About your redirect requesteditI created the four redirects to Nutritionist for you (two different capitalizations for each one you suggested). You do not need to ask at AfC though or even go through the Article Wizard for that matter. Just type the name in the search box, click the red link that is after "You may create the page", then under the Advanced toolbar click the blue arrow in the "Insert" section. Then type the name of the article you want to redirect to, exactly as it appears in the article's title (copying and pasting). Save the page, and your redirect is created. You can ask me if you have another question; I will be glad to help. PleaseStand (talk) 02:14, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

Help deskeditHi. Just a heads-up re the Help Desk — new helpers are always welcome, but if you're answering questions on policy you do need to be sure of your facts. Your answer in this section was wrong: it effectively directed another user to use sockpuppetry to evade a block for edit warring (a serious breach of the rules), and dismissed the appeal system out of hand, whereas it is the only correct way to challenge a block. The fact that the user was posting on the help desk at all should have been a clue that he was evading his block with a new account, and in fact that one has now been blocked for edit warring too. A suggestion that he create yet another account was not a very good idea: WP:CLEANSTART can work, but only where a user understands what the problem is and knows they cannot come back with more of the same behaviour, which this one clearly doesn't. Thanks, and a small suggestioneditThanks for the help at the Feedback forum. We are understaffed, and more help is quite welcome. I see you realize how to indent responses, but you may not be aware that you can do the same for bulleted lists. It is considered poor form to edit another person's comment on talk pages and discussion forums (with some rare exceptions), so I'm not making the change myself. I'll illustrate with a recent example:

Checking the minor edit box is supposed to signify that the only superficial changes were made to the page during the edit. Looking over your contributions, most of your edits should not be marked as a minor edit. It doesn't really bother me because I basically disregard the "m" and look at the edits anyway, but there are other editors who might have a problem with it. Speedy deletion of Lilly Truscott (Hannah Montana)editJust a quick note to let you know that I removed the speedy deletion template you placed on Lilly Truscott (Hannah Montana) because the article did not seem to meet the speedy deletion criterion A6. A6 is for articles that have been taken to WP:AFD and the consensus there was for deletion. Not only is there no AfD for this article, but it was tagged for this speedy deletion after only one minute. It is quite impossible for an article to go through the AfD process in this much time. So I'm pretty sure you didn't mean to apply this tag to this article! Please be aware that is normally inappropriate re-add a speedy deletion template when another editor (other than the creator of the article) has removed it, because speedy deletion is only for uncontroversial deletions. If you believe the article still needs to be deleted, please consider WP:PROD or WP:AFD which can be used for deletions which are not covered by the speedy deletion criteria. I am not an administrator and I do not have any special authority in this matter. If you feel that I have made a mistake, please feel free to contact me on my talk page. The article Period (school) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ukexpat (talk) 20:45, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

FEED / Talk
editActually, what I'm thinking about FEED is...
If we had a page for every week, and did some clever transclusion of the 'current week', and possibly a bot to note the 'oldest unanswered' too, at the top of the page...then, we wouldn't have to bother with archiving at all. I'm suggesting week based on the data on the talk page.
The great advantage here would be that users could check back on feedback forever, without looking for archives/links - the link to their feedback would be constant. Also, feedback requests unanswered would never vanish into the archive.
I'd really like to make a 'mock-up' of this proposal, as it is hard to explain in simple terms - ie I'd like to mock it up using data from the past month or two, and demonstrate how it looks.
I'd welcome your further thoughts on this - note, I don't really watch for replies, so let me know - but it's probably best discussed on Wikipedia talk:Requests for feedback. Chzz ► 03:00, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
Much to my astonishment, it looks like this story checks out. The RT coverage is probably not enough (on its own) to establish notability, but it does constitute a credible claim of significance under A7.
Of course having un-speedied this I now have the moral responsibility of trying to turn it into a real article :(

Siddharth Kara Article (review)
editDear QwerpQwertus,
Re: User:Martinjonson/Siddharth_Kara
FIrstly, thank you so much for your feedback about my first article on Wikipedia about the author, Siddharth Kara. I do not have very much knowledge about the advanced features, so my article is still very basic in its formatting. So, I was hoping to take you up on your offer for help in polishing the article!
(i) You mentioned that I may need to add reliable sources. I have a list of 10 sources/references, some of which are repeatedly cited 2-3 times in the article, resulting in a source list of 20 entries. However, all the 10 sources are reputable, reliable sources, including the authors bio on Columbia University Press and Harvard University websites. Did you mean that the sources should be even more reliable, or that I should not cite the same source repeatedly?
(ii) You also suggested adding pictures, but have to wait till I am 4 days old before I am an autoconfirmed user and qualified to upload any photos. When that happens, can I upload the copyrighted author/book photo if I ensure that I specify the name of the photographer under the photo? If not, can I upload the pictures if I get the author's permission?
(iii) Finally, you recommended adding an info box, which I think is a wonderful idea, but I was wondering whether you could show me how to insert one?
Thanks so much for all your help! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Martinjonson (talk • contribs) 13:17, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
- (i)I may have gotten it confused with another I was reviewing - the sources look okay.
- (ii)Pictures have to be either copyright free, with the copyrighter's permission, or a bad quality pic of a logo. In most cases, with his written permission, you can upload that in a few days.
- (iii)I see you've gotten the infobox up - good! ~QwerpQwertus ·_Talk_·_Contribs_· The Wiki Puzzle Piece Award
Hi QwerpQuertus
Yes, I found the page Template:Infobox writer/doc, and used that template to create my own infobox. Thanks for suggesting the idea. I also added the categories box below the article. When you have a spare moment, please do have a last look at the article before I put it up in the article space. Thanks again for all your input!

- It looks great! Thanks for writing it! ~QwerpQwertus ·_Talk_·_Contribs_· The Wiki Puzzle Piece Award
Hi again!
I am finally an autoconfirmed used and can therefore upload an author photo. I just wanted to check whether I can upload the author photo on the book jacket cover, which I notice is being used all over the net on various website where the author is giving talks or lectures, or on most sites where he has a bio? If so, what do I state or which tags do I use in the "summary" and which option do I select in the "licensing" menu when I am uploading the photo? Alternatively, I can get the authors permission, but do I still need it if the photo is so widely available?
Thanks so much for your valuable input!
Martinjonson (talk) 00:46, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
Hi QwerpQwertus!
I moved the page to the article space and noticed that it says: "This template should be removed once the page has been reviewed by someone other than its creator; if necessary the page should be appropriately tagged for cleanup. If you are the article's creator, you can seek feedback on your new article."
Its almost been 48 hours and the article has not been tagged for anything. Does that mean its okay? :) Also, is my tag and information provided for the uploaded photo alright or do I need something else?
Thanks so much, as always!
Martinjonson (talk) 12:56, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
- Wow - it looks pretty good! The info under the photo is good, but it generally won't get tagged - you usually have to submit it to Requests For Feedback, but since you already have, I'll just take it off. Happy editing! ~ QwerpQwertus ·_Talk_·_Talkback Me_· 13:54, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of In the Labyrinth
editA tag has been placed on In the Labyrinth requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ~QwerpQwertus ·_Talk_·_Contribs_· The Wiki Puzzle Piece Award

- You don't need to notify yourself; there's a checkbox in Twinkle to turn that off. Were you going to write a disambiguation page though? PleaseStand (talk) 00:35, 6 June 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, I was going to put a disambungation there from AfC - I didn't mean to notify myself. I'll look for that option. Thanks!
- Actually, disambiguation pages are not used for two or less articles--use a hatnote for that. In the case of this page, it should be redirected to the more well-known of the two pages (or whichever you want if they're about the same). —fetch·comms 01:52, 6 June 2010 (UTC)

AIV
editThanks for your report to WP:AIV. For next time, format the request like this:
The following are examples of how to report a vandal on the AIV page:
- Anonymous Users (IP addresses):
- * {{IPvandal|IP address}} brief reason for listing (keep it short) ~~~~
- Registered Users:
- * {{Vandal|username}} optional brief reason for listing (keep it short) ~~~~
- * {{Userlinks|username}} optional brief reason for listing (keep it short) ~~~~
There's a bot running on the page and it needs certain, specific formatting to process the reports properly. No need for adding extra sections, it will confuse the bot. Let me know if you have any questions! Thanks! Dreadstar ☥ 05:28, 6 June 2010 (UTC)

Singature Disruption
editI have removed a section from my talk page here per WP:Talk page guidelines.
"While the purpose of article talk pages is to discuss the content of articles, the purpose of user talk pages is to draw the attention or discuss the edits of a user. Wikipedia is not a social networking site, and all discussion should ultimately be directed solely toward the improvement of the site.
Users may freely remove comments from their own talk pages..."
This has been done because I would prefer to forgive and forget another user's somewhat rude comments: (though they did have some valid concerns)
"I'll put it more strongly for you: if you don't change it back immediately - then I'm going to have to complain to the admins."
Please note that it was not any of the users below though.
- Okay, I've changed it to the default sig. QwerpQwertus (talk) 01:16, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
- If you want to make it a little bit decorative, you can still do that, but within boundaries. For example, I recommend taking out the link to the Wiki Puzzle Piece Award; it takes up a lot of space and is generally irrelevant in your signature. In addition, your signature should always be on the same line as the comment. The signature should not go in the space below or anything out of place like that, such as you did here. That makes it very confusing, and as Steve put it, disruptive of the flow of content. Make it short and sweet and it'll be fine. ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 01:26, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

I was just wondering if you were going to work on Period (school) or whether we should replace it with a wiktionary template? I could do both: move it to your userspace and add the wiktionary template if you would like?
Feel free to leave a reply here, but remind me with the {{talkback}} template on my talk page so that I don't forget! ^_^ Kind regards, Captain n00dle\Talk 13:03, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

latitudelearning.com entry decline
editQwerpQwertus:
You declined my entry of latitudelearning.com because it lacks "notability".
How is it any different than competitor Learning.com or SharePointLMS or ATutor, all of which are listed on Wikipedia?
I would sincerely like to get your help on making this entry relevant and "notable".
Any suggestions appreciated.
PatrickPatrick Markit (talk) 21:32, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
- Welcome to Wikipedia. QwerpQwertus likely declined your submission because you cited only the company web site. Specifically, you need to cite reliable, third-party sources within the text. Third-party sources are necessary to establish notability. PleaseStand (talk) 21:50, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, like PleaseStand mentions, you should add sources and references which will prove its importance\notability (why it should be in an encyclopedia) and to show its reliable. ~QwerpQwertus ·_Talk_·(Talkback Me)· 22:05, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

hmmm... indeed, the direct link works just fine, but it seems that in the search results (the one you get if you try the "containing ..." search) it is still not listed, although it states, that a page with such a name exists?! Best regards from a puzzled newbie ;) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Belikel (talk • contribs) 04:27, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
- Sometimes when you type the exact name of an article in the search box, it will just search and put "there is an article named... on wikipedia" at the top - that's just how it is I think. Maybe try typing the exact name then pressing "enter or return, not the button on the screen (they work differently). Also, you should type ~~~~ after your posts on talk pages, it's in the upper-left on most keyboards, or if you don't have the key, there's a button under the edit window. I don't personally mind, but you're supposed to. Hope that search method works! Thanks! ~QwerpQwertus ·_Talk_·(Talkback Me)· 04:48, 9 June 2010 (UTC)

editGood afternoon. The Cold Spring Granite page that you reviewed last week is up and running, thank you for your assistance and review of the content. You offered to remove the flag existing on the page currently, and I would like to ask you to do that now. Please remove the box at the top of the page at your convenience, and let me know if you require any additional action on my part at this time.
Thank you in advance - Wendyfables (talk) 19:33, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
- You're welcome - if you mean the unreviewed tag, that seems to already be gone, but the category and orphan tags should probably stay for now - nothing links to it and it has no categories. But good job! Thanks! ~ QwerpQwertus ·_Talk_·_Alt Acc_·_Talkback Me_· 21:56, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
Thank you - I went back and added more Wiki links and also edited the Granite Wikipedia page to have "Cold Spring Granite" to the "See also" section, so that I could get another topic to link to it. I also added the "see also" list to the bottom of the Cold Spring Granite page to take people to similar topics. I also added some categories to the bottom, so that visitors can get an idea of similar topics to research. Does this solve the Orphan problem? If not, please let me know what else I can do to get the flag removed on my part.
Again, thank you for your help - I'm getting better at editing and creating and the feedback is appreciated. Wendyfables (talk) 16:09, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
- The category prob is fixed, but still only the former draft and the requests for feedback page currently link to it. (those don't count). Somebody probably removed it as that is about granite itself, rather than suppliers. This is easy to fix though. You may be able to link possibly articles about granite suppliers, buisneses in that area, ect. To see what links there, go to the Cold Stone Granite page and click "What Links Here" in the sidebar. Happy editing! PS:You are free to remove the coding for the tag when the prob is fixed yourself. |:-) ~ QwerpQwertus ·_Talk_·_Talkback Me_· 22:23, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
AfC
editHi, a note. For articles like Alameda County Study, please always check after accepting to clean up any leftover items. Also, don't remove the other template parameters like you did at this page. They are needed for categorization, among other reasons. You may wish to use User:Tim Song/afchelper4.js, which is a handy script for reviewing. —fetch·comms 22:04, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
- Also, please don't decline pending submissions with this rationale, as that rationale is for articles that are on hold only. Please make sure to be more careful when reviewing articles at AfC in the future. —mono 22:11, 9 June 2010 (UTC)

- (To Mono)Actually, someone else put the decline there, but left the pending submission box and assuming they meant to delete the pend box to instead have the decline box, it got rid of the pending box for them. Do people do that on purpose to give them a suggestion or something? ~ QwerpQwertus ·_Talk_·_Alt Acc_·_Talkback Me_· 22:19, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
- Putting a new pending box up means resubmitting for review. Usually the submitter does it (check history). —fetch·comms 22:25, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
- Oh, ok - that was confusing me. ~ QwerpQwertus ·_Talk_·_Alt Acc_·_Talkback Me_· 22:27, 9 June 2010 (UTC)

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Before Fire
editYour review and decision to not accept the entry for the band Before Fire is respected. However, it would be appreciated if you reconsidered. Before Fire, although "unsigned," does more than a lot of signed musical acts. Before Fire tours, sells merchandise, records, has sponsorship and endorsements, and plays numerous shows a year with many in attendance.
Before Fire is considering label representation, but anyone in the music industry knows that is not usually in a band's best interest. Before Fire is in negotiations with certain record labels, but a band that does it themselves ("D.I.Y.") should be respected and revered and given the same opportunities for advancement and legitimacy in the music world.
A wikipedia entry is deserving. To deny them based on the fact they choose not to be represented by a label (that may very well be to their detriment) would seem unjust. Wikipedia is about free and public knowledge and that is all we intend to distribute. Please make an exception in this case because there are many others more than ourselves that are interested in this band, and Before Fire is certainly well deserving.
If anyone else is going to post comments here please keep them courteous and professional. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.198.70.203 (talk) 00:32, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
- I've undone my declination and put it back up for review - I'll let somebody else review it for a second opinion, however I doubt it will be accepted per notability guidelines, sorry - usually articles must be very notable and important to an encyclopedia which would be viewed all around the world. But I hope you the best of luck! I hope that you continue to contribute to Wikipedia! ~ QwerpQwertus ·_Talk_·_Alt Acc_·_Talkback Me_· 00:47, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
Thank you very much. We understand that there are issues with notoriety, but more notoriety would certainly come with the acceptance of a wikipedia entry. Seems like a "Catch 22" but the management of Before Fire will still respect and contribute to wikipedia regardless of the decision. If accepted we will continue to monitor and update the entry to keep it current. Your time in dealing with this is certainly appreciated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.198.70.203 (talk) 01:12, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

My Yefim Shubentsov article
editHi - You said I could contact you for help posting that article. User:Splash90/Yefim Shubentsov I added an info box and more news articles from reliable sources. I don't have a photo of him and the only one I found online is probably copyrighted and looks to be really outdated. I also don't know what more to write about him that's not 'advertising' sounding. Early copy editing
editHi there. I noticed that you've already done some copy editing and added it to your tally for the upcoming GOCE backlog drive. I wanted to make sure you knew that the drive doesn't officially begin until July 1st, and any copy editing done in advance of that shouldn't be counted as part of your official total. It's awesome that you're enthusiastic about getting to work, however. Just wanted to let you know to prevent you from doing a bunch of additional uncredited copy edits, unless you just want to do some on the side, which many people are doing in anticipation of the real start. Thank you
editThank you very much for signing up for the July Backlog Elimination Drive! The copyedit backlog stretches back two and a half years, all the way back to the beginning of 2008! We're really going to need all the help we can muster to get it down to a manageable number. We've ambitiously set a goal of clearing all of 2008 from the backlog this month. I can find english texts with source only from university's website and no other third party sources. Only iscanews.ir have a general information about qazvin azad university. 3-I can't upload picture, do you know why? how can I upload pictures? 4-There is similar wiki article for this university; "Qazvin azad University" and this article have no any source and have few texts that "Qazvin Islamic Azad University", also doesn't have correct topic. it is Qazvin 'a'zad University than Qazvin Islamic Azad University 5-please help me!!!! this university is well known university in Iran and tries to be international university, thats why I try to make an wiki article about it. I graduated from this university. 6-My path for making this article is: create the article, then complete and expand it.
7-this is my first article creation in wiki, so would you please guide me???? plz!!!
thanks a lot —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ebrahimi35 (talk • contribs) 19:08, 12 June 2010 (UTC)
- It could be a good article, it just needs some reliable sources (where you found the information), and references (from tv, newspapers, big websites, ect.) to prove it should be included, both at least close to the correct format, if you have to, I believe these can be in foreign languages. With these things, I can most likely accept it, and afterwards you may consider expanding it. I'll help with the formatting of the refs and sources. You may also add an article to the Wikiepdia of the language of that area. Thanks! ~ QwerpQwertus ·_Talk_·_Alt Acc_·_Talkback Me_· 19:40, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

What format do you want the names of your talk page archives in? Sequentially numbered archives of the format User talk:QwerpQwertus/Archive 1 are the easiest to set up because they work with the standard archive boxes. Also, you may want to consider fixing the spelling of the index page User talk:QwerpQwertus/Inex. PleaseStand (talk) 22:32, 13 June 2010 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Tokyo_Electron_Logo.jpg)
editThanks for uploading File:Tokyo_Electron_Logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 06:24, 13 June 2010 (UTC)

- Fixed The licensing tag and rationale you used was for fair use, but it was a free logo due to threshold of originality. I replaced it with the correct template and moved it to Commons. Taric25 (talk) 07:10, 13 June 2010 (UTC)

As far as more global usage, such as being able to use it in your user space, I changed the speedy deletion on Commons to a regular deletion so that we can discuss it at commons:Commons:Deletion requests/File:Tokyo Electron Logo.jpg. Classic book
editHello Qwerp, thanks for the feedback on Classic Book. I agree, a photo/pic/infobox would be nice, I had thought about some pictures to break up the text, but couldn't quite figure out what to put in...a picture of Twain? Wasn't sure that was appropriate?...
Another concern to me is the 'references' section. I know the section is a little messy-looking. Any recommendations on that area? Oh, and I couldn't quite figure out how to fix the "quotes" section at the end.
I do tend to think my re-write is an improvement over the original. :-)Shearonink (talk) 02:24, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
- To clean up the refs, you can divide them into columns by making {{reflist}}{{reflist|2}}{{reflist|3}}, you can see what they produce below. Now that it think about it, an infobox, probably wouldn't be best, but you could put a picture of a classic book or a book that is a collection of classic books (there likely is already one of these images uploaded). As for the quotes, they should probably be above the refs\ext links - real ones are taken from wikiquotes - try uploading them there and they'll I'm sure you'll be able to find instructions on how to use them - there may already be ones appropriate for this. If not, you could just put them in a section I guess, maybe in a different font and floating.

- But I agree - it's definitely better than the original! ~ QwerpQwertus ·_Talk_·_Alt Acc_·_Talkback Me_· 02:51, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for the reflist suggestions, but I'll admit it...I am not seeing how they differ in appearance, one from the other...clarification please?
I'll see if I can find an appropriate pic, but am actually a little leery of using a picture of a specific book, want to keep the article free of any bias toward any individual books. In one of the previous incarnations of this article, people apparently started putting in list after list of classic books and there was some controversy about books being left off, etc. Maybe I could find a generic pic of books on a library shelf or something similar.Shearonink (talk) 03:35, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
- They are in columns - three, two, and one (I admit that doesn't help too much, though it can make it look a little better), I don't think anyone would object to a picture of for example, a Mark Twain book - it is globally recognized as one and after all, it is only an example.
- Hi! Just making this edit because I just reached 1,666 edits and the program crashed - it was kinda creepy!
I know what I can do...I'll get a photo of a classic book/bookcover, say "Tom Sawyer" or "Dune" or "Grapes of Wrath", and put a caption underneath it saying something like "example of a classic book".
It will be fun figuring out how to do that... Shearonink (talk) 04:09, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
- That sounds good, just put [[EXACT_FILE_NAME_WITH_EXTENSION\PREFIX|thumb|12345px|CAPTION]] Just put the file name, size in px, and caption in - hope that helps! ~ QwerpQwertus ·_Talk_·_Alt Acc_·_Talkback Me_· 04:14, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
When you have a chance please take a look at the latest version. I cleaned up the quote section(gave them each separate footnotes-references), added a pic, etc..Shearonink (talk) 16:19, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
- That looks good - and I'm glad you were able to add the quotes. ~ QwerpQwertus ·_Talk_·_Alt Acc_·_Talkback Me_· 20:42, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

Josh Smith (musician) =
editThank you for your suggestions & advice on the Request for Feedback page. I took another shot at the Josh Smith (musician) article. I've rewritten some of the sections to sound more matter-of-fact, I added a reference from a hard-copy magazine that unfortunately does not have their holiday issue online, and I removed some information that I can't verify other than from the musician's Twitter account.
This is my current revision, with the comparison of the last draft I posted on the Feedback page: [3]
Please let me know if the article needs more work. Unfortunately, I can't obtain a direct link to the DrFunkenberry article that was reposted on the messageboards because it's behind a locked entry on their website (although included with the MusicofJoshSmith press kit). editThank you for your suggestions and feedback. But I think it's best to just name her article just as Paulini. There is already an existing article named Paulini but with nothing on it. I hoping you can help me redirect Paulini Curuenavuli to Paulini. Thanks! Ozurbanmusic 01:30, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

editExcellent! Thank you! I was aware that I was trying to compensate for the original article by presenting the other side, but your challenge to write neutrally is encouraging because it indicates that it can be done.
Would it be legit to work on the whole article, and not just add information?
Thanks again!Net Researcher (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 03:34, 15 June 2010 (UTC).
- It's definitely okay to work on whole articles - anyone can anytime. I'm glad you're going to try to fix it - generally, you would try to make it sound factual, avoiding overly positive or negative adjectives and both sides should be portrayed at the same time, rather than being like two separate reviews. While you and others have done a pretty good job on it, the top section presents incriminating and negative details only, while (no offense), yours emphasizes mostly good things. I think that if you can merge the two sections, it will be a more fair and balanced article. Thanks for taking an interest in it and happy editing! ~ QwerpQwertus ·_Talk_·_Alt Acc_·_Talkback Me_· 03:47, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Reviewer granted
editHello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

Editing name slash
editUser:RikaJakobs/Josh Smith (Musician)
I have one quick question regarding my "Josh Smith (Musician)" article. Is it possible to change the title or name slash to "Josh Smith (musician)", so that it matches the Wikipedia style. I've read the Help section on Disambiguation, but there's really only advice on how to name a new article from the start, and nothing on how to fix or change a new title after it's been drafted. Thank you again for your help. RikaJakobs (talk) 21:02, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, you're right - it should not be capitalized, that is called the move function and it is in the top bar or under an arrow as "move" or "move page", though it's really just renaming something. I'll do it for you this time, but for future reference, that's how you do it. You can also publish it to mainspace that way, removing all of the prefix in the name. If you want to read the page on it, here are a few links that may or may lead to it. Happy editing! Ken Hill Article Move to Mainspace
editHi QQ, You may recall you gave me some tips a couple of days ago on my article on Dr. Kenneth O. Hill. Thank you very much :).
I was wondering if you had a moment would you mind helping me move it over to the mainspace? It's really no rush at all, I'm sure you're busy working on several other projects here on Wikipedia, but whenever you have a spare moment to either point me in the right direction or just do it that would be greatly appreciated. (I'm not sure how to handle there being multiple "Ken Hill"s and to correctly add the new article to the disambiguation page).
Thank you kindly for your help! Ict1969 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 12:38, 17 June 2010 (UTC).

Ventuz Software
editDear Qwerp,
you recently reviewd an article I wrote about a software called Ventuz. I hope you remember. First of all, thank you for your effort. I really appreciate you taking the time.
Unfortunately, you declined the article, stating that I didn't have enough reliable sources. But I have two magazine articles and one book among the references, which were not written by me or one of the Ventuz staff. My question is, why these are not reliable sources. Is it because they are not in English?
I would be happy if you could help me, since Ventuz is a great piece of software that is used by many renowned people. I think it should have a wikipedia article!
Thanks a lot, kglueck —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kglueck (talk • contribs) 10:12, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
- Well, I might consider adding more ones in English and\or possibly creating this article on that language Wikipedia. It does seem to be notable\accurate, but good references and sources are needed. But if you can't find any, you can go ahead and resubmit anyway - those may suffice. Thanks!~ QwerpQwertus ·_Contact Me_·Get Adopted! 14:15, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
- For clarity, above Ventuz Software post moved from Classic book section and given its own stand-alone section. Shearonink (talk) 13:56, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
Thanks a lot for your help! I will try to resubmit it like that and will make sure to add new evidence and sources in English as soon as I find them. The other sources are in different languages, German and Spanish, but Ventuz makes sure to always communicate in English, so I figured this would be the right language to post an article in. Thanks again, great help! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kglueck (talk • contribs) 09:21, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
Yodel Australia
editHello Querp,
Thanks for your recommendations. I went through the article User:Natkolk/Yodel Australia and attempted to make it more neutral. If there is anything specifically that you think I have missed that would be highly appreciated. Otherwise, if you could put in on the mainstream that would be fantastic!
Thanks for your help

- Good job, I've moved it to mainspace for you. Thanks! ~ QwerpQwertus ·_Contact Me_·Get Adopted! 02:56, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry, but due to your previous four incidences of deletion, somebody has create-protected the name and I cannot move it for you. Though most of the issues appear to be resolved, you will need to ask somewhere else that it be moved - I believe that only administrators would be able to do so. It also might help to add one or two more refs from big newspapers or websites. I'd reccommend asking on the help desk entry that it now be put up. Good luck! ~ QwerpQwertus ·_Contact Me_·Get Adopted! 03:04, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- Hello again,
- I have added another newspaper source and attempted to make it more neutral. I know that it was deleted previously but I have really tried to make it more neutral and do the right thing. Thanks so much for your help and any future recommendations would be great. Also if you know an administrator that I can speak to, that would be really appreciated. Thanks Natkolk (talk) 04:30, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- Just added some more sources. I hope that helps. Looking forward to hearing back from you. Thanks Natkolk (talk) 05:17, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Feedback - please help me out
editRe. WP:FEED
I think you've probably seen my comments on the talk page, about how we need to restructure the feedback system so that we have one page for each day, we transclude the most recent days on the main page, set up navigation, move the current requests across, add a box at the top showing the 'oldest outstanding requests', etc etc.
This really is desperately needed; the volume of requests now makes for a VERY long page, and archiving is not the best method at all; it can confuse new users, when their feedback 'disappears', etc. With a page-per-day, the links to their feedback would always remain - so we could alert them with a link on their talk page, and it won't matter if they check in 1 day, 1 week, 1 month or 1 year - their feedback will still be there.
I've had a 'demo' of it set up, and got a bit of help with the templates to auto-transclude the most recent days, etc - please look at User:Chzz/Wikipedia:Requests for feedback - please look also at a 'demo' day, User:Chzz/Wikipedia:Requests for feedback, and the nav page, User:Chzz/Wikipedia:Requests for feedback/navigation.
The demo isn't quite perfect, but to be honest, if we wait until it is, nothing will happen. We need to boldly implement it.
To do that, first of all, we need to clear things.
So, can you please help me by moving any and all feedback into the archive, and tell the users with a note, something like this one.
The move-over to the new method will be much easier if we clear things down.
I'm going to ask others for help, and try to get help with the transclusions stuff too.
Sorry this is a bit of a long message; I think it's important to sort this out, ASAP - and I need help with it.
Thanks, Chzz ► 03:35, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- Sure, I'll archive the page and leave everyone a message. ~ QwerpQwertus ·_Contact Me_·Get Adopted! 03:38, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- Also, the demo looks much improved. Thanks for doing that! ~ QwerpQwertus ·_Contact Me_·Get Adopted! 03:45, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

- More replies there now. Chzz ► 05:35, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- I've made pages for all of June, with the header template. So we can 'populate' 'em now, I suppose. Yes, only the main page will need changing - plus the edit notice, and some other tweaks. If we copy stuff off the queue to the days, we need to beware of further edits to that page, giving feedback - but I guess when we switch to the transclusion system, we can just check in the history for any further edits, and copy them over. Should be good. Chzz ► 05:59, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- Ok, sounds good. ~ QwerpQwertus ·_Contact Me_·Get Adopted! 06:02, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

- Mmm, great; I like BOLD.
- I think anything prior to June should go to the archive (old-stylee) and the user be informed, of course. And the rest, if we move 'em to the applicable day page (when they were submitted) then, the new system will start to take shape. - ie we'll only actually transclude the most recent days - so the page will be manageable. And we'll update that box to show the oldest outstanding.
- Eventually, it'd be nice to have a bot do the last bit. But, one step at a time.
- Great work, thanks. Chzz ► 06:11, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- Ok - if you haven't done that yet, in the morning, I'll start on it. I just finished something to automatically populate the backlog list with the oldest unreviewed entries, I'll test it and put it in in the morning. Good night! ~ QwerpQwertus ·_Contact Me_·Get Adopted! 06:18, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- Yep, I saw the hidden comment; that's cool. I've split the 17th into the individual days, and I'll try to inform all those users where their feedback has moved to - plus the ones I archived (from May). Chzz ► 07:23, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

- Shinkansen Fan, who (I found out later, in a Google search) had been working on recreating the Tokyo Electron article at the time I requested that it be undeleted,
- posted the following message on my talk page:
- > I downloaded two images, the company logo and the corporate slogan, from the official site and converted them to SVG with Inkscape.
- > Can we upload them to Wikimedia Commons? I'm worried about copyright issues because both of them are TEL's trademarks.
- > I think that TEL's Annual Report 2009 is a good source of information on the company.
- I'm a relative newbie to Wikipedia, and not an expert on how Wikipedia handles such issues, so I wonder if you would kindly answer his question for me.
- He doesn't have time at present to translate the Japanese DaiNippon Screen article, and neither do I, so I passed on
- his DaiNippon Screen suggestion to you since you did such a good job of the Tokyo Electron article. LittleBen (talk) 10:19, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
- Ok, I'd be happy to, and I'll translate that one when I'm finished with the Tokyo Electron article. The logo won't qualify for upload, however, as you can see here. |:-) ~ QwerpQwertus · Contact Me · 23:47, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

That's a nutshell view, if you are interested in using it or learning more, just post here. —mono 19:10, 21 June 2010 (UTC)- (what mono said and...) You have to request permission to use it, plus it's only for Windows (Darn!). Generally, if you have 500 mainspace edits, you'll be approved without much question, but under 500 is rarely approved. Hey QwerpQwertus! Thanks for your work at WP:SCV. :) I just want to remind you to take a look at the history of the articles you check. For example, you tagged ABW Group as a false positive. If you look at the history you'll see that the article contained copied content when it was created, but that it has been removed now. So in this case, instead of tagging it as a false positive at SCV you should just write that it has been cleaned. If you have any questions, feel free to ask at my talk page. Cheers, Theleftorium (talk) 09:52, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- Also, ABW Group contained copied content from a source that was not listed by CorenSearchBot. In addition to checking the source given by CSD, it's best to do a Google Search to make sure that the article doesn't copy content from any other sources. I, for example, discovered copied content with this search. I hope that helps. :) Regards, Theleftorium (talk) 10:08, 23 June 2010 (UTC)

Reminder
editHi! This message is just a friendly reminder that you signed up to participate in the GOCE Backlog Elimination Drive. I noticed that you haven't logged a single copy edit yet. We'd love to see you participate! I see you are on holidays, but the drive runs three more weeks so there's still plenty of time to earn barnstars. Thanks! --Diannaa (Talk) 22:06, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
- I'll be sure do do some work there over the coming month - thanks for reminding me, I almost forgot! QwertyQwerpus (talk) 03:08, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

Article Feedback
editWelcome back! Just doing the usual, requesting feedback for another article I've created. The article's called Choose You and I hope you like it! ozurbanmusic (talk)
- All I can suggest would be to write a little more about it, if possible, when it is released. It might've needed a few more references, but the album's notability will establish the song's, so that isn't necessary - good job! ~ QwerpQwertus · Contact Me · 17:00, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
GOCE Newsletter
edit
Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors Backlog Elimination Drive! We have now passed the halfway point, so here's an update. Progress Report - Progress toward the targets has been good. 751 articles out of the approximately 1,600 we would like to get completed by the end of the month were done by July 15, so we will be very close to meeting the target for volume. However, we would like to clear all of the 2008 articles from the backlog, and there are still 892 left to do. Please consider choosing one of these older articles when looking for something to copy edit. If we focus our firepower we can completely wipe out 2008 from the queue. Participation Report - 95 people signed up for the July drive. This is a great result compared to May, when we had 36. However, in May only one person that signed up didn't do any copy edits, and in July only 59 of the 95 have posted any copy edits on the big board. The task may seem insurmountable but please remember that if all 95 participants copy edit just one article a day from now until the end of the month, we will eliminate 1,300 more articles from the backlog. So please consider participating at whatever level you can! All contributions are appreciated. This newsletter was prepared for the GOCE by Diannaa (Talk), S Masters (talk), and The Raptor Let's talk. |
Car guy Learning Wiki
editHi Qwerp,
Thank you for all of the help so far. I have found a few more sources to try to make the [MSD Ignition] article more appropriate. In the second paragraph under History I added a book reference. The issue is that I don't know how to make the book go to my ref list instead of just inside the text.
I am hoping to continue learning about writing these things, so your input is especially appreciated! Any other suggestions you have for the page would of course be appreciated.
Thanks so much NeisenKR (talk) 14:24, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
- Looks much better, it's probably ready for mainspace - I can move it if you want, or you can (which WP:Move#How to move a page can help you with. As for the citation, I'm not sure why it isn't working - it looks like it's typed correctly, but if you can't fix that, you can just use <ref>CITATION in APA, MLA formats, etc.</ref> (very similar to a internet ref) instead - but good job! ~ QwerpQwertus · Contact Me · 22:41, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
Thanks again Qwerp. I added one more book, for good measure and used the <ref> begin and end to make the books go to the list like I wanted them. I am going to try to move it to mainspace right now, though I expect to continue to tweak it a bit. All of your help is appreciated! (Going through all this makes me have a lot more faith in Wiki articles too!) ~ QwerpQwertus · Contact Me · 19:33, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

x== Review of PCHS ==
Thank you for the feedback. Page is still a work in progress especially with the sports section. I wasn't sure if it ok to mention about the football and nothing else since not much has been done with PCHS sports...
Thank you, GT (talk) 21:30, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
- That'd be fine, and you should also try to add a few more references from sites that aren't the school's. Good job though! ~ QwerpQwertus · Contact Me · 19:33, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
Overdose Awareness Day
editHi, you commented on the page im developing "overdose awareness day"... Im just wondering what you mean by another third party source? in the text itself? or as a further reading? im confused! Thanks for your time in helping me out! Finn29 (talk) 01:26, 27 July 2010 (UTC)Finn29
Choose You
editHi, I'm again requesting for the article, Choose You to be reviewed. It was removed by another user before but I assure you all information provided is true! thanks ozurbanmusic (talk)

- Looks good to me - the references clearly support what the article says.
Article review
editHey again, I have just created an discography article of singer, J.Williams. Can you please review it for me? Question, do I have to see an administrator everytime I created an article for it to be reviewed? ozzyg (talk)
- No - you actually never have to get it reviewed and anyways, you're probably experienced enough to know if you're article needs anything, I'm sure nobody would object to just removing the "new unreviewed article" tag yourself, if there is any, but of course, if you ever want to, you're welcome post here or at WP:FEED. Also, you should consider participating in WP:DYK, since you write so many good new articles. As for this one, looks great - nothing more I can really suggest except, as always, adding more. ~ QwerpQwertus · Contact Me · 22:36, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
The Adventures of Paddington Bear
editI moved your vote over to the actual AfD page; the nomination was left on the actual daily log form rather than properly so I'm fixing it right now. Nate • (chatter) 05:22, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
- Ok, thanks - I was actually just going to do the same, but I decided to eat some ice cream. |:-) ~ QwerpQwertus · Contact Me · 05:28, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
AFD Voting Icons
editHi,
I see you've been using voting icons at AFD. Please be aware that there have been numerous discussion about this in the past and the consensus has been that voting icons are not appropriate. See [[4]]. Regards. -- Whpq (talk) 17:32, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
- Ok - I'll just use the regular "Vote reasoning" format. Thanks for letting me know! ~ QwerpQwertus · Contact Me · 17:47, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for understanding. You should request deletion of Template:AfD-vote. -- Whpq (talk) 19:34, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
