) 21:22, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- That interview was in December 2010, the time she released it for promotional purpose. It's not got it's own bit on iTunes, but either way, she said it's a promo single. She performed as part of promo for the re-release of the album. Alexandra knows what she is talking about. It is her song after all. Aaron • You Da One 21:27, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- I don't quite understand what "8.12.10" means then. Regardless, at the very least, remove the "source" you have for its release date, because its false. It can still be called a promotional single, but as I said, the "source" you have does not back up the claim that it was a promotional single. That was my main point. You should really watch your attitude with me; there is no reason to be rude to me. — Statυs (talk) 21:30, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- 8 December 2010, the English way of doing dates. The sources for release dates are from Amazon on the The Silence, so no I won't remove them, as you could buy it. I'm not being rude, I'm just frustrated. I knew I was right, and you kept ignoring me and reverting me. Aaron • You Da One 21:35, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Oops, forgot about that. I'm sorry to tell you, but you are not correct. The song was released as part of an album, singles are released apart from a parent album. — Statυs (talk) 21:37, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- It's still a promotional single, she confirmed it. You can only buy the re-recorded version which she sang and is on the video from the re-release. Aaron • You Da One 21:39, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Please go read through the above text. I agreed that it could be deemed as a promotional single. But it was not released on December 3, 2010 as one; that's when it was released as part of the album. An example of something sort of like this would be "Fresh Out the Oven"; it's a promo single, called as one by multiple sources, but it has no release date. — Statυs (talk) 21:41, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Okay, but that's not it charted on digital sales. Aaron • You Da One 21:47, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

If I can add two cents to this conversation... The citation that you are using is a download page for the track on the deluxe edition of Overcome. Did you notice that the single's "release date" and the album's release date are the same? | helpdןǝɥ | 21:51, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Your two cents are too late. Aaron • You Da One 21:55, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Your state of mind is late as well. | helpdןǝɥ | 21:58, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- You're opinion on anything I do on here is not needed just so you know, and hasn't been for a long time. Little note for you, a lot of people on here really dislike you because of your attitude. Aaron • You Da One 22:02, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Funny how all in the same comment, you said you don't care about my opinion yet adding yours as if it is more valuable than mine. I was commenting on the fact of how long it took you to realize Status' message in the discussion. I'd prefer if there were no more personal attacks, please. | helpdןǝɥ | 22:06, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) Miles, Calvin; no need for the little petty comments. But Calvin, seriously? Miles is allowed to leave a comment if he ever so wishes to. And what relevance does "a lot of people on here really dislike you because of your attitude" have here? If you weren't being rude before, you sure as hell are now. — Statυs (talk) 22:07, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) No personal attacks, I'm just being honest. I think you will find that I haven't been vindictive or malicious, or called you anything. Miles, his name I did not know before, has always taken a rude stance with regard to things I do and does not assume good faith. As the saying goes, if you can't take it, then don't dish it. Aaron • You Da One 22:10, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Your version of "honesty" is still considered an attack. You don't have to use a petty name to be mean. I can promise you that very few people view my stance as "rude". And your comment, "if you can't take it, then don't dish it," very provocative, yes? | helpdןǝɥ | 22:16, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Calvin, what you said is considered to be a personal attack, as you are basically telling Miles that people on Wikipedia do not like him, which has zero relevance to this discussion. Let's just stop this right here; if you guys want to carry this on, take it elsewhere. — Statυs (talk) 22:21, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- Then countless people have personally attacked me if telling someone they are disliked is considered as such. Some people may not think you have a rude stance, but several do, and whether you realise it or not, I find you very rude in your stance. This is my last comment, as this is Status' talk page. I suggest you leave it now too, Miles. Aaron • You Da One 22:25, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

Hey can you give your input on this?
editTalk:Blue (Bill Mack song)#Requested move Swifty*talk 11:30, 2 June 2012 (UTC)

- :-p What am I chopped liver? LOL! Swifty*talk 23:31, 2 June 2012 (UTC)
- Hey; sorry bud. I've been working on a lot of things. I'm sorry, but I have to agree with how the page is now. The original was released as a single, and even won a Grammy award. LeAnn obviously made the song famous, but that doesn't change the fact that it was a single by him first. — Statυs (talk) 23:35, 2 June 2012 (UTC)

RE: When you have time
editSure, and there's other articles I can help out too. SoapJar21 asked me about working on Como Ama una Mujer so that's another possibility. There's also the soundtrack for El Cantante. Heck, I'm willing to work on other crossover articles too. Like if you know someone who likes Christina Aguilera and needs help on, oh say, Mi Reflejo, I'll help on that too. Erick (talk) 23:02, 2 June 2012 (UTC)
- Haha, yeah. I've actually also started working on Como Ama una Mujer as well. Trying to hunt down some background information on it. I found a report a year prior to its release announcing its title and how with it she wants to prove she has a "voice". I wonder why it took so long to release. — Statυs (talk) 23:06, 2 June 2012 (UTC)
- When you assess for the Latin music task force, add the parameter "music-importance" and assess the importance for it as well. Erick (talk) 23:42, 3 June 2012 (UTC)
I've requested No Me Ames to be copy-edited by the Guild. Erick (talk) 22:03, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
- Sounds good. I'm still on the look out for some concrete info on her music career beginnings (when she got signed, etc.) to also add to the background. Statυs (talk) 22:18, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
Hey if you got a source for airdates in Canada for this that'd be great bud. Swifty*talk 23:33, 2 June 2012 (UTC)

- I've actually only ever reviewed one album, and nothing before in Spanish, so I'm sorry to say I wouldn't feel comfortable in reviewing either of those articles. — Statυs (talk) 08:33, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

DYK for No Me Ames
editOn 6 June 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article No Me Ames, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that "No Me Ames", a duet by American recording artists Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, is a cover of the Italian hit "Non Amarmi", recorded by Aleandro Baldi and Francesca Alotta? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/No Me Ames. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

editYour comments there seem rather insightful. Let me know if this problem persists. Toddst1 (talk) 19:02, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
- Things like this have been going on for a while. Said user always seems to harass other users over their editing, citing how much GAs he has; making him always right. Even over petty little things, as I said on the talk page of Z33k. I've been meaning to bring something up about it, but I didn't really want to start any trouble, as we are, I guess, intertwined in the sort of editing we take part in. See this section of my talk for an example of his poor attitude. I'm glad that an admin has finally taken notice of this. If you need to know anything, let me know. editGot it bud. I'll take a look at the three of Swift's of course and see what I can do. Swifty*talk 07:10, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
- Haha, as you can see, I have a lot to do. I retract what I said before, I'm not gonna nominate all at the same time. I've separated them into similar categories. Right now I've been focused on working on J.Lo's Love?. I finished two song articles tonight, and am now working on copyediting/expanding another. The Taylor articles really don't need much, "Ours" needs some major expansion though. Statυs (talk) 07:14, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah I know. "Eyes Open" is going to be poor as Swift is not doing a lot to promote that song. She even got lazy on the music video. Swifty*talk 08:09, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
- The lyric video is the music video for "Eyes Open" check Taylor Swift.com it's posted as the music video and the video's description even says it is the music video. Swifty*talk 09:04, 10 June 2012 (UTC)

Bionic song articles
editHello, I would like to say thank you for congratulate me, I worked a lot on the articles and I appreciated that you liked it. Well, I would like your help on the articles. Well, first I would love to add a 30 seconds sample of the songs on the article, but I don't know how to put it. And I would looooooooooooooooooove to get them to GA, it would be awesome. FanofPopMusic (talk) 21:47, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
- My final exams are coming up this week, but next week I can upload all 12 samples for you if you'd like. The articles are in pretty good shape as is, just needs some expansion here and there (mostly with background) and some copyediting. Statυs (talk) 22:01, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
- Can't you tell me how to upload the samples?? Because I just don't know how to put it, but I can learn.... FanofPopMusic (talk) 22:33, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
- Well, I assume you have the album, right? Download Audacity, import the song into it, and make a less than 30 second sample of each song (preferably the chorus). Then save it as an .ogg file, and upload it Statυs (talk) 22:36, 10 June 2012 (UTC)

editSingles in Albums?

Nah. I'm pretty sure that maybe she'll tour again. But, where do you live? in Canada? —Hahc21 03:09, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
- I really doubt it. But if this one goes well, maybe. I see her eventually doing a Las Vegas show or something. Yes, I do. And a very small province, unfortunately. Although, oddly enough, we have been getting more people coming here recently. Elton John was actually five minutes away from my house last September. Statυs (talk) 03:13, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
- o.0. I love Canada :$. Well, she toured 2 times in the past. It is the second time she comes here to my country. Maybe she adds new dates if the tour is successful. —Hahc21 03:17, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
- It's great, but nobody barely comes here. On every tour it's only Toronto or Montreal. Ironically enough, my family was supposed to go on a vacation to Toronto this summer, but ran into problems. I don't know about that. I personally believe that will still be on Idol, just not during the auditions. They will have guest judges for that, and she will join for the live shows. Statυs (talk) 03:19, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
- Well, that's right. It not convenient for her to abandon Idol, since the program gives her $20m a year and media exposure. Even though you have (on a general scope) more chances to see her than I do. I always thought that i needed to travel outside my country to see her on concert. It's very remarkable that she comes here, since politics and the high level of risk are makign artists to avoid my country, such as Madonna and Lady Gaga. —Hahc21 03:29, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
- Well, I think it most certainly would have something to do with her heritage. Consider yourself lucky you get anyone at all. Nobody even takes a glance over at where I live. I was shocked when Taylor Swift came to my province, especially when Elton came to my city. BTW, if you happen to find any additional sources to add to the tour article, please post them here. Reviews are usually hard to find once a tour is over, so it's best to collect them while you can. xD Statυs (talk) 03:36, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
- Maybe, she's latin after all XD. Ok. I will post any source I find there :). —Hahc21 03:40, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
- Oh, and well. Yes, looking from that perspective: I live in the most important city of my country, so it's easier for me to go to the concerts; and my country is 10 times smaller than yours, so its easier to travel from city to city. Have you found anything from her concert in Panama? —Hahc21 03:42, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

editDang, I think I owe you three or something. Tell me if you have a GA or something that needs reviewing at some point. :P Toa Nidhiki05 21:42, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
- Haha, it's all good bro. I like reviewing them, and I'm currently involved in the GAN backlog drive. I do have about 8 or so pending nominations to add, but they aren't ready yet. Statυs (talk) 22:18, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
- Glad you like it - reviewing them really helps my WikiCup chances. :P
- Wow, that's a lot. I can't crank out that many at once - I usually have one, maybe two projects at a time counting lists and such. Getting that much material ready is great. Anyway, I've fixed most of the concerns listed aside from one. Toa Nidhiki05 23:20, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
- Haha, well, a lot of it is a long time coming. I just decided to nominate them all at once. I recently, finally, got my ass together and am working to conclusion. Previously, I would work on articles, but never get them done. Here's some of them, if you want a peak. There's also many I haven't even stated yet. I plan to get all of Jennifer Lopez's Love? song and singles nominated soon, then move on to Coldplay's Mylo Xyloto songs and singles. :) Get some good topics. xD Statυs (talk) 23:25, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
- Heh, I've had that problem - I've had sources for an article (Move) sitting around since February and finally got to work and finished it over the last week.
- I might want to help on the Coldplay ones whenever you finish the J-Lo ones... I started to work on "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall" maybe six months ago but gave up after a while. I'm sure it'll be easier to write a solid article on MX and its singles once you finish the J-Lo articles since Coldplay might be done releasing singles from it at that point. Toa Nidhiki05 23:35, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
- That would be great having some help. Someone created the non-singles a while ago, and they are pretty well done, just need some more work. Someone from the Rihanna project is also keeping up on "Princess of China". Statυs (talk) 23:36, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
- Cleaning up references, updating chart positions/sales and adding more reviews could be enough to get it to GA. "Princess of China" might be the easiest to improve - Rihanna project is great at keeping up her articles including features. I'm reviewing a GA nomination for one of them right now, actually. I have no doubt that they'd be willing to help improve it. Toa Nidhiki05 23:44, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah; they really are. I believe it was the same user who is keeping it updated. I have one J.Lo article to finish writing and publish, and then another to write, and two of the singles to expand and I will be ready to nominate them and move on. :) Should probably be in a few weeks, since I have to get my wisdom teeth out in a week or so, so I will be unable to be here for a bit. Statυs (talk) 23:50, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
- That sounds good to me; I don't have any major expansions planned (aside from working on a few artist discographies) and I don't have any major events coming soon, so I'll be willing to start whenever you are. Toa Nidhiki05 23:56, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

DYK for Goin' In
editOn 17 June 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Goin' In, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Jennifer Lopez's song "Goin' In", featuring Flo Rida, is featured on the soundtrack of the dance film Step Up Revolution? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Goin' In. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. Eight Miles High GA review
editHello! I just wanted to ask why the "Eight Miles High" article has failed its GA review, when none of the problems you list are to be found among "quick fail" criteria listed at Wikipedia:Good article criteria. In my experience -- and I have been involved in quite a few GA reviews for music articles -- when a reviewer finds a problem, they usually put the review "on hold" for 7 days (as outlined in the GA review guidelines here). During this time editors can work on fixing those problems. You, however, have decided to fail the article outright and deprive me of an opportunity to respond to your concerns. Can you explain to me why you have acted in this way?
Furthermore, I see that you have not used the proper GA review template found at Template:GAList. Why not? Apart from making the review seem somewhat disorganised or slapdash, it also robs me (or any other interested party) of a chance to get a clear indication of the specific areas in which the article passes or fails the GA review criteria.
As for the specific issues you have raised on the Talk:Eight Miles High/GA1 page, I have responded to them there and I would be very interested in your replies. --Kohoutek1138 (talk) 00:26, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

Jennifer Lopez and Latin music task force
editRemember earlier when we talked earlier about J Lo being in the Latin music task force? Well I created a scope of what's included on the task force earlier and to simply, J Lo herself isn't in it because she performs primarily in pop that's not specific to the Hispanohpone audience (I removed Christina Aguilera for the same reason). But some of her work is included though. Her Spanish-langauge songs and album are a shoe-in because they comply with the inclusion. Another guideline I threw in is that a song can in another language such as English under the condition that a Spanish version was released as a single so that would mean songs like "On the Floor" would be in because it had a Spanish version released as a single ("Ven a Bailar"). I just need to know if you're okay with this. Erick (talk) 21:01, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah, that's fine with me. On the 6 should also be included, as she recorded a full Spanish version of the album. Statυs (talk) 21:28, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- That's true. It does meet with the at least 50% content in Spanish rule. Erick (talk) 21:33, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- Reminds me that I didn't add it to the article. They are on her songs article though. xD Statυs (talk) 21:35, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- Tsk, tsk, shame on you. j/k :P But anyway, serious question but not related to J Lo. What do you think about the guideline for songs that are in English but had a Spanish version released as a single but the singer isn't a Latin music artist. Specifically, I mean Beyonce where had released some of her songs in Spanish as a single like "Si Fuera un Chico" for example? Or like Christina Aguilera's songs "Genio Atrapado" and "Ven Conmigo (Solamente Tu)"? Maybe I should ask WikiProject Beyonce first. Erick (talk) 21:46, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- Reminds me that I didn't add it to the article. They are on her songs article though. xD Statυs (talk) 21:35, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- That's true. It does meet with the at least 50% content in Spanish rule. Erick (talk) 21:33, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- I think that the specific songs that have Spanish language versions should be included. But, I'm not completely sure. I think definitely, if the artist has a Latin American background, like Xtina and J.Lo, it should be covered. Statυs (talk) 21:51, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah, there we go! In the case Aguilera's, those singles can be included because they were meant to promote her Spanish-language album Mi Reflejo and J Lo's reason is already explained. I really like the idea of having the artist to have a Latin background for non-Spanish songs and I will put that in. As for Beyonce there are three articles that are in: Irreemplazable because it's a Spanish EP and ranked on the Latin Albums chart, Beautiful Liar because it has a Spanish version, received a Latin Grammy nomination, and more importantly features Shakira as the featured artist, and Amor Gitano because it was a single promoted for a Alejandro Fernandez album. Wow I can't believe I didn't think of that before! XD Erick (talk) 22:02, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- Haha, yeah! Silly goose! Sounds good to me! Statυs (talk) 22:15, 21 June 2012 (UTC)

I've updated again on the criteria and based on it I am now convinced J Lo is part of it and will include. :) Just looking at her Latin Billboard Music Awards history on the accolades is enough to convince to put her in. BTW, I left some comments regarding on "Ven a Bailar" on the talk page for "On the Floor" that you might want to check out. EDIT: LMAO, didn't see it was already tagged. Erick (talk) 05:22, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
- What do you mean by it was already tagged? Yeah, I'm not sure where to include that information either. The info about it receiving the nominations could be created in an Accolades section. I'm sure there were other awards/nominations for the song as well. As for the translation, I have no idea where that could be put. Statυs (talk) 05:28, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
- For the translation as well as any info about "Ven a Bailar", it would go under composition. Thankfully the article for List of accolades received by Jennifer Lopez has everything on what "On the Floor"/"Ven a Bailar" won or was nominated for. Erick (talk) 05:33, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
- Oh, haha. I didn't really edit that article much, so I didn't know. xD Yes, thankfully. Soap did a good job. Statυs (talk) 05:52, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

Re: Super Bass
editI am the original reviewer, and no one asked you to take over from me. If I didn't want to review it, I wouldn't have chosen it. You should act dignified and simply let me review it. Aaron • You Da One 17:04, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
- Seeing as I already began the review of it (which you did not, even prior to being blocked), you don't have a ground to step on. Statυs (talk) 17:11, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
- That's not an answer. You can't deny that I was the first reviewer. You was banking on me being blocked for 7 days and not being able to do anything about it, but I'm not blocked. So it's you who has no leg to stand on. You jumped on it like a car bonnet and on purpose picked two which I had said I would review. If you notice, I placed a notice on the nominators talk page saying it could take up to 7 days, so once again, you were and are wrong to do so. Aaron • You Da One 17:14, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
- And I also read the notice the user left stating that it needs to be done ASCAP as they have something to do. Clearly, you don't care about the nominator's timetable. You started a review page, and? What exactly is your point? If you did not notice, I have been trying to completely clean the song article nominations for the GA drive. I took over the review at 18:42, while you were blocked at 16:48. How exactly did I jump on your review? I am not Raven; I can't see the future and see you getting yourself out of a block. You need to quit assuming bad faith on my part, when all I've ever done was help you out. I'd like to know why you think I'm "out to get you". Statυs (talk) 17:22, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
- In case you hadn't noticed, and it would be pretty hard not to as my name is at the top of the list, I have also been reviewing articles. The nominator never said anything to me about Super Bass being reviewed before California Gurls, so I can't be blamed for that. I'm not assuming bad faith, you are, as you won't let me review the article that I said I would review first. "Help me out" by letting me review it then. And when have I said that you are out to in this thread? I haven't, so don't fabricate. Aaron • You Da One 17:28, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
- What does you being part of the drive have to do with my contributions to it? I never said the user told you to do "Super Bass" first. I was referring to this comment: "Hey Calvin! Not being pushy, but do you know when you'll start the GA's? It's just I'm kinda busy right now and I was hoping to get them done relatively quick, thank you :)" You are clearly assuming bad faith on my part. I don't know why, but everything I see to do that involves you is "out to get you". You haven't; it's just the general way you act when it comes to me. Statυs (talk) 17:34, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
- What? I was merely saying you aren't the only one who is trying to reduce the backlog. Again, where have I said in this thread "you are out to get me"? I haven't, so why are you making it up? You know what, I can't be bothered with this. You're not assuming good faith by letting me review the article which I said I would review and would complete within 7 days (doesn't mean I would take 7 days). Just review it, with you "new review format", which bares striking resemblance to mine. And if you was also conscious of the nominator wanting them reviewed ASAP, why isn't Super Bass fully reviewed and on hold, or a GA, yet? Don't say about me not having reviewed it as quickly as possible, as you haven't either. I've never had a problem with you, but I had a problem with you reporting me and having me blocked for WP:OWN. You could have easily left me a message on my talk page, or asked to email me in confidence, and say that you had concerns about my editing direct, instead of going down the other option. Aaron • You Da One 17:40, 22 June 2012 (UTC)

- New review format? What the hell are you talking about? I have never once "gotten you blocked"; I have no idea what you are talking about. The user wanted the review done quickly, so they shouldn't have to wait an entire week for the review to begin. Statυs (talk) 18:13, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
- I never said I was going to take 7 days, the notice said it may take up to 7 days. It's pre-coded. I would have had it completely done and on hold by this morning if I hadn't of been through a block. Anyway, there's not point talking further on the matter, as you clearly won't assume good faith with it. You're only concerned about coming first in the backlog drive. Aaron • You Da One 18:27, 22 June 2012 (UTC)

- Response to what I actually responded to. "You're only concerned about coming first in the backlog drive" First of all, I actually have 10+ articles I plan on nominating, which is why I have been reviewing so many song articles - to make mine get through faster, and secondly, my goal for the drive was set at 50 from the very beginning. You just need to stop coming at me with stupid shit. I took over your review, and what? Is it the end of the world? Nope. From what I recall, you have taken projects from other users who had actually already begun work on it. Statυs (talk) 18:34, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
DYK for Me Haces Falta
editOn 23 June 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Me Haces Falta, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that in the music video for her single "Me Haces Falta" (2007), Jennifer Lopez portrays an undercover FBI agent who surrenders her lover to the police and has regrets afterwards? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Me Haces Falta. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. Anyway, we need you here , I need you here, racing with me on GA counts for the drive >.<. —Hahc21 03:39, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
- Haha, thank you. I kind of understand, although there certainly was no consensus to delete it. Most of people's reasons to delete were WP:IDONTLIKEIT. It makes me most upset that all of the information there was just plain out deleted. I expected at least if the article was deleted for an admin to copy the information for the article to me, to merge it back in with her main one; since most of the information was not in her main article. I will still continue doing the reviews, but as of right now, I am just discouraged in editing. Statυs (talk) 03:45, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
- Well, you can still ask an admin to copy the content for you. Admins have, beside the delete button, a restore button with which they can "rollback" a mistaken delete. Maybe you can ask an admin you know to do that for you. I'll see what I can do. —Hahc21 03:48, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah, I know. But still; it isn't good form. If I wasn't so upset about it, I would be desperately doing something about it. Statυs (talk) 03:51, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
- Don't let the deletion get to you, Status!. Maybe try WP:DRV? Also, a tip: when somebody AfD's an article you've created, just in case, copy the text and paste it into a notepad file. That way you can have it stored in your computer, forever. Lol. Till I Go Home talk 08:29, 24 June 2012 (UTC)

Talk:The Other Woman (Mad Men)
editMost of your reviews have been passable. However, Talk:The Other Woman (Mad Men) was not, IMO. There are some pretty obvious issues. The WP:CAPTION is sloppy with only one of the two actors named and no links. The refs need links. Should I take this to WP:GAR?--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 06:52, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
- P.S. I even had to fix up your {{GA}} work by putting in the topic.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 06:53, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
- It appears "Far Away Places (Mad Men)" was just as rushed. Can you fix the talk page and explain your feelings about a GAR.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 06:57, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
- Hey Tony. Both articles seemed perfectly fine to me, but I will take a second look at them and fix any issues that I may come across. Thanks for letting me know. Statυs (talk) 17:25, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
- What does Tony means with "The refs need links."? If it's what i believe, then the claim is wrong, since not all references needs to be online. —Hahc21 17:34, 24 June 2012 (UTC)
- Most of them have their own Wikipedia article, so I linked them. Some were also missing publishers. Statυs (talk) 17:38, 24 June 2012 (UTC)

edithow could you say that "Section hardly makes any reference to the album. It is focused on the tour and TV show" when it features only 3 short sentences about the show, yet there is an entire paragraph relating to the greatest hits album. This is the information that relates to the album:
- In late 2011, it was confirmed that Lopez would be releasing a greatest hits album in 2012, with her vocal producer Kuk Harrell and The-Dream confirming their involvement in the project. L.A. Reid, chairman and CEO for Epic Records, confirmed on his Twitter account that a greatest hits album is in production. In April 2012 Lopez released the lead single from her greatest hits album, "Dance Again" featuring American rapper Pitbull. It charted at 17 on the Billboard Hot 100, and also became her twelfth number one on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs. Lopez is also working on two possible new songs, entitled "Clothes Off" and "Goin' In". Three new songs will appear on Lopez's upcoming greatest hits album. In an interview, Lopez stated that she owes a greatest hits album to Epic Records, however was unsure whether or not the material she was recording would be for a greatest hits album or a new studio album. Lopez will release her first greatest hits album Dance Again: The Hits on July 24, 2012.
I am changing the title again. "Dance Again" relates to the album, because it's the lead single (like On The Floor from Love?)... −SoapJar 07:45, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
Status, just finished addressing your comments in this GAC. Thanks so much. Man, that article languished at GAC for months, so I appreciate it! I also appreciate that you took time out from your Wikibreak to review it. Chin up, remember why you (and all of us) are here, fight the good fight, and keep up the good work! Concerns about an article you passed for GA
editHi,
I'm concerned that the vast amount of quotations in Portrait of Madame Cézanne violates copyrights. I've listed the quotes at Talk:Portrait_of_Madame_Cézanne#concerns_about_copyvio.
I consulted with Moonriddengirl, the copyvio expert, and she recommended this method of dealing with it. What do you think? I suppose I could ask for GAR to get community input if this issue is not addressed on the article talk page.
Regards, MathewTownsend (talk) 23:03, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
- Hello Matthew; thank you for your message. I think it would be best to notify the article's nominator User:TonyTheTiger about such an issue. I think this can simply be addressed if the quotes are removed from the notes. The only reason they were there (from what I could understand) is to show the full quotation where the bit in the article is taken from. Best, Statυs (talk) 23:13, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
- Hi there, I'm in a conversation now about another article of his that I'm reviewing and that I refuse to pass. See Talk:Mermaid (Roy Lichtenstein)/GA1. He doesn't see the problem. I notice that you've reviewed several of his articles that have this problem. Perhaps you could address these issues with him so the copyvio can be removed and the articles fixed. - I actually got "Invading My Mind" under control. You can find some sources for "Hypnotico" though. Most in partially, the original version of the song before J.Lo recorded it. I don't think so. Not much background is usually needed, but I felt the need to include what's there, as we know, she left Epic and then went back to them to release a GH. As for the pictures, just have them or yourself upload them. It's not hard at all. Anyways, it's late and I must go to bed. Talk later! Statυs (talk) 08:00, 27 June 2012 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of When I Grow Up (Pussycat Dolls song)
editThe article When I Grow Up (Pussycat Dolls song) you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within seven days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:When I Grow Up (Pussycat Dolls song) for things which need to be addressed. Jonayo! Dumb question can an advertisement be passed off as a single cover on Wikipedia? If not I am going to need help as I do not want to get in trouble for edit warring cause I keep removing it. Swifty*talk 03:23, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

editThis is a GA Review he's wanting us to get rid of the YouTube sources and as I told him there is no other way to source the information on the two we have. I have fixed the other ones but I figured you could talked to the guy and help him to understand about the leak and all. Swifty*talk 12:28, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

editI did some work on Dance Again... the Hits tell me if it's okay? I didn't know what to do so i just looked at #1s by Mariah Carey for some ideas. It's really late here hehe so forgive me for spelling issues! −SoapJar 12:40, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
- Nice work! I personally have never seen any reason to include such information, but you did a great job! Statυs (talk) 19:06, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
- Okay lol. Also, i just noticed but WHERE TF is her products / endorsements section and why was it moved? :O.... −SoapJar 05:01, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
- I removed it. It needs to be reworked into the main section of the article. Statυs (talk) 07:39, 30 June 2012 (UTC)

editWould you mind reviewing the 4 road articles that you have signed up to review? It's not fair to the other reviewers, or to the nominators, to claim 4 at a time and then wait days to complete them. --Rschen7754 03:40, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
- And now again, you've just claimed another article before you've reviewed the three you already have. --Rschen7754 07:54, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
- I'm getting to my reviews, which you can clearly see. I've been caught up in personal issues for the past few days. Excuse me. Statυs (talk) 07:56, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
- Okay, but you've apparently had the time to make about 80 edits over the past two days. I'm just asking that you consider the other people involved (the nominators, and the other people in the reviewing contest). This sure looks like cutthroat behavior to me. I would suggest that you only review one article at a time. --Rschen7754 08:02, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
